wait are those number the order that we should max the skills? one at a time or we just decide when to upgrade them whenever we want to
@Maelwys it’s not even accurate any more, as the damage cap has been removed. as a result, the positions have shifted greatly.
That dps list below, is that bossing numbers, aoe, or what?
hello ayumilove, but i think armor break’s description has changed for gms with the one second cooldown as opposed to the effect stacking 10 times.
hi ayumilove, for maplesea ,3rd job skill mortal blow effect has changed,at max lvl its after 9 hit ur next attack is increased by 80%
@Ayumilove
yeah but blaster will give you arthritis and is not generally a fun class to play. also the class is known for being a “hacker”.

Is it easier to reach higher damage range on bowmaster or blaster? I want to main the one where it can give me the highest dmg range
@Noctiskano Doppelganger: For Bow Master job and also for Arhcer class (Mercedes, Marksman, Wind Archer, Wild Hunter, etc), their primary stat is DEX (Dexterity). Just add all stats into DEX. STR (Strength) only add a little damage. Archer equips only requires DEX instead of STR.
What are we supposed to spend the AP on? Pure Dex or does Str still give some advantage?
A while ago, there was a fourth job skill called Arrow platter, it’s was just a passive buff for arrow blaster and when it was maxed it gave hurricane a fire animation. Is there a way to get the fire animation to hurricane now?
@Deeker: You need to bump into enemies or enemies attack you and get a “Miss” animation popping out. Then, from that particular event, take the probability of 30% success rate.
@Mitchell VanBuren: Thanks for your feedback! I have updated the level requirements for Arrow Stream Hyper Skills and also Sharp Eyes Hyper Skills.
@Someguy: Thanks for the notice! I have updated Arrow Stream skill icon to the correct one.
Hello! Is MapleSEA Bowmas Ranger skill for Evasion Boost working? Ive been having lvl10(max) which gives 30% Dodge rate, but I Never actually dodge any attacks before!
Am I really that unlucky?
I saw some bowmaster with a fire red hurricane…what does it do and how do i activate it :>>>>
I saw some bowmaster when casting hurricane the hurricane is fire red color wht does it do and how to activate :>>
Arrow stream has wrong picture
The hyper skill for stream reinforce is at 168 not 149
@Dee/Deeley: Performs much faster attack compared to Crossbowman but each hit deals a little less damage than it. It’s a mix of Magician and Warrior – You can attack far range but able to tank in some damage since it has medium-range of health.
Can you tell me some pros and cons for this class?
Any pros/cons?
Hey Ayumi, I noticed that in the 4th job you haven’t written Arrow Stream at all…what happened to that?
@Ruben: You can only summon 1 Arrow Platter in a location while you use other active skills to attack enemies. The other active skills include the Arrow Platter. So in some Youtube videos, you may have noticed some Bow Master player is able to use 2 Arrow Platter.
Hey Ruben! I dont think you can place 2.. But I think they just place one, and use one by hand.
You can place one and then just hold that key to use it for yourself…
I hope you ment this and I helped you out!
How can a person place mutliple Arrow Platters. It’s my first time using this class, thanks.
@Shogundr4g0n: Maxing Hookshot early on does not benefit much in terms of training efficiency as it does not help you to defeat monsters faster.
ayumi, on 3rd job why not raise Hookshot / Schutike Eisen as soon as possible to get more of the benefit from the passive???
also marksman limit break is quite useless for unfunded. at wat attack range can we hit the cap for snipe?
i changed from bow master to marksman and can feel the damage is higher even my xbow master range is smaller. the only thing i hate is marksman nid to be at the furthest range to deal the most damage due to the passive. but bowmaster is good in a way since if u have the blood arrows on with advanced quiver and arrow platter is set up even when seduced the hp still can drain. but we sacrificing damage since not using magic arrows. feel like changing to bowmaster back since i hate that “nid to be far to do most damage” passive of marksman but bowmaster is very bad at mobbing if compared to marksman.
I also prefer the one with lesser funding needed.
Marksman have very unstable damage, so that ain’t really liked for me. I don’t like how far I have to be to do lots of damage; I don’t like how bulky I seem with the crossbow covering me. I prefer boss killing. I also prefer a versatile weaponry, so I don’t have to end up regretting doing something when the time comes. I don’t prefer partying that much because I am inconsistently online (so I can’t make a time for my guild members), and I don’t believe that one single party buff makes it enough for someone to let me leech off of because there is usually the same class in the area and people tend to diss on Marksman (popularity issues)!
@Blisses: It would be quite helpful if you could enlighten me about what you dislike about Marksman so I could advise you on which class suits you better. Marksman and Bow Master are similarly alike since they both uses bow and attack monsters far away from them instead of engaging in close combat in training and boss raid.
I’m having trouble picking Marksman or Bow Master. I don’t like Marksman so far, but I don’t know about Bow Master. Please list strengths and weaknesses
Hey Ayumi, u need revamp this skills too xD BM now are more powerfull 🙂
Illusion step +80dex + 30% avoidability. Passive Effect: -20% dmg taken
and more skills… Good luck! and nice ur work!

ayumi why dont u suggest using points of hyper skills to upgrade sharp eyes?isnt it good?
in MSEA:
Illusion step +80dex.
Hurricane split reduce dmg to 65% of original, but hit+1. so it’s 300%*0.65=195%*2=390%.
Bow master quite good since it have blood sucking arroe+arrow platter, you no need to constantly pot yourself. Killing boss using magic arrow+hurricane are super easy! But beware bm hp average and low armor you must heal yourself by pot if you try to vs boss with magic arrow. I’m curious about masksman damage. Who can tell meXD. Also arrow stream are good on killing mob while your arrow platter put at other side you can kill mob from 2 different direction!
I’m currently play GMS v169 an Arow Stream is replaced with Hurricane again 🙂
MAX means including the points using the mastery books so just buy the mastery books according to which skills the guide asked to max 1st.
the skill icon for uncountable arrow in 4th job skills is wrong
Can someone help me???!!!! I have about 130 SP un-spent and I have all the 4th job skills maxed (the level cap without mastery books) so which skill should i use mastery books on to max?!!?!?!
IAM PAST LEVEL 140 AND I HAVE 120 SP UNUSED, WHICH MASTERY BOOK SHOULD I BUY?!?!?
What is the mastery book skill allocation order?
Hey, the hyper skill level req’s were changed, Arrow Stream – Reinforce is now unlocked at level 168. Could you update the hyper skills build? thanks
Why not pump 1 point into Cane Split Attack? The description is misleading, it is reduced to 65% of the ORIGINAL %, it even says so in the game. So Cane now hits 195% x2 = 390% instead of the original 300%. So effectively it’s a 90% increase in damage. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I am positive that I am correct.
Is it better to put ignore guard for sharp eyes rather than critical rate? Hoping for an explanation~
@Jacky: Thanks for spotting the error! I have updated the skill name from Arrow Blasters to Hurricane for GMS while Arrow Platter to Time of Storm for MSEA.
There are some mistakes on hyper skill build. The Hurricane became Arrow Blasters.
Wind archer or blowmaster ?? pls
@ken
Pros – high hits/s
cons – must rebuff enchanted quiver every 30s or so, difficult to fund, currently arrow blaster activates on damage reflect
if u like the playstyle of rebuffing every 30s, have a quick reaction to change the direction of arrow blaster before reflect, and if you want to fund, have tons of money, play a bowmaster
i realized there isnt a pro/con section for this guide … can someone who have played a bowmaster in this revam help me out?
The hyper skill build may need to be updated, since it still recommends building Arrow Blaster hypers that have been changed in favour of Hurricane hypers, as well as not recommending Hurricane – Split Attack, which provides a 30% increase to damage.
@Poom: Currently the Bow Master skills you are seeing here is with the Shinning Patch update (latest skill changes from GMS and KMS). However, MapleSEA is lagging behind and would need to wait for it to release the latest skill revamp for Bow Master. 🙂
Aroow platter in 3rd job?
In msea it’s 4th job 0.0
@matthew: The delay 120ms refers to the delay per arrow shot from Arrow Blaster aka Arrow Platter. If you divide 1 second (1000ms) with 120ms, you will get a value of 8.333. This means it shoots approximately 8 arrows per second 🙂 I have updated the description (foot → arrow) to avoid confusion.
@unknown: Thanks for your feedback! I have updated the skill icons for Hyper Skills! Do take note that these icons are representing the ones in Shinning Patch 🙂
the hyper skills picture has error
have any clue of what they mean by delay per foot is 120ms? an arrow per .12 seconds? or it takes .12 seconds to install?
@Ohionlab: May I know which MapleStory region are you playing from and version number? Is it GMS or MSEA or something else? In GMS, its called Arrow Blaster and has the following Hyper Skills (Reinforce, Boss Rush, Spread). In MSEA, its called Arrow Platter and has the following Hyper Skills (Reinforce, Boss Killer, and Extra Target)
@Oholiab: Oh yeah, forgot to point out one more thing. Auto-buff skill from pet only works with “supportive skill” that has “no cooldown”. The supportive skill refers to not being a toggle type (on/off) and should provide buff that has “a certain duration” to yourself at least. If it does not cast a buff on you, it will never work. Example, Enchanted Quiver at max level has a cooldown of 30 seconds. So since it does not meet the requirement of not having cooldown, auto-buff skill will not accept/enable it.
@Ayumilove
@Han Gil
No, it doesn’t work. As I already said, I tried…
I bought the Buff Skill for my pet just to try to auto activate the Enchanted Quiver and it doesn’t work.
@Han Gil: It should work. Based from my experience, I couldn’t assign a macro skill (containing 3 buff skill activation) to my pet. Also, toggle skill and active skill can’t be assigned. Only supportive skills (e.g. buff party members or buff self).
@Ayumilove
Can you please check that Hyper Skill build?
I can’t find “Arrow Blaster – Reinforce” nor “Arrow Blaster – Boss Rush”.
Also, why not get the Hurricane Reinforce, Rush and Split?
Thanks in advance!
@Han Gil No, it won’t work. I tried.
Hi Ayumi! I have a question. If I had the Auto-Buff Pet Skill, would the Enchanted Quiver Skill work with it? And what about Soul Arrow?
@wilson: For bossing and easier training, I would recommend you to go with Marksman. It has this special Snipe skill that deals tons of damage and its spammable (no delay once you acquire the No Delay Snipe Hyper Skill).
Hi, i’m going to make a bowman, well which should i go for? Marksman ? Bowmaster?
I’m looking for good boss, good training.
thanks.
@Remled: Thanks for your feedback! I have corrected the skill description.
Hurricane – Split Attack
Required Level: 195
Damage decreased by 65% per shot but compensated by hitting twice. FALSE!!!!
IS: reduces damage to 65% of the original damage
Just made a new character, Idk about you guys but I’m loving the Arrow Blaster(Platter), its an amazing skill and it doesn’t use up the Quiver Cartridge arrows if you set it down. If you switch your Quiver Cartridge to Draining and set the Arrow Blaster down near some mob, you will be near invincible with the constant health drain. I’d suggest you guys max that first if you want to have a easier time leveling.
This method seems to be working well for someone without a pet since I can slowly go pick stuff up and not worry about dying.
Hi there, I’m a Maplesea player (You&I patch now) currently maining an AB and thinking of switching to either a Bowmaster or Windarcher post Star Force but cant decide on which is better.
Does anyone have an idea as to which one would be better if I had 4 pieces of Fafnir (12 starred), 4 pieces of tyrant (8 starred) and meister set (3 set effect) post Star Force?
My dex would be ~12k
@anon12: The skills shown here is fro GMS v.157 or MapleStory that has implemented Shinning Star patch. MSEA is lagging way behind KMS & GMS changes which had already implemented this new skill rebalancing. I wonder what is slowing down MSEA progress? hackers/botters/Disconnection?
For the Bowmaster job skills , the arrowblaster and hurricane should exchange their spots .
@ROY: Have you tried Magatia? It’s a good spot to earn some nice EXP there. I have not kept update with MSEA since it gets content from KMS kinda slow compared to GMS.
@Kelvin: MSEA has not applied the Shinning Star Patch which moves the Hurricane from 3rd job to 4th job. For more details, check this patch update http://ayumilove.net/maplestory-update-notes-gms-v157/ Currently MSEA is way behind GMS and KMS. GMS is 6 months late where as MSEA is approximately 9-10 months late before getting the new content from KMS.
Hi, In MSEA there’s no hurricane at 4th job and skills are named differently.
Can i check if skill names are updated? Or are these based on other versions of Maple?
where to train my ranger level 60 🙁 the server im at is new SEA server. and it doesnt have much people. so cant pq TT.TT
@Galvar: I’m not sure which is more powerful since I rarely concentrate on the damage of each. But I know Mercedes is kinda weak compared to other classes such as Kaiser/Luminous/Demon Avenger. Probably I equip them with better scrolled-potential weapons.
I was wondering if Bowmaster is stronger than Wind Archer or is Wind Archer stronger than Bowmaster, after the recent revamp of Wind Archer?
With the new Star Force patch, is it better to max Flame Surge instead of Arrow Platter ?
Never mind, i see that Hurricane can be used like a Machine Gun, and is too usefull, this build is right…
I think for Rangers is better MAX Flame Surge, and left Hurricane in 14, because, Flame Surge give mor damage, attack 6 enemies and burn the enemy in final, Hurricane, just gives 2 shots and for me the damage of Hurricane is lower then Flame Surge.
Erm, Hi Ayumi. I’ve accidentally gave 16 SP to Flame surge. Which skill for 3rd job should I add 2 lesser SP with?
@shirlyn hookshot increases max hp by a %.
Hey ayumi, may i kniw why didn’t u max flamesurge? Isn’t flame surge useful for mobbing? And also why not move the skill points from hookshot to flame surge? Thx:)
Wouldn’t it be better to leave hurricane at 1 since arrow blaster would increase damage but not mp cost?
Hello, why don’t change skill same as windbreaker. I’m asking/vote for changing more interesting skills. That’s only thank you.
Thx for the information. So bow master is stronger at bossing ?
@??!!!~~~ : Dark Knight is stronger but does not deal insane damage at very high speed.
Is bow master or dark Knight stronger? Reply asap
Thanks Rashid for your feedback! I have edited the space to NPC Chat.
I just want to say that for Arrow Blaster, you should note down that the button to press to set it down is NPC Chat, which isn’t always Space. It’s better to be more specific.
does the Damage over time effect on flame surge make it worth maxing over any other skill?
Im sorry for posting such an amateur question. But i wanted to know, for the fourth job, is there a specific way the sp should be added? .. Like what is best to max first and all..
does the stun work on high level bosses because once you get to a really high level i don’t think you have to worry about any enemies being an issue to the point were you have to try to stun them
@George Low: It depends on the enemy, if he always dodges you (like Papulatus on hibernate mode) or if he keeps knockbacking you, Arrow Stream does more damage than Hurricane.
@Jesse: See my reply to xbinki. Arrow Bomb is not used for damage but for its stun-ability against enemies which are not able to take down within 1-4 hits. You stun it, then hit it with your primary skill. This method allows you to avoid getting hit unnecessarily. If this play method does not suit you, then you may max Bow Booster instead for the extra 20 seconds.
@xbinki: I usually refresh all my skills using macro when all other buff skill (180 sec) expires, so the 20 seconds does not make much of a difference to me. You can take 1 SP from Arrow Bomb and add into Bow Booster to max it if you find yourself having the extra 20 second is more convenient.
Yeah what xbinki asked why not max bow booster instead of a pointless first job attack skill that will never be used in the long run
i’m new to bowman and i wanted to ask why are we dont max bow booster at 2nd job?
ty about the good guide!
So would that make hurricane + arrow blaster or Arrow stream + arrow blaster have more damage?
Hi George Low, based on the skill description as provided in GMS, the Hurricane damage is overridden by Arrow Blaster’s (Flaming Hurricane). Hurricane attacks more times compared to Arrow Stream (aka Uncountable Arrow) the rate of increasing chance to break enemy armor is mainly faster. Similarly to a bus and a Lamborghini, both have to travel on same road and distance to get to a destination but difference in packing X number of passengers (aka damage).
Ayumi I have a few questions if you could answer them
1. so that means hurricane does not need to be maxed at 3rd job because arrow blaster sets hurricane to its percentage regardless of hurricane level correct?
2. If hurricane is the same arrows per second (8) im assuming, wouldnt that proc armor break at a higher rate than uncountable arrow meaning hurricane + arrow blaster having more dps than uncountable arrow + arrow blaster
Thanks in advance
Hi Christian, I have corrected Bow Master 3rd Job Skill Build. It should be left 14/20 instead of Flame Surge aka Inferno since Arrow Blaster automatically sets Hurricane damage to be in sync with Flaming Hurricane damage regardless of its level 🙂
Is Hurricane still worth maxing? I maxed inferno before seeing the guide, and I don’t know if I should max hurricane now, since I’m level 171. Would Arrow Blaster automatically increase hurricane’s damage regardless of hurricane’s level? Thanks 🙂
Then in your opinion , bowmaster will be the best or better job for bossing after red? I guess before red its marksman ranked the first place
Hi MyDestiny, Uncountable Arrow is slow but packs a punch in a single blow. Plus, every damage per shot will be reduced by enemy defense, so having 1 single shot vs 2 single shot is better in all ways. Also, Uncountable Arrow is good in some scenario where boss likes to hide and seek. It appears in front of you, dealing an attack, and momentarily disappears somewhere to replenish HP. (Similarly to Papulatus)
And why not people using Installed Arrow Blaster + Hurricane since Uncountable Arrow is so much slower then Hurricane?
So in your opinion , the best bossing job would be Bowmaster?
Hi MyDestiny, usually players would use Arrow Blaster (summoned) + Uncountable Arrow skill for bossing.
Then what skill should be the best bossing skill among Hurricane and Arrow Blaster ? Hurricane does 8 arrow per second and Arrow Blaster? And also , what does it mean by install in Arrow Blaster?
I guess bowmaster is the best bossing job after RED patch right because marksman’s snipe nerfed to 1 hit to boss although with huge damage
Hi MyDestiny, Arrow Blaster passively increases the damage of Hurricane skill. Adding 1 SP (Skill Point) into Arrow Blaster increases Hurricane damage (159% at Hurricane max level) to 189% at Level 1 Arrow Blaster. Maxing Arrow Blaster will automatically passively increases Hurricane damage to 276%. Hope that answers your question 🙂
What does Arrow Blaster mentioning Hurricane damage? does it mean it use Hurricane at the same time while holding Arrow Blaster key?
the pheonix actually looks like a pheonix now
Oh my goodness, I cannot wait to see this come to GMS. Although it’s not expected till late 2013 or even early 2014, I can’t wait to try out the new skills. I’m glad I made a bowmaster while I was bored and looking to waste time :D. I regret nothing
Hi Dsien, I have not tried Arrow Blaster with Boss on Damage Reflect Status. If anyone have tried, please share your experience 😀
If the Arrow Blaster is installed and the Boss enters the damage reflect status, will it reflect or work like a summoned spirit?
wouldn’t it be better to max bow booster in the first job and just leave a point out of arrow bomb since arrow bomb will easily be replaced in the second job and you will always be using bow booster.
Hi Anzu, I have fixed the Hurricane and Concentration icons. Thanks for the notice!
Updated 3rd and 4th Job Skills Details from KMST to KMS.
Arrow Quiver applies to all skills. So, magic arrows (poison arrows, and drain arrows) activate on the skill Hurricane. It can apply to regular attacks too. And arrow quiver is a specialty skill giving you mystical (since using magic might confuse you) arrows summoned when you attack. So you can still use regular/attack arrows, but Soul Arrow is the skill that you use not to consume arrows. Hope this helps.
Do the Quiver Cartridge Apply only to normal attack or to all Attack even skill?
Also does that mean we don’t need to buy arrow anymore? since the Archer/Bowman have Archer Mastery skill we don’t need Arrow except the arrow for Quiver Cartridge?
Thank you Ayumilove 😀
In 3rd job, hurricane and concentration have the same icon.
Hi Cake, thanks for your patience and reminder 😀 I have added more info on this now 🙂
Please do archer revamps before thief and pirate. I’ve been waiting for almost a month.
