The nice thing about this guy, is that the shield from A3 is based on the target’s HP, he doesn’t heals, and he doesn’t applies debuffs, so you can actually build him for some damage (instead of going all-out def/hp) since his multipliers aren’t that bad.
I have used this guy as food several times now as I just assumed he was a bit weak. However, I have finally realised he is the only reviver I have in the Undead Hordes. I guess I better get him up to being useful as I have become stuck in the Crypt in FW without a reviver – sigh – still, better late than never I suppose.
So, no gear on him yet but did push him through to level 5 naked and ascended. Better put some clothes on him if I want to take him further, here goes. I will see how he gets on and if he can keep my team more alive in FW to progress that a bit more. I will let you know what I think of him later.
First time commenter here! I just pulled this badass dude just a short while ago & not to sound melodramatic here, but in all honesty when i looked over Grinner’s abilities, I really thot i had pulled an Epic! Ok, his A2 AoE attack does have an initial 5-turn cooldown but is bookable down to 3, has an excellent Damage Multiplier of 4.2, and when fully booked has a a 50% chance of removing 1 random buff from each target which is truly awesome! And his A3 (revive an ally with 50% HP) is bookable down to 4 which is incredible: as reshef comments below, no other rares OR epics can revive on such a short cooldown. And the fact that Grinner’s affinity is also Force is a definite added bonus.
At any rate, I’ve gone ahead & equipped this undead poster boy for the American Dental Association out in Speed & Shield sets (1 each), with HP and DEF as the primary stats for the latter as Grinner is support. I then had him do multiple solo runs of Stage 6 of the Sewers of Arnoc on Normal & he completely tore it apart. Will update on how he fares on tougher stuff later on but (just like Dickens), I have great expectations
Wow…110 speed with 4 turn cd on a rare, didn t realise he´s that good, A1 and A2 are useful too. Using him early for factionwars and was in his way better than most epics in the team.
He´s the best rare Undead Horde champion for fw in my opinion.
@Joshua Ng: Yeah, you can replace Grinner with Gorgorab as he is a better revive support champion. However, if you do not have many Epic Skill Tomes to upgrade Gorgorab skills to unleash his full potential, then you can use Grinner to help support your team.
I got Gorgorap, should i keep this cham or food?
Is his “has 25% to add atk to all allies” broke? He only ever has a 25% chance to randomly picks one person for me after ascending…
Why is he geared like an offensive champion? Since he’s mainly bringing buff, debuff and revive to the table shouldn’t he be built with HP/DEF to like, outlast the rest of the team?
It’s a stronger and a cheaper shaman: so, he is very usefull in arena.
It should be, at least, a level b champion.
Hello I believe that you have his Spirit Keep and Magic Keep scores flipped, since of his affinity and buff removal. Thanks for all the work.
He’s one of the few champions with a revive on a cooldown shorter than 5 turns (his is bookable down to 4).
No other rares OR epics can revive on such a short cooldown, and only a few legendaries share or beat the CD.
He shares this CD with the legendaries: Maulie, and Duchess (both of which require multiple legendary books to get to the 4 turn cooldown he can have).
The void legendary Raglin has the shortest CD revive in the game bookable down to 2 turns, which again requires legendary book(s).
I mean, he’s basically a better AND cheaper Shaman, right?
His A1 actually has a 25% chance to place a 50% increase attack buff on each ally, which means he almost always places at least one buff. The description is innacurate in-game, so I thought I’d let people who are considering building him know.
I’m not sure if this makes him better or worse than expected. Getting the buff on another support is annoying, but it’s nice that it’s almost always doing something.
@fstring: Hi, Grinner masteries guide and equipment guide are now available!
Hey, can you publish the masteries and the gear sets etc. ? Much appreciated.
