Charles is an Elite Defense Water Hero from Holy Light Empire in Awaken Chaos Era. Charles is one of the top tier hero who can help you progress in Guild Boss, Agulis Battle, Endless Trial, Bounty Hunter and Void Tower as he has amazing consistent single-target crowd controlling skill, being super tanky with his enormous self-shield buff, deals True Damage based on his defense stats and has a unique trait that ramps up his Defense stats even further, which practically makes him difficult to be killed.
Commanding Fury is Charles’s unique defensive trait that allows him to deal True Damage that ignores enemy defenses, which means you do not need to pair him with a Defense Down debuffer for him to hit hard. This is great against bosses or enemies who have a high amount of defense at higher difficulty content.
Leaping Slash is his basic attack that is able to crowd control a single-target enemy. This allows Charles to force the enemy to target him rather than his allies, so they can have some time to rucuperate when seriously injured by the enemies.
Shelter is Charles’s signature passive skill that makes him practically invincible when he is geared with high defense. Whenever the enemies hit him, he gains 1 Rage. Each Rage contributes +20% Defense Bonus Stats on top of his total Defense stats. The Rage can stack up to 5 stacks, which gives him 100% Defense Stats once the skill is maxed!
Absolution Ultimate is his ultimate skill that buffs himself a Shield. The shield capacity is based on the total Defense stats that Charles have. When his Rage reaches max 5 stacks, the Shield generated will be gigantic. Having Defense Up buff makes his shield even stronger that enemies will have a hard time breaking it with brute force damage.
To unleash his full potential, equip Charles in high Defense and Health stats to beef him up, so he can take the initial hits while his Trait ramps up his Defense to make him tankier. Using Revival Set allows him to heal up while he has a Shield buff protecting him when he is low on Health. If you do not have a decent Revival Set, pair him with a healer to keep his health tip top while he is taunting the enemy to hit him rather than his squishy allies. Provide him with sufficient Focus stats, so he can taunt (lockdown) the enemy successfully.

Charles distinguished himself from an early age as a capable knight of the Imperial Guard with his bravery and sense of chivalry, particularly with General William who appointed Charles to his personal retinue and looked upon the young man’s career with favor. Charles developed into an impressive commander in his own right under the tutelage of the Emperor’s Hand, William. Unlike many of the other noble-born commanders of the Imperial Guard, Charles is a respected figure within the communities garrisoned by his battalions, and the charismatic general has often gone to great lengths to assist the local townsfolk in necessary public works or even in minor matters such as locating missing pets if the opportunity avails itself, which has made him particularly popular in his current command in Double Crown.
