Yannica Review

Yannica is a Legendary Attack Spirit affinity champion from the High Elves faction in Raid Shadow Legends. She is one of several powerful legendary and epic champions among the High Elves. Yannica performs best in an offensive team in the Arena, particularly when opposing teams led by Krisk that are known to have shield buffs. If built properly, she will eliminate those buffs and attack the other teams aggressively. Yannica may be a powerful champion in any dungeon and is especially effective in boss fights in Faction Wars thanks to her strong AoE and leech A1 skills. She performs best against Sorath the Frost Spider in the Doom Tower since her leech a1 ability prevents the transmission of debuffs, making her incredibly useful. Generally, a strong legendary player can perform well in the majority of situations.

Yannica Champion Lore

The first Dark Elves riled at the arrogance of so many of their ‘High’ Elf counterparts, even of those in the middling tiers of society. From birth they were bred to look down on any beneath them. Yannica was a formidable sorceress and a skilled warrior, and her snobbery and sense of self-importance were renowned. She made many enemies, and even those ostensibly on her side during the War of the Elves were loath to work with her.

Told that she would become the greatest mage of all time by her tutors, Yannica desired anything that would show up her fellow spellcasters. Setting someone on fire? How blasé. Freezing them solid? Child’s play. Yannica wanted to wield magic that would make her victims and servant’s eyes pop out of their heads — quite literally in some cases. She scoured every ancient tome, codex, and grimoire she could get her hands on, hunting for that spell that would make her the talk of the magical world. If she could marry that with her desire to crush the upstart Dark Elves that terrorized Aravian society and threatened to tear down centuries of Elven accomplishments, even better.

Yannica’s breakthrough came in the form of an invisibility spell, which she realized would be perfect for infiltrating Dark Elven encampments and supply hoards, as well as Dreamwalker cult gatherings. While she was able to cast this on herself without difficulty, she had less success casting the illusion on others – she found she could not sustain the magic for long. It was, of course, she said, not down to her inexperience as a mage — it was in some way due to the incompetence of her followers. She told herself it did not matter – she would make the spell work when she needed to.

During the war, a High Elf army launched an assault to oust a host of Dark Elves from the Shimmering Plateau. Yannica was tasked with using this as a distraction to allow her and her warriors to infiltrate the foe’s encampment. Their goal was to seize maps, papers, and correspondence. Yannica decided she would not cast her invisibility spell until the very last moment, partly because she could not apparently trust her followers, but also – a reason she held more privately – to conserve her strength.

Yannica’s band made considerable progress, slitting the throats or magically freezing multiple Dark Elf sentries before they were identified. Shadow bolts and black arrows flew, striking down several Aravians. The High Elves raced toward their foe blades ready, and cut down many Dark Elves, but were all surprised by the tenacity of their enemy, whom they had all seen as little more than envious gutter trash. Unable to gain more ground, Yannica weaved her prototype spell in frustration, forcing more energies into it than she ever had before, causing her and her allies to vanish into thin air.

As the Dark Elves scrambled to find their newly disappeared enemies, Yannica and her followers struck, cutting down foe after foe.

The High Elves pushed on deeper into the Dark Elf fort, and they could hear the din of battle in the distance. Ahead were hastily erected huts and tattered tents where they might find what they were searching for. The Dark Elf rearguard had been pulled into the ongoing clash, leaving much unguarded, and Yannica’s warriors stormed every shelter they could find. They recovered troves of valuable information. They had triumphed. Yannica wanted to be seen when the van of the High Elf army reached them, to present the commander with what she had found. She planned a great spectacle. She would cease her invisibility spell at the perfect time so that she and her band would materialize before the commander’s very eyes.

But when the time came, and Yannica attempted to undo her spell, her followers reappeared, but she did not. She was horrified. She had to be seen by all as the fantastic arcanist she knew she was. It took much effort to restore herself to visibility, and by the time she succeeded any hope she’d had in making a dramatic display to impress the commander had passed. She thanked Yannica politely for her efforts, but said nothing more before moving on.

What made matters worse for Yannica was that she later discovered that even a small drop in her concentration caused her form to flicker and fade. Somehow she had forced the invisibility magic so intensely that it had become all but permanent. From that day forward she was forced to remain ever vigilant and sacrifice a portion of her enormous power to hide her mistake. All so that she could be seen.

Yannica is at least 4* on Spider’s Den. Running her with a Relentless set (18% chance of an extra turn, on TOP of her Baffling Speed granting an extra turn…) and focusing on Attack %, Crit %, and Speed means she nukes the spiderlings on every turn. Paired with Lyssandra’s Exhaustion skill (depletes turn meter) and the Spider queen doesn’t stand a chance.

  2. Toetag

@ayumilove Please consider making her a 5* on Minotaur. She solos lvl 15 in 30-32 seconds with ease in savage gear.

  3. CtEtna

per i vari campionio serve la sezione per hydra

  4. Matthew

I got her from the clan shop about the same time I finished the Tatura fusion; so I ended up using him to finish off my FW team, instead.
On a whim, I decided to build her, since I had been so excited about it over the 20 weeks prior and she has quickly become one of my favorite legendaries… probably top 5. I find her so satisfying to play with, and her single turn damage from A2 + A3 is just so good.

  5. MrSrgsnowman

@Edrana87 , I’m a little late to the party but Yannica does an AoE when she is under veil or perfect veil (tested with duchess’s perfect veil ability). hope you see this!

  6. Vlad451

You can also get Yannica from the Clan Shop.

  7. Edrana87

Does her A1 do AoE damage even if she’s under Perfect Veil, or only when it’s “regular” Veil?
Asking, bc everywhere else it specifies both.

  8. SwaILLIDAN

Any idea when her multiplier had been changed? Was it with her release in clan shop, or has she been like that for a while? Because I remember checking a couple weeks ago into the datamined spreadsheet and her being displayed with the ones you just updated her with. We’re her old multipliers displayed here just a mistake, or were they changed?

  9. Ayumilove Post author

@nerd: I have updated Yannica’s damage multiplier for all of her skills.

  10. nerd

    all Multiplier are wrong

  11. Glace

She with Rector Drath is unbeateable in my team.

  12. ArcticF0X

Updating my rating after 8 months. Still using Yannica in multiple settings, including Arena and Clan Boss. There aren’t many champs you can say that for. They require different builds and mine is somewhere in the middle. The secret is STALWART gear. Clan Boss she can maintain 100% leech uptime and with some defensive stats, Blastproof mastery, Veil and Stalwart she can mitigate damage and heal 100% off warmaster procs. In Arena she can hit hard on the A2 then vanish. She can only be hit by AOE and all those things I mention above keep her alive.

Suggest try to get a DEF chest and ATK boots, or the other way round, with a high speed substat on the boots to get her to the necessary speed. Great all rounder, handy in Fire Knight and Ice Golem too, plus speed clearing Doom Tower Normal waves.

  13. redswift

She is much better than B. With the extra turn she is a dps machine. FK and IG is 5 star. Clearing the waves with ease. Potion keeps and Mino are also 5 star. Also provides leech.
The A2 and A3 combo in arena is killer. A2 can pick out anybody. Than extra turn with A3

  14. _Mashoga_

You put he at 1* for magic keep, probably because of the affinity but she makes Magic 15 a piece of cake with her A3. As the only good shield remover I have she alone changed my account from farming MK 10 4 min auto runs on MK 15

  15. Zyke

Should be at least A or S tier… her zone leech & shiled breaker capabilities makes her highly self sustainable abd she deals great damage.
Low on life, but her ability to veil herself protects her until she leeches.
Underrated in my opinion, and highly effective with duchess 🙂

  16. Timbo23

Im using divine crit rate on mine and shes kicking ass!

  17. Seeker70

Just to add to others’ comments, in case someone pulls Yannica and is worried based on the ratings here… she is AWESOME. She can solo Minotaur, Red Keep, Arcane Keep, and is my campaign farmer. She is also great in Fire Knight, and on Magic Keep her A3 not only removes the whole shield but does extra damage based on the shield, so even off-affinity she’s minimum of 4 star, I use her every time in my team. Put her in relentless, with 100% crit rate and watch her just destroy everybody. Super underrated on this site.

  18. ArcticF0X

PS I forgot to mention that her aura is really strong in all settings. She’s an asset in most areas and provides decent damage and good sustain for the team.

  19. ArcticF0X

I think she could be upgraded to 4-star for Spider. Has really helped me pass the Force affinity levels. Double hit A1 is useful on the spiderlings, she keeps Leech constantly on the boss, she is velied herself so doesn’t get targeted by spiderlings. She just needs enough HP to survive the boss AOE attacks as that’s all that hits her. Pairs really well with a hard hitter like Royal Guard or Skullcrown to smack the spiderlings and fully heal to 100% HP from the combined leeches.

Also worth noting (I haven’t tried it yet but plan to) that Stalwart might be a very good set for her, as AOE damage is the only type she receives assuming the Perfect Veil is maintained.

Overall an under-rated Legendary, possibly worth A-Tier. Thanks.

  20. nikolas adri

For love of GOD, GET HER 100% CRIT RATE and Max Her Crit DAMAGE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
100% will one shot everyone with her A2 (except magic-affinity i guess??)

  21. Mk2017

    @Esqarrouth

    https://ibb.co/ry8D5dF
Don’t have a particular reason for using relentless to he honest nor does she really benefit from it like Rotos. I’d either go for immunity or savage on her if using her for arena. She will one shot pretty much anyone with her A2 and then go on to either do A3 on auto if people are under shield or she will do her a1 which does hit comparable to Ma’shalled.

Her A3 ignores shields and you do NOT need accuracy to one shot champs under shields, however to remove them you’d need to meet accuracy check. Imo she isn’t worth building for shield removal but she can one shot the entire roster of champs under shields which she’d prioritize after her a2. Her a2 is a very hard hitter on single target then as she gets an extra turn she’d prioritize a3 in the arena unless nobody is shielded and in clan boss she only does a2 and a1 and never a3

  22. Esqarrouth

@Mk2017 What kind of gear/masteries did you get to solo Mino15?

  23. MadPK

Does she need Accuracy to do the shield removal part of her A3 also there are times when her A2 just doesnt put her under a viel

  24. MysticcGlitcH

@TheNamesLivid- He ranks them based on there overall utility within the game. She really shines in the Arena and if built right she can Nuke. Also, she has Leach debuf which was reworked a few patches back which is really nice to help keep your team alive. I only use her in the Keeps. Note: She was my first Lego too about 7months ago (: Keep On Raiding brother.

  25. TheNamesLivid

First legendary pulled, she takes a lot of effort and gear but man she is useful. I noticed she has 53 stars and isn’t in A rank. Is there a specific reason for that?

  26. MysticcGlitcH

Just a quick note to some. She is very good in the Magic keep considering she is the negative affinity. Her A3 will take the shield buff off the boss as long as her ACC is high enough. I’ve been using her and without her it takes around 1:30-2:00 mins. With her I average around 30-45 secs.

  27. Mk2017

Oh yeah, forgot… She can also solo farm void, force and mino 15 and level fodder up along the way and can do so in around 35-40 seconds. Good for campaign too early game because of her leech/veil combo.
Arena offense is also a 5 because of her a2 one shot slash extra turn into 2 hit A1 aoe or a hard hitting a3.
Need to revise the ratings mate…

  28. Mk2017

Yannica is 5 stars for both fire knight and ice golem 20 dungeons… She hits 3 times with her a2 then a1. Her A2 is the hardest single target nuke in the game and will one shot any trash mob with defense down. She then follows up with her a1 and AoE hits everyone twice and her damage is comparable to big un’s on her a1 but a bit weaker.

Her a1 applies leech consistently even with 160 accuracy which is low. With that being said, in fire knight Yannica gets 2 turns on waves and prioritizes her a2 and then goes straight into her a3 killing an add with a2 to follow up with a3. On the actual boss yannica only prioritizes her a2 and a1 and hits fire knight 3 times every other turn when booked and is guaranteed to hit at least twice.

Clan boss, similar to fk boss part Yannica never uses her A3 on the clan boss and can put out insane damage on her own with her hardest hitting a2 which she uses every other turn with her a1. Not only that but she will also proc warmaster twice as often as other champions who do not get extra turns. In addition to that she has leech on her A1 that is just as reliable as Tayrel’s A1 and since she never uses her A3 on the clan boss every turn she she will always do her a1.

  29. Destroyer39

    51 Stars = A Rank

  30. MysticcGlitcH

I actually had this champion in the stash to never be used. And like Shaaw said below, its let you be able to equip other champions in set pieces without having to gear everybody in Lifesteal. I’m looking forward to testing this theory out to see how nice it works. Now the main thing I want to know that works, even though its 18% life return on damage dealt, if Warmaster or Giant slayer Procs that would be full health back I would think? Looking forward to testing this out.

  31. Atuh

So Yannica’s A3 is not removing shields even when she’s under true veil. Do affinities come into play here too or the accuracy perhaps?

  32. Shaaw

@Ayumilove: Lifesteal set is effectively replaced by 100% uptime leech. While the amount of healing is lower, the advantage is the freedom to use other sets like stalwart or speed without losing the ability to heal. Leech isn’t a replacement for lifesteal in 100% of situations, but it is an extremely viable alternative particularly towards end game when you are dealing high damage.

Plus, it provides a noticeable benefit outside of cb too in dungeons and particularly in faction wars. The AOE leech application can help a tonne in spiders or stage 20 waves.

As for arena, Yannica is showing up in high end arena offense teams more and more from what I’ve seen. Her A2/A3 combo hard counters champs like Warlord who put up big shields. I wouldn’t change her arena defense score, but for arena offense she should be 5 stars.

Overall, I’d say she should be:

Campaign – 5 (AOE on A1, applying leech let’s her pair for nightmare 3 star runs)
    CB – 5
    Arena Offense – 5
    Faction wars – 5
    FK – 4
    Spiders – 4

  33. MikeJ

Yannica’s A3 is killing her if she has a shield and under veil, is this normal? Or perhaps a glitch? The skill says it removes targets shield and does extra damage. Am I missing something?

  34. Knee-Buckler

    @Ayumilove:

Can you add masteries for Clan Boss aswell? Or would you do them the same as the masteries there? I really think Yannica can be used for Clan Boss aswell because of the Leech.

  35. Ayumilove Post author

@STFU: I have re-updated Yannica’s Clan Boss rating from 3 Star to 4 Star. Leech provides 18% healing in comparison to Lifesteal Set. You will need to do much more damage if you want to replace the Lifesteal Set for it to allow you to heal and survive longer in Clan Boss. For example: 40K damage per attack from a champion with Lifesteal Set heals them 12K HP. If you equip with broken set or matching set, you will need to do approximately 67K damage with Leech debuff to get the same amount of healing as Lifesteal Set.

  36. STFU

Leech has been updated. Could this change her ranking in Clan boss?

  37. Sam

There was an update to her A3. Does that change any recommendations on her?

  38. Ayumilove Post author

@Kin: For any debuffer champion, it’s recommended to achieve at least 220 Accuracy for end-game Faction Wars, Dungeon and Clan Boss. These accuracy stat can be achieved by equipping Accuracy Banner, Accuracy Chestplate or equipping equipment that has upgrade rolls on Accuracy substat. Great Hall also provides additional Accuracy stat to all champions within a particular Affinity.

  39. Kin

What’s the value of acc for her?

  40. frost2k

@ayumilove Is she still so bad ?

  41. Ayumilove Post author

@multyafka: Thanks! I have updated Yannica’s aura skill description.

  43. Ayumilove Post author

@Mike: Yannica’s skills have been updated to the Patch 1.13. Her ratings, masteries and equipment guide are updated according to her revamped skills.

  44. Mike

She has been reworked with the latest update 12.feb.2020.
It would be great if you could update this page with mastery and artifacts recommendation

  45. Knee-Buckler

She needs a rework because the skills have changed. I hope the rework will be done soon 🙂

because i do like her now in the arena and also spider

  46. DocMcCracken

Might be worth a revisit here, new kit makes her taking a fresh look

  47. Alastar

Why the champion has 1 star in the spider’s den? She has AoE damage (Elven Judgement skill) and Leech (Even the Odds)

According to the “SPIDER’S DEN RATING”
    She must have 4 stars

  48. Jose

    Please rework

  49. peter knapman

My first leg after 90 days of playing. FML

  50. GoTo

I like how you didn’t even bother to propose masteries for her lol
