This guide highlights 5 easy ways to increase your damage in Maplestory using little to no mesos! The methods shown below are used to power level new released jobs such as Kanna up to Level 200 in one day. As you might notice, new jobs with scarce Mastery Books and Godly Scrolled Weapons (primary leveling tool) tends to slow down leveling progress unless the person is leeching from a higher level person, but that is another story!
1A. Create a Cygnus Character and level it up to Level 120.
The revamped Knights of Cygnus (Soul Master, Striker, Wind Breaker, Flame Wizard and Night Walker) grants Empress’s Blessing (passive skill in Beginner Skill Window) to all other characters in your account except for themselves. When Knight of Cygnus is trained up to level 150, Empress’s Blessing provides +30 weapon/magic attack to all other characters. Mihile (Special Cygnus Knight) can only provide up to +24 weapon/magic attack to all other characters EXCEPT itself by level 120 via level 24 Empress Blessing.
Note: Empress’s Blessings is not stackable with Blessing of the Fairy.
1B. Create a Explorer/Adventurer Character and level it up to Level 200.
Adventurer/Explorer characters grants Blessing of the Fairy (passive skill in Beginner Skill Window) to all other characters in your account except for themselves. It is stackable with Empress’s Blessing. The Blessing of the Fairy provides +1 ATK Power, +1 MAG ATK, and +1 Accuracy & Avoidability for every 10 level increment from an Explorer class, up to level 200.
Note: Blessing of the Fairy is not stackable with Empress’s Blessings.
2. Create characters that have Link Skills.
You need to create characters that possess link skills and level it up to Level 70. Next, link those skills to your primary character which you plan to level up to Level 200 at the shortest amount of time. If you have spare time, level those characters up to Level 100 to increase the Link Skill to Level 2 which provides additional benefit. If you are planning to create all of them, use those link skills to help you level up those characters first before linking to your primary character! You might ask which 1 to create first, therefore I list the most important one’s first: Mercedes (+10% EXP), Cannoneer (+25 All Stats and 10% Max HP MP), Kanna (+10% Damage), Phantom (+15% Critical Rate). For more information on which jobs possess link skills, visit MapleStory Link Skill Guide.
3. Create 3 deck of Character Cards with your existing characters!
I recommend using 9 rank S character cards (or 9 cards if possible) 3 decks – each deck has 3 cards. Basically, you need to create a deck of cards by combining 3 character cards to gain bonuses. Each combination yields different bonuses such as extra Max HP MP or more damage. For more information on the best card combination to increase damage, visit MapleStory Character Card System.
3. Setup Maple Legion aka Maple Union
I recommend getting at least 20 characters up to Level 140 so you can earn at least 40 coins per day. The Maple Union coins can be used to purchase EXP potions that help speed up leveling to Level 200. Also, each character in the Maple Union will be able to boost your primary stats and weapon/magic attack. Also, you can use it to boost your base HP and MP for easier leveling for new level characters. Visit Maple Union aka Maple Legion System Guide for more info!
4. Obtain “Will of Alliance” Skill
This skill gives you +5 All Stats (STR, DEX, INT, LUK), +5 Weapon and Magic Attack. It’s available for all classes but you need to complete a few quests to obtain this skill. You need to be Level 75. Start the quest by clicking the Light Bulb located on the left side of your screen and click the quest “Mysterious Discovery”. NPC Teo will begin briefing you about the quest and he will ask you to meet another NPC Muirhat to defeat some monsters, and later meet with Kyrin (Pirate Instructor at Nautilus) and Athena Pierce (Bowman Instructor at Henesys) and finally talk to Empress Cygnus residing at Ereve. Upon completing the quest, you will be shown some video footage of the alliance and then you gain this skill which is found under the Beginner Tab within your Skill Window.
5. Creating and Equipping Potential Equipment.
MapleStory has released a Potential System that allows your equipment to gain potential stats through crafting, scrolling with Potential Scroll and Cubing (uses NxCash for Premium Potential Cubes). However, if you do not have NxCash to spend, you can learn crafting (craft equipment especially weapon and armor) to create potential equipment. Potential Stats is better than ordinary stat since it can give you % percentage stat such as +9% STR. If you are Level 100 Warrior (5 AP x 100 Levels = 500 STR in primary attribute), 500 x 9% yields = 45 STR bonus from just 1 potential equipment! Visit MapleStory Potential System Guide for more info!
6. Create a mule to temporarily boost your primary character
This requires you to create another account and create a Phantom Thief to steal (aka copy) skills from Explorers such as Meditation (Boost Magic Attack), Rage (Boost Weapon Attack), Advanced Blessing (Boost Weapon and Magic Attack). For more information on skill copying, visit Phantom Thief Skill Build Guide. Next, login to both primary and mule account. Use the mule (Phantom Theif) to buff up your Primary Character during Training. This will give you an easy damage boost. Of course, it can also help speed up your training provided your Phantom Thief has Holy Symbol, Maple Warrior, Haste and other great skills.
