Knosson the Bronze Bull Champion Lore Synopsis

Knosson is known as the strongest son of Lakon, a harsh warrior society shaped by relentless training and constant raids. The Lakonites depend on enslaved people and captured livestock to handle daily labour, leaving their ruling class free to focus on combat above all else. Life in Lakon is unforgiving, producing silent, disciplined fighters hardened by pain and endurance. Within this brutal world, Knosson rises, proving himself through sheer will and physical power.

He begins life as a weak and frail boy, far from the image of a great warrior. Refusing to accept his condition, he trains in a simple yet demanding way by lifting a young calf every day. As the animal grows, so does the weight he must bear, and over time his strength increases alongside it. Though never known for tactical brilliance or leadership, Knosson finds his place in direct combat, preferring the clash of battle to giving orders. His growing physique and resilience slowly draw attention across Lakon.

His true fame comes from an act that few would even consider. When his companion Kimikos is falsely accused of a crime, Knosson steps forward to take his punishment. The sentence is the Bronze Bull, a terrifying device used for execution. Victims are sealed inside a hollow bronze statue and thrown down a steep rocky slope, leaving nothing recognisable behind. Knosson accepts the ordeal without hesitation, choosing possible death over certain disgrace.

Against all expectations, he survives. Though battered, bloodied, and barely able to move, Knosson emerges alive at the bottom of the ravine. Even more astonishing, he drags himself back up the slope under his own strength. The crowd, stunned by what they witness, cannot ignore his feat. His survival earns him a new name, the Bronze Bull, a title that reflects both his endurance and his immense physical presence.

With his reputation secured, Knosson gains the freedom to choose his path. He rejects the common role of raider, finding no honour in attacking the defenceless. Instead, he turns to the Gymnastikon, a dangerous sport where athletes leap over charging bulls in displays of skill and courage. His strength allows him not only to perform but to survive even failed attempts. His success brings him fame, leading to work as a mercenary and trainer. Even then, he remains selective, seeking only the greatest challenges and the most promising students.
