Solid in faction wars, btw DO NOT USE BOOKS ON UNCOMMONS EVER! You will draw plenty of shieldguards from mystery shards to max him out that way.
Would it be worth investing in more than one Shieldguard for dungeons?
as well as spider if you have an AOE Leecher
fully masteried if you give it a reflex set for campaign it can mop the floors for farming
Why did you not post a review of him? You reviewed other champions, in My opinion this is an extremely important champion based on how easy he is to acquire and book.
Might be a pillarstone of early game raid shadow legends gameplay
I’ve seen him used for the Nether Spider waves by a lot of YouTubers and I was wondering what your thoughts were on him for Doom Tower?
@James: I think Pitiless One ranks lower because of the books required to fully book either of these. One is much easier to book than the other and I wouldn’t waste books on an Epic this bad, but would on a free Uncommon that can hand out huge amounts of damage.
Looks like his passive is now stripping debuffs at the start of a turn, a la doompriest. Took me through the stage 12 bombs.
ROLE: Attack, it’s Defense.
@BloodyMir: It will depend on where your current progress for your game account.
Mid Game Stat: 80~100% Critical Rate, 2000~2500 Defense, 50~100% Critical Damage, 150~170 Speed, 20~25K HP.
Late Game Stat: 90~100% Critical Rate, 2500~3000 Defense, 100~150% Critical Damage, 170~190 Speed, 25~30K HP.
End Game stats: 100% Critical Rate, 4000~5000 Defense, 150~250% Critical Damage, 190~210 Speed, 30~40K HP.
@Ayumilove Thanks. Would you be so kind and feed us some hard values on behalf of stats? Since random changing of high level gear is literally a ripoff in sense of silver expenses.
@BloodyMir: Shieldguard requires Critical Rate, Critical Damage, Speed and Defense Stat to be effective in all battle (dungeon/campaign). For campaign farming masteries, you will need Whirlwind of Death, Kill Streak, Spirit Haste to boost his speed stat. Cycle of Violence and Cycle of Magic to decrease his skill cooldown, so he can spam his A2 skill much more often against the enemies.
What stats are needed to make him a 12.3 farmer? I have him sitting at level 50 and masteries up to Cycle of Death, as soon as I can farm with him, my starter will be geared in more dungeon gear.
I don’t understand why this is 5-star in campaign when Pitiless One is clearly a better version of this one. The only thing Pitiless One doesn’t have is the speed debuff, but I think the extra hit on A1 with crit rate boost aura combined with heal on crits more than makes up for this.
@Boss: except for Saurus, which is useless without gear, some uncommon are useful even with mediocre ones. THe reason is simple: they often have abilities with high proc chance or very low cooldown, making them useful for 100% uptime on debuffs that are necessary. Armiger, for example, has the easiest block revive, second only to Fenax A1. Shieldguard is very strong on offtank fundamentals, he builds def for surviving and does damage based on that, and his capable of solo farming very early or tagging with your starter.
@Dragonrr: It depends on the Spider’s Den stages. Shieldguard is better than Zephyr Sniper during the Early to Mid Game stages, since he can get those Extra Turn Meter from those Critical Hits. Plus, he can be used as your Brutal Campaign Speed Farmer when he is geared right. Zeniphyr Sniper is mainly used as a tank bait for the higher end stages of Spider 20 where she recovers health through equipping Lifesteal Set and having Counterattack proc from “Retribution” (Tier 5 Defense Mastery) and large heal from Warmaster proc (Tier 6 Offense Mastery)
Is Zephyr Sniper now considered “better” than Shieldguard for Spider?
I find a lot of these S rated uncommons to be a little misleading since these champions will be most enticing for new players. With the exception of Outlaw Monk, most of the other champions including shieldguard requires pretty good and specific gear to work out when new players would be outfitting these champions mostly with campaign gear.
Hello!
I was a little confused at Shieldguard’s low atk rating, but it looks like his role is listed as Attack instead of Defense.
Thanks for the awesome guides, cheers!
@ccccc: ShieldGuard casts Decrease Speed on his A1 (default ability) which can be resisted by enemies if insufficient Accuracy. I have tested with my Level 50 Shieldguards against multiple enemies such as Spider’s Den and Minotaur and its quite helpful in battle when you pair it with Decrease Turn Meter from other champion.
Why is accuracy selected in his mastery? He casts no debuffs to necessitate accuracy.
