Zero Storyline
This story continues from Demon Slayer’s past. Demon Slayer captured the Goddess of Time before betraying the Black Mage. All the commanders have been waiting for this moment. The frozen Goddess gives birth to Zero by Goddess Tears! Alpha and Beta were formed by the Goddess Rhinne’s tears. They are brothers and sisters. The Black Mage had the two locked into the Mirror World, and placed his Commander Will in charge of the two. Alpha (The male) was brought up as a Shadow Knight without knowing of his sister twin, and his sister twin was sealed into the “Shadow Monster temple” as the “evil monster” Alpha later found out about his sister, unsealed her, blahblah fought against Will, and once you hit 180, you break free of the Mirror World and can now have a complete presence in the Maple World.

The next tutorial for Beta (after Alpha), you are required to put 1 SP (Skill Point) in Rising Slash, and you get +2 Air Raid from the tutorial. The remaining 2 SP can then be put in Heavy Sword Mastery afterwards to max it. The first 2 offensive skills (Rising Slash, Air Raid) are not maxed in earlier stage because to save SP for higher level skills combinations. If you find yourself spamming the basic attacking skills.

Additional Information
Zero Notes
- Zero uses Dual Character system and this duo consists of Alpha (male) and Beta (female). Both have their own separate skill trees and skill points.
- Zero can battle monsters with either 2 methods which are Tagging or Assisting Route. Tagging allows you alternate between Alpha or Beta. Both have a different style of attacking. Or you can choose for assist which means that after a period of time Alpha and Beta will combine their strength that allows you to deal very high damage.
- Created from Goddess of Time, Zero uses his ability by consuming TF (Time Force) instead of MP (Magic/Mana Points). Time Force replenish very quickly allowing you continuously activate many skills. It replenish at double rate during Tag Mode.
- Alpha and Beta uses their own weapon and even their own HP and ability gauge are separate. Cash items will be equipped on both characters.
- It is possible on Zero to use a variety of effects by using the Transcendent Skill. This allows him to control time and manipulate buff and debuff times, resurrect himself and become invincible.
- Through the spirits Lapis and Lazuli you are able to enhance the weapons of Alpha and Beta simultaneously.
- Zero will also feature something called Premium Hunting, giving you the ability to train efficiently and effectively in customizable maps. You can even invite friends using the Boarding System to party!
- Zero`s Temple will allow you to move to areas across the Maple World easily.
- Zero’s Secondary Weapon is basically Zero’s weapon itself. Assuming you are in Alpha character, Beta’s weapon acts as the secondary weapon. If you are in Beta character, Alpha’s weapon acts as the secondary weapon. The secondary weapon’s potential stats is applied.
Zero Activation Combo Overview
Zero utilizes a combination combo system that will allow them to perform powerful and spectacular combos by just pressing one attack key. Each attack will belong in a preset combination and by repeatedly pressing the key for the first attack in the combination, the follow up attacks will be performed. For example by just using the skill Moon Strike, the first attack will be Moon Strike, followed by Piercing Thrust, and ending with Shadow Strike. Note: The *Advanced* skill version will replace the *Basic* version once you have unlocked them (e.g. Spin Cutter replaced with Advanced Spin Cutter). It’s recommended that the keyboard layout should have at least 2 main skills from Alpha and Beta for quick assist/tag combo while compensating the skill cooldown.
Alpha Activation Combo Skills
1. Moon Strike x3: Moon Strike → Piercing Thrust → Shadow Strike (0s)
2. Flash Assault x2: Flash Assault → Spin Cutter (5s)
3. Rolling Cross x2: Rolling Cross → Rolling Assault (10s)
4. Wind Cutter x3: Wind Cutter → Wind Striker → Storm Break (15s)
Beta Activation Combo Skills
1. Rising Slash x2: Rising Slash → Air Raid (0s)
2. Flash Cut x2: Flash Cut → Throwing Weapon (5s)
3. Spin Driver x2: Spin Driver → Wheel Wind (10s)
4. Giga Crash x3: Giga Crash → Falling Star → Earth Break (15s)
Mixing Alpha Beta Activation Combo Skills
1. Boss-1: Rolling Cross x2 → Wind Cutter x3 → Giga Crash x3 → Spin Driver x2
2. Boss-2: Rolling Cross x2 → Wind Cutter x3 → Flash Cut x2 → Giga Crash x3
3. Train-1: Wind Cutter x3 → Flash Assault x2 → Rolling Cross x2 → Giga Crash x3
4. Train-2: Spin Driver x2 → Flash Cut x2
5. Train-3: Wind Cutter x3 → Rolling Cross x2 → Giga Crash x3 → Spin Driver x2
6. Boss-3: Wind Cutter x3 → Rolling Cross x2 → Spin Driver x2 → Falling Star → Earth Break → Spin Driver x1
Explanation:
You can hold on to Wheel Wind for 3-7 seconds and repeat to provide ample time for other skill’s cooldown to reset. For Boss-3 method: You can repeat this combo without a second in delay because of how cooldown reduces with each hit. Some may feel that Flash Assault doesn’t provide as much DPS (Damage per Second) and have avoided it. The true benefit to using this is ONLY during tag bonus in order to benefit from alpha’s throwing weapon assist bonus.
Zero Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Does Zero start at Lv. 100?
A: Zero starts as Lv. 100 in the Mirror World.
Q: What is Zero’s character card effect?
A: Bonus EXP increase from 4% up to 10%.
Lv. 110 = 4% bonus EXP
Lv. 130 = 6% bonus EXP
Lv. 160 = 8% bonus EXP
Lv. 200 = 10% bonus EXP
Q: Does Zero have a Link Skill?
A: Yes, Zero’s Link Skill is called Rhinne’s Blessing. It decreases damage taken from monsters by a percentage and allows you to ignore a percentage of a monster’s defense.
Zero’s Link Skill has 5 levels. You can raise the level by finding Tears of the Goddess which can be found in Zero’s story line. At level 5, Rhinne’s Blessing decreases damage taken from monsters by 15% and allows you to ignore 10% of a monster’s defense.
Q: Is Zero a limited class?
A: Yes, for Korea it is only available during the summer of 2013. Whether Nexon will re-release it after the summer is up to them.
Q: What weapon does Zero use?
A: Alpha uses the Long Sword and Beta uses the Great Sword. These are entirely new type of weapons, but they count as two-handed.
Q: What is Zero’s main stat?
A: Zero is a warrior. The primary stat of a warrior is STR.
Q: Does Zero have hyper skills?
A: No, but Zero has ”Transcendent Skills”. Since Zero is an offspring of Rhinne and the new Transcendent of Time, it can utilize the power of time through these special skills. Transcendent skills are acquired at level 100, 110, 120, 140, 170 and 200.
Q: How do you recover TF (Time Force)?
A: TF is regenerated automatically very fast. If you are using Tag as your attacking style, you regenerate it twice as fast. Basically, you don’t need to worry about running out of TF.
Q: What kind of equipment can Zero wear?
A: Zero can only wear unisex equipment. Male or female equipment cannot be worn. Regarding cash items, Zero can wear unisex cash items on Alpha and Beta. Male and female cash items can only be worn by Alpha and Beta respectively.
Q: Which one is the male and which one is the female?
A: Alpha is the male and Beta is the female.
Q: For the new Zero class, let’s say you are using Zero Alpha while tagging/assisting with Zero Beta and somehow Beta dies, does Alpha get affected in any way?
A: If you die on Alpha or Beta, you’ll die. The other character is not affected, but you are.
Q: Is it true that Zero cannot acquire EXP from Maple World monsters before Lv. 180?
A: Sadly, this is true. It is mandatory to complete all eight chapters of Zero’s story line if you want to acquire EXP from Maple World monsters. This includes additional content such as party quests and Monster Park. Zero can gain experience from party quests such as RnJ (Romeo and Juliet) and DI (Dimension Invasion) once they reached Level 120.
Q: If Zero cannot acquire EXP from Maple World monsters, how does he earn EXP?
A: You earn EXP from monsters in Mirror World, the clear EXP from clearing a Mirror World dungeon and from quests. I encourage you to start and complete all the quests. They give very good EXP and sometimes additional rewards.
Q: How much EXP does the average Zero quest line give, like % wise?
A: The amount of EXP you can get from quests can vary. From early on, you can get about 900,000 up to 1 or 2 million EXP. After you progress and clear more chapters, the amount of EXP increases.
Q: Do cubes drop from Mirror World monsters?
A: Only boss monsters drop Strange Cubes. So, yes, boss monsters in any Mirror World dungeon has a chance to drop a Strange Cube.
Q: Can non-Zero characters enter Mirror World?
A: Yes and no. Only Zero can enter the Mirror World. However, you can invite and summon your friends to the dungeon you are in.
Q: Are the Mirror World dungeons party play?
A: Unfortunately, no. Though, this can change since the Child of God content is not released in the public server yet.
Q: Are there any other advantages that you can receive from playing in the Mirror World dungeons?
A: Sometimes an hourglass appears in your map. If you click on the hourglass, you receive a buff. There are different buffs that you randomly can get:
– An increase of 15% EXP inside the dungeon for 2 minutes.
– An increase of x2 drop rate inside thedungeon for 2 minutes.
– An increase of +20 Movement Speed and +10 AllStats inside the dungeon for 2 minutes.
– An increase of 50% chance to find an Epic tiered item for 2 minutes.
Q: I have seen some Zero videos and I noticed the red damage with the white outline. Why is it different?
A: The darker red damage indicates that the damage is done by the other Zero character who automatically attacks. This can only be seen when you’re using Assist.
Q: Does Zero need Mastery Books?
A: Yes, for the Advanced-type skills. These skills are an upgrade from an existing skill. You can buy any Mastery Book 20 and Mastery Book 30 of your choice by trading 5 Time Coin from Cello located Zero’s Temple. These Time Coins are obtained by completing dungeons in Mirror World.
Q: Is Zero more OP than other classes? Do you think they’ll get nerfed?
A: Zero was buffed in the recent patch which made them more appealing and stronger. Zero is a strong class, but I don’t know if it is OP. Balancing is part of a game’s life. Can you count how many times MapleStory received a balancing update? This will only continue. Balancing will never stop.

Greetings. Thank you very much for all the work you put into all your guides. They are extremely helpful. However, I have a couple questions regarding the Zero skill build.
In the Beta skill build, I noticed the numbering is a little strange. You have numbers 1 to 20, then you have 13 to 20 AGAIN with different skill names, then 21 to 24. Is this just typos with the numbering, or is there a change in the skill build that was not updated correctly?
Also, at the end of the Beta skill build explanation, you have the last sentence, “If you find yourself spamming the basic attacking skills.” I assume there was something else to add there? Or is it a punctuation error after the previous sentence?
I hope I have helped by bringing these observations to your attention. Thank you for your time, and have a nice day.
@Etay: I’m not sure whether Zero is difficult to fund or not. I just equip my character with gears upgraded with potential scrolls and star forced it till it can 1~2 hit KO monsters.
@lightxs: I do not know the exact quest name where you can earn EXP from Maple World. Based from the forum, it mentioned that you need to complete all of the quest in Chapter 2 of Zero story.
@all: The following items have been updated:
1. Updated GMS and MSEA to dynamic changelogs
2. Added Zero Enhancement Cores
3. Added Zero 5th Job Skill (Shadow Flash)
@Sirch: I have removed the statement for Zero Hyper Skills since Zero does not have Hyper Skills but they have Transcendent Skills. Basically Adventurer and Explorer terms are used interchangeably.
You state: “Zero Hyper Skills: Everything maxed! These skills are similar to Adventurer Hyper Skills which you can max all of them!”
I am just curious what an adventurer is because it sure isn’t an explorer or a hero class as far as I can tell.
Hi i just got zero and can i know when would i get to earn exp from maple world i know its 120 but what quest do i need to do for it.
Hey ayumi!
First of all thank you for the great guide!
I had alot of questions about the class and you made everything clear, but I have another question : is Zero hard to fund?
Best regards.
@Genos: I have updated the Zero guide to avoid adding SP (Skill Points) into Shadow Strike.
hello ayumilove !
i thank you enough for this guide, everyone in need of build come here, really a useful guide i must say, but there’s something that you must change in this guide, if not this will trouble alot of zero’s out there.
so there’s this skill called “Shadow Strike” its Alpha’s skill, my advice is please change this skill to “highly not recommended A.K.A useless skill” this skill will mess with your combo, so, its better to not put any points to this skill at all, or else they gonna get trouble in the future and needs to reset their skill.
that’s all, thank you !
Can zero dovellinel fairyvacademy quests ?
@AsunaxIU: The level 180 requirement is not required for GMS as it has been changed to level 120. I have not confirmed it in MapleSEA yet.
@itsGir: Thanks for your comment! I’ll update the guide accordingly 🙂
Hi Ayumi,
Some additions/changes from my PoV (210 Zero main)
Introduction:
“This will only be available in Summer 2013” -> It’s temporarily available now and opens up every once in awhile
“you’ll have two weapons as well – Tachi and Great Sword!” -> the blades are called Lapis and Lazuli in GMS – Alpha wields Lazuli, Beta wields Lapis
Pros and Cons:
– You don’t need to buy potions because you do dungeons that drops potion like Mu Long. -> important addition is that this is the Time Dungeons only, outside of the dungeons you need to use potions like everyone else
– There a bookshelf that increase the character stat; ambition,charm,empathy.. etc 3 times a day by 5 levels. At random. -> it’s not 5 levels, it is a certain amount that decreases as your trait levels go up, so at some point you won’t even gain a level off it. From the top of my head it ranges between 500 at earlier levels and around 150 at higher levels, but not 100% sure.
– Weapon potential cost money and a special currency from killing mobs/bosses and completing mirrow world dungeons. Can potential as long as resources are available. -> apart from the spelling error (mirrow), this only works up to Unique – if you turn your weapon Legendary, this will no longer work.
– Additional pros, in my opinion, are:
You can turn invincible for 15 seconds, saving yourself from potential 1hko attacks (Arkarium, Magnus balls, etc,) and you have a skill which resurrects you immediately in case you get knocked out (it’s like Heaven’s door).
Zero’s version of Echo of Hero’s cooldown can be nullified with Time Holding, which means you got 100% uptime on Echo
Alpha is incredibly mobile in battle with Rolling Cross, Flash Assault, Burst Jump, Burst Step and Burst Leap. Beta has the last three options to her disposal too, making the class quite mobile as a whole
– “You MUST complete all 8 chapters of Zero’s Storyline.” -> this is no requirement anymore, but if you want to get your Link Skill and passive to level 5, you pretty much have to.
– Additional cons:
Relatively hard class to play and master, especially when bossing, since highest DPS requires you to keep moving around, which can prove challenging on endgame bosses
Slow attacks on Beta make it hard to react quickly to incoming danger if you are in the animation of attacking
You must have a level 100 character in the same world to even make a Zero
Stat building is very hard on Zero, since Alpha and Beta have completely different specialties (Alpha has high crit rate and higher IED, but Beta has stance and resistance, for example), meaning that some stats will be useful on one, but wasted on the other.
Notes:
– Zero will also feature something called Premium Hunting, giving you the ability to train efficiently and effectively in customizable maps. You can even invite friends using the Boarding System to party! -> if you mean the dungeons, that’s not customizable. If not, I have no clue what this is, I haven’t found it yet.
Zero Beginner Skills
– Rhinne’s Blessing is a passive skill, not a supportive
– Temple’s Recall has a 600 second CD, not 30
– Perhaps you want to place a note under Divine Speed that it is almost always better than Divine Force to use. The only exception is when you party with another Zero, meaning one can use Force and the other Speed
– Rewind has a CD of 1800 seconds, not 600
Transcendent Skills
– Info on Intensive Time (including image) is missing. It is essentially Echo of Hero (40 minutes + 4% atk/matk, 2 hour cooldown). As noted earlier, you can reset this with Time Holding
Skill builds
– The SP remaining on some of the levels mentioned in the skill order are off by 3 (it claims sometimes you have 19 SP at a certain level, while you have 16 in reality). I don’t know these by heart, but both trees need a review
5th Job
– Joint Attack is called Twin Blades of Time in GMS
– For some reason, the skill Spin Cutter from Alpha is listed as Blade Ring in the Node Overview (when you search for it). I do not know why, but searching for Wind Cutter won’t result in the correct node
Combo Activation
– A very important bossing order is missing: Falling Star x3 -> Throwing Weapon x2 -> Wind Striker x3 -> Rolling Cross x2. This allows you to stay mostly static while dealing loads of damage. If you’re fast enough, you can squeeze one Spin Driver in between Falling Star and Throwing Weapon to activate Alpha’s Rolling Cross before throwing your weapon as Beta.
FAQ
– Change Character Card to Legion Bonus (as well as in description of class)
– Zero is (as noted earlier), a limited class which gets re-enabled from time to time
– Zero can now aquire EXP from monsters in Maple World past level 120 providing chapter 2 is complete (the 180 requirement is gone)
If you need any more info, please let me know 🙂 I’m happy to help
u no longer need 180lvl instead of 120lvl ,is that available on maplesea too?
I’m now currently a Level 201 Zero with just a range of 150k – 170k (Alpha) and 170k – 190k (Beta), how can I increase my damage to at least 1 mil? I need some advice and btw now my zero is currently using the Gold Label set with only 39% STR. Just returned to maple during March. 😕
Will weapon growth of zero weapon bring over the previous stats including soul weapon status, number of starforce obtained and set effect scrolled on zero weapon (root abyss set effect) ???
@Takeshi: MapleStory Official website will announce the Zero Job Creation. It’s a seasonal job, the job application is available on certain season. I guess it also currently applies to Beast Tamer too.
@Sek: Any active skills you have such as “Flash Cut” that has cooldown will be halved during Limit Break execution.
@Kenneth: The Limit Break skill description does not mentioned about “Attacks increase bind duration” though. When Limit Break is activated, any monsters within range will be bound up (frozen in time) for 10 seconds. If the monsters are already bind by other skills such as Kinesis “Mental Shock”, Limit Break does not apply its bind effect towards that enemy/monster.
HII Ayumi. Are you able to explain for limit break, what do they mean by attacks increase bind duration by 100%? is it by others attacks? And does it increase Zeros bind or others bind?
Hi Ayumi, can you explain how the Limit Break can make other skills’ Cooldown quickly decreases by 200% for 30 seconds, Can you provide a example?
Hey Ayumi. Will Zero be a available for creation again? If yes, then when? Thank you.
@Erikuzuma: Thanks for your note. I have updated the guide above regarding Zero ability to gain EXP outside of mirror world upon completing Zero Storyline Chapter 2 which is around Level 120.
@asdasd: Thanks for your comment! I have updated Zero Skill Detail “Long Sword Mastery” from 50 weapon attack to 40 weapon attack at max level.
You can actually receive experience outside the Mirror World now I think. I got my Zero from lv 140 to 148 in Commerci.
First of all, where can you obtain Absolab essence, and second of all, when you starforce their weapons, can the weapons get destroyed or will they not?
@mavis wait for the update? It just recently updated on kms and wait for it to come to ms at ypur region
Ayumi. How to get joint attack skill?
is the skill outdated? I on mSEA here longsword mastery only gives 40 wa, 30 IED, instead of 50 wa and 50 IED, Broadswoard mastery only gives 80 wa and 30% boss
may i ask how the zero get joint attack skill?
may i ask how to upgrade zero weapon to level 180 (weapon level 8)?
there are required an item ( absolabs essence )
where i can find this item?
@issac: Sorry, I do not have the list of equip with me now. I have sold all of them.
What overall , belt , cape , shoulder you are wearing ?
Hi ayumi, May I know what equipment , overall ,shoulder , belt , boots you are wearing ?
Hi, could you list out zero’s skills that needed to be level up using Mastery Books???
@moto: Thanks for sharing your pros and cons for Zero! I’ll add them to the guide above 🙂
Some more pro/cons for zero.
Pro:
– there a bookshelf that increase the character stat; ambition,charm,empathy.. etc 3 times a day by 5 levels. At random.
– has access to a npc that teaches smithing, mining, and herbalism at a cost of mesos and fatigue. (Prices do increase according to mastery level).
– double inventory space. (2 pages unlocked instead of one page)
– weapon potential cost money and a special currency from killing mobs/bosses and completing mirrow world dungeons. Can potential as long as resources are available.
Cons:
– only 2 cash ring slots
Can Zero(below lv 180) receive exp when fight boss?
@Myst: Its a scroll that adds a Zero weapon to the CRA set. However, it is very expensive and hard to find, so i would try to find an alternate set. It also has a chance to fail.
@Helkrolon: You can transfer Zero Link Skill upon obtaining the first teardrop from Ariant. Each time you get a Goddess teardrop as you progress through the storyline, your Zero link skill goes up a level. (1st teardrop = level 120 / 2nd teardrop = level 130 / 3rd teardrop = level 140 / level 140-160 quests gives fake teardrops / level 170 = you get the last 2 twin teardrops for 4th and 5th Zero Link Skill Level). You do not need to reach Level 180 to transfer link skill for Zero.
Hi Ayumi. Can we transfer zero link skill to another character like every other link skill and if so at what level of requirement must the level of link skill be in order to transfer to another character.
Anyone know how to get the fafnir weapon for zero.
@Henry: If you’re still deciding on a set, the quartermaster in Zero’s temple sells a fafnir scroll for 400 time coins that’ll add your weapon to the fafnir set.
@Henry: I’m not familiar with Zero Best Equips, perhaps you can check this link at http://www.basilmarket.com/Best-Equips-for-Zero-Thread-b4AVN-1
Hey Ayumilove, i was just wondering. Is it better to get fafnir equips or the gold label equips from Cello in Zero’s Temple? Because if i were to get the fafnir set i wouldnt get the 30% bossing bonus because there is no fafnir equip for zero. I really hope you respond because i dont know what to get. THANKS
Hi, for MapleSEA version of Zero, I am able to go out to Maple World and get exp after completing Chapter 2 of their storyline which is around level 120.
So I was looking at the pros and cons section, “can’t get exp from Maple World until level 180” isn’t right.
But then maybe MapleSEA is different from this guide lol.
@Anonymous: Thanks again for spotting the Alpha’s and Beta’s mastery skill icon mistake! I have swapped them around.
@Anonymous: Thanks for the correction! I have updated the typo from “Winter Cutter” to “Wind Cutter”.
I also noticed that it says winter cutter instead of wind cutter in the activation combo.
I think the icons of the mastery skills of Alpha and Beta are switched around
I was able to make a zero during the event where Nexon allowed us to make a zero again; however for some reason I can’t continue the onto: “Chapter 1 part 2: Leafre”. No matter where I am the same message appears: “The story cannot be proceeded here.” I am lv. 102, I was just wondering if anyone else was also getting this error or if I’m just doing something wrong, thanks!
@Valerious The level limit for Zero is different than other characters, u can’t play the events such as the star planet might be because u didn’t meet the level requirement for zero yet. Lv30 requirement for normal characters means the zero must reach at lease Lv120 inorder to paticipate in the event.
oh i see 😀 thx for da info
@Mr Gunta i think the level 180 part was last time. Now, as long as you complete chapter 2, you will be able to go maple world and get exp
hi, i heard someone said that zero suppose to be over level 180 then can only go to the maple world to earn experiences, but how come my zero can kill monster with experience in maple world at level 130?
hi, i heard people said that zero suppose to be over level 180 then can only go to the maple world to earn experiences, but how come my zero can kill monster with experience in maple world at level 130?
@Zero tha Hero: If your active partner dies, the other guy/gal will be out of action too. It will be kinda awkward to show 2 tombstones falling down since they are like close partners.
If somehow Alpha or Beta die and your left with one guy, can you still use assists/combo skills
@Ben: You start with 0 SP (Skill Points). Complete the preliminary Level 100 quest to obtain your free SP and level up (101+) to gain additional SP.
What the base SP of a Zero when you start one?
@Ma: Yeah, some party quest has level restriction which is quite a hassle for players who wishes to attempt them at higher levels especially Zero user’s that starts at a minimum level of 100. The current option is to attempt other party quest such as Dimension Invasion, Evolution Lab or Monster Park Extreme, Boss Raid (Zakum)
Hi Ayumi,
I like this class really much but the thing is they start at lv 100, so if I wanna do some cooking with tangyoon pq, there is no way for me to do it.
And I also have a question, I created a zero yesterday and today when I reach lv 120, I go to balrog to have some fun but somehow, I cannot fight him. When I click on the NPC to request for expedition, I keep getting a message which informs me that only player from lv 65-100 can enter but I already pass the lv 100. Does that mean I cannot fight him at all?
@Parousiah: Thanks for your comment. I’m sure it will help others who has the same query. I’ll add it to the top of the guide in case this comment gets buried.
Just leaving it here so others can know.
Zero can gain exp from maple world when you hit level 120, I already tried and confirmed it with my own Zero. I’m playing in GMS though so I don’t about the others.
can you do rnj now on a zero?
Kinda stoked to make one in 2 days!
IT’S BACK BABY.
When is the next time you think zero will be available to create? I’ve heard they’re really likely to be re-released this summer. Around June 6th?
Can anyone exact the number of skillbooks required for Zero skills all the way to maxed out state?
Zero can now gain experience in the maple world. (party quests+normal mobs+bosses)
@DualArrow:
Below is a table for Zero Link Skill:
Skill level Required level Stat
1 118 Ignore 2% DEF, Damage taken -3%
2 128 Ignore 4% DEF, Damage taken -6%
3 138 Ignore 6% DEF, Damage taken -9%
4 180 Ignore 8% DEF, Damage taken -12%
5 180 Ignore 10% DEF, Damage taken -15%
What level does zero have to be to use the character card? Please lemmeno~
Zeros in Maplestory SEA also no longer no longer need to be lvl180 to gain experience in maple world.
@Walker: You will get a Level 100 Zero when you create a new Zero character instead of beginning from Level 1.
Good guide as always, as a beginner, I tend to look here before doing anything with my SP. Just let me ask something, Zero is unlocked only when you get a character on lvl 100? In your account, or in a server?
Just to clarify (GMS): You no longer need to be lvl180 to gain experience in maple world.
I don’t know if its as soon as you can go there or only after chapter 2, but i’ve been leveling up my zero in maple world ever since around lvl 120.
Quick question on scrolling zero equips;
I know enhancing zero equips will carry the stats onwards. But does that also carry the scrolled stats? Because using 70% att scrolls on lvl 100~ only gives around 2-3 att, while on lvl 150~ it gives around 5att. So i was wondering if i should just wait til 150~ to scroll my zero weapons
@Mark: Mastery Books 20 + 30 if you have not maxed your skills yet.
What should i spend my time coins on once i saved a lot up
After you reached lvl180, you will be summoned to Hellisium, where you met one of the monk brothers, and he will bring you to meet all the Dark Mage’s generals. Will there be stories afterwards? Where do you suggest to lvl up quickly?
@AcExorcistZ: Divine Speed for mobility. If you can 1HKO (1 hit knock-out) enemies, its preferable to have more speed to reduce the traveling duration.
@Lewis: Regarding the naming for the mastery. Basically, MSEA and GMS using different naming. That made me confused at first 🙂
@Experience: Thanks for helping to answer the questions 🙂 I’ll add an explanation at the bottom of the skill build guide!
@Jay: At Level 100, Zero (both Alpha and Beta) starts with Level 8 mastery skill (Alpha: Level 8 Long Sword Mastery, Beta: Level 8 Heavy Sword Mastery). Hope this clears your doubt 🙂
Hi Ayumi. As many people have asked can I know why aren’t the mastery skills maxed?
@iEclipse obviously you have yet to play a zero, they start with 8 at creation level so I suppose ayumilove could have written max but either way is slightly confusing.
Any particular reason why we don’t max out either of the two sword masteries? Maybe I’m just blind, but I went through the skill build and I don’t see any other mention of the masteries after you raise them both to level 2. Aren’t the masteries important for smaller and more consistent damage ranges?
Ayumi, I was looking at the recommended skill build. You switched the sword mastery names. You listed Heavy Sword Mastery for Alpha and Long Sword Mastery for Beta. It should be swapped! 🙂
Says in faq that you cant exp outside of mirror until 180 but i just did a bunch of RNJ and DI and it leveled me up to 145…. also in mastery book section it should be noted that you can buy mastery books for 5 time coins each so super cheap. P.S.S. mastery books dont cost 7m and 10m respectively anymore
ZERO SO OP ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !! ! ! ! ! ! !! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! even though you need lvl 100 character in server to make a zero IT CAN REVIVE WAKOKOKOKKOKKOKOKOKOKOKOKOKOKOKOKOKOKO
Using Divine Force or Divine speed would help in clearing out dungeons faster?
I Wish Critical Bind will work on Beta not Alpha. Alpha already have 95% crit rate with Phantom link skil.
The pros of Zero look pretty appealing to me. Would Zero be good unfunded? The fact that I only need to buy armor seem to me that Zero is good unfunded.
Beta Skill guide Air Raid ( 5 ) suppose to be > Air Riot. I’m not sure wether am I correct, I was follow what was display on my own zero while follow your guide 😀
Hey Ayumi, I noticed that sometimes the boss don’t appear, is there a limit that you can fight the bosses in the mirror world?
What’s the difference of beta and alpha? Sorry for asking =)
In EMS zero is unavailable, will be returning?
I hope so =)
ok just wanted to help even though it was a small fix
@Vince: Zero Pros and Cons fixed!
on zero pro and cons you should probably fix you get pot like mu long instead of mu long like pots
@Justin – pizzamangler: GMS servers for all worlds are currently up 🙂
Hey Ayumi! Any updates? i saw there was downtime on GMS today but any estimate on an update? or know if like one is coming from KMS or w/e the other MS’s :] <3
@ZeroBlade hey dude by any chance do u know why i cant do current events like star world with my zero :C
Hey ayumi! I got a question when i was done with the mirror world i went to do my skills. I see that i already had 8 points into long sword and heavy sword. At lvl 101 i only had 3 sp so i put 2 into longsword and 1 into piercing thrust. So i have 10 sp into longsword mastery did i mess up?
forget it nvm< forgot they didnt have any hyper skills
missing the hyper skills
My Zero is 182, zero is so cool, he/she get a skill every 5 levels he/she leveled up. The only skills i didn’t get is critical bind and the last transadent skill. Everyone, if you have a chance to play zero, make one, he/she is so op. Comparing to other worriors, zero have high attack, speed, stats, range, and low cool down(every time zero uses a skill, eveery skill in cool down will decrease their cooldown by 4 seconds, even Burst jump, step, and flash counts). Make a zero and then buy the quest booster(2x quest exp) and do all the story line quests, you will get to 180+ in no time. Even if you don’t buy the quest booster, the story line quests level you up way faster than the monsters out side of mirror world. Even though Zero can go out and get exp from maple world after 120, leveling is way slower than inside of mirror world. After you bought the quest booster, you can get to 180 in less than 5 days. I make it to 180 from 161 by using the quest booster in 2 days with only playing 3-4 hours a day. And the quest booster will expire after 10 days which is enough for you to level from 100 to 180 and have 5-6 days extra. And you can buy skill mastery books from the temple of zero for 5 time coins, both the 20 and 30 are 5 time coins. I have like 1500+ time coins now. Play zero. It is OP. (sorry for my bad grammar and english).
Hi Ayumi! I was looking around on other websites and they all said I should not max advanced weapon throwing. What should I do?
nice website i love it. it helps me quite a lot about which skill to max and i think the zero story is a little wrong cause beta and alpha are from the same person goddess rhinnie only gave birth to zero then the black mage separated them into two which is alpha and beta.
You dont have to be lvl. 180 to gain exp in the Maple World anymore, you can gain exp when you get your first Godess Tear, well in GMS anyway
@Ph1lMadiq oh ok! thanks.
@rei thats how much it takes to max it
How come the sword mastery skills for both alpha and beta are left at lv 2?
Zeros can gain exp from the outside world at lvl 120 now (2nd chapter completed)
My Zero is currently level 152 and I went to kill normal mobs in leafre (kentaurus) and my exp bar went up when i killed them. They can also get exp from everything that gives exp like pqs and quests from the maple world
why you leaving the mastery sword skill ???
@ayumilove nahh its okay haha .. how about the skill build i asked you earlier ? about the leaving moon strike , pierce thrust and shadow strike at lvl1 and level the 4 advance skills to lvl20 ?
@techlloveyan: Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Don’t worry though, the skill will be max down the road! And if you enjoy Beta skills, that skill will help alot in reducing enemy’s defenses.
oh my now that i noticed that i already maxex my armor split at lvl130 D:
@ayumilove can i ask something , i was planning to get lvl20 mastery book for the 4 advance skills and level it instead of leveling the moon strike , pierce thrust and shadow strike. do you think that its okay for me to do that ?
@techlloveyan: Thanks for the notice! I made some correction. It should be 1 SP (to unlock it), then add another 15 SP (making it Armor Split Level 16), and later maxed.
@ayumilove why is there another Armor Split in Beta’s skill build #19 ?
@RenAnex: Thanks for the notice! I have re-enabled the comment in this Zero article. Not sure why it auto-close the comment thread. But I thought Zero won’t get any EXP from enemies defeated in Maple World if they are under level 180? Could you please elaborate or is it they can gain EXP from other means such as party quest?
@ayumilove this comment is about zero(I can’t make a comment on the zero page so I’m writing it here). Zero can level outside of the mirror world now before level 180.
Hi Mr. Questions, they do not have 1st-3rd jobs. They start at Level 100 and they have their own system skill, similarly to Evan. But all of the skills are in 1 tab instead of multiple tabs like Evan. Those skills are just locked and will become available upon reaching a certain level and if the skill has met its pre-requisites.
Hi Lee Shao Wei, I’ll be updating Zero in a moment 🙂
The character have been released so can you update for us ?
Holy crap! Isn’t that a little bit OP?
wait does this mean if they start at 100 there is no 1st-3rd jobs? and will they be sticking with the same moves the whole way to 250?
Hi Mr.Bronze, it should be STR (Strength) for Zero since they are Warrior. It would be quite nice to see a dual character from different jobs, such as tag bowman + warrior OR warrior + thief OR pirate + magician. The combination is endless 😀
Soo, I’ve been wondering, what is the Primary Stat for this dual character? For me based on the video it seems like they go for Str, if not then what else.
Hi ThatPerson, thanks for the notice. I’ll add into the list above 🙂
I saw this website saying that Zero can make its own customizable map, you might wanna put that
Ayumilove can i be your Boyfriend ^^ xD
What the f**k ?!!! This is dope !!! Omg I can’t wait !!!!!
WOAH THIS IS TOO COOL!!!! I can’t wait for this update.
wow,the girl character is cute
Hi Kirmist, Zero will be available throughout all MapleStory Version including GMS, MSEA, EMS, TMS, CMS, etc after KMS have launched it after a period of 3-8 months.
Is this kms exclusive?
