Sir Nicholas Overview

Sir Nicholas enters Raid Shadow Legends as a Legendary Void HP champion of the Sacred Order, a figure shaped by winter’s cruelty yet guided by mercy. Once a Lightbringer who rejected the Order’s ruthless crusades, he withdrew to the frozen north to protect the innocent, delivering aid from a grand lodge hidden among the snowbound peaks. Visually, he stands as both benefactor and commander, clad in silver plate and a fur lined crimson mantle, wielding a frost imbued holy blade that radiates quiet authority. He also holds a special place in the game’s history as the very first champion fusion, available from 14 February to 28 February 2019! Sir Nicholas is not a relic of past metas, but a reworked cornerstone of survival and control, a champion who transforms kindness into an unbreakable frontline and punishment into absolute battlefield denial.

At the heart of his kit lies precise lockdown and oppressive protection. His Boreal Blade (A1) strikes a single enemy with a strong chance to Freeze, a control effect that becomes completely reliable when Lady Noelle fights at his side, turning the attack into an irresistible and unblockable shutdown tool. This allows Sir Nicholas to neutralize priority threats before they can act, enforcing tempo from the opening turn. His Polar Protection (A2) expands this pressure across the field, striking all enemies while ignoring a portion of their Defense, then converting that damage into Strengthen and massive Shields for the entire team. These Shields scale directly from his output, reinforcing the idea that Sir Nicholas protects not by retreating, but by advancing, crushing enemy momentum while fortifying his allies.

His defensive mastery peaks with Goodwill (A3), a skill that places Unkillable and Continuous Heal on all allies, ensuring survival through even the most explosive enemy rotations. At the same time, Sir Nicholas gains Counterattack, and when paired with Lady Noelle, Taunt, forcing enemies to strike into his frozen guard. Each hit becomes an invitation for retaliation and control, locking opponents in place while his team remains untouchable. This is reinforced by Winter’s Warden, a defining passive that reduces enemy Ignore Defense effects against shielded allies. This protection becomes overwhelming when Lady Noelle is present, allowing the duo to withstand damage that would otherwise erase entire teams. Together, they create a cycle of denial where enemies cannot break through and cannot outlast him. Anchoring his team is an HP Aura that strengthens every shield and heal he provides, cementing his role as a foundation rather than a single purpose tank. Sir Nicholas thrives when built to preserve his buffs and amplify their impact, turning sustained pressure into inevitability.

Sir Nicholas reaches peak performance with the nine piece Protection set, which provides a 75% chance to keep his essential Unkillable and Shield buffs safe from being removed or stolen by champions such as Marius the Gallant. For players who prefer a more offensive approach, Merciless, Savage, or Lethal sets increase his ignore defense stat to deliver even greater damage. High end builds should focus on very high HP, crit rate, and crit damage to maximize his hybrid role as both nuker and support, while the Wand of Submission relic is strongly recommended to reflect crowd control and prevent polymorph. The six star Crushing Rend blessing further enhances his ability to ignore DEF, and masteries in the offense and support trees, including Helm Smasher for bonus damage and Lasting Gifts to extend buffs, complete his setup. Although he can serve as a solo damage dealer in lower tiers, he is most effective as a secondary nuker who ensures team safety, especially when Lady Noelle resets his cooldowns to recycle defensive buffs. With these synergies, Sir Nicholas stands out as a must build champion for players determined to dominate Arena defenses and high level PvE content in 2025 and beyond.

Sir Nicholas Champion Lore Synopsis

In the frozen Winterlands, north of the continents Peltas and Anhelt, a legendary figure named Sir Nicholas resides. This icy realm, long abandoned by humans after Demonspawn invasions, is rumoured to be home to this powerful and benevolent figure. Some describe Sir Nicholas as a mighty warrior who battles Demonspawn and the Undead with a holy sword. Others know him as a saviour, providing warmth and food to those trapped in the unforgiving cold of Teleria. No matter the version of the tale, everyone across Teleria reveres him by the same name, Sir Nicholas.

The legend of Sir Nicholas is widespread, celebrated by many cultures, from the Shadowkin of Yakai to the kingdom of Frostheim. Acts of charity, protection, and kindness are central to every story told about him. Though not all of these accounts may be completely accurate, Sir Nicholas remains indifferent to their truthfulness. What matters to him is the hope these stories spread, bringing light into the dark corners of the world. For many, these tales of kindness are a source of inspiration, though they are not universally accepted.

The Sacred Order, a powerful religious group, dismisses Sir Nicholas as nothing more than a myth. They actively deny his existence, despite the many stories and evidence of his deeds. Their refusal to acknowledge him stems from their own guilt. Sir Nicholas was once part of the Sacred Order, a Lightbringer known for his jovial nature and gift-giving. However, he left the Order when he could no longer support their cruel Red Crusade, which targeted the Skinwalkers. His departure left a deep wound in the Order, who felt ashamed of losing such a beloved figure.

Sir Nicholas’ decision to leave the Sacred Order marked the beginning of an exodus, as many others followed him in rejecting the brutal campaign. Yet, it was his departure that left the biggest scar on the Order’s leadership. His compassion and kindness had once been admired by all, even those who thought him too gentle for war. The Order’s leaders, in their shame, tried to erase all memory of him, hoping to keep their righteousness intact. But Sir Nicholas’ legacy of kindness outshone their attempts to bury it.

Even after his departure, Sir Nicholas has continued his mission of helping those in need. From his grand lodge in the Winterlands, he uses an enchanted sleigh to deliver aid across Teleria, often leaving gifts during the Yuletide celebrations. His actions remind people of the power of small acts of kindness, a quality that makes him beloved. This genuine love for Sir Nicholas fuels the Sacred Order’s jealousy, as they know that true loyalty and admiration cannot be forced, unlike their rigid rule.

    To be fair….

    TOOO BEEE FAAAIR…..

None of the abilities Roshcard has bring anything to the table when facing CB either.

I’ve never looked into block damage setups, but unkillable seems to be overwhelmingly more popular. I’m not sure if that’s because UK Champs are more accessible or if there’s another reason, but there certainly seem to be a lot more compositions available for UK which could answer why people seem to forget about their block damage counterparts.

Lastly, as both Sir Nich and Roshcard bring nothing to the table beyond their team survival skill the only thing that can be done is to compare their damage.

Roshcards A1 is based on atk despite being classified as an HP champion and his A2 is based on hp. For CB the clear focus should be atk for his A1 which is a 5 multiplier when booked (2×10% damage) becoming 6. That’s quite high, but its worth noting his base atk is 947 which is absolutely atrocious.

Sir Nich’s A1 is .25HP booked to .3125HP. Without atk buff he will hit much harder than Roshcard usually, but as there isn’t an HP buff it becomes possible for Roshcard to pull ahead. As long as we ignore affinity match ups that is. Roshcards dps will nosedive vs Force affinity whilst Sir Nich being void doesn’t have to worry aboutAFAIK.

I will probably just come down to which one do you have and if you have both then lucky you it’s dealers choice.

I pulled Sir Nich before I pulled Maneaters and looked into building a UK team and found out I doomed myself by booking him. Not many people have bothered to build a UK team with Sir Nich afaik.

@Ayumilove hello I am new to the site and I’m just wondering wdym “if the player doesn’t have any decent healers” I have sir nick and wanna use him in the 2 immortal 1 speed set because he would be my main DMG dealer and I’m just wondering what a good team would be (I’m a level 30 so I’ don’t have many champs) please help

  3. Brian

He sees you when you’re sleeping
He knows when you’re on the can
He’ll hunt you down and kick your ass
    From here to Pakistan!

    Oooh,
    You’d better not breathe,
    You’d better not move,
    You’re better off dead,
    I’m tellin’ you dude,
Santa Claus is gunning you down!

    (Apologies to Matt Groening.)

Shouldn’t Rapid Response and Cycle of Magic not be selected for Sir Nick for Clan Boss? Both of those can throw off his tuning for Unkillable tuned teams using him.

  6. Micky Dux

master hexer does not work on his only debuff freeze, so lasting gifts is way better. I would recommend him for arena also with attacking masteries unless you are high gold 4 or plat lvl. I have him double so thinking if i should let one eat the other after the patch with the dupe system.

Really good allround carry and doing it fast aswell.

  7. Apocacrux

I think Harvest Despair is far more useful than Stubbornness since leech is valuable to the whole team in faction wars and you can just gear sir Nick for the higher res.

  8. MrShovel

Why is he 5 star for CB and roshcard isn’t? Roshcard has a better version of goodwill because continuous heal doesn’t do anything for unkillable, and the A2 is useless in unkillable, since you won’t be dying until turn 50 or later. Roshcard is also easier to get, (not by much), so sir nick si just plain worse for clan boss.

  9. JointSlayer420

I pulled him the other day, wouldnt it be better to use master hexer instead on lasting gifts??

  10. Teacup

If you pair him with Scyl of the Drakes in relentless set, you will not need life steal.

  11. Teacup

Currently #1 in the champion training event, hopefully nobody else will catch up to me so I can get this guy.

  12. Enrico Fu

I hope I’ll get him through a fused summoning or by fragment summoning because I need his aid in the Arena too.

@HellBaker: This guide was released before the Unkillable Strategy was discovered for Clan Boss. I have updated Sir Nicholas rating for Clan Boss from 4 Star to 5 Star.

  14. HellBaker

@Ayumi, i love your site and effort, you are my first source of information, but i hv a question, why Sir Nick is not a 5 star in the CB ranking, as he puts the best Unkillable in the entire game, which is the most efficient strategy in the last CB?

  15. Ayumilove Post author

@phoenix: Sir Nicholas can put up more Shield if he deals more damage through stacking high amount of HP stats. This is one way he can make the team survive longer in battle. This strategy also applies to Valkyrie. It’s best pair him with another healer champion to take advantage of this skill. I’ll include Lifesteal Set for Clan Boss and Dungeons as the recommended equipment set in case there are players who do not have decent healer champions.

  16. phoenix

why you use life and speed for clan boss and no lifesteal set ?????
