This dude is an incredible blessing for an early account. Not even 30 days in and i already got to 225 stars on nightmare campaign thanks to his absolutely ludicrous survivability. When fully booked the self heal, self shield, and self increase defense makes it almost impossible to take him down. I have him in mostly mediocre 5* level 12 gear and it doesn’t matter, he just doesn’t die. Pair him with a glass cannon Wukong and you will absolutely breeze through the campaign.

    Tagoar IS S++++ Tier!

He is my first pick in live arena, an absolute beast in faction wars, a mandatory carry in every dungeon, and the reason I was able to three star all the nightmare campaign stages (coupling Tagoar with Artak).

His kit is bonkers and I explained why in my prior post. 6 speed artifacts are the way to go, with speed boots, and Hp everywhere else!

The other S tier epics that I have are Deacon, Miscreated Monster, Rector Drath and Uugo.

Tagoar is better and more useful than Deacon and Miscreated Monster (although they’re amazing also), much better than Rector Drath, and WAYYYYY better than Uugo!

As an example, Rector Drath has an awesome heal on her A2, but if no allies are dead, her A3 is completely useless. With no dead Allies, Drath is basically just using her weak A1 until her A2 ends the cooldown period. She needs a buff on her A3!

Tagoar’s A3 revival can be used even with no dead allies to cast a really useful shield. He’s using his entire kit, all the time, and every attack is useful.

Tag also needs 10 books total, the same as Monster, but less than Deacon (13), Drath (11), and the super overrated Uugo (16!!).

Uugo is one of the most overrated champs in the game, and a waste of books, and the 0.99% pick rate in Silver 4 live arena only confirms this! She honestly doesn’t even make the cut on any of my tag team arena teams!

Thanks for all you do Ayumi!!! 🙂

Tagoar is great champion. He got me through faction wars to the end with 3stars. He does not do much damage, but it is not his main domain. I have build him with as much HP as possible, and now I am adding a little more def or in stalwart to stay alive more than 25 rounds in CB. I dont use lifesteal build, so I need some another healing and he is doing that just great. Already even without masteries he is better choice than Scyl, even though Scyl with high def will stay longer alive, than him with only high HP.

  4. LazarouDave

I just wish his AI wasn’t so stupid, it uses the A3 for the Shield even when there are no dead allies!

    @Leon Smigelski

LOTS of HP and Speed, decent Def and Res. His kit needs basically zero Acc and he doesn’t do much damage. But he’s a very solid support champ.

    @Campa

Might want to rethink that. Tagoar is very solid, but Uugo is one of the best epics on the game, Void or not. She does so many things, is easy to keep alive, and is almost a soft carry on certain places.

  6. Leon Smigielski

I have just pulled Tagoar already having Uugo. I have been pondering on what to kit him out in. Reading through the comments below is helping in pointing me in the right direction.

  7. x333

Tagoar mastery for defense is not complete.I choose solidarity.

  8. Campa

Love your site Ayumi! Thank you for all you do! 🙏

I pulled Tagoar and Uugo at roughly the same time.
I invested heavily in Uugo as she was an S tier champion (Tagoar was rated B at the time).
After using both of these Champions extensively, I realized this was a mistake and 6-starred Tagoar before Uugo.

Because Tag is so much stronger than Uugo, and it’s not even close.

    Tag’s kit is just ridiculous:
an A1 that hits twice with a bonus Increase Defense on your weakest champion – solid.
An AoE attack A2 with an AoE Heal AND an AoE Increase Speed – hella solid!
But his A3 is crazy – an AoE revive that can be done at any time, PLUS an AoE shield based on Tagoar’s HP for all Champions, including Tag. That’s just insane. And you can use the A3 effectively as a second AoE heal when you have no Champions to revive.

Also, Tag is super simple to build. He’s fast, with faster base speed than Uugo, so three Speed sets work just fine.
HP% on gloves, chest, and boots to maximize Heals and Shields (or Speed boots for the Arena), and you have a tanky, fast, support champion w AoE revive that can be used at anytime.

On the other hand, Uugo is tough to build! she needs Accuracy for the (admittedly awesome) Maelstrom Wrack, Speed for the Arena, but also HP% and Def% to be able to use her Revival skill. The fact that Tagoar can revive ALL champions, at any time, or even cast the revival with no dead champions just to cast the AoE shield, while Uugo can revive ONLY when she is the last champion standing, is a HUGE ADVANTAGE for Tagoar.

In sum, while they’re both great, I give the edge to Tagoar over Uugo and think that the head to head comparison justifies making Tag S tier.

  9. Craig Lee

Ravenator, yes, give him his Masteries, it’s worth it.

  10. Craig Lee

Yes. Give him all those Masteries and he can carry a team through LOTS of areas.

  11. Ravenator

My Tagoar on Bolster and Immortal sets and doing what he’s supposed to do, reviving people and be a tank. Should I fully mastery and book him?? Opinions pls.

  12. Ravenator

I placed him on Bolster and Immortal sets. Seems to do a great job. Should I fully book him and full masteries?

  13. Kristian Törnkvist

I would actually argue for that Tagoar is 5 star for faction wars. He is the best healer and reviver in orcs below legos and got inc speed. Only reason I did 3 star stage 21 without a single lego.

@all: Updated Tagoar ranking from B to A based on Ken, MOney Moto, and Sepidaceous comments.

  15. Ken

Togoar is a top ranked A list, no less.
I’ve kitted him out with Regeneration and Accuracy.
His overall ability to keep the game alive with his AoE heal and revive suits all aspects of the game.
I feel with the regen kit, allows him to increase fellow members defence and shield quicker.
Just make sure his recommended stats are abide with. And you have one tough cookie.

  16. Money Moto

Tagoar is essentially Epic version of Duchess.

He is an A/S tier epic champion. No way is he B-tier. That’s crazy. He not only has an AoE heal on his A2, but he does an AoE revive on his A3. On top of that, he has a passive similar to Duchess. He reduces all damage taken by 10% for anyone under 50% health. Let’s compare him to duchess shall we?

Duchess is an S-tier legendary. Slightly worse versions of her abilities calls for an A-ranked epic minimum. I say he’s S-tier.

Duchess A1 – places a shield on the champion with lowest HP.
Tagoar A1 – places 60% increase defense on champion with lowest HP

Duchess A2 – places perfect veil on everyone
Tagoar A2 – attacks all enemies, places 30% speed on all Allies and heals everyone for 25% of Tagoar’s max HP.

Duchess A3 – revives everyone, places a continuous heal buff and puts them into veil
Tagoar A3 – revives everyone’s and places a shield on everyone equal to 20% of Tagoar’s HP.

Duchess passive – reduces AoE damage allies receive by 25%.
Tagoar passive – reduces all damage by 10% for anyone under 50% health.

  17. Sepidaceous

I don’t understand why he’s ranked so low. He has a full team heal, a full team revive, a full team damage reduction, a speed buff, and his normal attack increases def on 2 allies by 60%. I’m sure there’s better heroes out there… but his ranking seems way too low on certain areas. Some single cast healers are ranked way higher on AOE based bosses. Doesn’t make much sense to me, seems like you’d want a full heal for AoE. If you think the heal is too low — bump his HP up.

  18. Zee

Thanks, Punisher. I’ve only been playing three weeks, so I don’t have a ton of great gear to put him in. I do have a regen suit, so I’ll try that. Just beat my first Doom floor, though!

  19. Thepunisher69

@Zee if you put him in regen with immortal or, use full immortal set you will get much better results. Bit of resist wont hurt go for hp Res Def

  20. Zee

Lacking guidance, I decided to put this guy in Speed, Resilience, and Life sets. He’s awesome. Especially when toward the end of the boss battle – as the last man standing – he revives… EVERYONE! I can’t emphasize that enough. He has an AoE “revive everyone” skill.

Sorry, boss, but we win. Seems like an ideal arena defense trait as well.
