Vanguard Storyline
When the armies of Kaerok march to war, it falls up to every individual Lord or Lady to form their forces as they see fit. It is, however, both customary and logical to form the vanguard with a body of experienced and hardened warriors. To serve there is an honour many men-at-arms aspire to. To serve their suzerain in such a manner is both a privilege and a sure way to gaining a greater portion of loot once the battle is done. Their equipment and armour is always of quality make, allowing the warriors to withstand difficult battles. And their training ensures they are capable of trying the enemy down, keeping his attention focused on them, and allowing the rest of their allies to strike with impunity.
@Andy: Yes, any debuff or instant negative effect that is placed by the champion requires Accuracy unless stated unresistaable.
The passive needs ACC to effective?
Early game I put Destroy on Vanguard, use in Classic Arena to defeat opponents over-healing invincible champs. Also use in Tag Team for same purpose, counter invincible self healers.
This champions damage is based on ATK, according ingame info.
Damage Multipliers should say ATK not DEF

The focus on Def comes down to value. His attacks are single-target one-hitters and his base Atk is low. That means he won’t be doing much damage, even if you’d want him too.
But that’s not where his value lies. His A1 applies Decrease Def, if and only if his Deff is higher than target’s. So you want him to have as much Def as possible to make it the most reliable.
Second part of his value comes from his passive, which requires him to get hit. So you want high Def and/or HP so that he can get hit a lot.
That said, I don’t see much value in him besides maybe Magic Keep if you don’t have a better buff stripper.
I haven’t found much use for Vanguard and as much as I hate to do this to any Void, I am inclined to move him to my food list. Have to invest too much on defense to make him useful with his first skill attack and then by investing in that defense, the attack doesn’t stack up against other choices.
I just got my 2nd Vanguard and im not sure what to do with him. He looks like he can be a good character for Faction Wars, Potion Dungeons, and maybe even Arena, but I’m going to need a little more advice before investing in him a bit.
Curious why the focus on DEF stats and gear? Even tho he’s a DEF role all his attacks scale off ATK. Not familiar enough with DEF mastery tree but maybe OFF might be a better option there too?
