Demon Slayer 1st Job Skill Build: Everything maxed.
1. Demon Lash, Grim Scythe (1)
2. Shadow Swiftness (MAX)
3. Demon Lash (MAX)
4. Battle Pact (MAX)
5. HP Boost (MAX)
6. Grim Scythe (MAX)

Explanation:
In my opinion, training on monsters that only takes 1-2 hits is faster with Demon Slash compared to Grim Scythe. Therefore, I max Grim Scythe last. By the time you reach near level 30, you can use Grim Scythe against mini bosses like Slime King in Kerning Party Quest. However for training efficiency, get Shadow Swiftness to move around map quickly to reach monster/town. Next boost Demon Slash damage followed by Battle Pact (increases your slashing speed considerably). These 2 alone levels you up faster than Grim Scythe, unless you can find a spot crowded with monster, use Grim Scythe instead.

Demon Slayer 2nd Job Skill Build: Everything maxed except Soul Eater.
1. Barbed Slash, Soul Eater, Dark Thrust (1)
2. Weapon Mastery (MAX)
3. Outrage (MAX)
4. Physical Training (MAX)
5. Soul Eater (18/20)
6. Vengeance (MAX)
7. Dark Thrust (MAX)
8. Chaos Lock (MAX)

Explanation:
Barbed Slash only requires 1 SP to max to gain great bonus damage, so max that first! Soul Eater and Dark Thrust are basically weak if the base damage is low. Therefore, add 1 SP first into these 2 primary attacking skills for 2nd job, then max Outrage, Physical Training and Weapon Mastery. Once that is done, cap Soul Eater to Level 18. Reason being, there is insufficient SP to max all skills and Soul Eater will be replaced by a more powerful 3rd/4th job skill for bossing and training. The 2 SP will be added into Dark Thrust since it can be used in future levels (3rd and 4th jobs) You will be bumping into monsters especially with Dark Thrust, so max Vengeance to save some health. Chaos Lock isn’t use often since its more effective to clear map with Dark Thrust in a cycle.

Demon Slayer 3rd Job Skill Build: Everything maxed except Vortex of Doom.
1. Demon Arch Lash (MAX)
2. Carrion Breath (1)
3. Fury (MAX)
4. Focused Fury (MAX)
5. Carrion Breath (MAX)
6. Insult to Injury (MAX)
7. Possessed Aegis (MAX)
8. Black-Hearted Strength (MAX)
9. Raven Storm (MAX)
10. Judgement (MAX)
11. Vortex of Doom (18/20)

Explanation:
You will be using Soul Eater (Demon Slayer 2nd Job Skill) for 3rd Job Training area until you get your Carrion Breath and Insult to Injury. Therefore, to spam Soul Eater often, maxed Max Fury and Focused Fury. Do not max other offensive 3rd Job Skills yet since it consumes way too much Fury at once against cluster of weak monsters.

Upon maxing those skills above, maxed Carrion Breath and Insult to Injury to deal more damage against tougher high health monsters. It is not recommended to use Judgement for training as it uses lots of Fury and deals less damage. Killing monsters instantly with Fury skills using little Fury allows you to spam these skills often and level up faster with effective Fury training.

Monsters also do high damage, so you will need to protect yourself from getting hurt. Proceed with maxing Possessed Aegis and Black Hearted Strength. Personally, I don’t use Judgment and Vorex of Doom much since Dark Thrust is easier to pack monsters into a can of sardines and poison them to death with Carrion Breath. In short, these skills can be upgraded later.

Max Raven Storm to save some health potions. Less health potions consumed means less visits to the clinic/pharmacy to purchase potions. Once all the essential skills above are maxed, you can max other skills in any order.

Additional Information

Demon Slayer Storyline

Demon Slayer was one of Black Mage’s loyal generals but was betrayed by his fellow generals and Black Mage. He fought against his former comrades and Black Mage himself but was defeated and sealed away. He awakens in present by breaking the seal which had weakened over a century. Demon Slayer find himself considerably weak due to Black Wings draining his power for their own benefits. He was then rescued by one of the Resistance members. The Resistance member briefed him about Black Wings organization and Black Mage who was still alive. Demon Slayer decides to join the Resistance in hopes to meet Black Mage to exact his revenge.

Demon Slayer Notes

  • The Demon Slayer is only occasionally available to create. When this is available, he will either be an option on the normal class selection menu, or there will be a special menu you can open from the character select screen.
  • Following the required part of her tutorial, the Demon Slayer is already level 10 with his first job advancement complete.
  • There will be a quest for each job advancement in the quest notifier (light bulb) on the left side of your game window when you reach a level when you can do a job advancement.
  • The Demon Slayer needs to have a one-handed blunt weapon or one-handed axe equipped in order to perform most of his skills.
  • The Demon Slayer has a unique shield called a Demon Aegis. It grows more powerful as he goes through job advancements, and it grants him more points of Dark Force.
  • Dark Force doesn’t function completely like MP. You must attack enemies using certain skills in order to drain energy from them to recover your DF.
  • The Demon Slayer uses a combo system that is a bit different from Aran’s. After learning Demon Lash, the key for your regular attack must be tapped multiple times in succession to perform the combos.
  • The moniker “Demon Slayer” comes from him being a slayer who is part demon.
  • Each Demon Slayer character has its own Cash Inventory, not shared with other characters.
  • Although we might refer to the Demon Slayer with masculine pronouns outside of the game, you will have the option to play as a female version of the Demon Slayer in the game.

  1. Lagging

Demon Cry is no longer spammable (14 second cd), thus Infernal Concussion is the new mobbing skill. However, the skill build does NOT reflect this change.

  2. Joe

    Hi there,

Does Demon Lash Boost affect Demon Awakening as well?? Since Demon Awakening is an improved version of demon lash.

  3. Teo

Demon slayer hyper skills which one to add and hyper stats which one to add pls tell me in details tq~cause im stuck for here in a very long time d~

  4. Tsurugi

    Pro:

One of the very few classes who can wreak havoc on enemies/bosses under the effects of Damage Reflect — as long as you set up your Hyper Skills and time your Dark Metamorphosis usage right.

  5. Patrick

“Jormungand” is called “Spirit of Rage” in GMS

  6. WhatAreDucks

Fourth job skill maxing priority should be updated. Demon cry won’t be a demon slayer’s primary attack for any stage of the game, not even early on. Since it has a 14 second cooldown, (7 seconds with boundless rage) and you can no longer spam it, it’s not used for a primary mobbing ability, just from the sheer cooldown alone.

  7. Hafiz

Hello, can anyone tell me if demon cry +drop rate works on all the enemies on the map or just the monsters hit by the skill? Im confused because each time i use demon cry, there is a buff icon at the right corner of my screen. Pls help me clarify this, thanks in advance.

  8. Ayumilove Post author

@Feints: I believe that buff duration has no effects on Hyper Skills and 5th Job Skills.

  9. Feints

Is demon awakening effected by buff duration?

  10. Ty Duncan

Could you post a picture of your Keyboard and macros? I haven’t played in 3 or so years and wanted to get back into it :). I’ve got a lvl 181 Demon Slayer on Khaini so hopefully you read this! Thank you either way.

  11. Ayumilove Post author

@MechaX: Thanks for your feedback! I’ll be adding Demon Cry to the Mastery Book list!

  12. MechaX

For the mastery book section, Demon Cry also needs a 30 Mastery Book.

  13. Felicity

I was wondering if Demon Slayer’s fifth job, Demon Awakening, would take priority over a cash shop item cape.

  14. Alviss

Do u guys have any tips to how to use the auto attack of 5th job effective?…
It rly ez to be delayed… So the dpm will drop easily too :<
    Please help… 🙁

  15. Jason

    For MSEA

Creation for Demon is only a button and u proceed with the storyline, you can choose to go Slayer path or Avenger path. It not time-limited creation hence

  16. Zef

As for cons he’s not a real bosser until some levels into 4th, and good bossing only starts from level 150 onwards (super useful hypers start appearing at that stage).

@ choa – bosses by default give 2x fury per orb from demon trash. Slot demon lash – extra fury (50% more fury absorbed) and don’t be afraid to weave in few lashes here and there while blue blooded and you should have some nice cooldown reduction on it already by the time it expires.

Also later on cerberus chomp should provide some extra cooldown reduction without losing much damage for it 🙂

  17. Roy Ling

As a demon slayer main from MSEA,
    Cons:
Unable to rebuff skills like metamorphosis, blueblood or other cool down skills after death in boss

  18. Wuck

@ayumilove can you please explain why you choose to put points in all the demon lash skills rather than demon impact? Just asking because it seems more reasonable to have demon impact for bossing.

  19. Alviss

    Demon Lash – Reinforce
    Required Level: 149
    Increases Demon Lash’s damage.
    Level 1: Damage: +150%

    This mean 2.5 x (100% + 220%) right? :s

    And Dark Metamorphosis – Enhance
When Dark Metamorphosis activates, damage over time and all other attacks will negate Attack Ignore and Attack Reflect effects.
Level 1: When activated, will negate Attack Ignore and Attack Reflect effects for 20% of the duration time. Passive Effect: Damage over time will negate Attack Ignore and Attack Reflect effects.=> this like 20% abnormal stt resist or something?… Didn’t quite understood about it… And u explain it to us D:

  20. Choa

Hi, for the blue blood hyper skill. How do you fully utilise it’s passive effect which is “Cooldown: -3 sec every time 50 Fury is absorbed”. Such that the cool down will be short while bossing?

  21. Trinity

Hi, the blueblood level 150 hyper skill, where it gives shadow partner like ability to demon slayer is removed?

  22. Shoa

    Demon Cry (Active)
Releases your inner demons to intimidate and deal damage to multiple nearby enemies. Enemies will suffer a hit to DEF, ATT, and Accuracy while your EXP and item drop rate increase. Cooldown reduced while in use.
Level 1: HP Cost: 400, Fury Cost: 30, Number of Attacks: 8, Damage: 305%, Max Monsters Hit: 15. Duration: 20 sec, Enemy ATT and DEF: -5%, Accuracy -5%. EXP and Item Drop Rate: +5%. Cooldown: 14 sec, reduced for 7 sec while in use.

soo the cooldown is 7 or 14 im still dont understand this?

  23. Player

Why should we upgrade the three demon slash skills instead of demon impact skills? Is it demon slash more useful than demon impact after 5th job?

  24. Ayumilove Post author

@Rique: Demon Slayer 5th Job skill “Jormungand” will be available in the Beyond patch for GMS and MSEA. For now, it’s not available.

  25. Rique

Unable to find Jormungand in the crafting core of list. Is it only applicable to kms and not sea?

  26. KappaKappa

can anyone explain blue blood? i don’t get how it works now… what does it mean by 90% final damage on attack

  27. Bryan

Why add demon lash when demon impact is important? for hyper skill stat.

  28. PhilipT1490

Is the beyond 5th job skill in a different video?

  29. Philip

Is the beyond 5th job skill in a different video?

  30. Ayumilove Post author

@denver: Demon Impact – Reinforce is replaced with Demon Lash – Reinforce.

  31. Ayumilove Post author

@Kappa: Yeah. I replaced Demon Impact – Reduce Fury with Dark Metamorphosis – Enhance.

  32. denver

why does demon slayer dont need to add (Demon Impact – Reinforce)

  33. denver

why does demon slayer does not need to add hyper skill – Demon Impact – Reinforce?

  34. Kappa

Woudn’t you say Dark Metamorphosis – Enhance is more important then Demon Impact – Extra Strike or Demon Impact – Reduce Fury?

  35. Azazel69

Ty, and it’s good unfunded(demon slayer) .. I know a class can’t be good unfunded but still

  36. Ayumilove Post author

  41. John

I though demon slayers had the feature to lower their cd on blue blood and 5th job skill demon awakening

  42. Ayumilove Post author

@Azazel69: Mercedes have a passive skill that heals her HP and MP continuously in quite a significant amount similar to Pirate skill as long as the skill is not spammed due to enemies not getting defeated in 1-3 hits. Having said that, Mercedes does not consume much potions, saving you in the long run while training. For bossing, I highly recommend to use potions to reduce the risk of dying in battle. On the other hand, I feel that Demon Slayer is much stronger and tankier (more HP and defense) compared to Mercedes.

  43. Ayumilove Post author

@Kappa: Could you let me know the details of the new Demon Slayer Hyper Skills which are changed? This would greatly help speed up in updating the article.

  44. Kappa

DEMON SLAYER HYPER SKILLS/BUILD is both outdated, could you update it?

  45. Azazel69

DEMON slayer or Mercedes ? For unfunded

  46. Tsurugi

    Lalleq:

For Demon Awakening, they must’ve meant Chaos Lock (no escape! haha). And for Axe vs Mace, whichever is fine — for me, I dig whichever has the faster attack speed (if they are from the same set), but usually they’ve got the same.

  47. Lalleq

Which weapon is better for Demon Slayer?
    Axe or Mace?

  48. Lalleq

For the 5th Job Skill Core, Demon Awakening,
” In addition, Demon Slash will be enhanced and you will gain the ability to use Demon Trace while using Demon Slash.”
What’s Demon Trace? Can’t find that skill in the previous job advancements.

  49. PandaSan

Any tips for getting the equips Ds ? im in windia
about to start from fresh lvl 1

  50. Patrick

So what order do we max our 4th job skills?

  51. Ayumilove Post author

@anon: Thanks for your feedback! I’ll be updating the Demon Slayer Hyper Skill section (replacing Carrion Breath Hyper Skill with Demon Lash Hyper Skill) from GMS v.177

  52. anon

    There is new hyper skills

  53. Ayumilove Post author

@AughMint: Sorry for the late reply! I have updated Demon Cry to include cooldown!

  54. Ayumilove Post author

@Elson: Yes, the Black-Hearted Strength skill is now a passive skill! I have updated the skill details. 🙂

  55. Elson

Isn’t the new Black Hearted strength a permanent skill and not temporary ?

  56. Tanraj

    Hi Ayumi
Do you know any good Lvl. 120+ Equipment and weapon, because I’m still rocking my good ol Lvl. 80 armour

  57. AughMint

I could be blind but the demon cry skill doesnt state the cd of the skill

  58. biaobiao

Hi! What’s your opinion on the demon slash hypers?

Especially with the 5th job playstyle involving demon slash, would any of these become crucial?

On that note, do you have an idea how does the 150% damage increase (reinforce) interact with both pre and post 5th job demon slash? ie is it additive/multiplicative etc.

    Thanks as always!

  59. Sacrosanity

Also in GMS Reboot, my DS unlocked the “Dark Metamorphosis – Enhance” on level 180.

  60. Sacrosanity

@Ayumilive: Thanks, I’ll be waiting for them

  61. Ayumilove Post author

@Sacrosanity: Yes, I do have info about 5th job skills on most of the jobs. I’m not sure whether to put it in this article since it might confuse players whether its already available in GMS 🙂

  62. Ayumilove Post author

@Noalm: Thanks for your feedback! I have updated Demon Slayer 2nd Job Skill Build guide based on your input 🙂

  63. Ayumilove Post author

@Luis Ojeda: Use Demon Impact for bossing and Demon Cry for training. Use Demon Thrash to charge up the Fury to be used for Demon Cry.

  64. Luis Ojeda

What move should you use instead of Demon cry for later levels past LV 130? Demon Impact?

  65. Sacrosanity

Just a question, do you have info about the 5th job advancement on DS or other classes?

  66. Noalm

Personally id max dark thrust rather than soul eater because dark thrust will also work as a dash skill for future levels while, you will only use soul eater for 2nd job, maybe 3rd job, but that’s it.

  67. Bunny

Hi ayumi, MapleSEA just released hyper stats not long ago. Is there a hyper stat build for ds too?

  68. Ayumilove Post author

@yichor: It really depends on the class/job that gets you excited and motivated to play in MapleStory. You’ll need to pose this question to self.

  69. yichor

Hi ayumi, demon slayer or mihile if i fund my both class with same funding

  70. Ayumilove Post author

@Zippy: Max in 4th job means max till Level 30. Sometimes, for unfunded players who have insufficient meso to purchase expensive mastery books can opt for maxing the other skills rather than maxing 1 single skill first to help with their training speed, but it’s best to max 1 skill at a time.

  71. Zippy

Hi ayumi, in 4th job skill build. Does your max out means to buy mastery book and max till 30? So for leech aura, max out means lvl 30 or 9?

  72. yichor

demon slayer strong? because demon cry nerf but have better damage now

  73. Ayumilove Post author

@demon: Hi, I’ll be updating this Demon Slayer guide soon.

  74. Chompi

Please update 4th job skills for post demon cry nerf.

  75. Epsilon

@xxjoexx that depends on your current level. If you can 1 to 2 hits KO mobs in your level range then you’re doing great, if it takes you 3 to 5 hits then that’s average. By the way I say “hits” but i refer to how many times you used a skill.

@demon here, I got this from the update notes of reboot in GMS.

    1st Job
    Battle Pact: Cast delay reduced.

    2nd Job
Chaos Lock: Fury cost increased from 10 to 20, Cast delay recuded.

    Vengeance: Cast delay reduced.

Outrage: At Master Level: ATT increased from +40 to +50.
    3rd Job
Raven Storm: At Master Level: Cooldown increased from 5 sec to 10 sec.

    Black-Hearted Strength: Cast delay reduced.

Focused Fury: At Master Level: Damage increased from 25% to 40%.

    4th Job
Infernal Concussion: At Master Level: Fury cost decreased from 25 to 15.

    Demon Impact: Cast delay reduced.

Demon Cry: At Master Level: Damage increased from 270% to 450%, Number of attacks
increased from 6 to 8, Duration increased from 15 sec to 20 sec, Cooldown increased from 0 sec to 14 sec, Cooldown reduced to 7 sec while Boundless Rage is active.

Boundless Rage: At Master Level: Duration decreased from 60 sec to 50 sec, Cooldown increased from 180 sec to 200 sec, Cast delay reduced.

Leech Aura: At Master Level: Max HP recovery decreased from 50% to 25%, Effect cooldown reduced from 15 sec to 5 sec.

Barricade Mastery: At Master Level: Attack Power increased from +30 to +50.

    Ultimate
    Cerberus Chomp: Attack range reduced.

For Liberty: Fury cost decreased from 50 to 10.

    @taki
Well basically you use all buffs when grinding and bossing except when bosses use reflect, that’s when I remove Dark Metamorphosis. As for combo I usually semi-spam Demon Cry(since the skill got nerfed) then finish with Demon Impact or Infernal Concussion(depends on how many) when grinding. Then on bossing I reserve Binding Darkness and Boundless Rage for when I’m sure I’ll be able to finish off the boss, I do this to prevent the boss from casting any buffs or debuffs, however this combo changes when I can’t kill the boss fast that’s when I use the two anytime I can.

  76. demon

    can someone update this guide?

  77. taki

Can someone show me the setting use guys use for all your skills and what buffs to put on. Alsoo the combo you generally use. im level 117

  78. Noalm

Lol sorry i can’t help you there, quitted my demon slayer for some time. there is a streamer named explosive volatile where he mains demon slayer, he might help you

  79. xxjoexx

thx noalm for your guide but how can i increase my damage range

    i using demon slayer
now my damage range is 40k∽46k did this range good or average or low?

  80. Noalm

@xxjoexx They say that demon avengers are boring because all you have to do is spam one skill and use exceed when low hp, while demon slayers have a variety of skills, however demon slayers are harder to fund. sorry for the late response, haven’t been in this page for a while

  81. xxjoexx

i m sry comment at wrong place but i wan know the new reboot 2015 at kms will coming to msea? and many jobs skill change and a thing is reboot world is kind of server but i did not really know everythings about reboot world . last thing is you this reboot will be better or worth?

  82. xxjoexx

why dont up max demon cry

  83. Ayumilove Post author

@xxjoexx: They are roughly the same with Demon Slayer have easier way to maintain stable damage since its not affected by health drained which occurs in Demon Avenger.

  84. xxjoexx

so why they say demon avenger boring and i want to create a new class should i play what class(i was a new player in msea)

  85. Noalm

@xxjoexx i dont think there is any class “better” than other (except for mihile, jett). Both are great classes in my opinion. if you are a new player, i suggest demon avenger because it doesn’t consumes pots (it doesn’t use mana and you can regain health with exceed). demon slayer have more variety of skills while demon avengers focus on spamming 1 or 2 skills for mobbing. demon slayers must continuously hit enemies with basic attack until you reach certain level. so you can decide with this facts, i have a demon slayer so i know more about them

  86. xxjoexx

is demon slayer better than demon avenger?

  87. Willo

I thought demon impa t did 40% more damage to bosses, not 30?

  88. Lulul

Why not max infernal concussion first instead of demon cry? It’s way better as I can spam use it while demon cry has this sort of cooldown effect

  89. Mestitia

Umm, there is a slight error in the 3th Job Skill Build. The #3 should be “Max Fury”, not “Fury”. It’s not much, but still an error none the less.

    Nice guide, btw!

  90. Sean

My DS is level 120 but my status resistance is only 14%, I have 2 links skill ( 1 lvl 100, 1 lvl 120) from Cygnus knight and the character card of DS used but is still low. Is it normal for me to have so low and how can I raise the status resistance. 🙁

  91. Pwnage

Btw in MSEA DS’ 4th Job skill ‘Demon Cry’ is nerfed; it has a debuff where for every reuse of the skill within a 15 second timespan of the previous one, an extra DF cost of +30 DF is applied, meaning that it is not a useful training skill anymore.

  92. Parousiah

    @Cathy Johnson

What 150 armor are referring to? Pensalir Set is the only one I know, you can get them easily by farming it from DIPQ.

  93. Parousiah

    @Cathy Johnson

The only 150 equips I know is Pensalir for armor set and Utgard for weapon, you can get this easily by farming DIPQ.

I do not recommend it as an end game equip though because there’s Empress and CRA set.

  94. Cathy Johnson

I have a question but 1st thank you I need to know how to get 150 armor is there a quest for it ?

  95. Lucas

Regarding 3rd Job: I maxed Raven Storm quite early – before Carrion Breath and Focused Fury (got that one to half-done first). 1 skill point in Carrion Breath and my maxed Soul Eater (2nd Job skill) were enough to one-shot most things in the Mushroom Kingdom line. Raven Storm was effectively the same as chugging an Elixir every 5 seconds, and I found I always had the Fury to use it unless I made the mistake of leaving Carrion Breath to run for too long.

Also, some monsters are resistant to Carrion Breath, notably the Tauros and Jr Balrog in Sleepywood’s end dungeon. Every hit does 1 damage to them. The startup time for Carrion Breath is a bit slow, too. Takes some getting used to.

  96. DeathSlayer

Hey, you can mastery book Demon Cry to Level 30! I did it, therefore you should correct that portion. Thanks

  97. Ayumilove Post author

@Tess: use Potential Cube to enhance your equipment. Most senior player purchased their final equipment at Level 150 and starred it with Star Force and Potential it until they get an average of 700% or higher primary stat. Example, if I’m a warrior, I would have my equipment boost my STR (Strength) stat or weapon attack. 700% STR is similar to having 7 Rebirths (7 clones of you). Having a high weapon attack also boost damage significantly.

  98. Tess

I have a demon slayer thats lvl 144 and i feel like my DMG is really low. My attack range with starred/scrolled equipment is 20k-22k. Do you have any suggestions to raise my attack range? I don’t have any fancy equips either.

Also, for a demon slayer, what the best method for Dimensional Invasion? I mainly use Demon impact but i feel like bc my DMG is low i can’t kill monsters fast enough.. i haven’t been able to complete DI yet..

    Thanks for the help!

  99. Ayumilove Post author

@Cathy Johnson: Follow the MapleStory Training in-build guide in Maple. It will allow you to level up quickly and easily teleports you to the training spot. If your MapleStory has Star Force patch, do upgrade your weapons once you reach Level 20 and perform it the 2nd time once you reach Level 100. The third time would be once you reach Level 150. For alternative training spots, check this guide out http://ayumilove.net/best-maplestory-training-spots-guide-v6/

  100. Jason

In 2nd Job, you say to max Chaos Lock and leave Dark Thrust at 18/20. However your explanation sounds like Dark Thrust is more useful and should be maxed instead of Chaos Lock, which you don’t mention at all. I don’t think maxing one or the other is a big deal, but I’ve read elsewhere that Dark Thrust would be the smarter choice. Do you have a reasoning why you MAX Chaos Lock over Dark Thrust?

  101. Cathy Johnson

Thank u for this advice I came back to maple all my things was stolen off my warrior so I made a new one. Things have really changed on maple. I appreciate the advise..

  102. DemonSlayer

Hi ayumilove, can you tell me if final damage against boss 30% its like 30 % damage when attacking?.

  103. Saito

Hi, Ayumi chan I just don’t know what to do when im in level 32 T^T pls help!

  104. Ahroysi

Hi, demon cry max level is 20.. not 30..

  105. Ayumilove Post author

@Desoir: Thanks for your feedback! I’ll update the skill description!

  106. Desoir

    Hi Ayumi,
For the part where you wrote “– Does not have Flash Jump (Horizontal
Jump). Use Dark Winds to glide in air.”
I think there is some mistake..
Other than gliding and vertical jump, Demon Slayer also have a horizontal jump skill. it is when you jump once and press → → or ← ← ya. Correct me if I’m wrong.
    Thanks

  107. swagyolo9001

infernal concussion only costs 25fury and should be maxed first

  108. Vienar

Further explanation for the 4th job please? All I see is going mad on Demon Cry, but why Infernal Concussion last? Why obsidian skin so late when many Demon Slayers have Attack-Based Clothes with low Weapon Def? Monsters hit me 2000 with buffs and they are my level. I would ask for an explanation. Please. (No reply required for this.)

  109. Vinicius2210

Ayumi, I know I’m asking this in the wrong place, but what about Night Walker’s 4th job skill Vitality Siphon ? you don’t mention when we should max it in your guide.
and could you I don’t why but the comments section on the Night Walker’s page is closed, that’s why I’m asking this here.
Awesome job with the guides by the way, up to date and as awesome as ever ! Since I found your site I haven’t used other guides.
    Thanks.

@Dslayer: You can pick any but you have a limit of 5 skill points for Hyper Skills specifically for Demon Slayer.

  111. Dslayer

I mean can max all or just choose one

  112. Dslayer

@Ayumilive: I want to ask that the hyper skills are we can max or like reinforce and reduce fury or just choose one

  113. rushar

Leach Aura’s cooldown has been removed. I use boundless rage and I can spam it on ropes.

  114. Fake Email lol

Hello I picked up an evil bane. 🙂

  115. Ayumilove Post author

@KuroyukiRyu: It’s easy to tell whether your damage is good or average. If you can 1 hit KO the monster which is same or higher than your level, is great. If it takes 2-3 hits, its good, more than 3 hits means your damage is average.

  116. Guidar

@KuroyukiRyu: Hm, dont waste scrolls or spell traces on lvl 60 stuff for one, and also, that’s ok for no buffs or buffs. Also I would like to know what scrolls you used?

  117. KuroyukiRyu

I started a DS yesterday and now I’m level 67.
Is ~8K good enough for my Demon Lash?
I’m using the level 60 scepter (completely upgraded) and also the 60 warrior set (not upgraded) and the Tot’s Cape (completely upgraded.)

Also, was 15 mil a good sell for a cubic blade?

  118. er

So, I am not funded DS. However, in my opinion, it ‘has” horizontal jump (Chaos Lock works with monsters over there, dark thrust pushes you forward) and the damage lvl 113 is about 50k with demon impact without buffs, with buffs hits about 89K. (I dont upgrade properly XD)

  119. Ayumilove Post author

@Michele: I’m not sure about the evading 1/1 100% success rate though. If it does hit you, the “Obsidian Skin” passive skill will prevent the 1/1 skill from reducing your HP down to 1 HP. You can avoid it by casting any skill (skills with i-frame) that makes you invincible temporarily for 1 second when the boss casts 1/1 skill and such skills I can think of is Eunwol’s Backstep, Shadower’s Boomerang Step and Phantom’s Twister skill. Also take note for BaM users (Battle Mage) to not use Blue Aura skill as you will die instantly from that boss 1/1 skill. The safest way to counter this is using Auto-Pot Pet skill from Cash Shop and set it to use Power Elixirs or Elixirs that recovers about 70-100% HP and MP (this is the route I used for most of my boss raids) regardless the job I’m in.

  120. Ayumilove Post author

@Guidar23: Thanks for your feedback! I have added Demon Impact 1 SP into the 4th job guide. Regarding the Demon Cry, are you referring that you maxed it first before Barricade Mastery?

  121. Michele

Hello Ayumi. I have a question regarding demon slayer. Is there any skill of demon slayer can avoid 1/1 hit by chaos zakum. Because I never faced any 1/1 problem last time until recently the chaos zakum is able to 1/1 me. Any specific reason? I didnt have the link skills with me is that what it is causing it?

Opps. 3 comments came out at once. =.= sorry for spamming. I tot it wasnt posted >.<

  122. Guidar23

I would like to share my skill guide:

Demon cry can be used for evo system link 3. Max it. However, DS’s dps is very low, so add 1 to demon impact meanwhile. Rest same as 4th job.

  123. Ayumilove Post author

@Slayer: When you fund any characters, the damage will be significantly improved depending on how much funds you have invested in it. For instance, I spent like 100 premium potential cubes on my Demon Slayer equipments and its damage increases by 2-3 folds with all the buff skills up. This can be taken further by enhancing, hammering, etc and also wearing the same equipment set. Sometimes, if you over-fund a character, it feels kinda boring when all the monsters are 1-hit-KO and boss monsters seems too easy and not challenging anymore based on my experience after hitting damage cap.

  124. Slayer

So how about eqs, DS need to be funded?
I am now a not funded DS, and my damage for demon impact was 130k-150k, the level currently is 137

  125. Vince

    Hi Good day,

I think the hyperskill demon impact- reinforce and demon impact – reduce fury required level is interchanged?? Thanks..

    Reinforce should be lvl 195
reduce fury should be lvl 155

    Thanks 🙂

Hello i’m new player to maplestory i played once and i dont know why but leave the game. Now i started today and opened demon slayer my only question is am i going to give full str? or should i give other stats too.

  127. Ayumilove Post author

@Galleigo: The Fury-type skills such as Carrion Breath and Soul Eater has HP Consumption mentioned below the skill description. In my personal experience training a Demon Slayer and Demon Avenger, I have not once get killed accidentally by my own skills except for some experiments which done intentionally to discover the limitations of each Demon job skills. For Carrion Breath, I tap the skill button like pulsing the food processor because the damage is done very quickly similar to Bow Mastery Hurricane. Once you have figured out the number of times it takes for a particular skill to reduce your HP below 50% and also considering the approximate damage you will take during training, then consume a HP potion to recover the lost HP 🙂 Regarding the high HP thing, yeah, I mistaken this Demon Slayer as Demon Avenger 😀

  128. Ignus3342

You put max storm of raven in the 3rd job explanation instead of raven storm correct it

  129. Galleigo

Hello I was reading your replies… You said “Always need to mantain high hp for high damage” Isn’t this more like refering to Demon Avenger? Sure, we use a bit of HP to use skills on DS, but DA is pure hp as mp, (Getting killed by my own skills right now grinding triple rumos at level 81) so plz correct? Also add the HP costs for the skills my DS is getting what I said in the bracket. I’m just spamming Carrion Breath and Soul Eater (To attract enemies and also quickly kill them with Carrion Breath because it spams). It kills me really fast though so a few times I actually died from using Carrion Breath. Rurumo wasn’t reaching me at all, and I have 24% guard rate (Possessed Aegis) so I just DIED and respawned and used another reindeer milk. So please add HP costs, or else on potion hater triple rumos I have to use Attack and Grim Scythe ONLY.

  130. Ayumilove Post author

@Galleigo010: Thanks for the comment! I have reworded the statement. If you have any other suggestions, feel free to post here. 🙂

  131. Galleigo010

@Ayumilove: Please improve the english at the start of page (top) this part: Demon Slayer is one of MapleStory Resistance Warrior born with unique abilities and traits. They are demon warrior who specializes in Scepters and wields Shield that accumulates Fury. Fury is similar to MP (Magic Points) but its replenished through attack and siphoned from dead enemies, not from potions! Demon Slayer primary stat is STR (strength)”. “Demon slayer primary stat is strength” Annoying

  132. Ayumilove Post author

@Galleigo: For training purposes, 2nd Job Demon Slayer would be spamming Dark Thrust + Regular attack. I personally use both Dark Thrust and Soul Eater. Cluster enemies into a can of sardines using Dark Thrust and active Soul Eater right when the number of monsters in front of me is roughly 6-8 depending on the map. If Demon Fury runs short, then spam regular attacks. For bossing, spam regular attack or spam Soul Eater to utilize the Demon Fury. If Soul Eater deals more damage per second compared to regular attack, its fine to spam it on boss. You can apply Chaos Lock when you attempt to evade a boss attack, and quickly return to its location to attack again.

  133. Ayumilove Post author

@sadlas: I have added the Pros and Cons that I could recall when playing my Demon Slayer. For other Demon Slayers who wish to chip in, post a comment here so I can add them above 🙂

  134. Galleigo

Hello, what should be my primary attacking skill for lvl 49 demon slayer? I’m currently maxing out Soul Eater accidentally maxed vengeance :/ So what do I use for crowded areas, and what do I use for Boss-type areas?

  135. sadlas

    Dear Ayumilove

i was going to make a DS but i wanted to know the Pros And Cons that will fit my way of playing but sadly you didn’t add it… would you please add it?

  136. Ayumilove Post author

@Jax: It depends on your play style and experience with the skill. Does your enemies get killed within 1-2 hits? If yes, the stun does not play much role in here. Maxing Judgement allows you to deal much more damage with 1 skill casting with multiple hits (2 hits more compared to Vortex of Doom, as well as with additional critical success rate to boost the maximum damage). If you find yourself hitting enemies build like a tank, then Vortex of Doom would work its stun magic here! But higher level mobs would have this mini-boss status which makes them immune to these negative effects and one of it is the stun.

  137. Ayumilove Post author

@So Funny: Thanks for your feedback. The Demon Impact Skill has been updated to GMS v.152 – Mark of Honor : Hieizan Temple Updates (2014-08-11).

  138. So Funny

I thought Demon Impact now at max level is 420% damage

  139. Jax

Instead of maxing judgement would it be better to max vortex of doom because of it’s stun chance

  140. Ayumilove Post author

Updated Demon Slayer skills (Demon Cry, Demon Impact) with GMS v.149 patch.

  141. Ayumilove Post author

@Electrixcity: Demon Slayer skill details have been updated 🙂

  142. Ayumilove Post author

@Bryan: I have not encountered that issue with the Maple Hacks when spamming a particular skill. But I have not tried it on Zakum yet, only regular mobs. Mabye Nexon had implemented some security measures for boss areas only,

  143. Ayumilove Post author

@Darkstar: Sorry for the late reply. I have added Level 1,2,3 Link Skill details 🙂

  144. Ayumilove Post author

@Jadfihf The Merc: Thanks for your feedback. I’ll perform the necessary corrections 🙂

  145. Jadfihf The Merc

Demon Impact is only 10 DF and hits 4 enemies for 6 attacks each not 30 DF and 3 enemies for 5 attacks. Dark Metamorphosis does 250% dmg now. Binding Darkness only does 700% and the DOT deals only 140%. And Demon Thrash makes final dmg only 220% now.

  146. Electrixcity

Demon Impact is only 10 DF and hits 4 enemies for 6 attacks each not 30 DF and 3 enemies for 5 attacks

  147. Bryan

Ayumi, how do I stop spamming cause everytime I go zakum, it says that it found some hacks so I ask maple and they said I was spamming so my demon impact is the strongest so I keep using it. Please reply thank you.

  148. aran888888

The link skill is Fury Unleashed: deal 10%/15%/20% increased damage to bosses.

  149. Darkstar

what is demon slayer link skill?

  150. Ayumilove Post author

Hi Reayldon, which skills are changed in Demon Slayer?

  151. Reayldon

Ayumi, your skill guide has to be updated once more because there are some changes on the skills

Hi soh, Raven Storm is a 3rd job skill that recovers health for Demon Slayer.

  153. soh

is there a skill to recover hp for demon slayer?

  154. Ayumilove Post author

Hi soh, once your badly wounded, you will need to consume HP potions. This is very unlikely for Demon Avenger.

  155. soh

do we have to keep using hp potions for demon slayer?

  156. soh

    link skills?

  157. Ayumilove Post author

Hi soh, Demon Slayer is worth leveling till Level 120 for its Link Skills 🙂 It’s quite fun to play since you have to keep switching skills instead of spamming 1. Plus, you are able to jump high, leap high and glide in air 😉

  158. soh

    is demon slayer worth leveling?

  159. Mitch

Hello. What skill do I use for grinding mobs? For example, dimension invasion.demon cry is awesome but let’s face it, the damage isn’t enough. What skill is good for such grinding maps?

  160. Ayumilove Post author

Hi dvdemon, its for both party member and Demon Slayer. Tested on my account.

  161. dvdemon

The leech aura is just for party member, demon slayer can heal himself?

  162. dvdemon

Hero’s will is for what job?

  163. Ayumilove Post author

Hi Jedadaya, the damage values for Demon Impact isn’t updated, but mostly all the skills are present. The damage you are seeing is before Demon Impact was nerfed. Now its 330% after nerf (lost 70% damage) 🙁

  164. Jedadaya

I believe Demon Impact deals 330% on max lv. Is this guide updated?

  165. drakon23drag

and theres a demon avenger so yeah

  166. drakon23drag

didnt they changed the cap or max dmg to 50m now?

  167. Ayumilove Post author

Hi josh, thanks for the notice. I’ll just remove that note 🙂

  168. josh

Hey ayumi, isn’t demon slayer job advancements 30,60,100 now? XD
I think it is for GMS anyways since I’m doing the build and I’ll have it exactly matched at lvl 60

  169. Ayumilove Post author

Hi XJ, damage is high, higher against some of MapleStory Legends such as Mercedes. The damage done is much more stable compared to Demon Avenger as they do not require to maintain high HP to deal constant high damage.

  170. XJ

hi Ayumi, i wan ask if demon slayer dmg high a not?

  171. emoThinker

Sorry for the late reply Ayumi, I was kind’a caught in something for sometime. Anyways, I have seen Orange mushroom’s DS update and for metamorphosis, they had added a cooldown on it. Boundless rage’s cooldown was decreased. I am curorently trying to find back the page where I saw these changes but I am having trouble finding it. So I apologize if I am causing confusion… T.T

  172. Ayumilove Post author

Thanks Seris for spotting the mistake! I have corrected the name from Demon Avenger to Demon Slayer.

  173. Seris

Hey ayumi at the end of the 4th job explanation you put demon avenger instead of slayer. just thought i’m going to let you know C:

  174. Ayumilove Post author

Hi KaiserNub, just spend all your SP into Hyper Skills on the moment you have access to them. Apply SP to those which is relevant to your job.

  175. Ayumilove Post author

Thanks randomboy for the correction! I’ll be updating Demon Cry Fury Cost from 60 to 30.

  176. KaiserNub

Can you make a guide on their hyper skills, like what you recommend we add and when we get those skill points?

  177. randomboy

    isnt demon cry’s fury cost 30? i think u made a mistake

  178. Isaac

    Ok thx

  179. Ayumilove Post author

Hi Issac, use 4th job skill Demon Impact for boss. Before using that as your primary attacking skill, casts Binding Darkness followed by Demon Cry. This helps in reducing enemy defense and accuracy (avoid their hits better). Replenish the Demon Cry every 15 second so each arm will reward you better EXP rate.

  180. Isaac

Hi ayumi, when fighting zak, what skills do u reccomand that I kill the arms with?

  181. Tsurugi

Maybe emoThinker was referring to the Demon Slayer’s post-Unlimited skills’ data, now seen on services which have Unlimited (KMS, MSEA, EMS), and will soon be seen on services getting Spark (GMS, JMS, CMS, TMS).

That aside, the DS’s tactical power makes him one of the best, if not the best bosser. And I believe he’s the best all-rounder.

  182. Ayumilove Post author

Hi emoThinker, which part of the guide needs updating?

  183. emoThinker

Hey Ayumi, again loving your guide… xD But the Demon Slayer requires a bit of updating. Just a bit of a heads up for you. Thank you for the awesome guides!!!

  184. Isaac

Hi ayumi, I have a demon slayer at 4th job. I went to buy barricade mastery 20 but everytime I use it, it fails. It failed 6 times already and I have don’t have much money left. What do I do?

  185. Daniel aoki

Ermm, hi ayumi is ds get to lvl70 they will give a mastery book right?

  186. Ayumilove Post author

Hi Derek Chan, maybe GMS will unlock Demon Slayer when its holiday season or during the end of year or when they have some cool event.

  187. Derek Chan

Hi there ayumi! I would like to ask when will there be the next release of Demon Slayer for maple story USA? 🙂 it seems very appealing to me based on your comments! Im also plan to fund my Demon Slayer for Godly items! Any advise for funded Demon Slayers? 🙂 Im currently full abyss sets but its still under cubing!

  188. Ayumilove Post author

You’re most welcome lilazndorkiee. Thanks for stopping by to leave a comment 🙂

  189. Ayumilove Post author

Hi DemonKidzz, Demon Avenger is slightly stronger than Demon Slayer when both are given the same equipment stats.

  190. DemonKidzz

Is demon slayer or demon avenger much more stronger

  191. lilazndorkiee

Thanks for the quick reply ^-^. Your guides are great :3

  192. Ayumilove Post author

Hi lilazndorkiee, I deal the same damage around as you but at level 150 Demon Slayer since I’m using normal equips with only the weapon is potential 🙂 After playing MapleStory for such a long time, I realized that once you obtain highest damage, the game feel boring and less entertaining. So at the end, I just equip with regular weapon and equip. I kinda regret that I burned 100+ miracle cubes just to get a godly potentialed item, which is not really worth it! If you still wish to continue this path of destruction, I have a safer way for you 🙂 Check this guide out: http://ayumilove.net/best-maplestory-methods-to-increase-damage-guide/ which does not cost you real money.

  193. lilazndorkiee

Hi Ayumi, I recently started playing maplestory and have been following your guide for Demon Slayer, right now I’m level 132 and grinding at LHC (if thats what its called) and a lot of people have commented saying my damage is pretty low, i do 20-35k to crocky the gatekeeper. Do you think that’s low, I am new and “unfunded”, do you have any ideas for ways that I could improve my damage :D? Thanks ^-^

  194. Czin

So, I was wondering if you were ever going to make a guide that helps newer players on gearing up and such? Im at level 110 with my DS and my damage range is depressing compared to the other people at my level.

  195. Ayumilove Post author

Hi Demonzen, Demon Slayer is stronger than Zen because Demon Slayer is actually a commander from the past, therefore, MapleStory Developers had made it such it is much stronger from the start, similarly to Kaiser which is stronger than a Dragon Knight 😀 It depends on the storyline on where they originate from. You can see another example where both Phantom Thief and Adventurer Thief are from the same class, but Phantom Thief have a nice history background fighting along with the Legendary Heroes. Therefore, it would be good to bump up his abilities abit to make him a little more unique and powerful than ordinary Explorer-Adventurer Thief.

  196. Demonzen

Is demon slayer or zen stronger?

  197. Ayumilove Post author

Thanks Sabrina for the correction! I have updated the Black-Hearted max level.

  198. Sabrina

    Hi Ayumi,
Just a small correction. Black-hearted strength in 3rd job has a maximum level of 10, not 20. Thanks.

  199. Zero Series

    Hi Ayumi!

Speculating that the equivalent of GMS’s Champions update (Legends’ return) might be on on March 13 — if MSEA has its way of copy-pasta (ehem) matching GMS’s patch history. Resistance revamp (aka Rise Against update in GMS) is what followed.

Yeah, by the way, have come across good Hyper Skill builds for this one-demon/man army yet? 🙂 Would like to see a good one from you, although I may mix and match, as well. Cheers!

Hi Jett Tan, MapleSEA (Asiasoft) is still lagging quite far compared to the rest of the other MapleStory Servers (Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Global, Europe) where all of these already have Tempest Update but not available to MapleSEA. Having said that, the Demon Slayer release will be delayed for at least 3-6 months after Global receives it (since its the main that does the Korean translation). I guess MapleSEA would be combining multiple patches and releasing it in 1 big patch file (with revamps + new jobs). There are rumour stating that Asiasoft would only release new content when there are little MapleSEA player playing, a means to attract back customers/players. EDIT: I think Demon Slayer is already available in MapleSEA around 2012, unless they have locked it (made no more available for a period of time)

  201. jett tan

when will demon slayer release again in maplestory malaysia???

  202. Yee

    now i saw it. thanks
    need many sb…

  203. Ayumilove Post author

Hi Yee, all skills in 4th Job that has max level of 20 and 30.

  204. Yee

Hi ayumi. May i know 4th job which skill need mastery lvl 20 and 30? Thanks alot

  205. Joel

Also,is there any Fury-Increasing equipment aside from the shields?

  206. Joel

    When was this last updated?

  207. Deity

Is Demon Slayer still available in the USA?

  208. Ayumilove Post author

    Hi Night,
It depends on your preference. If you don’t use that many active skills at once and only spam your primary attacking skills, it would be nice to have Leech Aura to heal yourself while attacking 🙂

  209. Night

Should Leech Aura not be maxed now since they’ve weaken the skill?

  210. Ayumilove Post author

Hi Ikrae, Baricade Mastery does not only raise your minimum damage, but it also improves weapon attack, which in return boost all attacking skills. Demon Cry is not spammable unless you have constant supply of Fury which makes training a little difficult in maps with low mobs. I agree about the 20% EXP boost, it helps a lot in training. You can max both parallel or one at a time.

Regarding the Binding Darkness, it has a passive ability to allow your attacks (any skills) to ignore a portion of enemy’s defense, its a nice bonus.

  211. lkraie

a question, does Binding Darkness’s passive of Ignore enemy def apply to all skills or only itself?

  212. lkraie

Just my 2 dollars worth, shouldn’t 1 level of Metamorphosis be added early? 6% dmg and hp for a minute should be pretty decent for some bossing. Also, Demon cry should be maxed 1st instead of barricade. I find that at lower levels ( 120 to 130 ) the mastery doesn’t really boost the training speed significantly, the 20% exp boost does make a better difference I believe.
