Raf-Matab Champion Lore Synopsis

Raf-Matab, a young nomad from the peaceful Dusk Hills, lived a simple life as a shepherd. His tribe, unlike the more aggressive Krokhan Nomads and Norr raiders, respected the land and worshipped both the Goddess Lumaya and local spirits. These spirits were believed to manifest as faint blue glows near certain landmarks, a sign of their presence. Raf’s peaceful life was shattered when a band of Krokhan raiders attacked his tent one night, attempting to enslave him. Though he fought back, he was brutally scarred and blinded after a raider kicked a brazier of hot coals into his face, leaving him to die as his tent burned around him.

Just as Raf-Matab was about to perish, an eerie light enveloped the valley, terrifying the fleeing raiders. The pale blue glow illuminated the night, a brightness unlike any natural fire. Days later, Raf’s tribe searched the ruins of his tent but found no trace of him. He had vanished. For three months, they wondered if he had survived, but one day, Raf returned, transformed. Adorned with antlers and furs, his eyes covered, he spoke of a miraculous experience. He had regained sight, though not in the usual sense—he could now see the world as spirits did, through a lens of flickering blue flames and glowing hearts. Raf had been reborn with a purpose, to seek two mystical relics: the Elderspear and the Shield of the Clans.

Driven by the spirits’ call, Raf set out on a year-long journey through the Dusk Hills, following visions only he could perceive. His quest led him deep into the earth, where he faced twisted Fae creatures tainted by darkness. Despite the overwhelming odds, Raf-Matab fought them off with his simple spear, retrieving the sacred artifacts, both of which glowed with the same ethereal light that now marked his existence. His return to the tribe was met with awe, as the relics he bore were believed to be lost to legend.

Raf-Matab’s discovery of the corrupted Fae creatures shocked his people, and with his newfound power, he pledged to hunt down and purify any other such creatures that threatened the land. His journey didn’t end with the retrieval of the relics. Instead, he set off northward, following rumors of dark forces, including a flesh-eating hag that terrorized the region. His victory over these monstrous beings earned him a growing reputation as a monster-slayer, and the world began to notice the man who had once been an ordinary shepherd.

Raf-Matab’s transformation from a humble nomad to a legendary warrior is a tale of resilience and destiny. With his spirit-touched vision and powerful relics, he embraced his role as a protector, determined to cleanse the land of the darkness that tainted it, one monstrous foe at a time.

  1. Spotz

I pulled a 3 star Soul for this guy, and it seems like a huge waste

  2. JPPicasso

@sin: Pls. send setting and gear for bommal. No only Q. thanx.

  3. sin

he is an excellent choice for bommal solo build. why the one star?

  4. Troy

I’m a new player and I have Raf-matab. Do I use what little resources I have on him or wait?

  5. Joe

Does the reflect damage stack when using someone like geo?

  6. Casterous

Thought I had just pulled the WORSE by far lego in the game briefly (1 star rating for Dark Fae and ZERO for anything else)

Can see he’s new – skills don’t look exactly game changing

  7. SpecterData

Raf is one of the initial champions with the Resistance buff. They released him with a slow 4 turn CD to ensure that future champions could be stronger. One negative is that the buff can be stolen (Hydra). He does have the ability to SOLO Hard DT stages of Rhino Bommal (Youtube videos avaiable) at very easy to reach speeds, but hard to reach defensive stats. His taunt into a damage block makes him a viable Arena defense option in the right team.

  8. OldMan54

I pulled Raf in the recent 2x event. I am no expert in the game but I like this Lego. I can’t wait for others to pull him and there is more information to read.
