Amius the Lunar Archon Cursed City Boss Guide | Raid Shadow Legends Bosses
Amius the Lunar Archon stands as a tragic figure at the heart of Sintranos in Raid Shadow Legends, a city once radiant and prosperous in the realm of Kaerok but now consumed by corruption and shadow under the influence of Siroth. Once a regent driven by noble intentions, his fall from grace began with forbidden sorcery, an act born of desperation to save his beloved city but ultimately twisting him into a dark embodiment of both hope and despair. From his throne in the foreboding Eclipse Tower, Amius reigns over Sintranos, where brave warriors must navigate treacherous streets, confront menacing double bosses, and secure three hidden Eclipse Keys scattered across the city’s four districts. These keys unlock the path to the tower’s apex, where a decisive battle against Amius offers not only the chance to vanquish his corrupted rule but also to restore Sintranos to its former splendor. Yet even in victory, vigilance is paramount, for the cycle of darkness perpetually threatens to rise anew, ensuring that this fight is not merely about survival but about breaking the tide of evil and reviving the lost glory of a once-great city.

Amius has two sets of stats, one for Normal difficulty and another for Hard difficulty. To successfully apply debuffs on Amius, you’ll need 400 Accuracy for Normal and 500 Accuracy for Hard. Surviving his devastating nuke attacks requires a minimum of 70K HP and 2K Defense on Normal, while Hard demands 90K HP and 3K Defense. The Ultimate Handbook for Beating Amius!

Avoid Cooldown Reduction Effects with Amius Abyssal Construct

  • Do not use any abilities, masteries, or accessories that reduce skill cooldowns. These reductions can prematurely trigger Amius Abyssal Construct’s (A1) ability in his alternate form, causing it to randomly nuke a champion on your team while ignoring enemy defenses. Additionally, reducing skill cooldowns can reduce cooldown with Amius’ passive skill in his base form, disrupting your champions’ attack sequence.
  • Avoid using Cycle of Magic support mastery, Refresh accessory, Reflect artifact, Impulse Artifact, Merciless Artifact, and any other cooldown reduction abilities.

How to Counter Amius’ Buff/Debuff Manipulation Abilities

  • Amius has the ability to dramatically alter the course of a battle by manipulating buffs and debuffs. In his Maniacal Bedlam form (A3 Alternate Form), he can convert any buffs on your champions into debuffs, while in his Rampant Chaos form (A3 Base Form), he can transform debuffs applied to himself into buffs. This allows him to become stronger and deal more damage to your weakened champions in unexpected ways.
  • To counter this, it’s wise to avoid using abilities or masteries that extend the duration of buffs and debuffs, as you’ll want these effects to expire quickly—before Amius switches forms and turns them against you. Only apply positive stat buffs or negative stat debuffs if you’re confident you can defeat Amius before he transforms.
  • If you must use positive stat buffs on your champions, do so during Amius’s Base Form and ensure they have a maximum cooldown of 2 turns (avoid using Lasting Gifts masteries). Conversely, if you need to apply negative stat debuffs to Amius, do so during his Alternate Form, again with a maximum cooldown of 2 turns (and avoid Master Hexer masteries). This strategy minimizes the risk of Amius exploiting these effects when he changes forms.

Key Strategies for Surviving Amius’s Attacks

  • Focus on these four key abilities to take down Amius: Decrease Attack, Heal Reduction, Healing, and Taunt/Veil/Ally Protection. They are vital for surviving his relentless attacks.
  • Decrease Attack mitigates the damage from Amius’ alternate form nukes. Inflict Decrease Attack during Amius Base form only when his passive skill is on 1 turn cooldown. When he transforms into his Alternate form, he won’t be able to do much AoE damage to your champions. Recommended champions are Stag Knight, Fayne, and Aox the Rememberer.
  • Applying Heal Reduction stops Amius from healing himself during form transitions. Use Heal Reduction specifically when Amius is in his Alternate form and has two Eclipse buffs active on him. Recommended champions are Minaya, Kallia, and Scion.
  • Use Healing keeps your champions alive. If you’re short on healers, rely on artifact sets like Regeneration Set, Immortal Set, or Guardian Set to maintain your team’s health.
  • To influence which champion Amius targets during his alternate form, use abilities that apply Taunt or Veil. These skills can redirect Amius’s attacks to a durable champion, ideally one with high awakening levels. For Taunt, recommended champions include Khafru the Deathkeeper, Emic Trunkheart, and Ambassador Lethelin. For Veil, consider using Duchess Lilitu or Tatura Rimehide. If you do not have either Veil or Taunt champions, you can use Ally Protection buff to share damage across 2 champions, so the damage is halved and allowing your champion to survive from Amius single-target nuke!

Essential Tactics for Defeating Amius

  • Select champions capable of ignoring enemy defense or dealing damage based on the enemy’s maximum HP to quickly eliminate Amius in his base form. Boost their damage output by equipping them with Savage, Lethal, or Cruel sets, which help bypass enemy defenses. Pair this with the Helmsmasher mastery to further reduce enemy defense. Ideal champions for this strategy include Sun Wukong, Georgid the Breaker, and Onryo Ieyasu.
  • Another option is to use champions who deal damage based on the enemy’s maximum HP. This type of damage scales with the enemy’s HP, meaning higher HP results in greater damage dealt. Recommended champions for this approach are Armiger, Coldheart, Marius the Gallant, Gnut, and Acrizia.
  • If your team lacks champions capable of bypassing defense or dealing damage based on the enemy’s maximum HP, consider using champions who can apply HP Burn or Poison debuffs. These debuffs are effective against high-HP enemies like Amius because they scale with the target’s maximum HP. Strong options for inflicting HP Burn include Drexthar Bloodtwin, Ninja, Artak, and Elenaril. For applying Poison debuffs, consider using Dark Kael, Occult Brawler, or Fenshi. Additionally, equipping your champions with the Toxic Set can help apply Poison debuffs to Amius.

Prevent Endless Revival Loops

  • Focus on defeating Amius in his base form to secure victory. Avoid using Brimstone Blessing or Soul Reap Blessing, as these can unintentionally kill him in his alternate form, triggering a revival with 30% HP and 50% Turn Meter. This endless loop can extend the battle indefinitely, making it harder to win before reaching the 1,500-turn limit. However, if you are lacking damage dealers, you can opt for Brimstone to assist with taking down the boss but it will take some RNG/luck for it to defeat it in his base form.
  • On the other hand, you can use champions who can perform Block Revive such as Lydia the Deathsiren to counter Amius’s revive on death when he is in his alternate form.

Take advantage of the Champion’s Awakening

  • The Amius Abyssal Construct (A1 in Alternate Form) can instantly knock out your champion in one hit by ignoring 100% of their defenses if they have no awakening levels. To counter this, it’s crucial to include champions with high awakening levels on your team. These champions should be able to draw the attack towards themselves, which can be achieved using abilities like Taunt, Veil, or Perfect Veil buffs.
  • Each awakening level on a champion reduces the amount of defense that Amius can ignore by up to 50%. Here’s how the reduction works based on the number of awakening stars:
  • ★★★★★★ (6 stars): Reduces Amius’s Ignore Defense by 50%
  • ★★★★★✰ (5 stars): Reduces Amius’s Ignore Defense by 40%
  • ★★★★✰✰ (4 stars): Reduces Amius’s Ignore Defense by 30%
  • ★★★✰✰✰ (3 stars): Reduces Amius’s Ignore Defense by 20%
  • ★★✰✰✰✰ (2 stars): Reduces Amius’s Ignore Defense by 10%
  • ★✰✰✰✰✰ (1 star): Reduces Amius’s Ignore Defense by 5%
  • ✰✰✰✰✰✰ (0 stars): No reduction in Amius’s Ignore Defense (0%)

Buffs such as [Continuous Heal] and [Strengthen] will be replaced with [Heal Reduction] and [Weaken] debuffs respectively. All mirrored debuffs last for 3 turns. The buff removal is not affected by RES, but placing their debuff equivalent can be affected by RES. Then, places a [Sleep] debuff on all enemies except Mythical Champions for 1 turn. This debuff cannot be blocked or resisted by any means. Also, forces all Mythical Champions to change Form. Finally, fills Amius’ Turn Meter by 10% for each buff converted into a debuff by this skill.

@Juan: Amius possesses a passive ability that allows his A1 skill, Abyssal Construct, to activate in his Alternate form and randomly strike a champion, bypassing 100% of their defenses if they aren’t awakened. This passive triggers when your champion reduces their skill cooldown through any means—whether via skills, artifacts, accessories, or masteries. So, if your champion uses a skill on Amius and then something shortens their cooldown before their turn ends, Amius can interrupt and retaliate against your champion with his A1 attack.

He is attacking in alternate form with a1 when its not his turn. Why? To be clear, i know that when cooldown is decreased he does that. But in this case clearly its one of my champions turn, skill bubbles appear and when i press one, the champion does no thi g and instead the lunar archon amius kills it with A1.
