An Aravian joke has it that the only thing tougher than an angry Ogryn would be his mother. And as the elves of Aravia had to deal with Ogryn tribes for centuries, one would have to assume they know exactly what they are talking about. No less savage and freakishly strong than her more commonly seen male counterparts, the War Mother, as she is called, holds a position of unquestionable authority within her tribe. Though she is skilled at wielding a gigantic cleaver that can easily debilitate her foes, the War Mother’s knowledge of alchemy allows her to use crude but incredibly effective explosive casks in battle. Perhaps it was this innovative approach to combat that allowed this Ogress to become so successful. Renowned as a great beauty among her people, she is said to have a long line of suitors coming from among the most fearsome chieftains. Some evil tongues suggest that every single one ended up as the main course of a wedding feast without an actual wedding. Thus far, no scholar from the more civilized kingdoms risked interviewing the War Mother herself to find out the truth of the matter.

Insane legendary; especially in Arena and against wave content.
In Arena, I use her with Gaius, Kymar and Arbiter. She’s built as full nuke. Arby boosts and increases attack, speedtuned Kymar comes with the strip&sleep, Gaius places the bombs and sleeps enemies again and the slow WM comes in with the A3 nukage and bomb detonation. 1shots everything. I just obliterated a Dutchess-Ursuga-Siphi team 50k power higher than me in Gold V. As long as you go first and they don’t have enough resist, it’s impossible for anyone to survive.
I’ll definitely build the second one, in order to use 2 of them in tandem in a team with Kymar, Gaius and an ATK up champ; in order to destroy DT hard waves.
@Graywolfe, she was the worst rated just like Ma’Shalled WAS the worst lego in the game. Since her patch, she’s definitely not the worst. The best teams on Hard DT against some of the bosses use her, sometimes 2. She pairs well with other bomb champs and her A1 decrease attack seems to always hit for me. IM currently finishing masteries on her to pair with Lord Shazar and the Knight Rev bomber.
FYI, Im end game with lots of 60 champs so it all depends on your roster but she’s definitely not the worst now. I can think of at least a dozen worse, probably more.
@F1avor, cause she’s not Void. Her 100% is only 70% when attacking force affinity opponents.
Why do you need Sniper to increase chance of playing debuff by 5% when all the debuffs on her is already at 100% chance?
I just substituted her for Ghrush in level 21 FW, and even though her gear isn’t maxed out, she still did the most damage (more than Ignatius) and set a new speed record.
So I just got this one after doing some checking she appears to be the worst rated legendary in the game. Is there any reason to 6* her or should I just leave her at 5 and get her mastery filled in? I already know I am not wasting any books on her and I don’t need her for the arena so not sure what to do with her.

while after the update the bombs should detonate if champion is under increased attack buff – right?
War Mother is now a really fun champion! At least in Arena and Faction Wars. She’s just a really fun champ to use in the Arena when paired with a 2nd bomb champion. I pair her with Lord Shazar (fastest Arena Speed Lead in the game) and have her equipped in a Relentless set. When she procs Relentless she explodes up to 4 bombs between the two of them and the enemy team just drops. It’s a fun (and viable) way to play arena for Speed Runs!
With her Base Attack getting buffed above 1,500 in patch 4.7 it’s easy to get her over 5K Attack plus the 50% Atk Buff to land her A3, and now she’s got tons of Attack for her bombs. Give her Eagle Eye and she lands all her bombs on correct affinities.
She’s also good for Faction Wars speed runs and shaves off a considerable amount of time in a faction with not a ton of really high damage dealers, which is nothing to scoff off since this game eats up so much time 😉 For what she is, I like her now! How can’t you love that face? 🙂
Her changes in the update from 10/2021 require some changes in gear imho:
Gauntlets: crit% or att% or hp%
I believe she will benefit from a little more att/hp% vs crit% if you dont have high c.dmg on her.
She was better when crit hit detonated the bombs. What Spotz says – requires incr attack buff champ….l
So with the upcoming change, she *needs* to be paired with an Increase Atk champ in order for her A3 to work. She can’t self-sustain.
she hits really hard for me but i have her in att % gear and Acc, do u need acc for her bombs? or do i just stack att %?
Ah I misread the places Dec Atk, but either way, I know she’ll be a fun addition to a bomb team and I happen to have some books to spare I can throw her way 🙂
@Brandon – She takes 9 books compared to my Narma the Returned’s 16 books. Her A1 places a Dec Atk debuff, not a chance to place it. It almost guarantees she’ll keep most bosses – including the Clan Boss – crippled. Bombs completely ignore defense values, so they are a reliable source of damage against high def enemies. Her bombs also do double damage against bosses. I’ll be pairing her with Astralith and Grunch for a few different things, I think.
I don’t think you should book her unless you don’t have any other options. Even then you probably want to hold onto the books until you pull another champ. Bombs are a bit dissapointing.
Is she worth bookign fully?
@Diggs the Str8: War Mother inflicts debuffs that requires Accuracy to prevent enemies from resisting it. Debuffs includes Bombs and Decrease Attack, which War Mother could provide during battle against the opponent.
Why does War Mother need ACC ???
@bobvilla: There are too many champions to do though. The basic is concept if you feel that champion can help you in many areas in the game (not relying on waiting for the shard summoning to get the right champion), then that will help you immensely in your game progression. For instance, Spider 20 I did not have Coldheart nor HP Burn champions, so instead of waiting for the right champion to do the job, prep up the champions you have available.
@Johann: Peydma would be much more useful compared to War Mother as she is Void Affinity where she can be used in different affinity Dungeons, Campaigns and Clan Boss. She is a great Decrease Attack debuffer. Get her to 100% Critical Rate so she can apply Decrease Attack debuff on all enemies.
Should I leave her behind for Peydma (decrease attk)?

@Outkai: Warmother detonate all Bombs.
@Callum: If there are no alternative champions for Decrease Attack, then use her. Otherwise, replace her with better champions. She can be use for Bombing enemies but you will need high attack on her. Bomb does not do much damage against high HP enenmies at higher level dungeons. In addition, Bomb damage is not affected by Critical Rate and Critical Damage.
@bobvilla: You should keep those Legendary Skill Tomes for better Legendary champions. My first Legendary was Warmother too, and I still left her unbooked till today. Legendary Skill Tomes are very rare and available in events or purchased from offer packs. If you are a spender, I would recommend buying each Legendary Skill Tome at $5 USD or less during offer. Otherwise, save time for a better Legendary such as Arbiter (obtained from Progress Mission).
This is my 1st and only legendary, should I use legendary books on her?
Why is her usability situational with 10 5* ratings?
Does her A3 immediately detonate just all the bombs she placed or does it also include bombs placed by other allies too like Shazar and Astralith?

Sniper isn’t required in War Mothers masteries anymore. When she was buffed, her A1 and A2 place the debuffs rather than having a % chance of placing them.

FWIW, since it was reworked, the decrease attack debuff is no longer 50% chance. Now reads: “Attacks 1 enemy 2 times. Each hit places a 50% Decrease ATK debuff for two turns.” IMO, drastically improves viability in clan boss. I’ve been using her up through nightmare and the decrease attack pretty much stays on throughout the run.
