Storm Herald Hekaton Champion Lore Synopsis
The story of Storm Herald Hekaton begins with a mortal Argonite named Dramodes, a renowned general who rose to fame through courage, discipline, and skill in battle. Serving the polis of Mielon, Dramodes led its armies across the surrounding islands, defeating rival powers and bringing them under Mielon’s influence. His campaigns created a growing alliance that strengthened the region and secured the city’s dominance. Although he fought with fierce strength, Dramodes also earned respect for his sense of honour. Even defeated enemies spoke well of him, for he showed restraint in victory and treated those who surrendered with mercy.
Throughout his rise, Dramodes openly credited the Aetherials for his success. Above all, he revered the mighty Thunder King, a divine being known by many titles such as Lord of Winds and Sky Father. Dramodes believed deeply that the Thunder King had guided his triumphs and protected him in battle. Rather than hiding his ambition, he declared that he sought the Thunder King’s favour and hoped one day to serve as the deity’s chosen champion. To many who heard these words, the claim sounded bold, perhaps even reckless, yet Dramodes never wavered in his belief that he had been chosen for a greater destiny.
That destiny seemed to arrive during a voyage home from another successful conquest. As Dramodes and his fleet sailed across open waters, a vast storm suddenly swallowed the horizon. Thunder roared across the sky while lightning struck the masts of Dramodes’ flagship again and again. Strangely, no other vessel suffered the same fate. Despite the violent storm, the sails remained whole and the ships endured the towering waves. While his crew trembled in fear, Dramodes stood calmly with arms raised toward the sky. According to those who witnessed the moment, a bolt of lightning descended upon him, wrapped him in brilliant light, and then carried him into the clouds.
His sudden disappearance left the fleet shaken, yet his closest officers reassured the men. They knew their commander’s ambitions and believed the Thunder King had answered his call. Their faith proved correct when the fleet returned to Mielon. Waiting upon the harbour pier stood Dramodes himself, transformed. His eyes shone with fierce electric light, and he wore gleaming armour unlike anything he had possessed before. In his hands he carried a shield alive with crackling energy and a spear that flashed like a bolt of thunder.
When the soldiers marched beside him through the streets, Dramodes revealed the truth of his transformation. The man they once followed no longer existed. The Thunder King had raised him beyond mortality and granted him a new identity. From that day forward he would be known as Hekaton, the Storm Herald. Though his followers celebrated the miracle, many also felt sorrow as their leader departed to serve among the Aetherials. Immortal life soon drew Hekaton into the secret struggles and power games of the divine courts, and the distance between him and the mortal world continued to grow.
This Dude is a Game Changer. I have him in Merciless(5) and Defiant(2) gear and it took my team to a new level.
