Anax Overview
Raid Shadow Legends – Anax is an Epic Attack Spirit champion from the Undead Hordes faction where he is obtainable from Ancient Shards and Sacred Shards. Anax is added to Raid Shadow Legends in January 14th 2021 (Patch 3.20). Anax provides powerful single-target debuffs, which includes Decrease Defense, Weaken, Poison and Decrease Accuracy. This champion is exceptionally good for bossing (Clan Boss and Dungeons). It’s recommended to build Anax with high Accuracy to enable him to inflict those debuffs with minimal chance of enemies being able to resist them and have good champion supporters to protect him as he is quite squishy.
Anax Champion Lore
Anax’s old existence ended, and his new one began, with the Circlet of Kalreth. An arcane artifact created by the desert sorcerers of a long-dead Krokhan civilization to help protect their clan chiefs, it granted strength and protection to the wearer, but was also imbued with far more potent, secret magics.
The circlet became the symbol of the highest rank among the Dune Guards, warriors tasked with protecting the king of the mighty Ankha clan, which in ages past dominated a vast swathe of the Krokhan Desert. For many years they fulfilled their duties. No Ankhan ruler was ever slain by the enemies of the clan, until the reign of Sumrek the Conqueror.
Sumrek was powerful and expansionist, and made many enemies. A rival clan made an unholy pact with the Demonspawn assassin Vengarix, and the commander of the Dune Guards, Captain Anax, could not stop him from striking the fatal blow against Sumrek. Horrified at failing not only his ruler but the legacy of all Guard commanders who had gone before, Anax agreed to the ritual proscribed for those found wanting in the line of duty. When Sumrek was interred in his tomb, Anax was walled-up in with him, still alive. Upon his brow the Circlet of Kalreth remained, for the gravity of his failure meant the Dune Guards were disbanded, and it would never be passed on to another commander.
Anax’s fate was terrible enough, but the Circlet made it worse. Unbeknownst to any in the clan, the advantages that came to its wearer had a price. If the warrior who wore it failed in his duties to protect the king, it would maintain his life until he was able to extract vengeance upon the one who had struck the killing blow, if they themselves yet lived. The fact that Sumrek’s killer was an immortal Demonspawn ensured that Anax awoke to his Undead existence after dying of thirst still entombed with the corpse of his king.
How long Anax’s mind remained whole after that is impossible to say. All that is certain is that it was over six centuries before thieves disturbed Sumrek’s tomb, and when they did they found the former Captain of the Guard now a dusty, walking corpse, the Circlet of Kalreth still gleaming on his skeletal brow. He was, by this point, completely insane, having spent centuries trying and failing to escape.
Anax slaughtered the unfortunate thieves who had unwittingly freed him, their blood awakening the long-dormant poisons of his enchanted shotel blades. He then stumbled from the accursed tomb and staggered off into the desert, and the night.
It took centuries more for Anax to recover even a fragment of his own mind, only the arcane pull of his crown giving him the merest degree of focus. He latched on to the belief that he had to track down Vengarix, for while a Demonspawn could not be truly killed, he hoped that slaying Vengarix’s physical body would be enough to grant himself a reprieve, and the end to his maddened existence he craved. While that may be the case, finding Vengarix has proven to be a challenge, for the Demonspawn assassin is a shadow that seems to live more in legend than in Teleria’s reality. Anax’s deathless quest continues, and stories of the wandering, raving Undead ‘king’ abound, the tellers not knowing that the crown he wears upon his ancient skull is not actually a sign of kingship and authority, but a terrible curse.

@Thepunisher, what gear do you use for Anax?
I am confused as to why you have him built for defense when he is an ATK champion. Is it just to have him as a debuffer?
Is there any way of him work on a killable team?
@ftnben. Yes anax is amazing his multipliers on his A1 is insane one of the hardest hitting in the game, mines hits for 400k per A1 about 280k A2 and A3 about 200k. He is a monster of w damage dealer, I don’t use my Draco anymore because, of him even on weak affinities.
Currently running Lilitu, Siphi, Vizier, OB and Geomancer. I feel like I have too many poisons and want to add Dec Def, Weaken. I love Vizier, not having to worry about keeping debuffs up, just need to lay all I need in the first round. I am thinking Fahraken, Anax, Vakyrie, Lilitu and Vizier. Would this be viable? Is Anax extraneous? Missing weakness without him. Geomancer and Rhazin could be better. Could use Ninja but HP burn competes with Fahraken, could use Feyne/Venomage but I’m back in the too many poisons situation. Draco would be a dream, but havent pulled him yet. Any thoughts or other suggestions?
This guy is built for Roshcard block damage unkillable teams. I use Anax with Tower, skullcrusher, Brogni and Sandlashed using sandlashed to extend all the buff and Anax is hitting really good numbers. Around 17/18 million in one key Nightmare runs. His A1 hits for 80-100k each hit and with the count attack up and high accuracy the decease defence is on the clan boss 95% of the time
Why is there overall hp/def gear in the guide?
Everyone I have seen has used full off gear.
@Richard Petzoldt: You need a champion who can apply Decrease Attack debuff on the Clan Boss, otherwise he will nuke your team pretty hard. I would swap Frozen Banshee with Anax since he can provide a more stable Poison debuff on the Clan Boss. Frozen Banshee will sometimes miss her Poison Sensitivity, which leaves her being unable to apply Poison debuff until she is able to put it up on the Clan Boss.
@Ogun Ajala: I have added 5 turn cooldown on Anax’s passive skill. Thanks!
@martin: Anax A1 hits twice. So that means 3.2 x 2 = 6.4 damage multiplier, which makes him a very powerful champion that deals tons of damage on his basic attack. Anax is similar to Candraphon who hits very strong on their basic attack https://ayumilove.net/raid-shadow-legends-candraphon-skill-mastery-equip-guide/
Just a question on his A1, is it a 3.2 overall or is it a 3.2 per hit 2 times?
Can you add that his passive is on a 5 turn cooldown?
Just pulled my second Anax. Currently have the first one fully booked and built for CB. Suggestions for the second one?
I just got Anax right after getting and leveling Occult Brawler to go with Frozen Banshee. Can Anax replace Stag Knight in a CB team or should I have both. My choices to pair with FB, OB are Anax, Stag, Vrask, Apothecary, and Roshcard.
Consider adding Deadwood Jedi’s clan boss video (Bateater).
@FHR If tuned correctly, extra turns on an attack champ don’t mess up unkillable. You just need them to take their turn before unkillable is placed for that round. In the case of Anax’s passive, it will be immediately following damage from the boss, so it is ideal for unkillable.
Would his passive mess up an unkillable comp?
@Ogun Ajala: I have added MurderInc’s video on Anax to the page. Thanks for sharing!
There is one video out so far:
