Underpriest Brogni Review

Underpriest Brogni is a Legendary Support Magic affinity champion from Dwarves faction in Raid Shadow Legends. Underpriest Brogni was introduced in Patch 4.10 on April 10th 2021 as part of the Classic Champion Fusion event!

Underpriest Brogni is well-knowned for the Super Tanky World Record Clan Boss where has a unique passive skill Redoubt that enables him to reflect damage to the attacker whenever they attack him or his allies with Shield buff. The retaliation damage amplifies when Underpriest Brogni learns Giant Slayer (Tier 6 Offense Mastery), to have a chance to deal extra damage to the attacker too. This passive skill synergizes best when paired with champions who has Shield Buff skill. In addition, Underpriest Brogni is famous for Cavern’s Grasp skill that increases the existing shield capacity. The Grow Shield strategy leads to a new Clan Boss Team setup known as the Infinity Gauntlet, Infinity Chaos or Infinity Shield! It requires pairing Underpriest Brogni with champions who has Increase Buff Duration skill to keep the Shield buff up all the time. Underpriest Brogni’s Resilient Glow skill fortifies the team by applying Block Debuff on all allies to prevent Clan Boss from inflicting Decrease Speed debuff and Stun debuff that disrupt the champion’s turn order. Last but not least, his default skill Deepcrystal Scourge applies HP Burn debuff, so he can deal high amount of damage even though he is build in full defense to reduce the damage intake.

In conclusion, if you are looking for a support champion to significantly boost your Clan Boss damage, Underpriest Brogni will help achieve that goal. If you are having difficulty clearing Doom Tower floors, Arena Gold-Platinum Tiers, higher stages of Dungeons or Dwarves Faction Wars, then Underpriest Brogni can be built as an all-rounder high resist support champion to resolve this issue. He is a versatile champion and I highly recommend leveling him up if you are stuck in any of the issues mentioned above!

Underpriest Brogni Reference

Underpriest Brogni All-Rounder Build

Below is a reference of the artifacts equipped on Underpriest Brogni optimized for Doom Tower Hard content for Boss and Floor mobs. Underpriest Brogni is equipped with Shield Set as it does 3 things simultaneously, which are to protect his allies against enemy nuke attacks, heals all allies from the damage taken by the shield, and reflects the damage to the enemies based on the damage received. The Shield buff also procs Warmaster or Giant Slayer (Tier 6 Offense mastery) that deals extra damage you have on your Champions too! However, Warmaster only procs once whereas Giant Slayer procs multiple times based on the number of allies having Shield buff. With this Tier 6 Offense Mastery, it makes raiding bosses a quick one too! The artifact stats prioritized on Underpriest Brogni prioritize 3 main stats that are Health, Resistance, Speed. A high amount of health produces a larger shield capacity to tank the incoming damage and heal your allies. High resistance prevents him from being crowd control by enemies, so he can take his turns to cleanse any debuffs applied on your champions in the team. High speed allows him to perform his abilities quickly and effectively against enemies who specialize in high damage output or debuff. There is a patch to fix a bug on Underpriest Brogni passive skill to prevent it from inflicting debuff from Artifact Sets such as Toxic Set, Stun Set, Daze Set, Frost Set, and Provoke Set when the enemy receives the reflected damage from your Shield buff.

Underpriest Brogni Super Tanky Clan Boss Team Build

The artifacts equipped on Underpriest Brogni is speed-tuned for a specific Clan Boss setup, known as the Super Tanky Clan Boss Team. This team comprises of Lydia the Deathsiren, Iron Brago, Valkyrie, Krisk the Ageless and Underpriest Brago. The stats prioritized for this build are high amount of Speed, Accuracy, Defense, HP and Critical Rate. Underpriest Brogni is using a mixed set of item to get to the right amount of speed for the Super Tanky Clan Boss Team, which is within the range of 269~271 when Krisk speed at 238 or max of 272 speed when Krisk’s speed at 239. A decent amount of Accuracy enables Underpriest Brogni to apply HP Burn for extra damage towards the Clan Boss and it will also help to remove any Increase Attack buff applied by the Clan Boss if Lydia the Deathsiren’s Block Buff debuff is resisted by the Clan Boss!

Underpriest Brogni Champion Lore

As the Dwarven holdouts of Gloomdeep Hold and the Skyiron Dominion recovered following the under-empire’s destruction, they began a race to the bottom. Both settlements dug deep into the earth to discover new materials, which they traded. Most prospectors chose to reopen the tunnels that were closed to slow the Demonspawn invasion of their realm many years before, hoping that these ancient passageways contained untapped veins of wealth. In their grand search, they discovered long lost archives of Dwarven lore — grand rune libraries that had been either abandoned or overrun by Siroth’s legions.

When word of these discoveries reached the Runekeepers of Gloomdeep Hold, several search parties were dispatched to bring back the troves of ancient knowledge. Few Runekeepers were as wise and revered as Brogni — although his journey to recover the lost artifacts would change him forever.

In his expedition, Brogni led a number of Runekeepers carefully through the passages that once swarmed with the life of his ancestors. Eventually, they reached a perfectly preserved archive — one that the Runekeepers of the time had barricaded, to protect it from Siroth’s forces. Brogni left his subordinates to begin the laborious cataloging, while he ventured deeper into the catacomb. As he wandered, he noticed an inviting green light emanating from deeper within, accompanied by a soft and sorrowful trill. Mesmerized, he delved deeper, abandoning his team. Finally, Brogni arrived in a primeval cavern, its walls aglow with glittering emerald, a gargantuan crystal at its heart. lts body thrummed with light, and the keening that had ensnared Brogni’s mind seemed to originate from this vast mineral. Sitting before this weeping gem and listening to its lament, he stretched out a hand to calm it.

When Brogni withdrew his hand, centuries had passed around him. His skin had turned a pallid gray, while his mind raced with the wailing song of the earth. He witnessed a doom that waited for the Dwarves, should they continue their path. He had to tell his people what he had heard. Taking some fragments of the grand crystal of proof of his quest, Brogni ventured back up to the surface.

Obsessed with what he had learned from the crystal’s song, he would become known as the Underpriest — an ancient cleric who preached of the scourge of the crystals, and Teleria’s lament. While he is bizarre to some Dwarves, many have sought the wisdom of this ancient, sallow-faced man who decries the Dwarves’ renewed expansion — for they would bring upon themselves a greater fall than their collapse at the hands of Siroth’s invasion.

Underpriest Brogni Storyline

Vast and wealthy is the Dwarven realm that lies beneath the Mountains of Despair, its halls of carven stone and gold glitter with splendor in the light of myriad braziers. But the Mountains are ancient, their caverns run far beyond the domain of the Dwarven King into the bowels of Teleria, and many are the mysteries that lie waiting in the shadows. There are some among the Dwarves who seek these mysteries. Such madmen willingly abandon the safety of their holds and venture into the forgotten passages below to live their lives as hermits. Most are never heard from again. But for every thousand failures, there might be one with strength enough to become a legend.

A long time ago, Brogni served the kingdom as one of the Runekeepers – clerics charged with gathering and preserving Dwarven lore. He was wise and learned in the ways of history, a mentor for many of his younger peers, and an advisor to the King who ruled at the time. But the deeper he delved into the legends of yore, the more questions arose in Brogni’s mind. He became obsessed with the origins of his race, the ancient birthplace that was said to lie far below the crust of the earth at the heart of the Mountains. With no answers to find in the vast libraries of the capital, he vowed to unravel the enigma on his own. His apprentices and loyal warriors at his side, Brogni left the realm of the Dwarves and set out to explore the ancient ruins that lay waiting beneath his very feet.

For years his expedition forged their path into the unknowable depths, gathering crumbs of the past with every ruin they discovered. The dangers they had faced are too terrible to recount, and one by one Brogni’s followers fell in battle, their remains entombed with what little honors could be provided. Before long, the old Runekeeper was left alone, wandering in the darkness without any hope of salvation. It was then he came across a cavern aglow with emerald light. Precious gems of all forms and sizes grew from the walls, glittering in the unnatural light that pierced the gloom. And amid the silence of the underworld, a soft trill full of sorrow and yearning called out to Brogni; mesmerized, he entered and followed the sound until it led him to a gargantuan crystal that sat at the center of the cave. Its polished body pulsed with light, and the keening that had ensnared Brogni’s mind appeared to have originated from within. There he sat down and listened to the song of the earth.

Many centuries had passed, and all memory of Runekeeper Brogni faded into dust. Thus there was no Dwarf left living to recognize the ancient warrior when he emerged from the deep to join his kin in the battle against Demonspawn. Yet they could respect his skill and the hatred he carried for the invaders. With his mace of arcane crystals burning bright, the stranger smote horror after horror, while the spell chants he uttered wreathed the Dwarven warriors in protective magic. In time, Brogni revealed his name and his origins – in part – though he would not speak to any soul of the wonders he had witnessed or the mysteries unraveled. For the time being, his only goal was to aid the Dwarves in their return to the surface and to ensure the tainted creatures of Siroth could no longer threaten the world beneath, and so he had pledged himself to the new Mountain King.

Now Brogni accompanies the Dwarven host to the world above. He is a strange creature, a cleric of an unknown religion who seems to have no interest in converting others. Yet. But whatever strange rituals he follows and whatever beliefs he holds, it is clear the Underpriest is no friend to the Demonspawn or their minions. That alone makes him a valuable asset to those who seek to further Lumaya’s goals in Teleria.

  1. Startrax

Just pulled this champ. Been high on my wish list for ages. Looking forward to him lifting my account.

Came here to point out a typo in the ‘Underpriest Brogni Super Tanky Clan Boss Team Build’ section:

‘…known as the Super Tanky Clan Boss Team. This team comprises of Lydia the Deathsiren, Iron Brago, Valkyrie, Krisk the Ageless and Underpriest ******Brago******.”

  2. Carl Ray Mock

Yes ACC is for HP burn and buff removal. On a ally protect team for cb the removal is good but hp burn adds up over time and is a significant portion of his dam pool. Yes my acct is stacked and older so gear is high lvl also, but Brogni is a go to for me in multiple areas in the game. After all this time is top five champs in game. He is also hard to build but worth investment: account changer.

  3. frank

    abilties should include aoe-shield

  4. Konquerah

Why does Brogni need Accuracy, is it only for the HP Burn? Or is it also based on removing the debuffs with accuracy?

  5. I AM BROCCOLI

@Wolfie – I’m not sure about the focus on DEF but given that Brogni has such a low base attack, he gains less benefit from any ATK%. If I ever get a Krisk for an Infinity Clan Boss Team I will be looking to boost ATK for his A2 that grows the shield. I’m thinking ATK ring/banner, ATK% Chest. For now, however, I’m HP% chest.

  6. Wolfie

i have a curious question, why do we not want to do any kind of atk% on this champion? if he hits harder, than does he not produce more of a shield for your team? i understand wanting him to be tankie but only def???

  7. Jack

Pretty sure his passive no longer procs giant slayer

  8. Clotsby

Does his passive still proc giant slayer as of this time? (25/10/21) I know they changed something with geomancer but not sure if brogni had changes

  9. Ayumilove Post author

@Aquisgran: Underpriest Brogni will no longer inflict negative effects from his passive skill when he reflects damage.

  10. Aquisgran

Those reflects do not trigger Stun Set anymore, right? Cant find any confim of that
but i did some fights now and no one was stunned from Brogni

  11. Sokka

You can put 5* even on Griffin and Magma, even if he puts heal on Magma you can program him to do his A2 first so he removes it after he puts it or yu can pair him with another buff remover and it workd fine.

  12. Spotz

Is Brogni the only Champ that has the “Increase Shield” skill?

  13. Broccolli

@VIDDAR – The passive does not behave like a reflect, but it may proc Giant Slayer.

@Sin – A2 counts as a single AOE attack, so it has one chance to proc.

If anyone is temped to use Warmaster, go watch the 2 Dwarfs, 1 Clan Boss video that showcases Brogni and Geomancers passive when using Giant slayer.

  14. VIDARR

Hes rated 5stars for Fk but his passive doesnt help bring down shields? ive tested this both auto & manual to see if I was missing something. anyone else experience this?

  15. sin

the shield increase on a2, does it work with giant slayer proc?

  16. Broccolli

    @David As Ayumilove stated below…

“…Giant Slayer proc/trigger multiple times from Underpriest Brogni’s passive skill when the shield reflects damage is working as intended.”

Warmaster would only proc once if at all.

  17. David

Why do you suggest ‘Giant Slayer’ for Brogni instead of Warmaster? I though Giant Slayer is only good for 3+ multi-hitter skills.

  18. Ayumilove Post author

@gankless: I have corrected the total skill books for Underpriest Brogni from 9 to 12. Thanks!

  19. faw

dont pick rapid response mastery if you want to use him on CB, this will probably screw over the speedtune.

  20. gankless

Brogni takes 12 books, not 9.

  21. 9ives

I kinda feel like the retaliation set is a good work with the a1 up burn chance being 45% from start just make sure ur subs are crit acc speed base honestly anyway with this champ is try able in my eye he’s like my top 3 without even being booked or mastered yet just in my test set runs

  22. Drauku

@kevin I tested Brogni in Fire Knight, and his passive does not reduce the shield charges. The description certainly looks like it should work the same as Reflect Damage, but it isn’t. Not sure if this is a bug or not.

  23. Kevin

Will brognis passive work on fire knight? So I can replace fellhound or no?

  24. Ayumilove Post author

@CoCoJoe: I have checked in the official discord server for Raid Shadow Legends, the moderator “OriginMD” has confirmed with the “CM – Community Manager” that the Giant Slayer proc/trigger multiple times from Underpriest Brogni’s passive skill when the shield reflects damage is working as intended.

  25. Ayumilove Post author

@Shawn Husband: I have updated Underpriest Brogni masteries to use Giant Slayer instead of Warmaster after testing him out in Ultra-Nightmare Clan Boss. When the shield reflects the damage, it also procs/triggers the Giant Slayer multiple times, which could benefit the Clan Boss team in achieving a higher amount of damage output whereas Warmaster procs once when all 5 allies have Shield buff.

  26. Shawn Husband

@ReadyPlayerFun – I saw confirmation that Suzerain will not remove a Brogni placed shield. When both champs have the absolute, the def champ wins because the unremovable shield was placed before the enemy who can’t be resisted tries to remove.

@Ayumilove – should update guide above since no longer procs artifact abilities against shield. Also, why Warmaster? I saw in guides that they say GS is better given multiple procs off shields. I thought that didn’t work with WM. Maybe it was the AOE, too. Does WM proc against all the enemy in an AOE?

  27. CoCoJoe

Plarium is going to fix the passive in future patches, so it doesn’t interact with artifact sets any more. I don’t know if this includes Warmaster/Giant Slayer tho.

  28. Michael

Put him in a stun set. Stew Gaming did a great video on Brogni wrecking high level Doom Tower. Reflect damages from any of your shielded champions (shields from any source) can stun, and with Fearsome Presence mastery its even better.

  29. Brocolli

Brogni’s shield damage reflect does not remove charges off the Fire Knight’s shield. That said, he did allow me to auto a few extra stages I had to manual.

  30. SANTAKLAUSS

Someone on my clan dropped him in a fragments and have done some testing for me.
It seems when a character has a shield from artefacts sets AND a shield from ability, they both reflect dmg on the attack, Brogni’s passive proc on both.
That’s juste broken in arena vs nuke teams.

  31. Mindflayrr

@SANTAKLAUSS I don’t think his passive (reflect 25% of damage back onto the attacker when under a shield buff) counts as a “reflect” proper; i.e it will not tick down the Fire Knight’s 10 count shield. The Fire Knight will take the damage from the passive but it will not cut down on the shield if I’m not mistaken.

  32. SANTAKLAUSS

Interaction between shield set anf his passive will be interesting. His a2 seems to refill both, but his incoming dmg reflected twice ?

  33. ReadyPlayerFun

@Ayumilove Hi, Would you please confirm, If Suzerain Katonn uses the skill Banish From Time will it remove Underpriest Brogni’s shield? Thanks so much!

  34. SANTAKLAUSS

Also i think he could be really good in FK since reflect dmg counts as a hit.

  35. Lakthaelle

    Hello,
Why only 1 star on Scarab King?
