MapleStory Resistance Demon Slayer Job Selection

Demon Slayer is one of MapleStory Resistance Warrior born with unique abilities and traits. They are demon warrior who specializes in Scepters and wields Shield that accumulates Fury. Fury is similar to MP (Magic Points) but its replenished through attack and siphoned from dead enemies, not from potions! Demon Slayer primary stat is STR (strength).

Demon Slayer Overview

SECONDARY STAT: Dexterity (DEX) – needed for some equips

Demon Slayer Storyline

Demon Slayer was one of Black Mage’s loyal generals but was betrayed by his fellow generals and Black Mage. He fought against his former comrades and Black Mage himself but was defeated and sealed away. He awakens in present by breaking the seal which had weakened over a century. Demon Slayer find himself considerably weak due to Black Wings draining his power for their own benefits. He was then rescued by one of the Resistance members. The Resistance member briefed him about Black Wings organization and Black Mage who was still alive. Demon Slayer decides to join the Resistance in hopes to meet Black Mage to exact his revenge.

Demon Slayer Notes

  • The Demon Slayer is only occasionally available to create. When this is available, he will either be an option on the normal class selection menu, or there will be a special menu you can open from the character select screen.
  • Following the required part of her tutorial, the Demon Slayer is already level 10 with his first job advancement complete.
  • The Demon Slayer has additional job advancements that can be done at levels 30, 70, and 120.
  • There will be a quest for each job advancement in the quest notifier (light bulb) on the left side of your game window when you reach a level when you can do a job advancement.
  • The Demon Slayer needs to have a one-handed blunt weapon or one-handed axe equipped in order to perform most of his skills.
  • The Demon Slayer has a unique shield called a Demon Aegis. It grows more powerful as he goes through job advancements, and it grants him more points of Dark Force.
  • Dark Force doesn’t function completely like MP. You must attack enemies using certain skills in order to drain energy from them to recover your DF.
  • The Demon Slayer uses a combo system that is a bit different from Aran’s. After learning Demon Lash, the key for your regular attack must be tapped multiple times in succession to perform the combos.
  • The moniker “Demon Slayer” comes from him being a slayer who is part demon.
  • Each Demon Slayer character has its own Cash Inventory, not shared with other characters.
  • Although we might refer to the Demon Slayer with masculine pronouns outside of the game, you will have the option to play as a female version of the Demon Slayer in the game.

Demonic Blood Demonic Blood (Passive)
Demon Slayers are known for their strong willpower and overwhelming ambition.
LV1: Willpower: Lv. 20, Ambition: 20, Knock-back Resistance: 100%.

Fury Unleashed Fury Unleashed (Passive)
While fighting boss, Demon Slayer deals more damage and absorb more fury.
LV1: +10% Damage and +6 Fury per hit against boss.

Curse of Fury Curse of Fury (Passive)
Each Demon Slayer’s attack has a chance to trigger Endless Fury.
When triggered, HP will be replenished and eliminated enemies provides fury.
LV1: Endless Fury Chance: 5%. Recovers 5% HP.

Allows Demon Slayer to perform various jumping skills using wings.

1. Add 1 SP into Demon Lash, Grim Scythe.
2. Max Shadow Swiftness, Demon Lash, Battle Pact, HP Boost, Grim Scythe.

Explanation:
In my opinion, training on monsters that only takes 1-2 hits is faster with Demon Slash compared to Grim Scythe. Therefore, I max Grim Scythe last. By the time you reach near level 30, you can use Grim Scythe against mini bosses like Slime King in Kerning Party Quest.

However for training efficiency, get Shadow Swiftness to move around map quickly to reach monster/town. Next boost Demon Slash damage followed by Battle Pact (increases your slashing speed considerably). These 2 alone levels you up faster than Grim Scythe, unless you can find a spot crowded with monster, use Grim Scythe instead.

Increases damage done by Demon Lash.
LV1: Demon Lash Damage +40%.

Soul Eater Soul Eater (Active)
Attack 8 enemies 4 times and pull them towards you.
Press and hold skill key to continuously attack and pull monster.
LV1: HP -45, Fury -6, Damage: 112%
LV20: HP -45, Fury -6, Damage: 150%

Dark Thrust Dark Thrust (Active)
Charge forward and drag 8 monsters within your path. Attack each monster 3 times.
LV1: Fury-10, Damage: 86%

Chaos Lock Chaos Lock (Active)
Teleport to the closest enemy, and attack 6 monsters within vicinity.
Has a chance to stun the enemy for a short duration.

Demon Slayer 2nd Job Skill Build: Everything maxed except Dark Thrust.
1. Add 1 SP into Barbed Slash, Soul Eater and Dark Thrust.
2. Max Weapon Mastery, Outrage and Physical Training.
3. Max Soul Eater, Vengeance and cap Dark Thrust at Level 18.
4. Max Chaos Lock.

Explanation:
Barbed Slash only requires 1 SP to max to gain great bonus damage, so max that first! Soul Eater and Dark Thrust are basically weak if the base damage is low. Therefore, add 1 SP first into these 2 primary attacking skills for 2nd job, then max Outrage, Physical Training and Weapon Mastery. Once that is done, max Soul Eater. You will be bumping into monsters especially with Dark Thrust, so max Vengeance to save some health. Chaos Lock isn’t use often since its more effective to clear map with Dark Thrust in a cycle.

Possessed Aegis Possessed Aegis (Passive)
When you attack a monster, there is a chance to guard against enemy attacks.
f guarding is successful, you recover some HP and Fury.
LV1: 2% Guard Chance. Recovers 1% HP and 1 Fury gauge.
LV15: 30% Guard Chance. Recovers 3% HP and 5 Fury gauge.

Max Fury Max Fury (Passive)
Allows you to receive additional Fury when using Demon Slash.
Also recovers a fixed amount of Fury every 4 seconds.
LV1: 15% chance to absorbing additional Fury. Recovers 2 Fury every 4 seconds.
LV5: 75% chance of absorbing additional Fury. Recovers 10 Fury every 4 seconds.

Demon Slayer 3rd Job Skill Build: Everything maxed except Vortex of Doom.
1. Max Demon Arch Lash.
2. Add 1 SP into Carrion Breath.
3. Max Fury, Focused Fury and Carrion Breath.
4. Max Insult to Injury, Possessed Aegis and Black-Hearted Strength.
5. Max Raven Storm and Judgement.
6. Dump remaining SP into Vortex of Doom.

Explanation:
You will be using Soul Eater (Demon Slayer 2nd Job Skill) for 3rd Job Training area until you get your Carrion Breath and Insult to Injury. Therefore, to spam Soul Eater often, maxed Max Fury and Focused Fury. Do not max other offensive 3rd Job Skills yet since it consumes way too much Fury at once against cluster of weak monsters.

Upon maxing those skills above, maxed Carrion Breath and Insult to Injury to deal more damage against tougher high health monsters. It is not recommended to use Judgement for training as it uses lots of Fury and deals less damage. Killing monsters instantly with Fury skills using little Fury allows you to spam these skills often and level up faster with effective Fury training.

Monsters also do high damage, so you will need to protect yourself from getting hurt. Proceed with maxing Possessed Aegis and Black Hearted Strength. Personally, I don’t use Judgment and Vorex of Doom much since Dark Thrust is easier to pack monsters into a can of sardines and poison them to death with Carrion Breath. In short, these skills can be upgraded later.

Max Raven of Storm to save some health potions. Less health potions consumed means less visits to the clinic/pharmacy to purchase potions. Once all the essential skills above are maxed, you can max other skills in any order.

Increases damage done by Demon Lash.
LV1: Demon Lash’s damage increases by 160%. (Final Damage: 280%)

Infernal Concussion Infernal Concussion (Active)
Attacks 10 enemies and lift them up in air dealing another 4 critical hits.
LV1: HP -600, Fury -80, 255% Damage, 248% critical damage.

Blue Blood (Level 150)
Awaken the power contained in the demon bloodline, doubling your skills’ number of hits (extra hits will only do 90% damage) for 60 seconds. Passive effect: increases your maximum damage by 200,000, and reduces the DF consumed by all skills by 20%. There is a cooldown of 120 seconds.

Cerberus (Level 170)
A huge demon is summoned to steal the souls of up to 8 enemies in front of you, dealing 450% damage 6 times while ignoring 50% of the monsters’ defense. On boss monsters, your damage is increased by 50%. After attacking, regain 50 Demon Force. There is a cooldown of 5 seconds. The maximum damage for this skill is 9,999,999.

For Liberty (Level 200)
The wish of the Resistance who dream of freedom and liberty in the Maple World becomes concrete, increasing your and Resistance in your party’s damage by 10% and maximum damage by 50,000 for 60 seconds. There is a cooldown of 120 seconds.

However, after you’ve received the Alliance medal and skill, you’ll get a quest from Brighton. He will tell you how Cygnus can help Battle Mages become even better. He will then send you to a mine where you have to mine 10 Alexandrite. Remember that to mine them, you have to attack them as if they’re monsters. After you’ve mined 10 of those stones, go to the nearest Dimensional Door and go to the Ereve Alliance meeting place. There, you’ll see Cygnus ready to finish you quest and give you 7 extra SP for 2nd job.

Will of Alliance for Resistance

1. At level 10, complete all of the tutorial quests until you are level 14 with the earring.
2. At level 14, complete the airship quest (kill 80 airships get 10 chips)
3. At level 15, complete the quest where you transform into Surl (you need 10 red potions, 10 blue potions, and 3 acorns) and talk to the fat dude with the pockies.
4. (DOES NOT APPLY TO DEMON SLAYER) At level 18, complete the quest from the girl you helped in the very beginning. (she will give you a series of quests. first get 60 wooden signs, then 30 snake tails, and then kill the last monster in the training area)
5. At level 20, talk to Surl. Collect waters to fill up his tank.
6. At level 23, talk to Surl again. Enter the airplane area to find a bunch of red-hooded bunnies. Kill one and take its badge. Go back to Surl and accept his new quest.
7. FINALLY, talk to Claudine and finish the quest.

After this step, keep accepting quests from/talking to Claudine and one of her quests will eventually transport you to Ereve to get the Alliance Will skill. You will also have to talk to Lady Cygnus once you’re there in order to get the Alliance medal (gives a nice +500 hp/+500 mp)

Xenon is part of MapleStory Resistance, the first hybrid of Thief and Pirate! Energy Sword are their main weapon and Controller is their secondary weapon. Xenon Storyline

Xenon and his friends (Brighton, Belle, Claudine and Elex) were playing a game at Edelstein. On the way home, Xenon was kidnapped by Gelimer. Xenon and Beryl (a female), were made test subjects by Gelimer who had their memories erased. A few years later, the Resistance investigated the Verne Mine, and Xenon was sent by Gelimer to fight them. Upon seeing a trapped Claudine, Xenon had a blurred memory which reminded him of something. To confirm his suspicions, Xenon went to the prison which Claudine was held to ask her about his past. Xenon showed her a dagger, the one which Lutie, an android, gave him. They both realized, they knew each other! Xenon began his escape with Claudine and Lutie. Beryl appeared and fought Xenon on Gelimer’s command. The Resistance brought Xenon and Lutie back to the Secret Plaza. They knew that Gelimer could control and locate Xenon with a device on him, so it was removed and destroyed. Xenon then had his own mission to accomplish, which was to recover his lost memories.

Xenon Notes

  • Xenon has 3 main stats (STR, DEX and LUK). If you wear 3% STR, it would be distributed evenly and become 1% STR, 1% DEX, and 1% LUK.
  • Multi-mode does not use surplus energy. It is a skill that allows you to select 1 out of 3 modes. Multi-mode skill is made available at 2nd job.

Explanation:
Energy Spline will be Xenon’s primary attacking skill, so add at least 1 SP (Skill Point) to start with. Also add 1 SP into Incline Power and 1 SP into Multilateral II (max level 1) to boost your base damage. Begin maxing Redial Nerve Refine and Sudden Propel to move easily from platform to platform and quickly within large maps. The faster you reach monsters for the kill, the faster leveling experience you gain. Max Incline Power to boost the base damage for all skill and regular attacks and lastly max Energy Spline and Pinpoint Rocket. Pinpoint Rocket will be further upgraded in later jobs, so do max them! It will be useful to fly around platforms while shooting enemies from above without getting hurt if the enemies do not have magical range attacks.

Explanation:
[NOTE-1] The combination of Pillar Scramble and Split does not make a good combination because everything can be killed in mostly 1-2 hit with Pillar Scramble. It’s similar to Angelic Buster’s skill where performing 1-2 Heavenly Crash is sufficient to kill enemies without requiring Shinning Star Burst. Therefore, you wouldn’t benefit much from the extra damage even if the enemies are in mid-air. [NOTE-2] Split is identical to Mercedes Leap Tornado, except that you can’t macro it so doing two in one jump is difficult if you don’t have autofire. Diagonal Chase and Leap only allow you to follow up with one Split, unlike Rolling Moonsault/Legendary Spear. [NOTE-3] Diagonal Chase is inefficient for rushing as it raises you up platforms and most maps have those. Ion Thrusters is still the best way to perform mob control.

[QUESTION] So, I’m getting 3 auto assigns….for Xenon. I want to distribute them normally, and am not sure how the 3 stats build are supposed to work out..
[ANSWER] There are three auto assign buttons. The first one auto assigns to Str. Second Auto Assigns to Dex. Third Auto Assigns to Luk. These Auto Assign Buttons will keep applying AP until it reaches the current AP requirement for Multilateral. For Example: At First job the Multilateral requirement is 40 STR, DEX, LUK. If you pick any of the 3 buttons then it will be set to apply AP to whatever button you picked till it reaches 40 AP then you can select one of the others to max to 40 and etc. Once all 3 AP has reached their requirement the 3 butons will be avalible again to reach the next Multi-Lateral Requirement which in this case is 90 for 2nd job Multi-Lateral. By level 200 you should have 330 in each stat and 18 free AP.

4. Dump remaining SP into Heavy Weapon Mastery.

Explanation:
Mechanic 2nd Job Primary attacking skill will be Atomic Hammer. Rocket Booster is a good mobility skill when you want to reach to the highest platform quickly without having to climb the ropes. Add 1 SP (Skill Point) to both of these skills to speed up leveling. Next, max Mechanic Mastery (Damage Stabilizer and Accuracy Enhancer), Physical Training (raises your min max damage), Atomic Hammer (for training purposes), Mechanic Rage (reduce attack delay), Open Portal (mobility skill to teleport instead of walking), Rocket Booster (reduce the MP cost per jump) and Perfect Armor (more defense!). Heavy Weapon Mastery is not maxed since you won’t be using much Gatling Gun and Flame Launcher as it is replaced with Atomic Hammer and later on replaced with a 4th Job Skill which is much more powerful.
