I can explain how I made it from bronze arena tiers up to Gold V, even into Platinum briefly using a simple method but it requires lots of persistence to stay up there. Actually Gold 4 and 5 are not much different so if you get pushed down from 5 to 4 not that great a loss.
How you rise in rank is to wait on your free refreshes (or can use gems) for only those teams you can beat easily. On every or every other refresh you should see some teams to beat. Those are made up of low level champs and solo champs like arbiter and many others all by themselves. If you get a team of maybe 100k power you can start beating many of the solo teams. Not sure if there is a limit on losses down in bronze and silver but in gold the limit is 25 losses in 24 hours. So if you play enough battles you can keep up, besides there are tasks to do many such battles in arena anyway. Don’t even worry about a good defense team, no matter what you have will never be good enough, you will have L100 folks hitting you, etc. Eventually you will rise in score enough to cross into higher levels, but reset will try to knock you down so you have to stay on top of it at reset, so you must win some battles right away to stay in that level. No matter where you are you will always find those low power teams to beat. So that is the plan, I still do the same thing to stay in Gold V, getting lots of medals to advance in GH. Write if you have questions.

I’m thinking it’s an oversite that Hephraak is not listed. But he should be listed from my recent experience with him

I see people are getting to gold I after 1-2 weeks of playing. I have been playing for 16 months and have a difficult time staying at Silver III.

How did you get to gold I? As it’s obvious I have no clue on what to do.
Same problem with tag team, except a tough time staying in Copper II.

    Any help is very appreciated.

Ok, so here is what I discovered about arena. I took my team of 1 lev 60 legendary champion, I lev 60 epic champion, and 2 lev 50 rare champions up to gold tier 1. Then when I am close to gold tier 2, I begin to get opponents that have 4 lev 60 legendary Champs and way higher power ratings until the point that every team I have to choose from drastically out classes me with rank and power, even when I refreshed, I got the same level of teams over and over. I lost to every team (even after disabling auto) until I was kicked back down to silver 3. It has nothing to do with Speed tuning your team, the game gives you unbeatable opponents when you are progressing too quickly. Most of those teams had “unkillable” 3 turn buffs, it would not have mattered if I took my turn first, I still would have lost. The game was setting me up to lose in arena, because if you win in area you can build strength across your whole account and it will progress you through campaign, dungeons, and other areas of the game. It is a method of slowing your progress.

For those getting their butt creamed by lower-rated teams, those teams are most likely speed-tuned. There is some good info online explaining this, and deadwoodjedi has an arena calculator on his site that I found helpful. It makes a big difference. I’m still struggling to get to Gold but I know that I will always be speed tuning my teams in the future.

Hi, is there any way you’d be willing to put together a tag team arena offense guide? I found your clan boss guide so helpful. I just can’t seem to get my offense together enough to get passed bronze 3, I’m just stuck. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong, I am in gold 4 in regular arena, I’m just not sure why I’m failing si bad in tag team.

  7. Danielle

What would be a good balanced team for arena offense?

because whenever I get a team lower power than mine I get creamed and I’m trying to get to gold tier to advance in missions.

    Please Help…

There are so many different champions in epic 5 stars. All of them are good bud some of them are much better (like Archmage Hellmut, Deacon Armstrong, Gorgorab, Jinglehunter, all M’s, Seeker, Seer, Skullcrown Stag Knight, Umbral Enchantress may be Tayrel, Basher…). There are also other champions (Bonekeeper, Nazana, Valla?!) who are not bad bud they are definitely different rank.

Which one area is most useful for building up an arena offense team that will get into silver tier — maxing out books, masteries, or gear?

I’m clearing lvl 14 dungeons/keeps, nightmare campaign, factions wars are mostly stuck at stage7 but 5 are at stage13/14, and I’m still stuck in bronze tier I/II. Arena teams listed at 20k less power routinely kick my butt. I have QE, Scyl, Maulie, Serris, MM, & Thenasil, but my maxed out Sniper still outlives them all and outdamages everyone but QE.

Thanks for your site! It’s a trove of helpfulness!

lol im f2p to, i´m in gold tear four and i have only been playing for about a year now.

  11. Dave

who came up with this arena system? how are there so many epics and legendary champions in literally the lowest tier? bronze 2 is nearly impossible with a free to play account. sure glad they tied progress missions to bottleneck the free to play accounts.

    You forgot Headsman. rare

@Aladdin Haddad: Each champion has different strength and weaknesses. If you do know that Bombs has slightly lower chances of finishing of HP Champions like Mountain King, then don’t use her there but substitute other champions who can take on HP Champions. War Mother is not necessarily the answer for all Arena Defense. Pick champions that can counter best against opponent’s Arena Defense.

  14. Aladdin Haddad

it is still RNG dependant to use Warmother in the Arena, she is absolutely Garbage, the Arena Meta revolves basically about speed, so you always have 1 50 % Chance to go last, besides the new Meta evolves, and its very common nowadays to use 2 turn meter boosters.
Crutraxa is Amazing, i agree with that, but Warmother should be basically next to warchief.
I learned a lot of this website, huge effort and love everything about it, but this ranking list shocked me, please consider changing the the Ranking of Warmother, the Bomb Debuff utility in the arena has been neutralized longtime ago, plus talking about 60K HP is nothing nowadays. Farting cows has a mountain King with 150K HP, and many other top plat Arena Players.
    Cheers

@Aladdin Haddad: It depends on the team you build around War Mother. Here is an example of how to use War Mother:
    1. Have a Turn Meter Booster to start the round first (e.g. Arbiter, Gorgorab, Lyssandra, Seeker, Apothecary) to boost War Mother speed.
    2. War Mother build for max attack (4~5K Attack, 300~400 Accuracy, 200+ Speed) – no need for HP, Defense, Critical Rate, Critical Damage or Resist.
    3. Have a Support Champion that can revive Champion with Full Turn Meter (e.g. Raglin or Cardinal) to revive War Mother when she dies.
    4. If enemy attacks and killed War Mother, have the reviver to revive War Mother. Reviver is slighly slower than War Mother but more tankier.

War Mother deals 20K damage per bomb with 3k Attack, 30K damage per bomb with 4.5K attack.
Bomb damage ignores all defense but does not do any Critical Damage.
With 60K damage from 2 bombs, it will knock out all champions unless the HP Champion has more than 60K HP.

For Cruetraxa, use her with Savage Set and Cruel Set to raise up her Ignore Defense to 80%, and she can kill tanky defense champions with ease (e.g. Tormin the Cold). Arena is mainly about using the right champions against the opposing Arena Defense, and with the right team to synergize well. Also, gearing them properly and with good selected masteries will boost their capabilities even further.

@Christopher Peacock: You can try the traditional Arena Build.
    1. Leader = Speed Aura Champion with Turn Meter Boost and Speed Buff such as High Khatun.
    2. Supporter = Increase Attack (e.g. Spirithost)
    3. Debuffer = Decrease Defense (e.g. Warmaiden)
    4. Finisher = Finishing Kill (e.g. Kael, Relickeeper)

  17. Aladdin Haddad

Who is writing these rating , are you even a player? Crutraxa is 4 star In Arena Offense?? WTF.
also lots of mistake in other categories, war mother is not an A Tier, she should be in FF Tier.
pls have a check as the general Use of the champions, not just through reading their abilities like content creators when they do guides.

  18. Christopher Peacock

Hi there, I am in desperate need of help to continue my progress on Raid Shadow Legends. I have come to a brick wall in Arena. I cannot get into silver tier Arena which means my mission and challenge progress has stopped. I have tried every help page or tutorial I can find and I still cannot get past bronze and into silver. I desperately need the help of someone who is experienced. Please please help me. Thank you for your time. Chris

@Nagazel: Currently what ranking are you seeing in Ma’Shalled in this page?

  20. Nagazel

You may consider reworking Ma’Shalled’s ranking here (and maybe other places, haven’t checked) since his update. Having Leech, Buff Stealing, Leech, True Fear, Inc Spd and Inc Crit Rate pretty much make him a beast in this avenue.

  21. WileyMan

I lose about 100 Arena Ranking Points every week when they close the ranking period and give out the rewards. Sometimes, this is enough to drop me to a lower Area Tier. What is up with this?

Thanks for all of your great work on this site.

  22. Paul

You’ve clearly put a lot of work into this.
However, this is titled a ranking system, which to me means top ranked characters and they would rank from best to worst. These are alphabetical. So its not a ranking
Am I not reading this page right?
Ideally, Im looking for the top ten epics, rares etc.
Top ten Arena, campaign, heals etc.
Is there a way to sort this?
    Thanks
