9. Battle Frenzy (MAX)
10. Entrancing Confinement (MAX)
11. Flora Warrior (MAX)
12. Flora Warrior Will (MAX)

Explanation:
Battle Frenzy can be prioritized later since its mainly used for bossing purposes. Battle Frenzy buff lasts very short period and best utilized by continous execution of chain skills. Chain skills can be done in both Flora and Spectral Form. First, add 1 SP (Skill Point) to unlock all the 4th Job Skills except for Flora Warrior and Flora Warrior Will. Begin with maxing Expert Knuckle Mastery to provide a high stable damage output. Then, max Complete Fusion for the additional passive stats to boost your damage further. Next, you can max both Advanced Mystics Arts and Advanced Instinct Arts simultaneously or opt for one first depending on which form you train most (e.g. Flora form or Spectral form). Proceed with strengthening your primary skill by maxing Endless Nightmare aka Endless Ominous dream. After that, max Abyss Charge Drive aka Uncontrollable Chaos. Finally, you can start maxing Battle Frenzy, followed by Entrancing Confinement, Flora Warrior and Flora Warrior Will. Flora Warrior Will is maxed last as most regular bosses doesn’t regularly perform Seduce or inflict negative buffs or if you can defeat them quick enough to avoid them.

Ark V Matrix Skill Build

The skill mentioned in the first slot is the primary skill.
Trio #1: Plain Charge Drive + Approaching Death + Abyss Charge Drive
Trio #2: Unstoppable Impulse + Approaching Death + Plain Charge Drive
Trio #3: Scarlet Charge Drive + Unforgettable Dream + Plain Charge Drive
Trio #4: Approaching Death + Unforgettable Dream + Gust Charge Drive
Trio #5: Gust Charge Drive + Unstoppable Impulse + Scarlet Charge Drive
Trio #6: Abyss Charge Drive + Unforgettable Dream + Scarlet Charge Drive
Trio #7: Unforgettable Dream + Scarlet Charge Drive + Abyss Charge Drive

Ark Trio Node Setup Total Points
1. Plain Charge Drive = 3 (Level 15 per core x 3 core slots = Level 45)
2. Approaching Death = 3 (Level 15 per core x 3 core slots = Level 45)
3. Unforgettable Dream = 3 (Level 15 per core x 3 core slots = Level 45)
4. Scarlet Charge Drive = 4 (Level 15 per core x 4 core slots = Level 60)
5. Unstoppable Impulse = 3 (Level 15 per core x 3 core slots = Level 45)
6. Gust Charge Drive = 3 (Level 15 per core x 3 core slots = Level 45)
7. Abyss Charge Drive = 3 (Level 15 per core x 3 core slots = Level 45)
8. Crawling Fear = 0

Explanation:
Ark uses 8 skills for both training and bossing. Ark primary skills are Plain Charge Drive, Unforgettable Dream and Approaching Death (bossing). Ark secondary skills are Scarlet Charge Drive, Gust Charge Drive, Abyss Charge Drive and Unstoppable Impulse (training). Ark tiertiary skill are Crawling Fear. Crawling Fear has high cooldown and already high damage output which makes it not so ideal for leveling this skill, so this can be set as lower priority. Focus on maxing out all 7 skills within the first 7 slots. You can have 2 slots open for common skills such as Memory of the Root (bossing/training) and Decent Holy Symbol (optional). The Ark trio node setup above will enable you to have 3 trio nodes and having them at Level 15 will get you Level 45 skill easily. If the core slots has been enhanced with 5 Matrix Points, that will rack up Level 60 (Level 15 x 3 core slots + 5 Levels from enhance core x 3 core slots).

Ark Storyline

Ark, a descendant of the High Flora race, served as a soldier in the military; fighting for what he believed to be a worthy cause, a war for peace in the chaotic world of Grandis. Barely escaping a Spectre’s usurping, he awoke years later in the barren desert wasteland of Verdel. Remembering only his name, he now struggles to find his true self and suppress the evil within. Little did he know that it was all an elaborate scheme for Spectres to take over the world. Ark is a member of Grandis’ High Flora race. Being involved in a wicked scheme has resulted in half of his body being taken over by a Spectre. Without any memories of what he once was, Ark wanders through the abyss in search of his true identity. Ark is a pirate-type class who uses Knuckles as a weapon, and Abyssal Arm as a secondary weapon. He has the power to freely switch between two states: Flora Form – Combines classic High Flora combat techniques with magic. Spectre Form – Gains monstrous power from the abyss.

Ark Notes

  • New character, Ark, makes his appearance! Ark can master both the magic of the High Flora, and the destructive abilities of the Specter!
  • Ark hails from Grandis, and is a part of the High Flora race. He joins the High Flora military when the race engages in a civil war.
  • The High Flora launched a devastating attack on a peaceful race, and the monstrosities committed by his people shook Ark to his core.
  • Ark attempted to escape, to warn the denizens of the planet of the oncoming attacks, but he was quickly captured and labeled a traitor by General Limbo.
  • The sentence for his crimes was to be turned into a Specter, a soulless and mindless pawn of the High Flora army. However his closest friend, Albaire, intervened during the ritual, leaving Ark as Half-Flora and Half-Specter with no memory.
  • Now Ark wanders, searching for peace for Grandis and peace within himself.
  • Your adventure begins on the sand-crusted planet of Verdel.
  • Ark’s military training and the incomplete Specter ritual allows him to mix High Flora magic and Specter abilities to unleash devastating combos.
  • Ark’s primary weapon is a Knuckle, and his secondary weapon is the Abyssal Pass.

Ark Relationshop Tree

  • Brigadier General Limbo, a War Commander in the High Flora military, was actualy a Spectre in disguise.
  • Albert is Ark’s best friend. Despite having opposing views on their mission, he protected Ark till the very end.
  • Caravan Squad: Nia, Bark Bark, Way and Maru. They were traveling from planet to planet in search of paradise, and found Ark in the planet Verdel.
  • Arl was almost completely taken over by a Spectre during a rite of order which would make hjim true to the High Flora’s mission, but the ritual was interrupted by his best friend. This resulted in Ark being half Flora and half Spectre.
  • Francis, the Great Magician, extended an invitation to Ark to join the Black Wings organization.
  • Cadena, whose family was massacred by the Spectres, thought that Ark was the enemy due to his appearance, but was eventually convinced otherwise.

I main an Ark and 1 pro for me is the versatility. Especially mobbing and using skill mechanics to move around the map. I am 2m range or so, so nothing amazing but pretty mid-game and am still learning new ways to optimize training, farming (reboot), and bossing. Very click intensive, so lazy people should stay away but if you want a class that you will literally never get bored of, Ark is for you.

  2. CatNoir

Hi Ayumi, I was wondering, should I stack my Ark’s stats with WA or MA ? I know you stated that Ark can convert MA to ATT but I’m not sure whether Ark uses WA or MA 😂

  3. LengJack

how do you get this skill? Control Spectral Form I’m 2nd job but i don’t see it.

  4. Ltohack

@Chickens I’m not referring to the combo that allows you to stand still. I’m inquiring about how Ayumi was able to use Unstoppable Impulse without being lifted vertically, while still maintaining horizontal movement.

If you watch the videos, the character is using Unstoppable Impulse without first using Plain Charge Drive / Unforgettable Nightmare. The character just slides horizontally without being thrown into the air. I suspect this might be a difference between GMS and MSea.

  5. Chickens

@Boi @Ltohack The way that you do that is by using the skill right after using basic/plain charge drive in flora mode or using the skill after ominous/unforgettable nightmare in specter mode. You can do this to cancel the skill animation of most attacks, so it doesn’t just work for unstoppable impulse, but the rest of the skills as well.

  6. Chickens

In your V matrix skill build, I noticed there are 4 core slots of Unforgettable Dream and Scarlet Charge Drive and 2 slots of Unstoppable Impulse and Gust Charge Drive. Wouldn’t it be better to switch the node trio #6 (Abyss Charge Drive + Unforgettable Dream + Scarlet Charge Drive) to Abyss Charge Drive + Unstoppable Impulse + Gust Charge Drive so that each skill has 3 core slots?

  7. Boi

The comment @Ltohack posted about using Unstoppable Impulse without being lifted, i cant seem to do it either. Used arrow keys but cant seem to get it to work

@Ark: I highly recommend to increase the levels of the skills that you often use such as the Plain Charge Drive and Unforgettable Nightmare. Once you have all 7 slots reach at decent level where you can 1 hit KO monsters with the asssistance of the Arcane orb collected from daily quests, you can proceed with putting Infinity Spell Core into the 5th Job Matrix Skill window to assist you during bossing while the “Abysall Recall | Memory of the Root” is on cooldown state.

  9. Ark

hi ayumi, what do you think of infinity spell? Is it worth using up a V slot for it? My infinity spell core is currently only level 4 so I thought that maybe putting in a plain charge drive/unforgettable nightmare core would be more useful.

@porky: I believe that the Ark 3rd job skills will be unlocked upon reaching Level 60 and completing a quest of talking with the Ark’s inner demon. Use the light-bulb on the left-side and see for any Ark related quests.

Hi, im playing on maplesea and i realised i do not have Insatiable Hunger(or any other names for the skill). Do I have to complete the quest to obtain the skill?

  12. Ayumilove Post author

@Ltohack: Just press arrow key left/right and the skill Unstoppable Impulse/Instinct.

@gimnis: Link Skills that are good for Ark are Phantom Instinct, Elementation, Hybrid Logic, Judgement, Flow of Battle, Combo Kill Advantage, Keen Edge, Light Wash, Wild Rage, Intensive Insult, Rune Persistence and Elven Blessing based on MapleSEA. For GMS, you can replace any with Beast Tamer for added damage.

  16. gimnis

what link are good with him?

  17. Darryl Poh

Here are it’s Strengths and weakness:
    Strength:
    High base attack
Able to convert MATK into ATK
2 manual buffs, other buffs activated from attacks
    Has bind
Able to hit multiple platforms in Spectre mode
Has vertical and horizontal flash jump
    Innate healing
    Weakness:
Skills use HP instead of MP
(therefore consume loads of HP pots)
Link and Combo skills can be complicated
    Low Avoid and DEF
    (Must constantly maintain buffs up)
    Weapon skills have cooldown

@billy: It only converts 25% magic attack from armor/accessory and 10% magic attack from weapon into weapon attack based on the Magic Circuit Skill (Ark Beginner Skill)

  23. Ricky

when can we expect ark to come out on GMS

  24. Ayumilove Post author

@Majed: Thanks for your pros on Ark! I have added them into the pros and cons section.

  25. Majed

One pro to Ark could be the amount of lines he could do early game.

@Yoshiiro: Thanks for sharing Ark cons! I’ll be adding it into the guide above.

  27. Yoshiiro

one con to ark is that he has to be micro managed with his spell buff, those tiny diamonds things below his gauge to fully be effective, and also his first job doesnt have much mobility in skill terms as iirc, his first attacking skill locks him in place.

  28. jake

    @Aishi nope it’s not

  29. Aishi

Is Ark that person that appear to be Agate’s teacher in this comic?
