Vrask Review

Raid Shadow Legends – Vrask is an Epic HP Spirit affinity champion from the Orcs Faction where he can be obtained from Ancient Shards and Sacred Shards. Vrask is one of the best healing champion in the game where he has a unique passive skill that allows him to heal his allies based on his MAX HP whenever he performs a Critical Hit on an enemy! Hence, you can quickly replenish squishy champions HP quickly. When Vrask is equipped with either a Retaliation Set or Relentless Set, it allows him to perform additional hit and this increases his healing output significantly especially in a lengthy battle!

Vrask Reference

Vrask All-Rounder Build

The artifacts equipped on Vrask are optimised for Arena, Campaign, Dungeons, Doom Tower and Faction Wars content. Retaliation Set is used to enable Vrask to perform counterattack whenever the enemy hits him while Immortal Set increases Vrask base HP and provide additional healing upon reaching his turn. Everytime Vrask attacks an enemy with a Critical Hit (regardless its counterattack or non-counterattack), he heals all of his allies based on a portion of MAX HP. Hence, the stats prioritized for Vrask are high HP, Critical Rate, Speed and Resist. Resist reduces the chances of Vrask being crowd controlled or decreased his efficiency by enemies, so he can consistently perform his duties when the battle turns deadly.

  1. Enak

    Why was he declassified recently?

  2. Spotz

Blessing – I’m going to use Miracle Heal for now. Anyone wants to suggest a better one?

  3. Aaron

What blessing do you recommend for Vrask?

  4. jonathon mccue

3 sets of defiant seems to work, building a team for ice golem 25. seer, big un, bad el and maybe megla

  5. iSimpforArbiter

I like how totally bland and unappealing his A2 is compared to even his standard skill- only a little bigger dmg multiplier that’s pretty much negligible. You can switch it off everywhere and not miss out on anything. Makes one even hesitant to use books on him by fear they’ll go there lol

  6. Sparkyibew

In-game says priority stats are 4 CR and then HP chest and boots. Im confused. I have a better set of relentless then retaliation so I guess ill try that since its also recommended.

  7. LettleBoi

Are this dude need a book?

  8. Line2PK

@Vedrex86 One of the best healers of game, if you build it correctly

  9. Vedrex86

Is this guy still considered a strong healer?

  10. Bad-el Bizarre

I think it makes sense to book him, now that you can turn off his A2 attack to maximize A1 hits and turn meter boosts.

  11. NERF

This unique A1 with passive can play a big role on counter attack clan boss team. Build with 100%CR and everything else goes to HP. If you speed tuning right when every time clan boss do AOE he will get everybody’s HP back in place.

  12. Ayumilove Post author

@Nate414: Retaliation Set allows Vrask to counter-attack enemeis at a certain success rate whenever he gets hit by enemy. Each time Vrask attack, he gains Increase Turn Meter, which allows him to take more turns and healing allies multiple times during his counter-attack turns.

  13. Nate414

So why use retaliation instead of relentless? Does his A1 turn meter still proc with retaliation?

  14. Dave

@RelativeNewbie anything with crit rate. You need it for his passive otherwise there is no point

  15. RelativeNewbie

I’m not sure if this has already been asked for, but what do his Doom Tower rankings look like?

  16. RelativeNewbie

Just picked up Vrask during the “Extra Legendary” event that I didn’t bother with because it’s all a big trick. I know that he’d be fantastic in a Shield set, but what is a good 2-piece to fill out the rest? Immortal?

  17. Spam

    @Madmelon
Ironclad need to be healed to max and beyond for his passive to proc.
If Vrask can’t heal enough you need to either give him more HP, or ad additional healer to top off Ironclad

  18. Felix Javier

Can we update his rankings for Doom Tower?

  19. ColdWinter111

he kills the scarab king alone with retalation set lol

  20. TheTodmeister

@Diggs Vrask is a HP champion who’s damage scales off of HP, and his multiplier is really good for damage, and his A1 is a hitall skill, plus, you want him at 100% crit so his passive always triggers. He’s in the offensive tree because he actually does deal good damage for your party, and doesn’t have to stop doing damage to heal the party. So you actually do want him doing the damage.

He’s using the defensive tree to get to the end of that tree: Cycle of Revenge and Retribution. The first one lets him attack again quicker to group heal after a teammate has been hit hard. The second gives him the potential of counterattacking every time he gets damaged, and that means another round of healing for every counterattack he makes.

The benefits for the support tree are multiplicative, not additive, so the extra healing is minimal compared to an entire extra wave of healing from counterattacking.

  21. Madmelon

Varsk passive does not trigger Ironclad passive, why? I was gearing ironclad with stun set, hoping each turn varsk heal him with his passive will trigger ironvlad to land a AOE attack that could stun enemies, it didnt happen, so ironclad passive will only be triggered by active skill heal and not passive skill heal?

  22. Diggs the Str8

How does booking Vrask affect how often he uses his A1? Can’t I do it every turn if I want?

  23. Lady Griotte

Vrask (at leat my Vrask at lvl 40) serves mainly as a healer. Why does he not use Support (Lay on Hands, Healing Savior)? Do they not apply to him since the amount of his healing is based on his MAX HP?

  24. Ayumilove Post author

@Linepk: RAID developers introduces that skill to prevent Vrask from spamming his A1, as the team will receive a lot of AoE Healing. The A2 deals twice the damage of the A1 without Turn Meter boost based from my testing.

  25. Linepk

What exactly is skill 2 for? Does it cause more damage or is it useless? I didn’t understand this skill there lol

  26. Rishaal

    Ignore my last comment please.
I didn’t see the ascended skill.

  27. Ayumilove Post author

@Rishaal: You need to ascend Vrask (change his stars from Yellow to Purple) to unlock the additional skill benefit (heal all allies).

  28. Rishaal

    Its says “Cannibalism [Passive]
Heals all allies by 10% of his MAX HP when he inflicts a critical hit.”

But in the game it says “Cannibalism [Passive]
Heals this Champion by 10% of his MAX HP when he inflicts a critical hit.”

    Did he change?

  29. Mgwkom

    Steadfast
    Lay on hands
    Healing saviour
    Merciful aid
    Spirit haste
    Elixir of life

This is what I’m trying to build for vrask. Any input?

  30. Agostinho Silva

Get as much HP you can and 100% crit rate. Get some defense to get tankier and DONT book him. U good to go

  31. Sormyr

Do u think it’s aura of def is more valuable than a hp one in high level drag/Mino?

  32. carl

@Ayumilove: Another small question, I just received Apothecary. Should I replace Golden Reaper with him or should I still keep the team that you recommended?

(This is what you recommended: Stag Knight (Decrease Attack, Decrease Defense), Kael (AoE Damager), Golden Reaper (Increase Turn Meter, Increase Speed) and Elhain (AoE Damager))

  33. carl

@Ayumilove: Thanks a lot for your feedback and suggestion.

  34. Ayumilove Post author

@carl: For Arena Offense, I would go with Stag Knight (Decrease Attack, Decrease Defense), Kael (AoE Damager), Golden Reaper (Increase Turn Meter, Increase Speed) and Elhain (AoE Damager). Stack as much Speed Stat on Golden Reaper to make her be the first to start the turn before the enemy does. Then, Stag Knight should go next to apply the debuff. Subsequently, Elhain should apply her AoE Attack followed by Kael to wipe out the entire enemy. Kael must go last to benefit from each enemy kill for the Increase Turn Meter. You will need to Speed Tune all 4 champions to go in that order. For Arena Defense, you can use the same setup as Arena Offense (Speed Nuking Team) or a more tankier setup such as Wurlim Frostking (Lead Defense Aura), Vrask (AoE Healing), Golden Reaper (Speed Boost) and Stag Knight (Decrease Attack, Decrease Defense).

  35. Ayumilove Post author

@Z32: To progress in Clan Boss and Dungeons at end game, you will need Warmaster or Giant Slayer (Offense Tier 6 Mastery) to deal high amount of damage against enemy with high HP and defense. You can opt for Defense and Support, but you will progress much slower in the game since he does not deal much damage if relying on his ATK stat alone. In addition, the additional healing boost from Support Mastery Tree is quite little. Having Defense Mastery Tree allows Vrask to survive longer and grants more healing through Counter Attack from Retribution. The mastery recommended above is specifically tuned to handle all areas in the game (Clan Boss, Dungeons, Arena, Faction Wars) and it’s currently used by my Vrask. He is the last person standing in Faction Wars as well. I would recommend trying out the recommended masteries above first to get some experiences of how masteries work in RAID: Shadow Legends.

  36. Z32

Wouldn’t it make sense to do defense and support, that way his heals are stronger? I mean his main purpose is just to heal and be tanky, not really do damage. What is the logic to not use Support with Defense? I’m curious.

  37. Mercenary

@Guy Ridgway Yes, any crit Vrask has will activate his passive. That being said, it does not grant him the turn meter boost like his A1 does, so it is better to use his A1 always, if possible. Obviously he does use his A2 while on Auto.

  38. carl

BIG BIG fan of your work Ayumilove. I always follow your guides. One question: I am quite new to Raid so need you expert advise on my team for Arena. I have: Stag Knight, Kael, Golden Reaper, Wurlim Frostking, VRASK, Elhain and Deathless. Can you please let me know what should be my best Arena Offense and Defense teams? Thanks a lot in advance.

  39. Guy Ridgway

Is it just me or does hes Lightning strike also activate hes Passive if you watch it on Auto

  40. La_Lume

Would you say that in clan boss (and other dungeons also), if Vrask is in the team, others champions would steel need a lifesteal set for survivability or it would me more valuable to focus on their speed/offense/defense for the damage dealers and speed/accuracy for the debuffers ?

Thank you so much for your work ! That’s a wonderful ressource

  41. Ayumilove Post author

@ShalokShalom: Yes, we can use DEF flat stats on Accessories on Vrask to make him much more durable against high damage attack. However, I would stack as much HP to allow him to heal more, and he will be less likely to be targeted by single-target attackers as the AI will target low HP champions first unless he is a weak affinity to the attacker. If its against bosses (who usually does AoE) such as Clan Boss, then probably some Defense stats would be helpful there.

  42. brant jomisko

Whoever took the time to do ALL of this for every single Raid Champion I wanna say thank you so much. Your lists and hints are making it a lot easier for me and now I don’t have to waste so much time finding videos on a specific thing I’m trying to look up. It’s ALL here.

  43. ShalokShalom

    @Ayumilove

Next to the defense mastery, you can build low defense champs in general with defense on ring and amulet and hp% on chest.

This way, you mitigate the scaling issue since ring and amulet are always flat defense and most low def champs have decent hp, Gala longbraid and Warmaiden is such an example.

  44. ShalokShalom

Warmaster alone does this 1 million

  45. Sinsomniac

Has anyone ever tested the difference between relentless and retaliation sets with Vrask? I’m using relentless on him now with decent results, total damage increased by 1 to 1.4 million on hard CB compared to immortal sets (and yes, I’m well aware it’s because he also got Warmaster at the same time), but he’s not even at max level yet, he’s 6 star (fully booked other than the cooldown book on A2), but only at level 46 with no banner equipped yet… I’d be curious to see which is more worthwhile on Vrask fully geared and maxed out at max level…

  46. akiskaloz

    @mDavisJrSr
Yes at least 3 star to get whole team heals. But for him to be effective you want him lvl60 maxed, as %life gear has more value on a maxed champs, aka more base stats.

  47. mDavisJrSr

Do I have to ascend Vrask to get his heal to the whole team? The cannibalism only heals him instead of the whole team.

  48. GoreTaint

Well the equipment guide is the same for all battles, isn’t it`? So why just use one column for all battles… I don’t have the time to compare this… *hmpf*

  49. Ayumilove Post author

@Cydonia: Vrask has a low base defense (DEF) stats, and he melts like a butter when receiving high amount of incoming damage against powerful champions in Dungeons 14~20, Clan Boss (Hard, Brutal, Nightmare), and Arena Gold I~IV. In addition, most of Support masteries aims at supporting his allies but the additional healing potential is multiplicative instead of additive, which makes it not so favorable. For example, Lay on Hands provides additional 5% on top of the base heal, it is calculated as such (Vrask’s 10% MAX HP Heal multiplied by 5% is equivalent to an additional of 0.5% Heal). In total, Vrask Healing Potential is 10.5%. Assuming Vrasks has 70K HP (Level 60 fully ascended with HP% equipment), that is equivalent to 10,350 HP Healing (350 HP Heal is from Lay on Hands 0.5%, which is insignificant).

To mitigate the issue of low defense (survivability) would be to use Defense Mastery on Vrask. Having him alive longer allows him to sustain all his allies for much longer in battle. Plus, using Defense Mastery Tree (Cycle of Revenge) and (Retribution) masteries, allows him to get more attacks along the way, which assist his A1 skill “Whack” to gain additional Turn Meter boost. Coupled with Retaliation Set, he gains more attacks whenever enemies attacks him. The faster the Turn Meter fills in, he can slot himself between enemy attacks and heal the allies before the enemy can perform more rounds of AoE attacks to your allies.

Build masteries and setup equipment around the skills (A1 and his Passive Skill) to see Vrask’s effect full potential.

  50. Cydonia

Excuse me, why the defense masteries? Wouldn’t the support masteries fit his stile better, improving his HP and heals?

  51. Ayumilove Post author

@Ryboiii: Vrask should not be booked because we want him to perform more of his A1 attack that enables him to gain more Turn Meter. The more Turn Meter he gains, the more turns he can perform to Heal your entire team while dealing damage to enemies at the same time. Lightning Strike (Vrask A2) deals double damage of Whack (Vrask A1) at the cost of 20% Turn Meter. However, you can see it as a faster way to get him to Heal his allies quickly in dangerous times. Keep your Epic Skill Tomes for reducing Champion Skill Cooldown instead of raising the damage. Skill Tomes are kinda precious in this game as they are not farmable but obtainable through events or purchasing from Shop with money (P2W players) and Clan Boss (RNG based reward drops).

  52. Ayumilove Post author

@Thomas Decker: Vrask A1 “Whack” gains 20% Turn Meter whenever he delivers an attack with a Critical Hit. The more Critical attack he performs, the more Turn Meter he gains. This allows him to get another turn quickly to perform more Heals to his allies especially the ones that are really squish. This alone improves the overall survivability of your team, while inflicting damage to your enemies simultaneously. Equipping Vrask with Retalation Set enables him to achieve the desired effect as described above where whenever enemies attack Vrask, he will counter attack enemies to Heal allies when he crits using his passive skill while gaining Turn Meter. To optimized Vrask, get him to 100% Critical Rate with Critical Rate gloves or stack as much Critical Rate from substats.

  53. Ryboiii

Is Vrask worth booking at all? I feel like you’d only ever use him for the heal and 20% damage feels irrelevant if its just a 2% heal increase in most cases.

  54. Thomas Decker

Why retaliation, he doesn’t heal on retaliation attacks. Or am I missing something?

  55. Ayumilove Post author

@StormWolf: 2 Vrasks is viable for Faction Wars if you do not have any other better Orc champions to fill in the slot (Crowd Control, Support, Damage Dealer).

  56. StormWolf

is it viable to use 2 Vrasks on a faction wars team?
The heals will be overkill and may allow to reach stage 21?

  57. Ayumilove Post author

@Shaldares: As a healer, Vrask heals much faster and much more compared to Thenasil and Zelotah after testing the champions out. Ratings shown here are extracted in-game may not reflect the true potential of the champion. I’ll revised all the Champion’s Ratings once I’m done with their masteries.

  58. Shaldares

Why is he rated S when there are A champions rated higher than him? (e.g. Thenasil, Zelotah) Would one of these champions be better overall than him?
