Relickeeper Review

Raid Shadow Legends – Relic Keeper is an Epic Force Attack champion from The Sacred Order faction. He is obtainable from Ancient Shard, Legendary Shard and Fusion system (fusing multiple farmable Campaign champions to get this champion).

Relickeeper Purpose

  • Relic Keeper is well-renowned as the “glass cannon” because his equipment build revolves around his Extra Turn skill. His skill “Crusade” grants him an Extra Turn for each successful kill, making him a very dangerous killing-spree champion.
  • Therefore, it’s recommended to equipped him gear that has a lot of Critical Rate, Critical Damage and Attack stats and substats on him for a guarantee kill. However, he will also need some Speed so he will be the first champion to start the turn in the battle.
  • Otherwise, it will be pointless to be the most powerful champion but in the graveyard if Relic Keeper is killed before he even starts his turn. You can increase his speed by having him paired with a Speed champion (e.g. Arena, Dungeon) or equipped him with a Speed boots or have equipement that provides additional Speed substats.
  • Relic Keeper is commonly used for Campaign farming and Arena but less for bossing such as Clan Boss and Dungeons. Therefore, Relickeeper masteries to be selected are the ones ones that improves his survivability (e.g. Bloodthirst, Blood Shield, Delay Death) and damage to perform a guarantee kill (Heart of Glory, Ruthless Ambush, Flawless Execution).
  • In addition, Relickeeper is great against Champions such as Gorgorab, Shaman and Arbiter who has the ability to Revive or apply Revive on Death buff on their allies since he can 1 hit KO those revived Champions after every Extra Turn.

I feel like characters who might get extra turns probably does well in gear which heals every turn like Regeneration, Bolster or Immortal.

  2. Campa

    Apologies, I misspoke below.
Hordin is the other champion with an Increase Attack self buff (in fact, his kit looks broken).
That said, if you don’t get lucky by summoning Hordin, Relickeeper is an awesome champion for the reasons listed below (and you can fuse him whenever, to get duplicate champions or to use as epic tomes)

  3. Campa

    A follow-up comment:
Only 7 champions in the entire game grant an extra turn when an enemy is killed WHEN USING THEIR A1 (meaning the possibility of getting the extra turn IS NEVER ON COOLDOWN).

    These are:
Legendary: Jintoro (S tier) and Nogdar (C)
Epic: Drake (C), Hordin (B), and Relickeeper (“B”)
    Rare: Heiress (B)
    Uncommon: Dhampir (S)

Out of all these, only Relickeeper ALSO has a +50% attack buff to self THAT GRANTS AN EXTRA TURN.

Meaning he can give him self the +50% attack buff, get the extra turn, and start smashing people with his newly buffed a1, getting an extra turn every time he makes a kill, since IT’S NEVER ON COOLDOWN.

I have him at Level 60, Savage gear, and all masteries (helmsmasher).

He SINGLE HANDEDLY destroys ALL campaign content (where he also brings a +40% attack aura), ALL faction wars content, ALL doom tower content, and he smashes in Arena. Other champs rarely if ever even get a turn. All wave based content he totally owns. Once he starts hitting people, he doesn’t stop until he clears the wave, just one hit kills throughout.

This dude is so underrated it’s criminal. Take the time to invest in him to make him hit super hard, sit back, relax, and enjoy.

  4. Campa

Mid game player here. Relickeeper is maybe my best nuker at this point, and so much fun.
He’s almost never banned in Arena and it’s great to watch him destroy entire teams single-handedly thanks to his extra turn.
I have him at level 60 in Savage and Crit Rate, w all masteries. Gear could be better (Lethal and Fatal would be best, or at least Savage and Cruel) but it’s the best I got right now.
Crit rate gloves, and Atk% Chest and Boots.
He’s slow, but I have Deacon speeding up the team, Ronda weakening everyone with a first nuke wave, and Relic smashing people for 100k damage and killing any survivors.
Opponents don’t expect him to hit so hard and have to just sit and watch as he gets the extra turns. Plus the extra turns are on his A1 so he gets the extra turn every time he gets a kill AND it’s never on cooldown.
An underrated beast, if he’s built right he can crush in the Arena, Campaign, and Faction Wars.

Relickeeper is extremely strong with lifesteal, he is consistently my highest damage dealer, he even does okay against spirit affinity up to a certain point. I have him in def% armor to boost his def by 50%, goes a long way towards keeping him alive in protracted battles. He’s an awesome minotaur farmer as well as maybe the best campaign farmer

@Kyle & @ Alumilove I have found that the extra turns don’t stack in the sense that you get several in a row, but each extra turn is used there and then. So a kill gives an extra turn, relentless MAY give you and extra turn. If that extra go makes a kill you get another extra turn for the kill and so on. My Relickeepers might individually get 6-7 goes in a row if they get lucky with the Relentless odds plus getting kills too. Just one on his own has cleared the floor in FW many times, that is 5 kills but more turns than that. Having two Relickeeper in the same team often means the rest of the team don’t even get a look in when the two get on a roll. I did say it was fun 😀

  7. Ayumilove Post author

@Kyle: I believe the Extra Turns do not stack on Relickeeper. It’s recommended to just build him really strong for him to get a guaranteed Extra Turn from each kill through his A1 ability.

  8. Kyle

Sooooo, I’d guess he’s good in Relentless gear? I mean extra turns stack right?

  9. Slayer

This guy looked interesting so I thought I would grow one. As I was nearly there I also pulled one from a shard so ended up with two more or less at the same time. Put one in Relentless and Offence, took him to level 60 and fully booked him. Very good I thought and I like his extra go when he makes a kill. With the Relentless set, he very often gets an extra go (nearly 20% of the time) even if he does not make a kill. Then that extra go makes a kill so he gets another extra go for making the kill and so on. Lots of fun.

So yes, I decided to take the second Relickeeper up to the same level to see how the Dynamic Duo would get on. Brilliant. It is so much fun to see them taking down enemy after enemy between them with all those extra goes they both get. If one does not quite make a kill the second one then carries on where the first one left off and the killing continues. If you want a bit of fun, get two Relickeepers in relentless and turn them loose. All you need to do really is ensure you keep them alive with other team members or alternatively, ensure they will be revived to carry on again if they get killed. Enjoy 🙂

  10. Paul

I think Relic is a total bad agent. I actually have 2. I was wondering if there was multiple ways to set him up for various crusades.

  11. John

@Matt I think Spirithost and Melga both don’t have debuffs, and so don’t benefit from accuracy

  12. Matt

@CumbDunt other than Elh and RK, who else doesn’t benefit from Acc?

  13. CumbDunt

@Tanuvan If Relickeeper had -100 accuracy he would still work just fine. There is no missing by 5 feet in Raid because it doesn’t work that way. Every hit will connect no matter what. Therefore, accuracy would have no impact to Relickeeper as none of his damage or skills are required to place debuffs.

  14. Tanuvan

I know and understand the good reasons for picking offence and def trees, but wouldn’t more acc be a good choice as well? A person swinging a sword extra hard is just wasting time if he misses the target by 5 feet. Excuse the sloppy metaphor, but the point stands. Thoughts?

  15. Vadderung

@Mevailo Could be for high damage to beat the damage threshold for Scorch, as max-level Dragon is weak to Relickeeper’s Force affinity. You’d have to use a different build than a typical arena one though, else he won’t survive far enough into Dragon’s Lair

  16. Mevailo

In what world is relic keeper good vs dragon?

  17. Octavian

    @Lucas
Achar is your best choice to upgrade, in my opinion. Always go for God tier champs, especially when you don’t have lots of lvl60 champs

  18. Lucas

Hi @Ayumilove thanks for all the awesome content!
I’m quite new at the game and just fused Relickeeper….but im not sure who I should upgrade…atm I stand with:

-5 stars – Seducer, Galek, Relickeeper
-4 stars – Achak the Wendarin, Shaman, Warpriest, Kytis, Seneschal, Soulbond bowyer, Jizoh, Seeker, Steelskull, Torturehelm,
-3 stars – Raider, Ifrit, Grinner, Honor Guard, Slitherbrute, Marked, Bloodbraid and Hyria

I would very much appreciate some guidance….there are soooo many chars…im quite overwhelmed lol!
    Cheers.

what make relic keeper best is :
    1. all of his fusion are farm-able 10/10 F2P FRIENDLY.
    2. king of campaign (with his 40% damage in campaign, you can set idle your damage buffer (spirit host, etc)
    3. makes you realize your stupidity opening the ancient shard at early game.

Seriously man, by a little, I mean very little effort. You will definitely get the hero heroes needed for fuse relickeeper.

I know your luck is very bad(mine also, could be worse than you but dunno,i reach silver only with farmable heroes and that suck when seeing another account with legendary) it doesn’t mean it is impossible to get this hero below level 35. (I mean your account level)

and enjoy the joy of completing a brutal level campaign on auto only with farmable heroes (eg. valerie, saurus, axeman and another)

the moment where you can fuse relickeeper, (and without opening any ancient shards in the beggining of your account)

Your ancient shards are definitely more than 10-20 or maybe more (normal-brutal campaign completion reward plus farming potion)

  20. Jason

The recent nerf to Warmaster damage means his A1 no longer gives an extra turn if the killing damage is from Warmaster. I’d say this changes what’s best for his Arena masteries, or at least might reduce his usefulness.

  21. Yeletony

I am planning on fusing 9 relic keepers over time. One to use and 8 to book him, he is fused entirely from farmable rares, which means you can get all the pieces while farming xp/silver, which is what i do the most of anyway, and in the end get a 5 star arena damage dealer, seems like a win win

  22. Ayumilove Post author

@Darkeasterbunny: Relickeeper deals high single target damage but he is a slow farmer. He can do multiple kill within 1 turn if against neutral/weak affinity that has low HP base champions. However, he will lose his value very quickly against tougher opponents with more health and defense. I have a Level 60 Relickeeper and already tested and used his service for a very long time since the start of my account (approximately 8 months farming Minotaur Labyrinth tomes for my champions).

  23. Darkeasterbunny

Why the 3 star campaign? Seems to me that the combination of 40% to attack in campaign + the extra turn after killing makes him an excellent campaign runner. I might even go so far as to call it his only use. What am I missing?

  24. Krulman

@Pharmaboy anecdotally, it seems that extra turns accumulate while he’s taking extra turns from his abilities. Because of this, he is an extremely good candidate for Relentless.

  25. JD

@PharmaBoy Good question! I have so many good gear sets I never use, but I’d like to use them if possible.. even if some aren’t the ‘best’ sets it’s still more fun to use more sets than offense, speed & lifesteal imo. And yes, I’ve seen the artifact set guides here on ayumilove, but would LOVE to see suggested champion/set combos to try! Like under each artifact set description maybe a short list of some champions that could wear that set effectively.. at least for sets we’re all given free like the 2nd week retaliation set.

Anyway regarding Relickeeper.. it sounds like there’s no penalty for fusing him early, but there IS a penalty for fusing Justiciar early because we’d have to fuse him twice?! I fused Justiciar my 1st week when I didn’t know any better and thought fusing everyone asap was a good goal. So if I have to fuse Justiciar again soon.. well, it’s already too late for me anyway. Lol

Sooo.. guess I might as well get some use out of Justiciar and those 3 other champions I’m not using by fusing Relickeeper tonight. At least I can use Relickeeper to actually get to the ‘Fuse Relickeeper’ mission! Without him it’ll take forever just to pass the earlier arena silver missions with the weak AF champions I pull. Srsly my only S tier is Athel.. I don’t have a single legendary and the best champions I got from the 4-5 sacreds I pulled during the last boosted event were Alika & Frostbringer :'(

  26. PharmaBoy

How viable would a Relentless Set be with Offense (Gauntlets & Boots)?

  27. Molly Mirrorshades

At what point in my progress should I worry about making him? Am currently on Hard CM with my farmer at 5* working on 6*.

  28. Ayumilove Post author

@Dante: Not necessarily a resource dump especially for F2P (Free to Play) players and players who have awful RNG in getting excellent champions through Ancient Shard openings (even with Double Summoning Boost). I used Relickeeper to farm Minotaur skill tomes and battle from Silver I to Arena Gold IV in my Speed Nuke Team as I did not get any good Legendary/Epic champions for the past year from the start of playing the game.

  29. Dante

Compared to how much you need to use to fuse him, it doesn’t seem worth it really… There’s the mission obviously but kind of a resource dump if you ask me.

  30. Yuri

@Ayumilove i mean I have to fuse a second justicar its not relic but still

  31. Ken

What are his Ascend Materials once he’s fused.

  32. Ayumilove Post author

@Aeolwind: Personally for me I fused Relickeeper way before reach the Progress Mission for Relickeeper as I didn’t know about it earlier. I had the same thought as you whether I need to fuse another Relickeeper again when I reached to the Progress Mission but it did not occur to me. The Progress Mission just says I have completed it, so I did not need to fuse another one. I assumed that Plarium had already fixed the issue where players complain they had to fuse another Relickeeper to complete the Progress Mission.

  33. Aeolwind

If I fuse Relic Keeper now, will I get credit on the appropriate mission later? I’ve seen conflicting reports both ways.
