Tormin the Cold Reference
Below is a reference of artifacts used for Tormin the Cold, which is optimized for Arena. He is equipped with Avenging Set and Accuracy Set. Avenging Set allows Tormin the Cold to counterattack enemies whenever enemies attack him with a critical hit! Accuracy Set provides additional Accuracy stat for him to inflict his Freeze debuff to his enemies. The stats prioritized for Tormin the Cold are Accuracy, Speed, Critical Rate, and Defense to enable him to deal damage to his target while crowd controlling them simultaneously. Accuracy plays a crucial part on all of Tormin the Cold skills as he can steal buff from enemies, apply Provoke debuff apart from Freeze debuff, and inflict Healing Reduction debuff to prevent the enemies from recuperating.
Tormin the Cold Champion Lore Synopsis
Dwarven folklore tells of a mysterious figure who commands the very essence of winter. Clad in armour coated with frost and wielding a hammer imbued with chilling power, this warrior is known by many names: the Ghost of the Forge, the Frozen Hammer, and the Winter Phantom. The most persistent legend links these titles to one tragic figure, Tormin the Cold, a Dwarf whose extraordinary journey transformed him from an outcast of his craft into a mythic figure who mastered both ice and iron.
Tormin was the son of a humble blacksmith in Gloomdeep Hold, but he struggled with the heat of the forge. Every attempt to work near his father’s furnace ended in physical pain, as the intense heat made him gag and ill. The only comfort he found was standing near a frigid air shaft, where the cold winds from the frozen north offered him a brief reprieve. Despite his deep desire to follow in his father’s footsteps, Tormin could not bear the heat, and one day, consumed by shame, he abandoned his home to seek solace in the far north.
For years, Tormin wandered the treacherous Mountains of Despair, until eventually, he sailed from Port Wretched to the distant Winterlands. His travels took him to a massive glacier, a land of eternal ice. When Tormin laid his hands upon the smooth, glass-like surface of the glacier, its icy spirit took hold of him. The frost seeped into his very bones, but rather than pain, Tormin felt an overwhelming sense of peace. The glacier’s enchantment not only transformed him but also imbued the forge hammer he carried with powerful, frozen magic.
After years of exile, Tormin returned to Gloomdeep Hold, no longer tormented by the heat of the forge. He approached the furnace that had once caused him so much anguish and, for the first time, felt no discomfort. Empowered by the glacier’s touch, Tormin worked tirelessly through the night, forging a set of magical armour that could withstand even the harshest of attacks. Once his long-held dream was fulfilled, Tormin mysteriously vanished, leaving behind only a frost-covered anvil and a trace of freezing mist.
Tormin’s fate remains unknown, but his legend lives on. Some Dwarven blacksmiths claim to sense his presence in their forges, feeling a cold breeze and hearing the faint echo of a hammer on ice. Whether a myth or reality, Tormin the Cold’s story continues to chill the hearts of those who hear it.

Faceless slaps him in the face for 100k damage, he curls up into a frozen ball and waits to get slapped again.
I love going up against groups who think their Dark Elhain is of any value what-so-ever against Tormin. It takes so very little to dispense with her, as opposed to her “answer” to his cold abilities.
I am sorry i cannot see why Tormin is so much hated to go agains in Arena. I love to go against Tormin Teams, he is a 99% win for me, every single player gets the answer agains Tormin for free… i dont get this Nerf crys… use Dark Elhain = Dead Tormin Team
I used to hate Tormin so much but I just got lucky and pulled him so they better not nerf him now.
Look, it’s really not impossible to beat this champ in arena. It’s just the same as Hegemon. This is what Immunity gear is for. Go and farm the Fire Knight. Also there are multipe champs that can cleanse and apply block debuffs in a single skill – Skytouched Shaman, Skathix, even Spirithost does it.
If you don’t have what you need to beat Tormin defences in arena, just farm your medals off someone else. No one is forcing you to attack. You choose every opponent.
This Hero is totally unbalanced and need a huge buff. it is really impacting negatively Arena play, after 15 min play and 7 revives it is really making impossible to beat it. when you are obviously stronger to it. It really require a limiting of the time it can revive, probably 3 to 5 times it sounds reasonable…
of course it is rant if you are on the receiving end everybody who have it as defense hero will be pretty happy
Still waiting for a huge nerf to come and end this guy’s rain of terror over the arena…
Tormin + an HP Burn champ has hard carried me through the hardest waves in Hard Doom Tower. Cleared it this month thanks mostly to T-Dawg.
That said, the accuracy requirement past about floor 60 in DT is absurd. An Accuracy aura + about 400 accuracy let me land the CC often enough to squeak by.
I know its probably irrelevant, I’d just like to say have my Lil Guy in a deflection set with acc, speed, and cr subs and it works really against serris or other debuffers and cc’ers
Hi,
It seems like Tormin’s passive hits more often than can be accounted for. Should be 30% after books, and can be put up to 35% with masteries, and sure, it hits twice when Arbi does her buff+TM move first but I have all my champs frozen so often by this that I can’t believe that’s all there is to it. Am I missing a way to increase his proc chance?
@all: Tormin the Cold skills have been updated to Patch 1.13.
This champion needs a nerf in a major way. At any given time, he will be on at least 90% of all the top 25 arena teams. The very last thing raid arena needs is even less variety for gold iv and Platinum arena teams. Lack of variety was already and problem, and Torrin made it worse. You don’t ask “what four champions do you use for arena”, you ask “what two champions do you use with Torrin and Arbiter.
I got him off the free void shard that plarium gave out no Joke lol!
How is it that other players are still able to fuse this guy the fast way, instead of the long way?
@FugginGene: I’ll re-update Tormin the Cold’s rating after the post-nerf that Plarium will be implementing.
How is this not God Tier?
Hey! Wintry Wind skill can be upgraded to lvl 5 for +10% chance and -2 cooldown.
jokes on me, you are on another time zone xD
Why did you put it has excellent? Your update date is for tomorrow =P
