MapleStory Dual Blade Skill Build Guide

A Dual Blade abbreviation (DB) is a Maplestory job that is in the Thief Explorer/Adventurer class. Its main stat is LUK. This is a limited class meaning that it will only be available for creation once in a while or during events. As a part of the covert organization located in the Secret Garden hidden in Kerning City, the Dual Blades have their own agendas put them at odds with regular Explorer Thieves. Dual Blades move in a flash across battlefield while wielding two weapons: a dagger in one hand and a katara in the other. Dual Blade Storyline

Dual Blader, The Instrument of Revenge! A grave misunderstanding which has put out the flames of love, Lady Syl seeks revenge against the Dark Lord for a crime he did not commit. Now, as her plans are coming to fruition, together with her force of Dual Bladers, the final confrontation against the Dark Lord is near! The title Dark Lord is known by many, yet only whispered by few, for just the words alone invokes a dark and terrifying image… But, unknown to many, the Dark Lord isn’t one of evil nature, but rather, like many other heroes in Maple, his purpose in life is to stop the ever present evil that threatens the very existence of the world. Sadly, The path of a Dark Lord is a lonely one. Always observing Maple from his dark abode, the Dark Lord keeps an eye on evil, waiting for the right moment to strike before disappearing once against into the shadows.

Former Dark Lord: The Former Dark Lord was a great man, and like all Dark Lords before him, he had always placed the world of Maple before himself. During his time as a Dark Lord, he had groomed two promising students to one day succeed him, a young man called Jin and his very own daughter Lady Syl. Jin and Lady Syl were both excellent students, not only in skill, but in heart as well. The Dark Lord was happy to have them as students, and cherished them dearly. As they trained and worked together, a romance formed between them, and it grew as they continued to work together. One fateful day, an urgent notice came from Tristan, a good friend of the Dark Lord. The extremely dangerous and evil Balrog has been resurrected, and has started to destroy Victoria Island. Knowing that time is of the essence, he headed off to Victoria Island immediately after receiving the notice, strictly forbidding his loved students from following him. Upon reaching Sleepywood in Victoria Island, he could not find his friend Tristan. Not one to wasting time, he left to track down Balrog immediately. Eventually he found and confronted Balrog alone.

The fight was one to be seen, as two equally powerful opponents confronted each other in mortal combat. Balrog was a dangerous opponent, his physical prowess rivaled by few, and has the forces of evil to back him up. As the fight continued, the Dark Lord started to grow weary, and with just a split-second lapse in concentration, the Balrog’s evil slipped pass his defences and wrecked his soul, destroying it and transforming his body into a monster.

The Dark Lord, now an empty shell of what he once was, has been transformed into a monster which he has dedicated his life to destroying! Unknown to the Dark Lord however, Jin had disobeyed his orders and was secretly following him, and had seen everything. He confronted the Dark Lord, the one figure in his life which is almost like a father to him, trying to reason to the now mindless monster to remember what it once was. Alas, all his attempts were in vain, and knowing what he had to do, he reluctantly attacked the monster that still had the face of his beloved mentor, and defeated it.

Her Heart Grows Cold… Carrying the body back with him with tears streaming down his eyes, he buried his Master’s corpse in honor and took up the role of Dark Lord. But Balrog’s destruction did not just stop at the Dark Lord. Upon knowing about her father’s death, Lady Syl was devastated. Her mind and soul was shattered, she started to blame Jin for not protecting her father. In time, her anguished mind ran wild, and she started to believe that Jin engineered her father’s death to take up the position of Dark Lord. Jin tried to convince her otherwise, knowing and trying to explain that he would have sacrificed everything he had to protect the Dark Lord, but it was in vain. Lady Syl’s heart was already cold, and her mind made up. Jin has caused her father’s death and she would take revenge on him. Before leaving, Jin tried to reason with her once more, begging her to remember the love they once shared, and her father’s honor and greatness. However, it fell on death ears, her only reply was that Jin would suffer a fate equal to that of her father in pain and anguish when the time comes……

The Plan Has Been Set In Motion! Jin the Dark Lord knows that the time of confrontation would be soon, but he does not yet know exactly when or from where. In the mean time, a man going by the name of Rayden in the back alley of Kerning City is approaching travellers, making an interesting offer. And at the Secret Garden, Lady Syl gathers her forces of elite Dual Bladers as she tends to the garden, her heart still filled with bitterness and rage against the Dark Lord. But, in the darkness of her heart, a tiny ember of the blazing love she once had for the Jin remains. Would it be extinguished completely, or would it grow once again, before it is too late?

10. Phantom Blow (MAX)
11. Sudden Raid (MAX)
12. Hero’s Will (MAX)

Explanation:
Congratulations on reaching 4th Job Advancement! Dual Blade 4th Job Primary attacking skill will be mostly Blade Fury for training and Phantom Blow for boss raiding. Add 1 SP (Skill Point) into Blade Fury, Sharpness and Katara Mastery for their initial stat boost benefits. Get at least Level 10 Thorns as this will help in providing some anti-knockback while being crowded in mobs of monsters. Now, max Blade Fury to unlock more monster targets. Proceed with maxing Toxic Venom to provide additional overtime damage, great against high health monsters. Next, increase your critical rate and damage with Sharpness, followed by improving minimum damage with Katara Expert. I would recommend maxing Thorns after Katara Expert to provide full-proof anti-knockback, very useful when you do not want to lose your position at platform while bossing/training. You can max either Maple Warrior or Final Cut whichever suits you to improve your overall damage. If you plan to boss early, you can max Phantom Blow first before Mirrored Target. Sudden Raid and Hero’s Will is maxed last as they are not used often due to their cooldown limitation.

@doge: Thanks for your feedback! I have updated Dual Blade 4th Job Skills (Phantom Blow 240% damage) and (Blade Fury 200% damage).

@Meow: I have updated Dual Blade 3rd Job SKill “Chains of Hell” to include the cooldown. The cooldown will be still there but at a reduced rate with each level reducing 1 second cooldown.

  3. doge

Prior to Black Heaven update, Phantom Blow and Blade Fury’s % increment has been raised, to 240% and 200% respectively, so that’s required to be updated :]

  4. Meow

For the skill chains of hell in third job, it has like a cooldown now. I haven’t maxed it yet but will the cooldown be gone since it is considered a bossing skill?

Did you buy the training book to raise your Slash Storm level?

  6. aFlyingLlama

I had 45 SP for II, I could only max Booster, Training, and Slash storm. I left Karma at 10 and left Fatal at 0. Then for II+ I had 65 points. I maxed everything with 10 left over points.. what is this??

  7. X9sasuke9Xi

So I noticed that the hyper skills section for dual bladers and the dual blade segment for hyper skills are different. I was wondering about the dual blade segment for hyper skills. Does hyper strength increase a dual blade’s attack range? Thank you for your time.

  8. True Blade

    @PaPaGrimly
    Oh, thanks

I didn’t know that every class maxed by 140 now
I did say I just came back, so I didn’t know of such a thing existed now
Also, thanks for telling me for the hyper skills
    ^.^

  9. PapaGrimly

@True Blade: Every class, bar a couple strange ones like Evan, max all their fourth job skills by level 140.

The Hyper skill build list is just where you should put your points by the time you are at level 200, the order is just whatever unlocks first. You can put points in the three trees at the same time.

  10. True Blade

Oh, forgot to say, from GMS.

  11. True Blade

    Hey,

I just came back to Maplestory, and found my Dual Blade, level 157, could max all skills, is this normal?
Also, I have 4 hyper skill points to use, two in the general passive tree, and one in the active and one in the skill passive tree. The Dual Blade Hyper Skill Build you have there says to put five points in the skill passive tree first before putting a skill point in the active skill tree. Is that the order you suggest to put points in or just the recommended list from the best to worst type thing?

    Thank you

  12. SoloGMSPlayer

Missing explanation for 2nd Job advancement…

  13. Tokyo

@tofu You need 4 db skill books that cost 100k each, 8 lv20 books and 7 lv 30 books.

  14. tofu

Hi all. I’ll like to know whether do I still need to spend @cash to buy all the skill book for DB?

  15. Ayumilove Post author

@Awefinale: The mastery books can be purchased from the NPC in Dual Blade HQ for GMS too.

  16. Ayumilove Post author

@James: I believe you are playing MSEA (MapleStory South East Asia) or a region that has not launch Shinning Patch updates yet which contains Dual Blade Skill Revamp (Thorns Max Level 30 -> Max Level 20). Kindly refer to V1 Dual Blade Guide at http://ayumilove.net/maplestory-dual-blade-skill-build-guide-v1/ . This version 2 is for GMS and MapleStory region that has the new skill updates Shinning Patch and above!

  17. james

thorns still max lvl 30 lol

  18. Flak3

Hey @Ayumilove, haven’t they fixed the SP bug yet? Because I’m at lvl 45 right now, and there is no way to max my Slash Storm skill… Then, at the third job I won’t be able to use the Bloody Storm skill :(
    How to deal with that?

  19. 2cool4uBruh

GMS also haves them for a while now.

  20. Awefinale

    Guys,
Mastery books exclusively for Dual Blades can be purchase in the potion shop from the Dual Blade HQ. It costs 1000000 mesos for one book.
This is for SEA servers, for the others i’m not sure about them.

  21. Tengteng

Is cash shop The only way to get some of the DB skill books is MSEA?

  22. BlazyyPanda

I’m playing Dual Blade in MSEA and I also didnt get any SP at lvl 60 :

  23. PapaGrimly

Having seen my brother level a Dual Blade recently, I can confirm that you do not receive any bonus SP for the level 60 job advancement in GMS either.

  24. ralf

i’ve change job lvl60 but didnt get any SP???
    on MSEA.FORNAX..
its my 1st time playing DB..
    :(

  25. Vesteen

i have 4 extra sp in my blade acolyte tab that cannot be used in msea. is this a bug ?

  26. Ding

where can i take dual blade mirror image mastery book?

  27. RisingBlade

    @Ayumilove

    From 4th job description
Dual Blade 4th Job Skill Build: Everything maxed.
    1. Blade Fury, Sharpness, ”Katara Mastery (1)”

Q: Katara mastery @ forth job refer to Katara Expert (Passive)??

  28. Ayumilove Post author

@Suikoden: Perhaps MapleSEA has not fixed the issue with the SP (Skill Points) Distribution when Blade Master advances its job. This same issue has been clouding my Zen too. My Zen is not able to add any 4th Job SP even though its above Level 100 and the SP still goes into 3rd Job.

  29. Suikoden

Hi @Ayumilove, how am I able to max out Slash Storm and Fatal Blow. My Dual Blade at SEA is level 54, however whenever I level the SP goes to Blade Specialist which I already maxed every skills, and I do not have any SP under Blade Acolyte and also unable to use the SP from Blade Specialist to do so. Any idea?

    Thanks!

  30. Jack

@NecroStar120, it wouldn’t be called max if you need masterybooks.

  31. Ayumilove Post author

@NecroStar120: Max refers to as maxing it out completely with mastery books. However, if you do not have sufficient mesos to purchase the mastery books, you can distribute your points to other skills first or you can save them up if you are close to purchase one.

  32. NecroStar120

Hey @Ayumilove when it says to max a skill out does it mean to max it out completely with mastery books included or without the mastery books? Thanks!

  33. Roger

HOW TO DO HIEIZAN TEMPLE AT LEVEL 140!? princess nou just instant kill me. wtf?

  34. iBladerSky12

Thanks Ayumi. I’ll probably go for Maple Warrior first after all, since I’ll be training more at the Evolution System. I’ve got another question, does Final Cut helps in training at mobs? Or is only used for bosses?

  35. iBladerSky12

Thanks Ayumilove. I’ve got another question, does Final Cut help in mobbing? Or it’s actually only useful in boss fights?

  36. Ayumilove Post author

@iBladerSky12: Not really. Maple Warrior boost your overall damage for regular skills and skills that consumes MP, whereas Phantom Blow is specialized in hitting 1 target with massive damage. If you find it convenient to eliminate bosses quickly with Phantom Blow for fast EXP, then it can be use to compensate for slow training at mobs.

  37. iBladerSky12

If I max phantom blow before maple warrior, would it affect my training at mobs badly? Because I plan to go mu long dojo and zakum every day too.

  38. Ayumilove Post author

@Zeeko: It should be very smooth similarly to Mercedes combination attacks. Have you buffed yourself with Weapon Booster? Does equipping with a weapon with faster attack help reduce the delay/lag when chaining skills? Sometimes you do not need to wait for a skill to complete its animation. Once you trigger the first skill, just try to spam click the 2nd skill for it to activate smoothly. It works for me though.

  39. Zeeko

Heyyyy, I have a dual blade currently and after turning level 45, i realised that I can’t actually do the combos well? I mean there is at least a 2 second delay whenever i wanna use flying assaulter and tornado spin.. is there a bug or am i pressing the buttons wrongly? :/

  40. sarutsu

Hey Ayumi, to reach level 45 was unable to increase the Slash Storm skill. What do I do?

  41. Kuramasa

You need the normal mastery books 20 to increase skills to max of 20, and then mastery book 30’s to increase cap to 30

  42. Canofbeans

I mean is it 20 or 30 for Blade Fury and Phantom Blow?

  43. Canofbeans

I mean like Mastery Book 20 or 30 for blade fury and phantom blow

  44. Canofbeans

Ayumi, what are the mastery books for dual blade 4th job? Also, this is an awesome guide.

  45. Adam

I don’t know what books I need for 4th job skills.. Like taking Blade Fury past level 10. Are they each a different book for the 4th job and where do I get these ones. I bought the regular book from Kerning secret garden thinking it would be the same. :( Only been playing a week so I’m still trying to figure so much out. Thanks in advance for the help.

  46. Leonardo

hey there! am playing DB now and I can’t seem to find the mastery books for him :(
Some ppl said to go to secret garden but there’s none there also I can’t activate the 20 skill book that I bought. Some help?

    Thanks in advance

  47. Ayumilove Post author

@BickBickDig: Previously, MapleStory does not keep track on the amount of SP you will gain based on your levels. Now, they have corrected it so that even if you level up above the Job Advancement Level (e.g. above level 30/60/100), you will get those extra SP earned from those levels.

  48. WikiJay

@BickBickDig: Ur good. I just went to lvl 40 in Mr. Lee’s airline maps without doing my 2nd job advancement. all of my sp was there after I did my advancement.

  49. BickBickDig

    Hey Ayumi,
I was wondering if in the current version of Dual Blades, whether the 3rd job advancement at Level 60 comes with SP like the previous job. Stupid me went to level 70 before advancing in the job, now I’m not sure if I missed out in any of the SP. Wondering whether I need to restart if I missed out on any extra SP.

  50. Alucard

    Hey! :D
Been following your skill guide and now I’m around lvl 90 and I’ve yet to be able to max out slash storm and and I’m free for skillpoints in the jobb skill tree (bought the skill mastery books from cash shop), do you get skillpoints you can use where ever later inn game, or have I messed up badly?
    I’m playing on Eu Maplestory…
    Thanks in advance :)

  51. Souleaterfan

Amazing guide! Do you have any suggested for where to go or what to do to level up from 130+? Thanks!

  52. Ayumilove Post author

@DonQuixotex: For GMS + after RED patch, Dual Blades’ pre-4th job skills that require Mastery Books can be obtained through the Dual Blade Training Book, which can be purchased from NPC Taeha in the Secret Garden Basement.

  53. DonQuixotex

Hai Ayuumi. Uhm… I’m not sure where to get mastery book for slash storm and mirror image since we can’t buy it in the cash shop anymore. I’m not sure what to do.

  54. Ayumilove Post author

@Edward: They are a combination of both. What level is your Dual Blade and the skill you are using to perform 5k damage?

  55. Edward

    Hello, Ayumi.
Is it good for a Dual Blade to do good damage or be a fast attacker? This question has struggled me to stop playing my Dual Blade awhile as it does about 5k damage each slow hit.

  56. kuro

Hi Ayumi do u know how to get the skill book for slash storm :) ?

  57. Ayumilove Post author

@Raider: See this guide http://ayumilove.net/maplestory-link-skills-guide/ for more info on the recommended links to be linked to your Dual Blade :)

  58. Raiden

May I ask what link skills should I link to my Dual Blade?

  59. James

hi can i ask if dual blade still need to purchase skills from cash shop to unlock them?

  60. Game

    dual blade or shadower?

  61. Ayumilove Post author

@chuaahbu: I think MapleSEA does not have the Dual Blade Revamp yet, therefore it does not have the new Blade Ascension skill.

  62. Ayumilove Post author

@J: Thanks for the note. I have updated Dual Blade Skill Build Guide (1st job and 2nd job skill build).

  63. J

from 1st job to 4th job everything get maxed.
Blade Ascension is given when u have 3rd job.

  64. chuaahbu

hey my dual blade is already 97 and i still got no “Blade Ascension” in my skill list. do i need to have it unlock by doing any special quest or go to any NPC? anyone any ideal?? btw im in maplesea Red currently..

  65. Eclipsan

My bad, just found out Tornado Spin doesn’t need a mastery book but I’m still wondering about the extra 9 points I still got into 1st job.

  66. Ayumilove Post author

Thanks J for your help, I have corrected the job advancement levels.

  67. J

    1st job: level 10
    1st job+: level 20
    2nd job: level 30
    2nd job+: level 45
    3rd job: level 60
    4th job: level 100

  68. Eclipsan

I recently just hit 1st+ job and the 1st job’s skillpoints didn’t transfer?
I still got 9 points left on 1st job and was wondering if I should use the 9 points on
Bandit Slash or not since it shows that the max is 10.
I was also wondering if I should use a mastery book on Tornado Spin since it doesn’t
    specify if I should.

  69. Ayumilove Post author

@TFTWst3a1thyy: Thanks for the note on the SP. Just to confirm, the SP is sufficient to max all skills in all tiers? 1st, 1st+, 2nd, 2nd+, 3rd job?

  70. Ayumilove Post author

@Nero: Are you playing MapleStory SEA? Because Blade Ascension is found in GMS v148 whereas MSEA is currently in V142 (no revamp on Dual Blade yet)

  71. jamochet

@TFTWst3a1thyy . Thank you! I noticed the 4th job skills seem to be a bit off, too.

  72. Nero

why i dint hv Blade Ascension this skill,i alr 3rd job but dint hv this skill why ~~???

  73. TFTWst3a1thyy .

@jamochet the only place the advances are off in this guide is getting the advance at 45 instead of 55. And you can’t save so in-between jobs anymore. But you don’t need to as it gives you enough to Max EVERYTHING

  74. jamochet

Was the SP that was supposed to be saved from Bandit Slash supposed to be used in the 3rd job (Blade Lord)?

  75. jamochet

Also, I love your guides! Keep up the great work!!!

  76. jamochet

I am playing GMS right now and a bit of info seems funky. I got Blade Specialist (the II+ class) at 45 not 55. Also, I don’t seem to have to save SP between the + jobs as they give you a chunk to play with (usually around 10sp or so).

  77. TFTWst3a1thyy .

Err sorry not acension for TB, meant the one with the shark coming up that knocks up. Don’t remember the exact skill name

  78. TFTWst3a1thyy .

@Robert, having both classes I can say that thunder breaker acension + thunder combo is faster just because of breakers having 0 delay when comboed. But on the other hand, dual blades get more attack speed from their weapons then thunder breakers do so I guess it’s really up to has fast you mash that keyboard lol

  79. Robert

Hi, im wondering which one is faster. Blade ascension with flying assaulter or Rising Wave with thunder.

    Dual Blade vs Thunder Breaker

  80. Ayumilove Post author

@Suri: Which MapleStory version are you currently playing? The skill information above (Blade Ascension) is extracted from GMS (Global MapleStory).

  81. Suri

hey ayumi, I couldn’t get blade ascension, and when i upgraded to 3rd job at lv60, there wasnt any skillpoints for my 3rd job skills until i lvled to 61.

  82. Juniar Teoh

hi ayumilove , i want to ask why i can’t get Blade Ascension?

i search lot of place , and still can’t get it.

  83. Allen

So in second job and second job + we get to max everything? a little bit confused with the saved sp here

  84. DualBlade

Can you max out every single skill of DualBlade? Or do you have to save up your sp and not max out some skills?

  85. MapleVetren

Dual Blades Max all skills therefore bandit slash can be maxed it does not share sp between 1st job plus

  86. Ayumilove Post author

@Winston: It shouldn’t be a bug. Have you checked MapleSEA RED Release Notes? It mentions that the Dual Blades’ 2nd~3rd job skills (aka pre-4th job skills) that require mastery books can be obtained through the Dual Blade Training Book. This book is sold by Taeha in Kerning City’s the Secret Garden Basement for 100,000 mesos. http://maple.asiasoftsea.com/updates/view/red_patch_notes/#.U3_dVvmSyao

  87. CG_Peepwood

Hey ayumi, just a quick qn that has really been bothering me. I want to play a thief class and invest time and money in it. But I’m not sure who to play. At first I was convinced with DB, but then with the revamp, NL and Shad looks good too. But reading reviews from other websites, they said that NL are still better than shad. Which leaves me with both NL and DB. And then to make things worst, I heard they are revamping NW, which once again lead me into a dilemma. HELP PLS!!!

  88. Winston

    Hi Ayumilove,

Can ask, why my dual blade 2nd job skill Slash Storm currently only till lvl 5 n said need mastery book to unlock lvl 6? i can’t max til lvl 20 like ur guide. Than my Flying Assaulter also same stuck at lvl 5 and said same thing need mastery book to unlock lvl 6. Is there a bug for the char in maplesea? or where do i get the mastery book? and also my Bandit Slash in 1st job is added 1sp but i still have 9 sp left after i max my 1st job other skills and 1st job+ skills. what shd i do with the remaining 9 sp? need your help for the skills and mastey books to unlock skill lvl….thank you…

  89. Zeynox

Ayumi, you don’t have to save up sp for Blade Recruit so you can max bandit slash

  90. Kevin

Ayumilove is GMS can you max out all the skills

  91. Ayumilove Post author

@Vic: Thanks for the note, I have corrected it :)

  92. Jo

i am playing dual blade on EMS. i dont have the skill blade ascention and Blade fury!! how do i get them?

  93. Vic

for hyper skills you put Hyper Strength instead of Hyper Luck

  94. Ossyria

Following this guide where it says save for future levels or jobs but Im blade recruit already and I cant use those extra points, theres 9 remaining and I dont know what to do with them

  95. theboss

what is my sp is all been reset…??

  96. Zeynox

Ayumi, some of the job advancement level requirement are wrong also i’m at lvl 60(blade lord) but i didn’t get any SP upon job advancement.

  97. Pikalahv

    …nevermind /)_<
    my fail.

  98. Pikalahv

Ayumi, I have question. This is my first time ever doing anything Hyper Skill-related, so my question is: Is the Hyper Skill build for DB the order you recommend putting points in? Or is it just more like “Oh, heres the skills, you decide”?

  99. Maxie3

@Kelvin, not only in GMS. In EMS, you can also have maxed all skills in 1st and +1st job. :)

  100. Kelvin

in GMS, you’ll be able to max everything since extra SPs will be given upon job advancement

  101. oOlemonOo

ey you dont need to leave anything blank.. they always make you max some stuff for db
so dont worry and dont make a new one you will have plenty of sp

  102. Ayumilove Post author

@Jesse: Latest Dual Blade information is here.

  103. Ayumilove Post author

@Mason: Probably you want to recreate again since you might not have sufficient SP (Skill Points) to max the remaining 1st Job Skills that can be used for later job advancements whereas Bandit Slash will be replaced easily with 2nd, 3rd and 4th job skills.

  104. Mason

do dual blades max everything because i accidentally maxed bandit slash in first job did i make a mistake?

  105. Jesse

is this updated to the newest version

  106. Tom

    Hi!

I recently started playing again and mastery books are now buyable from NPCs, but for mirror image on DB I can’t use those mastery books. Do I still have to get the original mastery book?

    Thanks!

  107. Salem

u can find it in leafre merchant or go up and u will find a book seller merchant :3

  108. emss

WildHeartless nobody sells it in secret garden, the merchant doesnt have mastery books… atleast in Europe Maple Story.. Any1 have any ideas?

  109. WildHeartless

emss… you buy them from a merchant in the basement of the secret garden

  110. emss

any1 knows where to buy skill books after red patch on eMS? Would use some help cause i keep looking and cant find

  111. Ayumilove Post author

@Jesse: I have not updated to GMS new release yet, probably would do it in the weekend.

  112. Jesse

Is this updated with the new update?

  113. Game

how can you max 2 job with only 30 skill points 10 lvl? pliz help

  114. Willington

Hi the date is currently February second 2014 I want to know two things, when is the dual blade revamp goog to happen in windia? And also, I am a level 163 dual blade with 191k range, is that godly for DBS this year in my world?

  115. JDPsy

Hello Ayumi, i have my dual blade in lvl 172 and i have one question, how many hyper skill point did you get for pasive, i mean, phantom blow reinforced, etc etc etc…?

  116. Stanley

I heard GMS is gonna start db red impact but there are skills such as slash storm, mirror image…. so how do we upgrade them? can we use the books we buy from hen potion shop?

  117. Jeff

I don’t see Blade Ascension as a skill for DB at lvl 60. I’m playing on GMS, maybe I’m missing something?

  118. Someperson

Wait a minute, according to this Shadow meld no longers give us dbs 7 seconds of crit O.O is this true or just a typo?

  119. FunPls

@Gmsplayer, I believe this is the final patch of the RED update, since GMS is still in the “E”(Zero) patch, we’ll just have to wait a bit. Hope you understand (Korean is first language, so sorry if any errors)

  120. Gmsplayer

What happened to Blade Ascension on GMS? It’s in KMS but not GMS why?? T_T

  121. Ayumilove Post author

Hi AnotherSEAPlayer, Dual Blade no longer requires to purchase Mastery Book from Cash Shop after RED. In GMS, you can purchase these mastery books from NPC located in Henesys and Leafre. However, if MSEA would like to be different than GMS (e.g. skill name different than GMS), then probably Dual Blade would still require @CASH to purchase them. From my personal opinion, the chances of it happening is slim since Dual Blade has join into Adventurer class. They would need the switching happen (from Dual Blade to Night Lord or Shadower and vice versa)

  122. AnotherSEAPlayer

Erm i want to ask you weather the DB still need Cash(@cash for SEA) Mastery BooK after Red?

  123. Ryudorobo(scania)

Hey guys, i just found out that so far ALL skills for dual blade can be completely maxed (for a fact jobs 1, 2, 2+, 3 and 3+ are certained to be maxed)

  124. HiImTato

Hi, there are some changes that are not in GMS maplestory like the new skill: Blade ascencion or the change of Sudden Raid, is because the DB revamp in red is only for korea?

  125. vfevdfv

    good

  126. Gmsplayer

Can’t progress with the SP setting until your reply T_T

  127. Gmsplayer

Hey Ayumi, I just took the open job advancement to dual blade, and there was no blade ascension in the skill inventory of 3rd job or 3rd job+? yet it is on your guide?

  128. Xenon

Basically,in the first job advancement, you need to add only 4 SP to Bandit Slash?

  129. Raizen

Hey Ayumi GMS said job advancement can only be done once
will this affect all the extra job advancement of the Dual Blade?

  130. Ayumilove Post author

Hi SEAPLAYER, after RED patch, all skill books (not mastery books) will be removed. Upon 4th Job Advancement, you will immediately get/unlock all 4th job skills. As for mastery books (20, 30), you can trade in with NPC salesman Bucklerman who is located in Henesys and Leafre for either books. He also sells generic/common Mastery Book 20 (7m meso) and Mastery Book 30 (10m meso) which has 100% success rate! (now everyone can avoid failing mastery books) These mastery book can be use for any 4th job skills that requires mastery book to uncap the level.

  131. SEAPLAYER

After RED patch will dual blade automatically learned phantom blow and final cut or you will still need mastery books?

  132. Ayumilove Post author

Hi Vincent, you’re right. Thanks for spotting that! I have replaced Bloody Storm with Blade Furry.

  133. Vincent

ayumi why do you put the sp into bloody storm hyperskill instead of the blade furry? i’m currently playing a db in msea and was thinking isn’t blade furry more important than bloody storm during higher levels?

  134. thederp96

i’m pretty sure there’s an npc selling mastery books for a 100% success rate, but.. it’s not necessarily that cheap for unfunded people like me 7m-10m I heard.

  135. Icarus

Why does Dual Blade require Mastery Books after the RED patch T_T
    Shouldn’t they just remove it?

  136. Juniar

why the channel karma not longer stack with another attack buff , this is quit annoying .

  137. Ayumilove Post author

@Crazy: I prefer Shadower though. Simple to use and its equips are widely available (cheap), therefore easier to fund for already scrolled/potential equips. If you are digging for unique combat style, you should try Dual Blade. They are amazingly fast if you know how to control it :) Or just try Thunder Breaker aka Striker Revamp (it is similar to it = moving quite fast + has combo moves + no mastery book funding required)

  138. Ayumilove Post author

@answer: Kaiser, Xenon, Aran, Dual Blade or Mercedes, Demon Slayer. Each job will allow you to experience different gaming style since they have their own unique combat system.

  139. Leonid

Hi Ayumilove, i recently made a dual blade and it wont let me get to job 3 cause it says that i need to use up all my skill points but i cant unless i buy a book cause there are just not enough skills you put all the points in and it cost like 50m in fm. So is there a quest that i can do to get the book for free and if there isnt a quest then how do i come by them

  140. answer this plz i want to know too

Hi ayumi. I’m thinking of getting a dualblade, but it needs a lot of funding right? Can I ask, in your opinion, what is the top 5 must-play jobs? Regarding overall perfomance. :) Thank you.

  141. Crazy

hey would yu perfer db or shad after red
to me they both look strong but in the long run who is better?
    -better to play with
    – less funding more attack
    – mobbing
    -fast leveling

  142. slasher

    Ok thx very much ayumi.

  143. Ayumilove Post author

Hi slasher, it will automatically receive the new skills. If the skill overhaul is large, they will provide auto-reset SP scrolls or automatically reset the skill points for you :)

If I had a dual blade before the patch will it receive the new skills if mine is ady 100+level?

  145. Austin

I have gotten phantom blow from the root abyss bosses too.

@mapleman: from zak and hilla. but the drop rate is TERRIBLE. Chaos version has higher drop rate, but harder to survive. or u could wait till RED where all SKILL books are removed :)

  147. mapleman

where can I get phantom blow and final cut skills books

  148. Ayumilove Post author

Hi Deathdemon, there shouldn’t be any storyline change for Dual Blade because RED perform skill revamp.

  149. Deathdemon

Hi ayumi, will there be any change to the storyline in the red update to duelblade?

  150. Fanboys

Hi ayumi. I’m thinking of getting a dualblade, but it needs a lot of funding right? Can I ask, in your opinion, what is the top 5 must-play jobs? Regarding overall perfomance. :) Thank you.

With Dual Bladers now becoming official adventurers, is it confirmed that phantoms can steal their skills? If so, then I’m expecting to see Final Cut stolen for the insane damage boost.

Hi Martin, check the Tempest to RED changelog just below the guide.

  156. Ayumilove Post author

Hi Martin, probably Q4 2013. The longer they delay the KOC revamp, GMS will get RED later unless they bunch both updates into 1 large patch.

  157. Martin

nvm i found the changelog :P one last question when red update will be for GMS?

  158. Martin

do they have new skills :o? if so which of them are :P ??
