Tyrant Ixlimor Champion Lore

Alongside the Dungeon of Torments, the Hellfire Wastes is one of the most infamous regions of Anathraad, the dreaded realm ruled over by the Shadow God, Siroth. A place of sulfur, brimstone, and undying fire, it is among the most prominent parts of Anathraad in many mortal stories, a seat of eternal punishment. Less well known is the fact that for many centuries its ruler was also its prisoner.

Ixlimor was one of Siroth’s Firstborn Demonspawn. Strong, boastful, and redolent with pride, he led and fought in the vanguard of the armies of darkness and won many great victories. He soon began to grow disillusioned, however, when a more senior Demonspawn general, Mortu-Macaab, received much of the plaudits and reaped the rewards. Ixlimor became jealous, and started clashing openly with Mortu-Macaab, demanding he be shown what he thought of as respect befitting his success. When Mortu-Macaab passed off his anger as childish and petty, he only grew more enraged.

Ixlimor decided to challenge Mortu-Macaab for his position of generalship, preparing in secret for the duel he knew would ensue once he declared it. Siroth learned of all things that passed within his realm, and soon came to know of Ixlimor’s intentions, but did nothing to intervene. The Shadow God prized strength in all matters, and Ixlimor’s upstart attitude was just the thing to keep Mortu-Macaab focused and aware that his station was not inviolable.

The challenge was issued, and the two great Demons met in combat before the gaze of Siroth and much of the twisted nobility of Anathraad, out on the Sundered Plains. Long and vicious was the battle, both combatants venting their frustrations and their hatred on one another. Mortu-Macaab’s station was well won, however, and try as he might, Ixlimor could not get the better of him. He was defeated, cast down and broken, brutalized by the pounding of Mortu-Macaab’s fists and the gouging of his great horns.

The pain of Ixlimor’s injuries was nothing compared to the pain of knowing that he had lost. Anathraad’s hierarchy was built on aggression and strength, and failure was to be abhorred. Ixlimor fell immediately from Siroth’s favor and, on the Shadow God’s orders, was cast out. He was banished to the Hellfire Wastes, a place of eternal, ethereal flames and barren, razor-sharp rock, inhabited only by the most desperate, lesser Demonspawn.

Long did Ixlimor wander amid the flames, their rage and heat slowly seeping into his very soul. The fires healed his wounds and blackened his flesh. Some say they helped ensure that his fury never faded. As his strength returned, he embarked on a fresh campaign. If he could not lead Siroth’s grand armies, he would at least become the ruler of the benighted place he had been banished to. After mastering the flames and bending them to his will, he set out to secure the fealty of the Demonic imps, sprites, and outcasts consigned to the Hellfire Wastes. Their first allegiance would always be to Siroth, but after that it would be Ixlimor — now styling himself as Tyrant — whom they would obey.

Ixlimor’s efforts proved successful, and the denizens of the Wastes now bow before him. Siroth has long been aware of Ixlimor’s activities, and it may be that they please him. While banishment seemed a fittingly harsh punishment at the time, Siroth always looks to push the boundaries of his underlings, and some members of his Demonic court whisper that the Shadow God hopes being cast out will allow Ixlimor to recover his strength and purpose, and become greater than he was before. Certainly, if that is Siroth’s intention, he seems to have succeeded. An army of Demonspawn outcasts and lesser creatures of Anathraad now follows Ixlimor’s every command, and it appears that the Tyrant is just biding his time until he marches from the Wastes and demands his banishment be lifted. There is little doubt he will then once more challenge Mortu-Macaab for greatness. Some believe that his fiery need for vengeance goes even further, and that one day there will be a reckoning between the Tyrant of the Hellfire Wastes and Siroth himself.

  1. Daff

Lore of steel is a good choice if you put him in perception for example.

  2. Cobra

Tyrant is an incredible legendary! Excellent for spiders and hydra, deals a heck of a lot of damage with his HP burn. Completed nightmare campaign with him and brogni!

  3. RobDaHood2

It would seem to me that Lore of Steel is a waste of a mastery on a champ that does not use 15% artifacts. I see this a lot though, so is there any specific reason to go with this one?

  4. Nate

I feel like his AI needs some help. It doesn’t seem like he uses the HP burn when fighting solo bosses. This is really detrimental with the frost spider, but his passive means that your team takes a lot more damage. Has anyone else noticed this?

  5. Niko

My tyrant is messed up. I got it before I started watching the videos of it or this website…because it was my first leggo and I got too excited. Now i’ve spent the last 3 weeks farming enough silver to switch things around. luckily I had not done the masteries until today. Going attack/support. I’m looking forward to when I progress further and get better items to put on it as well as enough books to book it correctly. Btw, I pulled this with a void shard.

  6. kaevin76

I am also curious why we recommend straight HP/DEF and no Crit stats? I built mine before reading this and have standard crit gear on gauntlets and amulet. Should I swap them to DEF and why?

  7. fso86

my first leggo, really great champion, one of the best legendaries in the game.

  8. Zak

When fighting against magic affinity NM CB, I found out that Tyrant didn’t use his A3 when he has def up and ally protect (although other champs buff already expired).
It only happens when fighting against magic affinity NM CB, void working fine for me.

  9. Tzar

Confirming: A2 is working properly on CB regardless of the damage percentage. It no longer needs to be used on manual. Full Auto is golden!

  10. plumpsack

Okay after taking out master hexer the problem was still there … and yeah got it now.

They gave his A2 prio over his A3, but if the Cb already has 10 Debuffs on him. He doesnt use his A2.

So 10 Debuffs on his designated A2 turn will delay it and the next turn when is supposed to use his A3 he will use his A2 and your teams dies without ally protect/inc Def.

    gg

  11. plumpsack

Okay i took out Master Hexer. Iam running this comp for months now always worked.
But something strange keeps happening even without Master Hexer … he not using his a2 anymore if the CB already has 10 debuffs …
And the next turn he gives a2 prio over his a3 for whatever reason … the moment he should use his a3 only ally protect from skullcrusher is up nothing else … he was fine for me even without his a2, but the way he is now i cant use him in cb anymore …

  12. plumpsack

He is not working fine for me, he uses his a2 when the CB is low yeah.
But he doesn´t use it anymore if there CB already has a HP burn debuff.
So if Master hexer procs we wont cast it the next time around which thows off the entire run due to missing dmg reduction.

@ranc007: Tyrant’s A1 skill can only heal from the damage his skill inflicts and not the damage from Warmaster or Giant Slayer.

  14. Ayumilove Post author

@kenneth: Tyrant’s HP Burn is fixed in Patch V3.00 based on the Patch Notes 3.00 – You can help test him out if he is working as expected 🙂

  15. Ayumilove Post author

@Tzar: Plarium has released a patch V3.00 that fixes Tyrant Ixlimor’s A2 Skill “Hellfire Torrent” in Clan Boss. Could you help try it out and let us know if its now working as how you’ve expected 🙂

  16. _Totoro_

Pullet my second Tyrant Ixlimor right now from a Ancient Shard.
Who also has two and tried them out together?
My first one is build with CB mastery, may I work out the second with Arena mastery.

  17. Tzar

I only wanted to share a small finding about Tyrant’s A2 ability with CB. When I pair him with a heal reduction champion, and the heal reduction is placed, Tyrant will use his A2 on Auto 100%. I’ve tested this function time and time again and it always delivers.

  18. arveTR

@ranc007 according to 5.40 of the sir jaxo’s tutorial, it doesn’t include warmaster ;/

  19. ranc007

Can his a1 heal from Warmaster damage or just from the damage the a1 itself does?

  20. shalazar888

Hi all, why are not required gauntlets with CRIT RATE? is really not necessary on this hero?
    Thanks

  21. kenneth

Any word on his auto HP burn getting fixed? Mostly thinking for CB on auto

  22. Chris M Spotts

Probably the single best hero for the HP burns strat on spider. Can keep HP burn on 100% of the time without jumping through hoops and helps everybody stay alive through it.

  23. Lash

I really like this champ, he’s really useful in nearly all contents of the game but Honestly, he doesn’t deserve his 5 stars for clan boss. Yeh Manually, he’s a must and with allies prot and def up, is really good BUT in Auto, this bad coding where he doesn’t put his Burn HP on the boss if the later is under 75% life is just… MEH.

Maybe in a team with counter attack, he’s still a bit worthy but if you use him for not only his def buff but also is damage, you clearly loose to much. So I think, it’s more of a 4*. He’s very good, but he has a very bad auto on cb.

The only solution is to hit the CB before your clanmates at the reset or manually but yeah… 15min hum well haha ^^

@Opium, I run him with bad-el and lifesteal so nearly always 100% life and he just doesn’t do his HP burn if the boss is under 75% life.

  24. Opium

It looks like he makes his A2 buffs then A1 healing himself up a priority over HP burn. If you have a good healer and/or shield, he consistently puts HP burn on CB.

  25. reeko

    Stalwart is good on him

  26. JonyJoned

I mean he can be used without lifesteal gear in a counter set up. cause his A1 will heal him everytime if the boss is under hp burn. so you can use other type of gear on him

  27. Ryyft

Any word on his auto HP burn getting fixed?

  28. Magnus47

@Jacob – Two things happen when you try to land a Debuff. The first thing is making the roll for the percentage chance to proc. With 100% chance it will always proc, but after that the target still has a chance to Resist the effect. Higher Accuracy has a better chance to overcome the Resistance of the target. If it was only the 100% chance that determined everything then you would be right, but targets always have a chance to Resist. If you have a Champion that only has Buffs and no Debuffs you don’t need Accuracy. Otherwise, it is probably the 2nd best stat in the game behind Speed.

  29. Jacob

If booked fully, you wont need alot of accuracy because it has a 100 percent chance to land?

  30. Ayumilove Post author

@faho: The mastery is setup for both Clan Boss and Dungeons. Evil Eye is useful to decrease the Turn Meter of the Dungeon’s minions (first and second stages before the Boss).

  31. R54vy23

I’ve used him on auto on CB and have had hp burn land. Looks like the bug maybe fixed?

  32. faho

I’m not sure about Evil Eye on clan boss masteries

  33. Talaam

his passive is very strong reducing damage all allies take when the cb is on hp burn, so sad he still don’t use his hp burn in auto even after 1 month !

  34. Talaam

His passive reduce damage takken by all allies?

  35. Al

Ka, you are correct. The bug is confirmed: I just witnessed this during the CA attack. Switching to manual control is the only way to trigger the HP burn.

  36. Ka

Just as a heads up to everyone, Tyrant is currently bugged for Clan Boss! He does not use his HP Burn skill on Clan Boss on auto, if Clan Boss has less then 70% hp. Makes him mostly useless for CB on auto, until Plarium fixes his AI.
