His legendary feats have spread fear among the Demonspawn and Undead, with tyrants and necromancers alike falling to his blade. Now, as a Void Legendary champion, Onryo carries his sacred mission into the game, delivering swift justice to those who threaten the realm with their dark powers.
Onryo’s skills make him a devastating single-target damage dealer, beginning with Exorcism Cutter (A1). This attack strikes twice but can deliver up to four hits if the enemy is buffed, particularly against the Undead Hordes faction. Killing a target grants him an extra turn, allowing him to chain attacks in rapid succession. In Arena battles, this makes him a perfect counter to champions like Rotos the Lost Groom and Siphi the Lost Bride, who rely heavily on buffs for survival. His ability to capitalize on buffs and deliver extra hits ensures that no enemy is safe, especially when facing heavily fortified teams.
The Violent Purification (A2) ability is the heart of Onryo’s destruction. This skill not only destroys up to 50% of a target’s MAX HP but also increases its damage with each buff and debuff present, stacking up to 100%. When the enemy is slain, Onryo blocks any revives, making him invaluable in encounters where resurrection is a threat. His focus on HP destruction, combined with the ability to deny revives, makes him a must-have for dismantling high-HP Nukers and support champions, particularly in Arena or against debuff-heavy teams.
Finally, Onryo’s Final Vengeance (A3) slices through defenses, ignoring 50% of the target’s defense and bypassing powerful buffs like Stone Skin, Shield, and Strengthen. Onryo Ieyasu Champion Lore Synopsis
Onryo leyasu is a mysterious, tireless figure who roams the lands of Yakai, hunting down evildoers and dark creatures. His origins are shrouded in mystery, and no one knows his true name. Armed with both a blade and a bow, leyasu is known for his relentless pursuit of Demonspawn tyrants, warlords, and undead abominations, destroying them with ease. Though he has saved many innocent lives, leyasu never stops to receive praise or gratitude. He is constantly driven by unseen forces, moving from one battle to the next, guided by magic and intuition to eradicate evil wherever it may be found.
Long before Yakai was formed, leyasu was once a great warrior during the time of the Dawnlands. His people revered him so much that he was given a sacred burial, with charms and talismans meant to protect his body from corruption. These wards worked for centuries, preserving his corpse in near-perfect stasis. But when Siroth unleashed the Scourge of Darkness upon the land, even leyasu’s powerful protections couldn’t fully stop a seed of undeath from taking root within him. Over time, this dark magic twisted his body, and a new mind was formed from the eternal struggle between light and dark forces trapped within his corpse.
After centuries entombed in the earth, leyasu’s body was accidentally unearthed by workers, who were promptly killed by the newly awakened revenant. With an innate sense of purpose, leyasu began his crusade against the forces of darkness, driven by an unrelenting desire to destroy evil, including himself. Rumors spread quickly of a ghostly hunter targeting the tyrannical Mikage rulers and their undead minions. His swift and brutal attacks on both Demonspawn aristocrats and undead armies struck fear into the hearts of his enemies, and even the Mikage leadership acknowledged leyasu as a serious threat.
As leyasu’s legend grew, so did the efforts to stop him. Morikore the Pitiless, a feared tyrant, assembled his finest warriors to hunt leyasu but met a grisly end. Even Tsukyu, a powerful necromancer, attempted to subdue him with her magic and her monstrous creations, but leyasu’s holy blade effortlessly destroyed her undead abomination. When Tsukyu tried to control leyasu with dark spells, his magical wards reflected the sorcery back on her, leading to her swift defeat. No one, not even the strongest necromancers or warlords, could withstand leyasu’s unrelenting force.
Even after the fall of the Mikage autocracy, leyasu’s mission remains unchanged. He continues to roam the lands, forever hunting those who dabble in dark magic or undead reanimation. His presence is so feared and widespread that many believe there could be more than one leyasu, with the burial rites that created him possibly used on other warriors in the distant past. Now, the Three Sovereigns of Yakai have pledged to uncover the truth behind leyasu’s existence, calling upon the people to help track down the elusive avenger.
