The Wild Hunter is a member of the Resistance that fires a volley of arrows from the back of a tamed Jaguar to overpower foes with relentless attacks. The Wild Hunter is skilled in both close-range and long-range combat. The Wild Hunter has all the characteristics of a Bowman – quick movements, wide attack range, and moving attacks. Wild Hunters are unique, as they need to capture and ride a Jaguar in order to perform most of their skills. Jaguars, which give Wild Hunters a huge boost in mobility, come in a variety of colors, and players can select a color that suits them best. In comparison to other bowman-based classes, Wild Hunters have higher HP, MP, and critical rates. However, a Wild Hunter can be more difficult than other Bowmen to play at first, though it definitely makes up for it with strong attacks at high levels.

Wild Hunter 1st Job Skills
Double Shot (Active)
Fires two arrows at high speed. Jaguar artillery can be used to attack multiple enemies while riding the Jaguar with reduced Attack Power and range. The Jaguar’s artillery will pierce through up to 5 enemies, dealing 80% damage 2 times.

Swipe | Claw Cut (Jaguar Skill)
Swipes at multiple enemies multiple times. Part of the damage dealt is returned as HP. Unaffected by attack reflection. Recovery cannot be more than 20% of the character’s Max HP. Max Level 1.
Level 1: MP Cost: 30, Max Enemies Hit: 8, Damage: 200% + 1% per level, Number of Attacks: 4. HP Recovery: 15%. Maximum Level: 180, Chance for Another Bite Debuff: 60% Cooldown: 3 sec.
Wild Lure | Provoke (Jaguar Skill)
Provokes enemies to attack the Jaguar, and makes the Jaguar untouchable.
Level 1: MP Cost: 50, Max Enemies Provoked: 10. Provocation Duration: 10 sec. Effects halved on bosses. Cooldown: 20 sec.
Double Jump | Jaguar Leap (Active)
Allows you to double jump. Changes to triple jump when riding a Jaguar.
Level 1: MP Cost: 26, jumps further (Horizontal: 480, Vertical: 360)
Level 5: MP Cost: 10, jumps further (Horizontal: 600, Vertical: 450)
Summon Jaguar (Supportive)
Summon a Jaguar to fight by your side. Your Jaguar will target enemies you attack and absorb some of the damage dealt as HP. The recovered HP cannot be more than 10% of your maximum HP. You can command the Jaguar to use the “Jaguar Skill” and the Jaguar can be ridden using the mount skill. Max Level 1.
Level 1: Summon a Jaguar which deals 140% + 1% damage per character level damage on up to 4 enemies around you. When the Jaguar attacks, there is a 25% chance to inflict the Another Bite debuff on an enemy (stacking up to 3 times) for 5 seconds. When you attack a debuffed enemy, there is a 50% chance to deal an extra 80% per debuff + 1% damage per 2 character levels. This skill will scale until level 180. Gain 15% minimum critical damage and 30% resistance to statuses and elements while the Jaguar is summoned. Also heals 5% of the damage done as HP. There is a cooldown of 3 seconds.
Jaguar Rider (Supportive)
Summon a well-tamed Jaguar to ride. Speed and Power Stance chances are increased while riding. Use Summon Jaguar or a Jaguar Skill to get off the Jaguar and walk alongside it. Max
Level 1: MP Cost: 20, Speed While Riding: 40, Power Stance Chance: +50%, Cooldown: 3sec.
Jaguar Management (Passive)
Manage captured Jaguars. You can reach the Jaguar Habitat through Black Jack in the Secret Square. Your stats are increased by capturing special Jaguars. Snow White and Onyx Jaguar stats do not stack. Max Level 1.

Grafting the Resistance technology onto the crossbow grants them more power. Also permanently increases Jump and Speed.

Dash ‘n Slash (Jaguar Skill)
Your Jaguar rushes forward and pushes multiple enemies. Dash ‘n Slash ignores Damage Reflect. Max Level 1.
Level 1: 450% + 2% damage per character level on up to 8 enemies, stunning them for 3 seconds. This skill will scale until level 180. When attacking, there is a 80% chance to inflict the Another Bite debuff. There is a cooldown of 6 seconds. Attack delay is 900ms.
Call of the Wild (Supportive)
Your Jaguar’s howl increases you and your party members’ attack.
Level 10: reduce damage taken by 15%, increase avoid rate by 15%, 15% MP, increase all party members’ attack by 10%, 300 second duration.
Soul Arrow: Crossbow (Supportive)
Increase your attack and gain the ability to shoot without using arrows for a certain period of time.
Level 10: 20 attack, shoot without using arrows, duration of 300 seconds.
Crossbow Booster (Supportive)

Raises your attack speed by 2 stages for a certain period of time.

Primal Fury | Jaguar Maximum
The Jaguar’s feral nature runs wild.
Level 1: Consumes 1000 MP. For 10 seconds, become invincible and deal 1040% damage 6 times consecutively on up to 15 enemies then perform a final attack, dealing 1560% damage 12 times. While attacking with this skill, you can press the skill again to instantly use the final attack. This skill must be used while riding the Jaguar. Cooldown: 150 seconds.
Level 25: Consumes 1000 MP. For 12 seconds, become invincible and deal 2000% damage 6 times consecutively on up to 15 enemies then perform a final attack, dealing 3000% damage 12 times. Wild Hunter Notes
There are five main Jaguars that Wild Hunters can capture. There are the regular ones, that are basically the regular colored ones. Then there’s Jaira, which is black with glowing eyes, Snow White, which is white with golden marks, Onyx Jaguar, which is black with glowing eyes and armoured, and lastly, Armoured Crimson(coming out in F.L.Y patch- KMS), which is red with a claw mark and is armoured. Both Snow White and Onyx gives an additional 50% stance when you use Jaguar Rider, resulting in 100% stance. Armoured Crimson reduces damage taken and increase resistance to statuses. To find Jaria or Snow White is to go to the Jaguar Habitat and keep changing channels ’till you find blue text saying, “Jaria/Snow White has appeared from between the boulders.” Jaira has a spawn time of 6 hours, while Snow White has a spawn time of 60 hours. You can also switch between your captured jaguars by talking to Belle, however, this is only available after the F.L.Y patch(KMS).

@Takeshi: I’m not sure if its an event type. When I was creating a Wild Hunter character and went to the Jaguar grounds, I immediately encounter the Onyx and caught it with my net after hitting it till its HP is low enough. Perhaps I’m lucky 🙂

@Epselyn: Hi, Crossbow Booster does not increase the attack speed of Wild Arrow Blast a.k.a WAB. The maximum arrows it can shoot is 8 per sec from what I’ve seen from WAB experimentation done previously. Happy New Year 2017!
Why is it important to max unmounted Jaguar skills in your third job why not just max Enduring fire wouldnt that help mob and etc by giving it damage?

@Azazel69: I consider good damage for any class if they are able to kill monsters within their character level range in 1-2 hits regardless funded/unfunded. For funded players, they could 1-2 hits monsters above their level range.

@Fikri: Yes, you do need to purchase 4th Job Mastery Book to unlock the max level of Level 20 and Level 30 skills.

For the hyper skills you suggest I don’t understand why you would pick them. My recc. would be Feline Berserk – Reinforce = for just basically 10% more damage all the time vs when you jag applies debuff
Feline Berserk – Rapid Attack = so with this when you buff you hit the soft speed cap and can potentially hit the hard speed cap easier and not waste time/money on attack speed inner abillity
IF FUNDED OR HAVE IRL MONEY USE THIS INSTEAD OF Feline Berserk – Rapid Attack
Summon Jaguar – Enhance = basically 10% more damage to anything you jag finds unworthy of your presence
All 3 Wild Arrow Blast’s = this is your main attacking everything why not make it the best it can be?
if you can give me a reason why to pick the others over this then I would love to hear it, hope I’m not thinking anything wrong I just think this would provide the most dps to an average player

@Yoaz: Max Crystal Throw so you can level up faster during beginner/citizen stage. Both infiltrate and Crystal Throw will not be utilized for training after reaching 1st Job Advancement.

@NeedHelpRightNow: The free method is to delete that character from your account and start all over again. It’s quite easy to restart from scratch to 2nd job compared to 4th job. If it’s 4th job, I would be advisable to pay a little to save hours from re-leveling up.

@Windia: All hyper skills are useful but if prioritized on damage, Wild Arrow Blast skill shoots 8 arrows per second. Any speed attack boost would not help it. If you have sufficient IED (Ignored Enemy Defense) for the boss you usually raid, then you can opt for Boss Damage.
For example: Chaos Pink Bean has 160 PDR (Physical Defense Rate).
Hero A has IED +240% and Boss Damage 0% = Damage dealt is around 324.0%
Hero B has IED +160% and Boss Damage 80% = Damage dealt is around 352.8%
IED is very useful when you want to raid bosses at higher levels such as Chaos Velum (Level 190) which has 300 PDR.
But pure IED does not bring much damage optimization compared to hybrid IED + Boss damage.

@MillenniumNB: Train on monsters which are not 10 levels higher than you which may deliver more damage to your Wild Hunter. Also, purchase and equip armor for your level. Avoid getting bump into monsters often and eliminate from afar with your crossbow. Try to defeat enemies from a platform where the cannot reach you.
My Wild Hunter is Lv.29 and his HP drops so quick.

Did you happen to have Jaguar Mastery learned already? Learning this skill + Jaguar Rider’s bonus will give you 100% Stance when mounted. And yep, 100% stance now applies to every jaguar you ride. Though, only Jaira (Crit +5% iirc), Snow White/Onyx (Buff Duration +10%) and Armored Crimson (-10% damage received) provide stat bonuses when set.

@EFrag: The build focuses on getting the passive damage boosting skills as they will benefit all attacking skills. If you find that you perform more Critical Hits than Regular Damage ones, it is best to get Sharp Eyes first.
Is there a reason the skill build changed from this patch and the last. It seems like we should be foregoing Advanced Final Attack in order to max more useful skills like Wild Arrow Blast or Sharp Eyes. AFA also didn’t change last patch as far as I know, but it moved up in the rankings? Just wanted to get your input before I spent my skill points, but maybe I’m just underestimating things. Thanks for all the guides, I use them all the time 🙂
@Jeremiah Tan: Wild Hunter primary stat is DEX. In the Hyper Skill Build Guide, it has pointed out that you will need to add Hyper Skill – DEX along with Hyper Skill – STR. Reason being, you gain some extra damage with STR since its a secondary stat for Wild Hunter.
why hyper skill u add strength? I thought wildhunter main stats is DEX.
I’m guessing attack speed isn’t chosen because it does not affect wild arrow blast’s firing speed. It only affects its startup time.
@Feather Jaguar If I had to guess, Guardbreak isn’t increased due to how the defence penetration formula works in maple. I have friends that are considerably funded and of higher level than me (I’m a level 183 wild hunter). From what I heard from them, the higher your current defence penetration the less additional defence penetration potentials, skills, etc will benefit you. Once you hit around 80ish defence penetration its apparently pointless to add more as other areas, such as damage percentage, will contribute a greater amount to your final damage.
I’m not too sure why attack speed isn’t chosen though.
I am curious of the reasons that ‘Feline Berserk – Rapid Attack’ and ‘Wild Arrow Blast – Guardbreak’ hyper skills are not maxed. Isn’t ignoring defense and attack speed important? Considering that Wild Hunter usually blasts arrows to the enemies, aren’t ignoring enemies’ defense and increasing attack speed going to help with killing bosses? Why ‘Summon Jaguar – Reinforce’ and ‘Summon Jaguar – Enhance’ then?
I am curious that why did you not max ‘Wild Arrow Blast – Guardbreak’ and ‘Feline Berserk – Rapid Attack’ in the hyper skills. Aren’t attack speed and ignoring defense important to Wild Hunter? Considering that Wild Hunter blasts arrows to the enemies in a rapid speed, isn’t ignoring defense going to help to defeat the monster in a quicker time?
@Lucas: I have not spent much time playing MS1 as I have moved on to MS2 now. Perhaps you could share your experience on the best method style as a Wild Hunter during bossing and training, and I’ll add to the guide above!
Could you write up a discussion of the playstyles or an explanation of the skill builds for this? That’d help a lot too. I started a Wild Hunter after the big patch came to SEA and I’ve been having loads of fun. Late second job right now, having a lot of fun and I spend a lot more time riding the panther than letting it do its own thing. Mobbing is wonderfully fluid and even though I didn’t get a 10th anniversary weapon for this character I’m one-shotting everything in my path. I only ever dismount for the bosses, and then I tear through them like wet paper. It’s brilliant.

not that it makes a big difference but under second job, dash n’ slash is auto maxed but it says to max it at the end as well ~
I wouldn’t agree with you, you should have maxed it for that damage reduced instead of maxing Enduring Fire which will be replaced by Wild Arrow Blast. And in Dim Light, of course nobody uses it, what for when the monster dies easily and they don’t have threatening spells of a boss to dodge. A tip though, don’t ride your jaguar and summon it instead, you will have increased status resistance and thus not get stunned easily. You can use jaguar skills, Hunting Assistance Unit and Drill Salvo to kill the monsters, at the same time spam your Wild Arrow Blast. Backstep is useful to limited extent and mainly during bossing. For example, Chaos Zakum will sometimes drop lava totems and you would want to dodge it to avoid getting stunned. At the same time you don’t want to stop attacking it, now this is the best time to use backstep. I play in MapleSea so I guess I’m one of the few that use this skill? XD
i personally felt like back step is a useless skill i never maxed it because although it helps you with the damage reduced but none of the people use it . it is very useless when you try to kill monster in the dimlight map as it will just make you keep getting stuns. most maple sea people never even use this skill at all they just maxed it for fun

For the skill Wild Instinct is the +50%def and +30%pdr included in the stat page. Or do we have to calculate our total pdr our self.

Just wanted to let ayumi know that for the 1st job skill header is wrongly labelled as “2nd job skill build”
I’m not Ayumi but i believe this is why Summon Jaguar Reinforce was chosen instead.
PDR ignore from potential or skills literally ignores a PERCENTAGE OF THAT BOSS’S DEFENSE RATE, so you can’t ignore all of a boss’s PDR until you have at least 100% PDR ignore from potential and skills. Say you have Zakum with 40% PDR inherently, and 50% PDR ignore from equips and skills. You would only cut off 20% PDR from Zakum, since 50% of 40% is 20%.
Theoretically, once you get 100% PDR ignore on your character, you won’t have any damage reduction on bosses. All PDR stacks, even on weapons.
Therefore if you have max PDR on your gear you won’t benefit from the PDR that WAB guard break offers, so technically that would be a wasted point. However if you lack PDR from gearing and that 10% from WAB guardbreak helps you achieve that then by all means go for it

I feel jaguar skills are solely used for just bite debuffs now instead of any form of dps, while WAB has taken both bossing and mobbing roles so may i know if you have a reason for taking Summon Jaguar Reinforce over Wild Arrow Blast Guardbreak?

@BBHunter: Yeah, more variety of Jaguar adds up to more stats for Critical Rate, Critical Minimum Damage and Critical Max Damage for the Jaguar Link skill.
@zegastar: Congrats for reaching above level 140 on Wild Hunter! Use the Hyper Skill Points on the Hyper Skills that are mentioned above. There are no specific to any order for that. Hi Ayumi, this is my first time getting a character to hyper level and I’ll admit I’m confused. In this guide it says to get Wild Arrow Blast – Boss Rush (MAX) first, but that also isn’t unlocked until level 195. Do I wait and save my point, or should I put my point in Feline Berserk – Reinforce which is the only one unlocked?

Oh gawd. Wild Arrow Blast maxed – 320% dmg + 10% boss. Too OP. Does pretty much the same thing as Phantom’s Mille Aiguilles, but WAY stronger.
As a Phantom main, I’m jealous. Phantom needs a revamp.
@Raksha: These skills are for GMS. MapleSEA is lacking 1 revamp patch behind GMS though. Will need to wait at least 3-6 months to get this update. Hopefully, MSEA can catch up a little faster 🙂
I noticed that some of the Beginner and 1st Job skills do not correlate for my Wild Hunter (MapleSEA). Are these movesets for GMS only? Coz I don’t have ‘Double Shot’ in my 1st Job Skillbook. I only have ‘Triple Shot’, ‘Jaguar Rider’, ‘Jaguar Rawr’, and ‘Automatic Shooting’.

@Zechs: Hi, the new Wild Hunter revamp will replace older skills with newer ones such as Hunting Assistant. MapleSEA updates is lagging far behind compared to KMS and GMS.
I do not have the skill Hunting Assistant. Instead I have Dash & Slash. Is it because I’m from Maplesea, that’s why?
Mihile DOES in fact require mastery books (source: I needed them).
However, Jett requires only a couple.

ohh and the delay for assitant hunting unit is 570ms not 810ms. The link skill for resistance (spirit of freedom) isnt updated too
Personally, i wont add a point into Summon Jaguar – Reinforce as the %dmg are quite high, and they hit the 50m cap easily. feline berserk att spd is also pretty useless now as wh uses wab for both mobbing and bossing. Summon jaguar cooldown cutter ( slight more dps for jaguar skills and more chances of debuff) or guardbreak would be a better choice.
to address some of the questions below:
1.wild hunters cannot use jaguar skills when mounted, though i have seen videos from insoya, where crossroads is used( might be a bug). those playing kms or gms can test it out.
2.wild arrow blast will not leave another bite debuff when mounted, so theres no point in mounting ur jaguar except for mobbing.
would you say this class is a lot stronger and worth playing now?
would wild arrow blast leave another bite debuff on enemies while you’re riding a jaguar?

Hi ayumilove I think there is still a HP draining component for Claw Cut which you missed out in the guide. It feels sad that Wild Hunters are unable to spam Claw Cut anymore for extra survivability when mobbing.
Also, are wild hunters still able to use the jaguar skills when they are mounted on the jaguars, or are they now only able to use jaguar skills when the players are not mounted on the jaguars in the revamp?
@13cats: Are you referring to GMS skills? KMS has added Provoke in Wild Hunter 1st Job Skill section, and moved the Dash n’ Slash from 3rd Job to 2nd Job section. These new skill revamps will be implemented into GMS once they have translated the skills from KMS.
Sorry to inform, but the skills list is out of date. There is a concerning number of errors. For example, there is no longer a Provoke skill and dash’n’slash is actually a 3rd job skill.
@Xenomata: I believe Storm Arrow related-skills such as Wild Arrow Blast is not affected by the attack speed boost from Feline Berserk Rapid Attack, as they are fixed to 8.33 arrows per second (500 arrows per minute). It only affects Jaguar skills that are Wild Hunter primary mobbing skills. Thanks for your feedback on the Hyper skills. I’ll swap the Wild Arrow Blast – Guardbreak with Feline Berserk – Reinforce.
I’m wondering, why would you not max any of the Feline Berzerk skills (especially Rapid Attack), and instead max the Summon Jaguar skills? I mean, couldn’t a point be taken from Summon Jaguar Reinforce to be put in Feline Berzerk Rapid Attack? Heck even a point being removed from Wild Arrow Blast Guardbreak doesn’t seem like that big a loss.
