Pirate is one of MapleStory Adventurer Jobs which has 2 professions you can choose in 2nd Job Advancement : Corsair (uses guns) and Buccaneer (uses knuckles). Both professions equip the same armor. Primary stat is DEX (Dexterity) and secondary stat is STR (Strength). You can become a Pirate by requesting Kyrin for guidance. She is the Pirate Job Instructor located in Nautilus Harbor. Pirates are blessed with outstanding dexterity and power, utilizing their guns for long-range attacks while using their power on melee combat situations. Gunslingers use elemental-based bullets for added damage, while Infighters transform to a different being for maximum effect.

Pirate 1st Job Skills
Permanently increases Accuracy, Maximum Speed, and Jump
LV1: +22 Accuracy, +2% Speed, +1% Jump.
LV10: +220 Accuracy, +20% Speed, +10% Jump.
Attack 6 enemies within vicinity with a devastating somersault kick.
LV1: 8 MP, 229% Damage.
LV20: 16 MP, 305% Damage.
Double Shot (Active)
Attack 1 enemy 2 times with a gun.
LV1: 4 MP, 127% Damage.
LV20: 7 MP, 165% Damage.
Dash (Active + Supportive)
Temporarily boost Speed and Jump while receiving 100% anti-knockback if enemy hits you during your dash. Activate Dash by pressing arrow key (left/right) twice. Using Corkscrew Blow or Triple Fire during Dash increases its damage by double!
LV1: 9 MP, +5 Speed, +2 Jump, Lasts 4 sec.
LV10: 0 MP, +50 Speed, +20 Jump, Lasts 20 sec.
Shadow Heart (Passive)
Permanently increases critical hit rate and minimum critical damage.
LV1: +2% Critical Hit Rate, +1% Critical Minimum Damage.
LV10: +20% Critical Hit Rate, +10% Critical Minimum Damage.
Pirate Skill Build: Everything maxed except Somersault Kick.
1. Max Double Shot, Dash, Bullet Time and Shadow Heart.
2. Dump remaining SP into Somersault Kick.
You can switch to either Somersault Kick or Double Shot but its recommended to go for max Double Shot. Reason being, Pirate’s health is considerably low and if you train on high level monsters that has high EXP reward, their bump damage is severe and can easily kill you in 3-4 hits. Therefore, to be on safe side of not dying and losing EXP plus train conveniently without having to be close to monsters to attack, use Double Shot for any professions you will be taking for Pirate 2nd Job Advancement! If you plan to use Somersault Kick in the beginning, equip a polearm/spear instead of gun/knuckle to increase the skill attacking range!
Pirate 2nd Job Skills
Permanently increases Strength and Dexterity.
LV1: +3 Strength, +3 Dexterity.
LV10: +30 Strength, +30 Dexterity.
Gun Mastery (Passive)
Permanently increases gun mastery, accuracy and maximum bullets that can be carried.
LV1: +14% Gun Mastery, +12 Accuracy, +20 Bullet Capacity.
LV10: +50% Gun Mastery, +120 Accuracy, +200 Bullet Capacity.
Gun Booster (Supportive)
[REQUIRE] LV5 Gun Mastery.
Temporarily doubles gun attack speed.

Triple Fire (Active)
Attack 1 enemy 3 times.
LV1: 10 MP, 124% Damage.

Rapid Blast (Supportive)
Attack 4 enemies 3 times with bullets shot at incredible speed.
LV1: 8 MP, 93% Damage.
LV20: 20 MP, 131% Damage.
Recoil Shot (Active)
[REQUIRE] LV5 Wings
Retreat by using the powerful gun recoil while attacking 1 enemy simultaneously.
LV1: 12 MP, 186% Damage.
LV20: 24 MP, 300% Damage.
Press and hold JUMP key after performing a jump to descend slowly in mid air. Use arrow keys during that period to glide in air forward or backward. You can also attack during descend. Release JUMP key to fall instantly. MP Consumption decreases as the skill level increases.
LV1: 26 MP.
LV5: 10 MP.
Infinity Blast (Active + Supportive)
Temporarily use no bullets/ammo by spending a set of bullets upfront. This saves a lots of bullets/ammo when you are constantly shooting at multiple monsters at a safe strategic position.
LV1: 12 MP, Spend 180 Bullets, Lasts 116 sec.
LV5: 20 MP, Spend 100 Bullets, Lasts 180 sec.
Gunslinger Skill Build: Everything maxed except Recoil Shot.
1. Add 1 SP into Rapid Blast.
2. Add 5 SP into Gun Mastery and then 3 SP into Gun Booster.
3. Max Gun Mastery, Physical Training and Rapid Blast.
4. Max Infinity Blast, Gun Booster, Wings and Triple Fire.
5. Dump remaining SP into Recoil Shot.
Rapid Blast will be your primary attacking skill as a Gunslinger (Pirate 2nd Job) for leveling up. Max Gun Mastery, Physical Training and Rapid Blast to boost your skill’s damage. Max Triple Fire to unlock Rapid Fire (4th Job Skill) but max it last as its not efficient for training purposes.
Knuckle Mastery (Passive)
Permanently increases knuckle mastery and accuracy.
LV1: 14% Knuckle Mastery, +12 Accuracy.
LV10: 50% Knuckle Mastery, +120 Accuracy.
Knuckle Booster (Supportive)
[REQUIRE] LV5 Knuckle Mastery.
Temporarily doubles knuckle attack speed.

Corkscrew Blow (Active)
Attack 6 enemies while rushing forward to knock-back them into clusters.

Attack 6 enemies with a powerful tornado uppercut.

Dark Clarity (Supportive)
Temporarily increases weapon attack and accuracy.

Brawler Skill Build: Everything maxed except Corkscrew Blow.
1. Add 1 SP into Corkscrew Blow and Tornado Uppercut.
2. Add 5 SP into Knuckle Mastery and 3 SP into Knuckle Booster.
3. Max Knuckle Mastery, Dark Clarity, Physical Training and Perseverance.

Roll of the Dice (Supportive)
Roll a die to get a random buff. Roll a 1, and you get nothing.
LV1: -40 MP, Buff Lasts 66 sec, Cooldown 480 sec.
LV20: -60 MP, Buff Lasts 180 sec, Cooldown 180 sec.
Outlaw’s Code (Passive)
Permanently increase physical magical defense and MaxHP MaxMP.
LV1: +2% Defense, +30 MaxHP MaxMP.
LV20: +30% Defense, +600 MaxHP MaxMP.
All Aboard (Supportive)
Summons 1 of 3 crew member to temporarily attack nearby monsters. Each member provides supportive buff during their presence (Murat/Muirhat – increases critical damage by 10%, Valerie – increases critical chance by 10%, Jack – increase HP and MP by 20% and increase speed by 20%), the summons do 310%, 300%, and 240% damage respectively.
LV1: -25 MP, Lasts 63 sec. Cooldown 87 sec.
LV20: -25 MP, Lasts 120 sec. Cooldown 30 sec.
Cross Cut Blast (Supportive)
Create magical bullets and store them in inventory.
LV1: -20 MP, +11 Weapon ATT, 510 Bullets.
LV20: -35 MP, +30 Weapon ATT, 700 Bullets.
Blackboot Bill (Active)
Attack and knock-back 6 enemies with the help of a summoned blackboot bill.
LV1: -23 MP, 658% Damage.
LV20: -35 MP, 734% Damage.
Attack 6 enemies 2 times with buckshot. Consumes 2 bullets per shot.
LV1: -20 MP, 355% Damage.
LV20: -32 MP, 450% Damage.
Fullmetal Jacket (Passive)
Permanently increase critical rate and ignore a portion of enemy defense.
LV1: +11% Critical Hit Rate, 1% Defense Ignored.
LV20: +30% Critical Hit Rate, 20% Defense Ignored.
Summons a giant octopus to temporarily attack nearby enemies.
LV1: -10 MP, 83% Damage, Cooldown 29 sec. Lasts 20 sec.
LV20: -19 MP, 140% Damage, Cooldown 10 sec. Lasts 30 sec.
Outlaw Skill Build: Everything maxed except Blackboot Bill.
1. Add 1 SP into Blunderbuster, Blackboot Bill and All Aboard.
2. Max Cross Cut Blast, Blunderbuster and Roll of the Dice.
3. Max Outlaw’s Code, Fullmetal Jacket, All Aboard and Octo Cannon.
4. Dump remaining SP into Blackboot Bill.
Unlock main primary skills (Blunderbuster and Blackboot Bill) first so you can knockback monsters too close to avoid getting unnecessary physical damage and use Blunderbuster to finish them off. You can max either Blackboot Bill or Octo Cannon depending on your preference. Octo Cannon is kinda useful when you position it at a platform which is hard to reach/travel but the downside is you will need to summon it again after 30 seconds, a little of hassle for some aid.
Stun Mastery (Passive)
Permanently increases stun rate and critical hit rate against stunned enemies.
LV1: Critical Rate when attacking stunned enemies: +24%, Stun Rate: 11%
LV10: Critical Rate when attacking stunned enemies: +60%, Stun Rate: 20%
Energy Charge (Passive + Supportive)
Every attack you inflict on an enemy charges some energy in your reservoir. Once it fills up, you will temporarily gain some buff that increases your accuracy, weapon attack, physical-magical defense, speed, enable stance effect (anti-knock-back on yourself) and make Energy Blast accessible. You will charge twice as fast when attacking bosses.
LV1: +15 Accuracy, +1 Weapon ATT, +15 Defense, +12% Speed, +52% Knockback Resistance, Lasts 22 sec.
LV20: +300 Accuracy, +30 Weapon ATT, +300 Defense, +50% Speed, +90% Knockback Resistance, Lasts 60 sec.
Energy Blast (Active)
[REQUIRE] LV1 Energy Charge.
Attack 6 enemies 2 times with powerful blast that stuns enemies.
LV1: 343% Damage, 31% Stun Rate, Stun Lasts 5 sec.
LV20: 400% Damage, 50% Stun Rate, Stun Lasts 7 sec.
Admiral’s Wings (Supportive)
Temporarily decrease damage taken from enemies.
LV1: MP Cost: 18, Damage Received: -11%, Duration: 72
LV10: MP Cost: 30, Damage Received: -20%, Duration: 180
Spiral Assault (Active)
Attack 6 enemies 2 times with a golden spiral rush that knockback enemies similarly to Corkscrew Blow. Executing Corkscrew Blow, Spiral Assault negates the skill delay in Corkscrew Blow.
LV1: -22 MP, 268% Damage.
LV20: -34 MP, 325% Damage.
Precision Strikes (Passive)
Permanently increases critical rate and critical damage. Grants additional critical rate and critical damage against bosses.
LV1: Critical Rate: +6%, Critical Damage: +4%, Additional Critical Rate on Bosses: 2%
LV10: Critical Rate: +15%, Critical Damage: +10%, Additional Critical Rate on Bosses: 20%
Landlubber Blast (Active)
Attack 6 enemies with a shockwave.
LV1: -18 MP, 655% Damage.
LV20: -28 MP, 750% Damage.
Marauder Skill Build: Everything maxed except Landlubber Blast.
1. Add 1 SP into Landlubber Blast, Spiral Assault, Stun Mastery.
2. Add 1 SP Energy Charge, Energy Blast and Admiral’s Wings.
3. Max Energy Charge, Spiral Assault and Energy Blast.
4. Max Precision Strikes, Stun Mastery, Roll of the Dice and Admiral’s Wings.
5. Dump remaining SP into Landlubber Blast.
Pirate 4th Job Skills
Pirate’s Revenge (Passive + Supportive)
Has a chance to temporarily increase damage upon being hit. Upon successfully triggering counter attack, this skill will cooldown for 50 seconds before it could be trigger again.
LV1: 4% chance to +6% Damage for 18 sec.
LV10: 40% chance to +15% Damage for 45 sec.
Double Down (Supportive)
[REQUIRE] Max Roll of the Dice.
Roll 2 dice and if both have same number, you receive a powerful buff! Cooldown 200 sec for all levels.
LV1: -60 MP, 10% chance of rolling 2 dice, Buff Lasts 184 sec.
LV5: -60 MP, 50% chance of rolling 2 dice, Buff Lasts 200 sec.
Nautilus Strike (Active)
Summons Nautilus battleship to bombard 15 enemies 3 times around you.
LV1: -350 MP, 404% Damage, 60 sec cooldown.
LV30: -350 MP, 520% Damage, 30 sec cooldown.
Maple Warrior (Supportive)
Temporarily boost all stats by percentage.
LV1: -10 MP, +1% All Stats, Lasts 30 sec.
LV30: -70 MP, +15% All Stats, Lasts 900 sec.
Hero’s Will (Active)
Removes all status effects such as Cursed/Seduce.
LV1: -30 MP, Cooldown 600 sec.
LV5: -30 MP, Cooldown 360 sec.
Rapid Fire (Active)
[REQUIRE] Max Triple Fire.
Attacks an enemy with streams of bullet. Hold down the skill key to constantly fire bullets.
LV1: -6 MP, 243% Damage per shot.
LV30: -9 MP, 330% Damage per shot.
Brain Scrambler (Active)
Instantly kills an enemy with one shot. Enemies who are immune to instant death will receive epic critical damage 4 times that ignores a portion of their defenses.
LV1: -10 MP, 510% Damage, 11% Defense Ignored. 10 sec cooldown.
LV30: -10 MP, 800% Damage, 40% Defense Ignored. 5 sec cooldown.
Jolly Roger (Supportive)
Temporarily boost attack damage, abnormal status resistance and elemental resistance at the cost of lowering avoidability. Higher level increases the chance of triggering Stance Effect (preventing monster from knock-backing you when receiving damage).
LV1: -45 MP, +1% Attack, +21% Resistance and Stance, -15 Avoid, Lasts 66 sec.
LV30: -55 MP, +10% Attack, +40% Resistance and Stance, -300 Avoid, Lasts 180 sec.
Parrotargetting (Active + Supportive)
Target lock a specific enemy. All succeeding attacks will only affect it and not enemies closest to you. Target will receive extra damage from other attacks thrown by you.
LV1: -25 MP, 458% Damage, +1% Bonus Damage.
LV20: -37 MP, 610% Damage, +20% Bonus Damage.
Eight-Legs Easton (Active)
Attack 6 enemies 4 times by summoning the dread pirate Eight-Legs Easton, a giant, trigger-happy octopus that fires a hefty barrage of bullets.
LV1: -25 MP, 474% Damage.
LV30: -55 MP, 590% Damage.
Ahoy Mateys (Passive)
[REQUIRE] Max All Aboard.
Permanently increases all your crew member supportive abilities potential and their damage. Also increases your Weapon ATT.
LV1: +1% Damage for Crew Member, +3 Weapon ATT, Murat (+1% Critical Damage), Valerie (+1% Critical Rate), Jack (+2% Speed and MaxHP MaxMP)

Majestic Presence (Passive)

Permanently increases gun mastery and enhances each bullet shot to deal explosive damage!

LV30: 70% Gun Mastery, 70% Explosive Damage.

1. Add 1 SP into Eight-Legs Easton, Rapid Fire and Brain Scrambler.

The first 2 steps of the skill build is for training, the rest is up to your gameplay whether you want to do bossing early (kill boss for greater profit and experience with party member or solo training). You can max both Eight-Legs Easton and Rapid Fire parallel since Rapid Fire has a longer flexible range but targets 1 whereas Eight-Legs Easton can kill mobs close.
Dragon Strike (Active)
Attack 6 enemies 2 times with a summoned Dragon Soul.
LV1: -23 MP, 584% Damage.
LV30: -43 MP, 700% Damage.
Buccaneer Blast (Active + Passive)
Attack 8 enemies 4 times with a golden laser blast. Can only be used while Energy Charge is active. Permanently increases amount of energy charged per attack.
LV1: 405% Damage, +42 Energy.
LV30: 550% Damage, +100 Energy.
Crossbones (Supportive + Passive)
[REQUIRE] Max Knuckle Mastery.
Temporarily increase Attack, Abnormal Status and Elemental Resistance. Also permanently improves Knuckle Mastery.
LV1: 56% Mastery. -30 MP, +1% Attack, +1% Resistance. Lasts 180 sec.
LV30: 70% Mastery. -45 MP, +15% Attack, +30% Resistance. Lasts 180 sec.
Attack 1 enemy 8 times in quick succession while the victim remained stun until attack is completed.
LV1: -20 MP, 192% Damage.
LV30: -30 MP, 250% Damage.
Time Leap (Active)
Resets all skills cooldown except for Time Leap itself.
LV1: -465 MP, Cooldown 45 minutes.
LV5: -205 MP, Cooldown 25 minutes.
Speed Infusion (Supportive)
[REQUIRE] Max Knuckle Booster.
Temporarily increases all weapon attack speed. Stacks with Weapon Booster.
LV1: -78 HP and MP, Lasts 110 sec.
LV20: -40 HP and MP, Lasts 300 sec.
Typhoon Crush (Passive)
Has a chance to completely ignore enemy defense when attacking them.
LV1: 2% chance to ignore 100% enemy defense.
LV20: 40% chance to ignore 100% enemy defense.
Buccaneer Skill Build: Everything maxed.
1. Add 1 SP into Dragon Strike, Buccaneer Blast and Octopunch.
2. Add 1 SP into Speed Infusion and Nautilus Strike.
3. Max Double Down, Crossbones and Pirate’s Revenge.
4. Max Buccaneer Blast, Typhoon Crush, Dragon Strike and Maple Warrior.
5. Max Octopunch, Nautilus Strike, Speed Infusion, Hero’s Will and Time Leap.
Buccaneer Blast will be your primary attacking skill in 4th Job instead of Dragon Strike because Buccaneer tends to charge up pretty quickly in less than 20 seconds and then you get to enjoy a super laser attack that hits multiple mobs. Add 1 SP to access active attacking skills. Finally, start maxing Double Down (to gain double effect from Roll of the Dice), Buccaneer Blast (best mobbing skill when charged), Typhoon Crush (ignores enemy defense) and Dragon Strike (use this while charging up for Buccaneer Blast) after maxing all the damage enhancer skills. Octopunch isn’t good for training since there is a long delay to finish an enemy, its best used for bossing.

Epic Adventure (Level 200) A buff that gives the legendary Adventurers of the Maple World 10% increased damage and the ability to pass the damage cap by 50,000 for 60 seconds. There is a cooldown of 120 seconds.
Buccaneer Hyper Skills
Spiral Assault – Reinforce (Level 143) +20% damage.
Spiral Assault– Extra Target (Level 162) Attack +2 enemy.
Spiral Assault– Bonus Attack (Level 183) Attack enemy +1 time.
Octopunch – Reinforce (Level 149) +20% damage.
Octopunch – Boss Killer (Level 168) +20% damage vs boss.
Octopunch – Bonus Attack (Level 189) Attack enemy +1 time.
Buccaneer Blast – Reinforce (Level 155) +20% damage.
Buccaneer Blast – Extra Target (Level 177) Attack +2 enemy.
Buccaneer Blast – Bonus Attack (Level 195) Attack enemy +1 time.
Stimulate (Level 150) Your Energy bar stays full and your damage is increased by 20% for 120 seconds. There is a cooldown of 240 seconds. Passive effect – 20% boss damage.
Unity of Power (Level 170) Attack 8 enemies 5 times with 800% damage. For 90 seconds, your maximum damage is increased by 50,000. This effect stacks up to 3 times. Can only be used when your Energy bar is full and it consumes it. There is a cooldown of 8 seconds. The maximum damage for this skill is 9,999,999.
