Vogoth Review

Vogoth is an Epic HP Spirit affinity champion from Undead Hordes faction in Raid Shadow Legends. Vogoth was released in Patch 3.20 on January 2021. He is a versatile tanker who has the ability to crowd control enemies and support allies with his healing capabilities.

Vogoth’s Wave of Revulsion (A2 Skill) allows him to provoke enemies to attack him. This synergizes with his Festering Dynamo passive skill that heals all allies based on the damage he received! This makes Vogoth one of the best candidate, especially for Bommal the Dreadhorn in Doom Tower and Arena Defense Team. Vogoth has a second passive skill Eerie Presence that automatically applies Leech debuff on enemies who attack him! This allows your allies to heal themselves by attacking the enemy with Leech debuff. This also gives you an option to swap Lifesteal Set with Stalwart Set for more survivability. Plus, he can also extend debuff duration with his Horrendous Strength (A1 Skill), which makes him awesome for Clan Boss when paired with champions who inflict Poison, Decrease Attack, Decrease Defense and Weaken debuff.

Overall, Vogoth is an excellent all-rounder champion for most content in the game! He is a solid investment in fortifying your team survivability against heavy nuke damage from enemies.

Vogoth

This section covers Vogoth’s build specialized for specific areas in Raid Shadow Legends.

Vogoth All-Rounder Build

Here is Vogoth’s artifacts and masteries by Ayumilove optimized for all content in the game such as Clan Boss, Dungeons, Faction Wars and Doom Tower Normal. Vogoth is equipped in Lifesteal Set to allow him to replenish is health whenever he tanks the damage from the enemies he provoked. The stats to prioritize in this build are Health, Accuracy, Speed and Critical Rate. Vogoth needs a high amount of Health to tank the damage especially against enemies who deals high amount of damage! Accuracy is essential to enable Vogoth to apply his Leech and Decrease Attack debuff as well as Increasing the Debuff duration! Critical Rate is a must for Vogoth to allow him to heal from his attacks if you do not have any dedicated healers to pair with him, especially for Faction Wars content. It’s recommended to have at least 50K HP, 2000 Defense and 225 Accuracy to make him versatile for most early-mid game content. You can then raise up these stats based on the quality of your gears found from your dungeon farming! The mastery selected for Vogoth are Offense and Defense master tree as I was making him tankier for Clan Boss and Faction Wars Stage 21 stage clearance.

Vogoth Dreadhorn Tank Build

Here is Vogoth’s artifacts and masteries by Ayumilove optimized for countering Bommal the Dreadhorn in Doom Tower Hard Floor 90. Vogoth is equipped in Regeneration Set and Immortal Set to enable him to replenish his health significantly upon taking his turn. The stats to prioritized on Vogoth are Health, Defense, Speed and Critical Rate. It’s recommended to have approximately 70~80K Health, 2800~3200 Defense and 170~190 Speed for Doom Tower Hard to allow him to tank the damage dealt by the Dreadhorn and Dreadbombs! Critical Rate is nice to have to speed up clearing the first 2 waves of enemies before the boss. If you do not have decent quality of Regeneration Set, the alternative would be to have at least 2~3 Immortal Set on Vogoth. Guardian Set does not work well for Vogoth against Dreadhorn as he will take up too much damage mitigated from his allies, resulting in instant death. If you are using 2 or more Vogoth in a team, the Vogoth in the last position is recommended to have Defense mastery instead of Support mastery, as his passive healing works on allies in front of him when he receive damage from enemies. For this build, this Vogoth is used on the last position to gain additional healing from other Vogoth on the second Dreadbomb AoE damage as the first Dreadbomb AoE damage is not counted when Vogoth is in full health.

Vogoth Champion Lore

The dead do not rest easy in cursed earth. There can be no peace where the soil is steeped in madness and spite. Especially for one whose bones bear the taint of an unholy malediction. Such a being is Vogoth the Accursed.

Once a mighty knight in service to the Banner Lords of Kaerok, Vogoth is now a lumbering, lurching pustule of necromantic foulness… a decaying hulk, whose very presence causes the waters to sour and the trees to wither.

Centuries ago, Vogoth served his lord faithfully and well, facing enemies both on and off the battlefield. For him there was no greater glory than in a deed honorably done or an innocent life preserved. But even the most heroic of warriors has enemies.

It is said by some that an honorable warrior is an asset on the battlefield and a hindrance everywhere else. Such was the case with Vogoth. He disapproved of the fierce politicking of the court of Kaerok, and unwittingly hindered his lord’s attempts to increase his own influence at the cost of others, on more than one occasion. Finally, Vogoth’s lord decided to dispense with his services. But he could not simply dismiss the knight, and risk Vogoth joining a rival’s retinue. Nor could he simply have him killed, for there were those who might suspect the truth and use it for their own ends. Instead, Vogoth’s end had to look like an accident… death by misadventure.

So, Vogoth was dispatched to the Gasping Mire, where a nest of Undead were said to be lurking. The nearby villages had long begged their lord to end the threat of the dead things in the swamp, and they were overjoyed by Vogoth’s arrival. The knight was accompanied by a group of eleven of his lordship’s handpicked men; stalwart warriors, who could be counted on to accomplish the task alongside him.

Twelve men went into the mire. But only eleven returned. It was claimed that Vogoth had died ending the Undead threat, and though there were some who questioned that, none did so within earshot of his lord. Within days of the knight’s funeral, in which an empty coffin was buried with all honors, the matter was all but forgotten. A fortnight later, Vogoth returned. But not as a man. As something foul and rotten. Something in search of vengeance.

Now, this blighted creature looms over his opponents, a towering slab of boil-encrusted meat. His cursed corpus is caught in a cycle of eternal decay, never fully rotting away, ever-expanding with unhallowed miasmas that vent from his ruptured skin with every swing of his rusty halberd. His once-handsome features are now a swollen mass hidden beneath a beatific helm, and his armor is a clattering mass of warped plates and broken straps, barely able to contain his bloated physique. The courageous battle-cries that once escaped his lips are now little more than gurgling groans, and he marches not for honor or glory, but to bring pain to the living.

Vogoth has been destroyed more than once, often by knights of Kaerok or warriors of the Sacred Order. But within a fortnight of any defeat, he rises once more from the pestilent marshes where he died, eager to resume his unending war on the living.

If there is a way of permanently ending Vogoth’s cursed existence, no one has yet discovered it. And until someone does, Vogoth will continue to wage war on those whom he once sought to protect.

@Joseph Garrison I still use Vogoth in my UNM CB team. His leach is 100% landed in every round since it is triggered by damage hit received from the boss (of course need enough accuracy). He is also healing the ally by the amount damage received by him.

  2. Ayumilove Post author

@Joseph Garrison: If you have difficulty clearing Bommal the Dreadhorn Hard difficulty, then Vogoth can help you there by healing allies based on a portion of the amount of damage received.

  3. Joseph Garrison

JUST pulled him on my level 94 account. Does he have a place in today’s game?

  4. DuckSauce33

    No recommend Curing set? 0.0

  5. MadVlad

I see no mention of a Deflection Set. He seems to be the champ that could take the hits AND deflect the random Bommel Bomb back onto Bommel to good effect.

  6. Jesse Ribbey

As for Vogoth using the attack mastery, I can see no reason for this except how you were explaining him getting heals from leech with the warmaster or giant slayer. Do these heals outweigh the “pro’s” you would get from the Defense mastery tree and if possible could you explain in more detail how those heals from the attack mastery work? Also with everyone touching on positioning, I as well, playing for a year did not realize that it mattered beyond the lead champion. Doesn’t each champion’s speed override this and would always go in order of your champions’ speeds and not the position in the line-up?

  7. ALL THE HP'S ARE BELONG TO VOGOTH!

To the guy that said “he has enough hp “it’s late game” that’s why crit on gauntlets”.

Unsurprisingly you took your name from one of the most obnoxious characters in history, anyways moving on.

No. Nope. I have 2 fully built vogoth and was thinking about a third, and health isn’t something that hits diminishing returns like defense. You should be like oil tycoon greedy except instead of oil and money you’re greedy for HP. HP% gloves, chest, boots. Hp% multiroll on weap/helm/shield. Flat hp stats on weapon and shield a bonus (perhaps only champ in the game I’d say that for). Hp ring with multi roll hp%. Hp amulet. Hp banner with multiple hp% roll. ALL THE HITPOINTS ARE BELONG TO VOGOTH! 100k hp is rookie numbers. Vogoth wants to become the first trillionaire…of hp. Also billionaire and millionaire, clearly.

**rambling tangent**(In terms of eHP (effective hp) in regards to healing that’s another story, but luckily at least in raid most heals are percentage based instead of flat. Having flashbacks of WoW raid tanks that built pure hp being hit for like max damage every hit and healers going oom trying to heal them since the tank has no mitigation lol. eHP ratios are no joke)

  8. Jan nielsen

hi can you help me with my team it should like to pass to pioson and Decrease.or nuk. but poison must be the first element about team. I have some pictures of my players. but can you explain a little about Torgi the frog. have keal lol. max. Roxam .. has most nice. and some good enough epic. nuk. and thanks for the last explanation helped really well. it would be easier to send the 5 pictures of the players I have so it is easier to say which ones I should work on

  9. Brian

Concerning a 2 Vogoth Bommel team, wouldn’t it be better if at least one bommel had defense AND healing masteries instead of defense/attack or healing/attack? That way one or both vogoth get those added healing perk masteries

  10. Jan nielsen

  12. brad

@mario_awario if you have good guardian set pieces then yes, that set is one of the best for clan boss. That said, the stats are very important too so don’t sacrifice too many stats if the pieces aren’t good.

  13. mario_awario

Guys, I’m trying to build a 1-key Brutal CB team without unkillable and team retaliation. My current plan is to have Scyl, Vogoth, Geomancer, Frozen Banshee, Dhukk the Pierced. Might swap a bit, because i’m still working them to 60, booking and so on.
Question: Is it worth to use guardian set on Vogoth for this setup?

  14. Jack

Ayumi, even in long battles curing set increases the amount he heals himself too, I personally use curing and immortal, and he just wont die.

  15. Ayumilove Post author

@Kingly: Curing Set increases the healing potential of Vogoth through his passive skill, which is great against AoE nuke champions in Arena (short battles). However, for lengthy battles such as raiding bosses, I would go with other sets such as Immortal and Regeneration to provide him with a way to sustain himself in battle, especially when you do not have a reviver on the team.

  16. Kingly

Hey, love the site its been a great help. What are your thoughts on Vogoth in a Curing set?

  17. Earl

I find it interesting that he’s listed as 4 stars for Arena defense. Hell Hades says he is incredible in arena defense. Perhaps this should be revisited.

  18. Michael scott

He already seems to have enough hp with the other artefacts.
This is a late game build, that’s why he goes for crit rate on gauntlets

  19. YunJ

Why crit rate gloves? Seems like hp% would be better?

  20. Siegfried

    @cryonisis

“-If an enemy champion does an AOE attack against your team, he does not attack every champion at the same time. He will attack your lead, then the second champion, the third, ect…”

So last place means this champ gets attacked last and will heal the damage done to the others by that attack.

Also matters for Counter attack and Ally attack order.

  21. Ayumilove Post author

@cryonisis: When you are adding champions to the team for battle, you will notice the champion will be added in a certain order. For example, select one of the Dungeon (e.g. Ice Golem) and pick 5 random champions.

    The sequence of champions added:
    1. First champion will be added to the leader position.
    2. Second champion will be added to the top right corner.
    3. Third champion will be added to the bottom right corner.
    4. Forth champion will be added to the top left corner.
    5. Finally, fifth aka last champion will be added to the bottom left corner.

The fifth position is the last position in the team for any battle apart from Arena and Tag Team Arena.

For Arena and Tag Team Arena, it will be only 4 slots/positions that can be filled, and the last one would be the far left slot.

Team positioning plays an important role in increasing your team survivability, especially difficult content that requires a lengthy battle (e.g. Bommal the Dreadhorn, Clan Boss, etc)

  22. cryonisis

    @ayumilove
Could you elaborate on “Vogoth in the last position is recommended to have Defense mastery … this build, this Vogoth is used on the last position…”?

After a year of playing I was unaware that, besides leader, positioning in the team had any sort of relevancy!

  23. Ayumilove Post author

@LinePK: Lay on Hands improves Vogoth’s “Festering Dynamo” healing efficiency to all allies that he heals including himself.

  24. LinePK

The mastery Lay On Hands, increase his heal?

  25. Jestafool88

Has anyone tried a guardian set on him? It seems like more damage he could take he would heal more and then also pull damage away from ally’s.

  26. Svraka

wouldnt taunt set be usefull on him?

  27. hw

@relaxz If clan boss can’t kill any champion, two vogoth will fully heal whole team, isn’t this kind of unkillable team.

  28. relaxz

They do heal each other. However, I found the usecase difficult. Even with different masteries (ATK &DEF) the damage is not so high. So bringing two sacrifies the possibility of another champion

  29. hw

can two vogoth heal each other when hit by AOE?

  30. Ben

    @Ayumilove – Thank you kindly.

  31. Ayumilove Post author

@Ben: Leech debuff works similarly to having your champion equipped in Lifesteal Set. It allows your champions to heal themselves whenever they performed an attack on the target/enemy that has the Leech debuff. The healing value depends on the amount of damage dealt to the enemy. For example, if your champion dealt 1000 damage to the enemy, then 18% of the damage dealt is converted to health. This same applies to Warmaster and Giant Slayer (Tier 6 Offense Mastery) too! Leech debuff benefits champions who is able to deal high amount of damage but its also applicable to Support champion who has the Tier 6 Offense Mastery.

  32. Ben

Could someone explain how leech works?
Is the healing amount due to dmg done by other champions?

  33. Ben

@travis – What gear do you have him set up with?

  34. relaxz

Hey, did somebody try running 2 Vogoth?`
Could be funny as they heal each other + the team…

  35. Meatpuppet

    How’s giant slayer on him???

  36. Travis

So glad I found this site. After reading everything I decided to start focusing on Vogoth and he completely changed the game for me. Single handledly took me an extra 12 levels higher in doom tower, and allows me to now almost just one key nm clan boss. And hes still only rank 5 right now.

  37. Kkaaiin

guardian set doesnt work/stack with vogoth…. was wondering what was going on with his healing since i got him as he would only heal himself based only on his set bonus. it sucks since i wanted to test a bunch of things similar to the set bonus. it might not stack/work due to the mastery talent in def tree.

  38. JohanQ

Hello, ayumi… Upgraded to 60 and Guardian set is perhaps one that best fits this champion… fyi

    Thanks for this great website!

  39. Perico

Great with Retaliation and Perception Sets. He puts leech on everyone who attacks him and counterattacks, healing back and extending leech.
I’m playing with it on my FTP account and he is a great support champion.

  40. Zabzab

    BONJOUR!

Comme je suis une mauvaise élève, je n’avais pas pris le temps de te remercier pour le superbe travail que tu as effectué, c’est incroyable… Je viens de temps à autre prendre des renseignement, forts judicieux, alors je tenais à te remercier…
    Bonne continuation!

  41. Madang

I’ve already rank up this guy to 6 star, level 60…he perform very very good…its not important about his damage multiplier,..what most important is..he can extend buff and keeping all team alive.. I can manage him to beat boss in doom tower too… like white spider, green spider, gay crab..etc.

  42. Murtacos

    @Begone!

I’d wager the offense tier is mostly for Giant Slayer, so he does decent CB and Dungeon Boss damage, but also his A1 and A2 heal him a decent amount with Lifesteal gear and Life Drinker. Kill Streak doesn’t really work for him but it’s the only way to get to Giant Slayer that makes sense. Plus Giant Slayer will help his A1 heal him more. Everything else in Support is obviously to help debuffs land, though. Plus the modifiers on the attacks being so low isn’t really a problem. I don’t have that great of gear on him and he currently has almost 60k hp.

And as @Chukku mentioned, he allows you to take Lifesteal gear off other champs without them losing survivability. His team healing is nuts. Helps loads with opening up options for better gear against CB

  43. Begone!

I do not understand the mastery OFFENSE and SUPPORT for Campaign, Clan Boss, Dungeons. Vogoth’s damage is HP-based, but with extremely low multipliers: A1 has 0.07 HP, and A2 has 0.2 HP… That is like… almost nothing. So I understand his role to land debuffs as much and as fast as possible – thus SPEED and PERCEPTION sets make sense. The only thing that will land some damage is Giant Slayer because he hits three times on his A1, but that is basically it.
Like to hear other’s opinions about this, what do you think?

  44. ThanosG

Does Vogoth’s passive heal benefits from masteries that enhance healing? I want him for frost spider bosses that deal a ton of dmg to my roster.

  45. Chukku

I just brought him in my CB Team today.
He is really awesome here.. now I can start to rip off the Lifesteal gear from my Champs and equip them with something better.
The only thing that’s absolutely annoying: his AI keeps using his A2 in CB which is just a wasted turn because it does absolutely nothing (Decrease Attack doesn’t land, because CB can’t be provoked). I would much rather just have him spamming his A1 for the debuff extension and better chance for Giantslayer proccs.
Well.. maybe the AI will be fixed in 12-18 months 😉

  46. ArcticF0X

Would Toxic set not be a good option for Clan Boss?

  47. jeff halfhide

Thanks for all your work, pretty much one stop shopping for Raid. Vogoth also has an aura of accuracy.

  48. True

@Darren yes he does need accuracy. Text need to include “cannot be resisted” to not need accuracy (those who deal all poison dmg instantly are weird 😛 )

  49. Darren

Does his leech require accuracy for it to lqnd when he is hit? I assume it does….
