Though he has no ambitions for power himself, his unwavering loyalty stems from the opportunities Lamasu provides for destruction and carnage. Vulkanos delights in the cacophony of war—the crashing of stone, the crackling of fire, and the shattering of fortifications. Once mortal, he became enthralled by architecture and engineering, focusing on the dual arts of construction and demolition. His fate shifted during the Great Divorce when Siroth seduced him by granting the chance to destroy Lumaya’s fortress, an irresistible challenge that cemented his fall into darkness.

After the banishment of the Firstborn, Vulkanos’ passion for design twisted into a destructive obsession. His hatred drove him to exploit his newfound demonic powers, aiming to obliterate the great structures of Teleria. During the First Great War, he sought a suitable vessel for his dark soul, eventually overtaking a knight of Kaerok. This unfortunate host was tormented until his armor fused with flesh, creating the grotesque figure Vulkanos now inhabits. The knight’s greatsword, corrupted by infernal magic, channels Vulkanos’ fiery might, blazing with molten heat at his command.

Vulkanos’ allegiance to Lamasu is rooted in her relentless invasions, which align with his desire to annihilate grand edifices. As her trusted siege engineer, he crafts infernal war machines—catapults that hurl explosive projectiles, molten bombards, and fire-imbued battering rams. Vulkanos revels in perfecting these devices, often using lesser Demonspawn as living components, enhancing their efficiency with dark magic.
