@Hoody63 — no, that’s not right, but I doubt anyone gives this champion much thought because nobody uses him (since he’s not as good as he looks here). The stat priority here is also wrong IMO. So here’s how to think about it when considering gear: what would you use him for? This guy has 3 things going for him at first glance: his SPD aura, a small team ATK+, and two single-target CC (crowd control) debuffs, a stun and a freeze (low chance of the freeze which can’t be booked higher). The ATK+ needs no gearing. The debuffs don’t work on bosses, but they are fine for adjuncts, if only one at a time. Therefore you’d want him to have ACC and SPD, so he can land a debuff and do it quickly, before those adjuncts can get their own buffs or debuffs off. He hits only average, ergo no reason to waste ATK on him. So, two Speed sets and one Accuracy/Persistence set. If you made one of the Speed sets a Divine one, he gets some shield for protection. Protective DEF/HP for some survivability you’d get from individual gear pieces, plus extra SPD and ACC in sub stats.

Now, should you put that gear on him; is he worth any investment in very early game? Not IMO; I think he is also overrated here (3* on Dragon? Dragon doesn’t even have any adjuncts. And in Arena? Your basic starting lineup is better than he is; his SPD aura only works in FW. Spirithost has SPD aura in all battles and a big ATK+. He has no use at all in Campaign). I have a 4 week old baby account on which I just pulled him and while I only have run-of-the-mill champs for early Undead FW, I’ll feed him. 10 Rare books is too expensive in comparison to what I can get out of the farmables at that point. And putting a Stun set on Banshee is way better CC.

Story Idea: This mage was in the catatombs like many others. When the necromancers robbed the tomb, the magic surrounding the mage interfered… and the revived corpse began to rot.

No it is not. Even if this champion can be used only in faction wars (if used at all) , his priority is accuracy. The sets I use is Perception , Tenacity and Speed

Is the equipment set on Rotting Mage right, you have 2 speed sets and 1 life set?
