Sandy Duncan🤔😏 here needs a facelift for her model pic. Not so bad on her portrait pic! But she butt fugly on most of the other pics she graces, besides when did she leave Television to become an elf? Ya hur? 😬😑😬🤤

I finally have an early game spider team that will survive a few levels. Battlesage is part of that team and the spiderlings come after her first. She can hold on until the last two turns when I win with just four champs standing. I would like a recommendation on the type of gear to use on her. The best advice will include what 2 piece set to pair with the four piece set and what subsets to target. I have a lot of gear at my disposal. If I can keep her standing, maybe I can advance a few more levels. I am rolling with 4 stun with two resilience set right now. And there are half a dozen recommendations out there right now on how to gear her and I would like to know what works best for Spider.

  3. Farti B

Why is a stun set recommended for Clan Boss?

  4. Toetag

3 Turn AoE debuff removal is extremely underrated, especially if you don’t have many champs that can do it. I use her for Dragon 24 in place of Mausoleum Mage because of the affinity. I wouldn’t suggest building her for DPS unless you’re just hemorrhaging DPS gear.

  5. Amit Livne

    7 tomes. Not 6!

I saw this champion in the palace of aravia, checked her set out and HOLY CRAP, she’s a good champion. S tier in my opinion. She’s a great replacement to spirithost, and also amazing in a speed nuke team. While Spirithost has a 10% increase speed, Battlesage has a 19% increase speed, same as high khatun. She has better overall speed than spirithost, is a void champion, and also does an increase attack buff.
Spirithost’s skills are to increase attack, remove debuffs, and a basic. Battlesage’s A2 includes the increase attack AND remove debuffs, plus an amazing revive on her A3. Not to mention the amazing AOE basic attack she has. Dunno why this champion isn’t in S tier.

It seems to me, although I haven’t played this game for all that long, that these masteries are heavily geared towards doing damage in general and in arena specifically. I will not be running Battlesage for damage, as I don’t think this is what she’s best at.
I’d go [Warmaster]–if I were to go damage–to use against bosses, especially since I’ll be using her mostly in Spider’s Den. Maybe the masteries on this page is set up to really help her clear the waves before the dungeon bosses?
I’ll personally be focusing her on stunning, buffing/cleansing and landing her revive on death in a timely manner.
I’m probably going to go with [Fearsome Presence] with my stun set. I was also looking at [Timely Intervention]. I was glancing at [Oppressor] as well, though I think that one is less useful overall.

Battlesage helped me beating Nether Spider on Normal (and I had her on level 50). I have her with “daze” instead of stun (coz of the higher percentage), so she deflects and distracts champions on the way. I’ve used her in Doom Tower on many occasions coz of her A1 that has like a hit-all and with the daze works great. She is pretty good in Faction Wars too. Not to forget that she is able to revive a champion.

  9. Vino

For purely Faction War team should I keep her or Elhain if so far I only one spot for these 2 to join the Tyrant, Apoth, Reliquary and Vergis (that is all I have for now… ) I need to boost someone to 6 star so I might need to sac one of them for my F2P. I think Elhain is easier to find so just in case I regret later I can rebuild her again? Elhain is all about attack while Battlesage is more utility like remove debuff and revive against other stuff later on. I think with Tyrant and Battlesage I can kinda handle the AOE attack mid to mid-ish Faction War?

@Daniel: Damage multiplier has been added to Battlesage. Not all champions are tested for their damage, so the information will be limited.

  11. Daniel

How about adding damage multiplier information to the champion guides?

  12. TheTodmeister

I figured something out in Arena today with this champion, and no one has mentioned it here yet.

She is the antidote for Tormin on the other team!

As per her description, her A2: “Places a 50% [Increase ATK] buff on all allies for 2 turns, then removes all debuffs on all allies.” This is all done in one action, in that order. so the buff that could trigger the freeze from Tormin’s passive, is dispelled by the cleanse effect that follows even on the possibility that she gets frozen from the buff because it was all a single action. So long as you forego any other buff or turn boost before her, and any additional buffs after her, the nukes go off, and if the Tormin was stuck into the lineup as a lowbie just for the passive, that’s going to be all she wrote for the Tormin on the enemy team.

This is presuming a speed nuke setup of course, with booster -> buffer (Battlesage) -> debuffer/Nuke1 -> Nuke. If you have Battlesage first in the chain with no turn booster then you don’t even have to forego anyone in the chain. I just lobbed an attack with my Apothecary because the Tormin team was slower, likely deliberately so since a Tormin team wants the opponents to try and buff up before them.

IMO, she needs 5-star for Arena JUST for that feat alone.

  13. Justin

What do you think about the new forged artifacts? I’ve gotten better stats from them that the older artifacts.

  14. TheTodmeister

So essentially, she’s a step up from Spirithost in CB since she applies the attack bonus, and removes the debuffs in one action, rather than needing two like Spirithost.

It seems like a trade up at least? My experience has been that Spirithost’s debuff block being only one turn offers little to no actual protection since the other champions fire off after her, and they all before the Clan Boss/other opponents, so essentially the opponent debuffs almost never hit the block.

@Colin: Thanks! I have updated Nature’s Touch skill description.

  16. Colin

    Proper wording:

    Nature’s Touch (Cooldown: 4 turns)
Places a 50% [Increase ATK] buff on all allies for 2 turns, then removes all debuffs on all allies. This buff cannot be removed.

@ayumilove. Im still experimenting. With helmsmasher in cb she gets the same amount of health back each turn in regen (for me in nightmare cb it is just over 6k at the moment with ring still to max from level 12 to 16). In lifesteal she sometimes only gets 3500k on her a1 attack and obviously nothing on the other 2. I use her mainly for her a2 and a3 support. I’m changing her into warmaster as it will suit my set up for cb and dungeons better. I’ll need to check out stalwart as well. This is a brilliant site by the way. Im on it every day for both my p2p and f2p account. The set up stars up to epic are excellent to use when figuring out your dungeon teams. Thanks so much for keeping it going and keeping it up to date with all the new stuff coming out 🤗🤗

  18. Ayumilove Post author

@Gayle Adam: You can use any sets you feel fit for your current Clan Boss difficulty. However, Lifesteal Set or Stalwart Set are commonly used in higher difficulty of Clan Boss to enable champions to survive long in battle.

  19. Gayle Adam

For Clan Boss she should be in Regeneration not LifeSteal. She only has one offensive manouver to action L. S. Regen is applied even if coming out of stun.

  20. Ayumilove Post author

@androgamer: Thanks for sharing your Battlesage gear setup! I have added Stun Set into the equipment recommendation.

  21. Ayumilove Post author

@AliasOfMine: Battlesage is a good support champion to whittle down enemy champions Arena if they are build with high amount of Defense. You can swap Helmsmasher with Warmaster if you plan to use her mostly for Dungeons instead of Arena. It’s up to where you want to use her. The mastery is just a reference 🙂 Like for example, I have Skullcrown who uses Helmsmasher to take down Arena champions, but I also still use her in Ice Golem’s 20 (last stage), to whittle down the boss minions too, since enemies at higher level will also have high amount of defense.

  22. Ayumilove Post author

@alphallama: If you are lacking of good champions to progress in Dungeons, then you can opt for Warmaster for Battlesage to deal much more damage against bosses and his/her minions.

  23. Ayumilove Post author

@LolaRent: It would depend on how you would like to build Battlesage. For most end-game content, almost all supporter champions will be build more defensively and tanky, so they can support their attack role champions. You can build her high attack, so she can recover more health from Life Steal set too. This setup is usually used for early-mid game content.

  24. LolaRent

    Hi Ayumi,

maybe this is a newbie question but shouldn’t she has some attack do heal more from her life steal set`?

  25. m015t

She needs more love. She’s more than decent IMHO

  26. alphallama

    Hi Ayumi,

Love the site and thanks for all the help. I wanted to ask, why go with helmsmasher over warmaster or even the cdmg? i can see her being one of the best champs for spiders den being that she is aoe and fully booked does about 25% more dmg. Wouldn’t a chance to proc wm on her a1 help her not only stay alive longer but do more dmg to spider and spiderlings? Just my 2 sense. Can’t see where else i can use her other than fw and spiders.

  27. AliasOfMine

Why would she use helmsmasher over Warmaster?

  28. androgamer

i am building a battlesage for speed tuned clan boss team, her a2 removes all debuffs and places increase attack on all allies every 3 turns, perfect for clan boss. also her a1 aoe (great with stun set) and speed aura all battles makes her very good for arena and all dungeon waves 🙂

  29. Franko

I don’t really know why Battlesage doesn’t get more love! I use her in my Spider 20 auto as a lead. She’s actually quite good. With retribution, she can keep herself alive with a lifesteal set or come in clutch with a stun or freeze set. I’ve tried them both. I settled on a lifesteal set in case my tank goes down. Her A2 is amazing!

  30. Taademi

Her ATK Buff seems to be somewhat broken. Valerie does not extend it’s duration but instead overwrites it. Also the Arcane Keep boss sometimes deals enhanced damage if this is the only buff being active.

  31. Silver Spin

Why defense and HP when her skills are based on ATK?

  32. Action

    *all campaign battles through brutal

  33. Action

Cly. I can answer your question. Shes a void epic whose 1st skill is to hit all and can also give herself a attack buff. That means she can easily be made into a champ who can farm all campaign stages under 16 seconds. Even easier then let’s say a bellower who does not have the attack buff. So she can also solo dungeon stages up to stage 10 or so under a minute or so. Along with all that she removes debuffs which is huge. And also her ability to revive and a speed aura. Is she going to throw 3million on clan boss no. But for campaign, dungeon, arena and faction wars shes a champ who can throw down alot of damage to all enemies with her main skill while also throwing buffs up and reviving. I thought the same as you until I got her crit to 100 and crit damage over 150

  34. Joshua Padilla

Accuracy actually helps if using her for Spider’s den. With the frost, stun, or other debuff equipment.

  35. ClyDeft

    Hi Ayumi,

Not to be that guy, but can you explain why you would have her in God tier? I have her, but I have found she is not among the top tier Epics.. She has a pretty decent setup and definitely I can see her being A tier.. But I don’t believer or think she would be S/God tier.. There are much better epic champions.

The Aura is decent, but there are better speed Aura.. Her attack doesn’t dent one bit.. the only really good ability she has is her Attack boost, cause it gets rid of debuffs and cannot be removed if you ascended her.. 😀

  36. wayne

What would make hellsmasher the better option over warmaster or Crit Damage

  37. Ayumilove Post author

@Davorin: Thanks for pointing out! Battle Sage does not need accuracy as she does not apply any debuff on enemies. I have updated the Battle Sage equipment guide 🙂

  38. Davorin

    why would she need accuracy?
