Hi Ayumilove! Thanks for your guides!
Alien Fragment Set is interesting too!

  2. Ayumilove Post author

@ken: To get Fafnir equipment, you will need to complete 10 Normal RA (Root Abyss) runs to unlock the CRA (Chaos Root Abyss). To enter Chaos Root Abyss, you will need to be Level 180. To beat the boss, your damage needs to be at least 2 million range clean. Otherwise, join a strong guild to carry you through Chaos Root Abyss boss raid. CRA can only be done weekly. Upon completing the CRA, you will get pieces which is used to form the equipment. Example: 5 pieces are needed for either Hat/Pants/Shirt while weapon need 15 pieces. The quick way is to just spend meso to purchase the Fafnir equips from the Trade Market which is quite costly but its much faster and you can get the equips with the stats you need.

For Sweetwater, I believe this is only available in GMS but not in MSEA. The Sweewater is obtainable through repeatable quest.

Arcane Umbra equip sets can be purchased from NPC shop by trading in Lucid droplets and Arcane River droplet stones. As the name implies, the Lucid droplets are obtained by defeating Lucid (boss) which can only be done weekly. Lucid may drop either 1 or 2 droplets depending on your drop rate. For Arcane Umbra weapon, you will need at least 24 Lucid Droplets and 240 Arcane River droplets. With max drop rate gear equip, the fastest you can get all 24 Lucid droplets is within 12 weeks (12 weeks x 2 droplets = 24 droplets).

Hello, I saw that Tsukuyomi’s sword of sorrow (the katara) was included in the fafnir set, is that accurate? It seems kind of out of place

  5. ziv

    Hi Ayumi

how the dragon tail/shark tooth/falcon wing/lionheart/raven horn sets compare to the utgard set?

  6. Ayumilove Post author

@Kennut: Thanks for the notice! I have performed the necessary correction on the ArcaneShade set for 5th Set effect.

  7. Kennut

Very helpful list you made here! But theres an error for the arcaneshade set. You repeated the 4set effect twice without adding 5 set effect.

  8. Erikuzuma

    Hello Ayumi,

Question: Is there a way for Zero to get a full set of the sets that include weapon? Like do they have a way to turn the Long sword and broad sword into Arcane Umbra weapons? Or do they eventually get a way to unequip their weapons and get a regular two-handed swords? Not that I’m any close to getting there, just curious.

  9. Anon

Hello, do you have a post about MapleSea end-game equips? Thank you

  10. Mapleboi

How do u get the root abyss set?

  11. Mak-Series

    Please update?

  12. Ayumilove Post author

@Anonymous: I have added Fafnir Psy-Limiter into the list above! I’m not sure if Tsukuyomi’s Sword of Sorrow is classified in a different set or no set at all.

  13. Ayumilove Post author

@Cififan: Hi, as mentioned by Anonymous, Tyrant does not provide any set bonus when equipping 2 or more equips of the same type. However, I could include them here but mentioned them as no bonus stats provided. However, Tyrant gears have boost in the stats they receive from enhancements, making a fully enhanced Tyrant item very powerful. The Tyrant gears which are not used are Tyrant belts or gloves, as they use the Gollux belt and the Mu Lung Dojo gloves instead for better stats.

The most efficient way and only way to obtain them is by killing Hard Magnus, which is only achievable with maxed out damage. The cape drop from the boss kill and the shoes are from a coin shop. It takes a few months to get sufficient coins for one pair, even if you are strong enough to kill Hard Magnus every day.

  14. Anonymous

Tyrant isn’t really a set, there is no set bonus.

  15. Cififan

    Hi Ayumi,

Just wondering why Tyrant Set is not listed, since many posts consider it as end game set?

  16. Anonymous

You added Tsukuyomi’s Sword of Sorrow in CRA set for some reason. You should also add Fafnir Psy-Limiter in the list.

  17. bakhe

@ayumilove: no problem! i was trying to get Sweetwater set and bought face accessory, and realized that it’s not part of it! i just didn’t want others to make the same mistake i made. T.T

  18. Ayumilove Post author

@bakhe: It should be all the same Gollux Type but different equip type for you to gain the MapleStory Gollux Set effects.

  19. Ayumilove Post author

@bakhe: Compatible equip type for Sweetwater Set are Hat, Suit, Shoes, Gloves, Cape and Weapon. This does not include Face Accessory, Eye Accessory, Earring, Pendant, Belt and Shoulder Decoration. Thanks for pointing it out! I have added a note there to help others who also have the same query as you.

  20. bakhe

does sweetwater tattoo not count as sweetwater set??

  21. thelisious

    Hey ayumi
I play demon avenger (lvl 201)
I want to make my character stronger, but I don’t want to spend too much on the items. Which set do you suggest on getting (considering its price and specs)?
FYI I have lvl 80 gloves, lvl 50 cape, lvl 80 shoes. The only reason why I haven’t changed them is cause they have HP % on them, but I want to change them now.
My current range is around 130k.
    Please let me know hehe.

  22. bakhe

thanks so much for the response ayumi! and i have one last question here. so i’m trying to get set effect from root abyss set and gollux set. and let’s say i have 2 gollux rings, 1 belt and 1 pendant, will i still get the 4equip effect? or does it have to be all different equips of a set? (2 gollux rings +1 gollux belt+1gollux pendant)
    thanks!

  23. Ayumilove Post author

    @bakhe: You’re welcome 🙂

  24. bakhe

RIGHT! So, potential scroll, or advance potential scroll then. I have a few fafnir equips that have no potential,, yes they are just regular equips which i want to upgrade. are those the only items that can make ‘regular’ equips to ‘rare’? i know there are cubes that i can use to upgrade rare equips to higher tiers like unique. thanks a lot ayumi! always quality answers!

  25. Ayumilove Post author

@bakhe: The equipment must have the label “Hidden Potential” shown with red font when you hover your mouse on the equip. If it has that, you can use “Magnifying Glass” to uncover the rank of the equip. The “Magnifying Glass” can be purchased from NPC Potion Shop. In the latest MapleStory update, they have replaced the “Magnifying Glass” item in NPC Potion Shop to become a service located in your equip inventory window. Clicking on that icon from the equip window and selecting on a Hidden Potential equip allows you to uncover the rank.

Items come in 4 ranks Normal, Rare, Epic, Unique. They are listed in order of rarity, from the least rare to the most. The higher the rank of an item, the more rare and valuable it is! Ranks are stated under the item’s name as well as shown via the color border of the item. An item will have a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 3 Potential attributes, based on the rank of the item. The chances of getting better Potential attributes raises with the rank of the item.

For regular equipment that has no rank at all, you will need to use either Potential Scroll (70% success rate) or Advanced Potential Scroll (90% success rate). If the scroll fail, your item will be destroyed. So, ensure you have spare weapon at hand, at least 2 clean ones. Using these scrolls, Maplers can change a normal item into a potential item without using up a precious upgrade count! Upon successful application of the scroll, players will have to use the magnifying glass to identify the potential of the item as per usual.
