Raid Shadow Legends – Ruffstone is a Rare Attack Force affinity champion from the Ogryn Tribes faction where he can be obtained from Mystery Shards and Ancient Shards. Ruffstone was added to the game as part of the Pyxniel Legendary High Elves Champion Fusion on December 14th 2020. Ruffstone has an AoE attack on his default skill similar to Bellower, which makes him quite useful in few areas based on the artifact he uses. With the AI customization, you can preset Ruffstone to only use his A1 skill (default attack) against mobs of enemies. With this setup, you can build him as a Campaign Speed Farmer with Offense and Speed Set, Spider’s Den Tank Bait in Lifesteal Set, or Faction Wars crowd controler in Stun Set! Ruffstone is a decent champion alternative if you aren’t able to summon any champion with AoE attack such as Bellower from Void Shard.
@Geldo, most of the hype originated from before you can set AI.
Then Ruffstone would start with single hitters making him not very usefull for farming campaign.
Now All decent damage dealers with an AOE A1 is at least a decent farmer.
It’s because Ruffstone is force affinity which means he’s weak hitting a good portion of his attacks as 12-3 is all spirit affinity
Excuse my question please, but i struggle to get behind the hype of Bellower versus Ruffstone in terms of a 12-3 speedrunning champ. Am i missing something important?
Sure, Bellower has some Debuffcontribution, nice to have in FW and elsewhere. But per definitionem every wave should be blown away by their first AOE-shot, so that debuffs and survibilitystuff can’t matter.
Ruffy has +33% more ATK (matters).
Bellower has +43% more DEF and +6,3% HP (both useless here).
Bellower has a +5 advantage in ACC (also useless here).
Both have the same C-Rates, C-Damageboni and also the same Basespeed, so both must upgrade the same amount to reach the speed to top the wavenemies (~110 SPD i guess).
Ruffstone A1 multiplier (3) +15% upgrades = 3,45 multiplier.
+33% Base-ATK, directly benefitting all multipliers = 4,6 endresult.
Bellower A1 Multiplier (2,6) + 15% Upgrade = 3 endresult.
Bellower A2 Multiplier (4,2) + no Upgrades = 4,2 endresult.
Bellower A3 Multiplier (3,6) + 10% Upgrades = 4 endresult.
So giving the fact, that both use ATK as their spellbasestat, Ruffy’s A1 beats Bellower’s A1 by +53,33% more damage,
Bellower’s A2 by +9,5% and
Bellower’s A3 by +11,5%.
Why on earth should i want a Bellower as a speedfarmer for 12-3 brutal, if Ruffy has WAY more value in every aspect that matters for brute AOE-Damage? (As i said, excuse my question please, if i missed out a major point like “his AI will never use his A1 before his A2 and A3 aren’t fired” and am therefore mistaken).
TL:DR = Ruffstone has better damage, why is Bellower hyped as the better speedfarmer?
my team lvl 60 miscreated monster, apothecary, lvl 50 ninja, doomscreech, ruffstone (2 last in 6* relentless gear, ruffstone with 100% critical chance) – enabled me to pass lvl 9 spiders den dungeon(2-3 lvls advancement), takes few minutes to pass, but no risk of loosing a hero, at higher level not enough damage output to handle spider’s healing). unfortunatelly not strong enough to surivive 1st boss/minion attack in lvl 7 faction wars for Ogryn Tribe(overpowered boss as in undead horse)
@Ayumilove: Thank you so much for your reply. But I rushed and used him as a food already. I am FTP player and I couldn’t put resource on a champion I can’t use for long. I saw his low defence and thought he is bad and sacrificed him 🙁
I still struggle in Spider and can’t go do stage 10. May be he would have helped a lot. My bad. Anyhow, thank you sooo much for taking time to reply and I refer this site a lot of times a day (even visiting the same page again and again). God bless you.
@Ken: Ruffstone mastery is now available!
@RRC: I tested Ruffstone in Faction Wars and he is quite decent in Stun Set to crowd control the enemies. He is a good substitute if you do not have Bellower summoned from Void Shard! In addition, he can be also tuned to be a Spider’s Den tank bait by having him in Lifesteal Set with Warmaster mastery and decent amount of HP, Defense and Resist to tank the spiderling’s Poison attacks!

he might be junk in the past but now he can be a speed farmer i think. you can choose which skill to use after all.
Hell Hades says he is one of the junkest.. but his Attack All enemies on A1 seems good. Anyone has invested in him and found him useful? I am a F2P player and can’t concentrate on many champs. Currently I am struggling with Spider (can’t go past Stage 9) and considering to invest in him.

Slobbering rush seems to have been changed.
He’s not a skullcrown on A1, but probably one of the strongest rare A1’s.
His A3 gives extra turn half the time….think of it this way, when A3 procs the crit.. it’s almost as if you get a critical (harder) version of a critical hit. That is some serious damage.
When will you post the mastery tree for him?

I threw avenging set on Him just because I had all 5 star Pieces with the Right stats
and Immortal Set
Crit rate Gloves / ATT% Chest / Speed Boots
He does NOT need any ACC , So SUBs I went
Crit Rate , Speed , Resistance, Crit damage
Just using in Faction wars right now So I will take him up to 50
and see how he Compares to other damage Dealers
If you are adding masteries on him use offense side: CR, Keen Strike and shield breaker next line down whirlwind and ruthless ambush > wrath of slain and cycle of violence > kill streak maybe methodical finally warmaster or Helmsmasher since it compliments his skill. Then you decide if you want Defense or Support Tree. I would lean toward Defense on this one.

cruel set is the best for ruff by far. he’s a BEAST in arena offense.
I started a secondary free to play account yesterday and pulled him on my first ancient shard. He is killing it! Using him as my farmer over Kael. Will be throwing a Stun set on him first chance I get.

Just pulled him on my FTP secondairy account. As masteries i would think skip support tree, because the lack of debuffs thus attack tree, crit rate, crit damage, then stay on the left and go for warmaster or helmsmasher, defense tree I would go +75 defense, less damage from AOE, “Resurgent”, “Delay death” ending with the counter masteries “Retribution” and “Deterence”. Great aoe counter.

Why rating here is so low? In-game ratings are so much higher. I know sometimes they are off.. but such a spread?
I’m still leveling up this guy, but I put him in a half decent set of Destroy gear to get up his crit and crit damage, and he does hit pretty hard with his a1. He could very likely turn into a speed farmer for opposite affinity run stages, and he could also be the star of my FW team against the waves.
I still need to get his level and damage up higher before I can see if he will prioritize properly though.
this champ are your budget farming after sister militia for force affinity 10/10
if you have 800 gems go max his masteries ASAP, before your level account reach lvl 40, since many player(below lvl 40) are using magic-affinity-based champ.
