Sethallia Review

Sethallia, a Legendary Support Magic affinity champion from the Banner Lords in Raid Shadow Legends, is often overlooked by players, but she shouldn’t be. She has a kit that makes her a versatile and useful champion to have on any team. Her a1 is especially feared by Sorath the Frost Spider in the Doom Tower because of her constant HP burn.

Not only is she great in Doom Tower, but Sethallia also shines in Spider’s Den with her HP burn and ability to manipulate the turn meter. Her supporting kit, including her heal and the ability to remove enemy buffs, makes her valuable in waves of dungeons as well. Turn meter manipulation is also a crucial part of clearing waves of enemies, as the fewer turns they have, the more damage your team can do.

Sethallia may not have the flashiest abilities, but her kit is incredibly well-rounded. She’s an excellent choice for any team looking to improve their survivability and damage output. Her A2 also provides a Shield and Debuff Immunity to an ally, which can be incredibly helpful in keeping your team alive during difficult battles.

Overall, Sethallia is an underrated champion that players should be pleased to have summoned. She may not be the most exciting champion, but her versatility and ability to adapt to any situation make her a valuable addition to any team.

Sethallia Champion Lore

Before the Kingdom of Kaerok there were the Free Cities, fiercely independent and proud. Sethallia, ruler of the Free City of Landsrell, was more farsighted than most. She had served as an envoy to the Elven nation of Aravia and seen what their tightly unified kingdom had accomplished. She had read the histories of the ancient Dragonkin Empire and learned of the centuries of peace and plenty that had come from their centralized rule. While the tyranny of the Dragon Emperors repelled her, she concluded that they became tyrants due to preventable factors. Her interpretations were colored by her sharp distaste, expressed only privately, for the other Free Cities and their lords, who cared more about personal status and grudges than the common good. She believed a lord’s notion of commonweal must extend not only to their subjects, but to their rivals’ subjects, for the people of Kaerok shared so many cultural and spiritual bonds. The freedom of the Free Cities she saw as foolish, for the price of their freedom was division and thus weakness.

A series of catastrophic events proved some of the merits of her views. A Free City was nearly destroyed by rampaging Skinwalkers. Later, disaster unfolded at the Council of Narbuk, a conclave intended to ease tensions and mend rifts between branches of the Church of Lumaya. Sethallia, always a believer in unity, listened eagerly for news from the Council, expecting a new age of peace and tolerance to emerge. Instead, a chaotic schism unfolded when certain delegates were allegedly assassinated during a recess after one heated exchange. Hardliners from the Sacred Order and the Free Cities took control of the Council and declared, among other strict and inflammatory decrees, that Skinwalkers were to be universally abhorred and destroyed as servants of Darkness. In the wake of this, savage purges occurred all over Kaerok. Sethallia had always sympathized with Skinwalkers, viewing them as victims of a curse and not monsters, and was disgusted by the Council’s verdict. But her voice of calm and reason was not enough to control the rising tide of hatred. While blood flowed in the streets and the lords plotted how best to exploit the chaos for their own gain, Sethallia saw even greater troubles brewing and prepared Landsrell for long years of hardship, stockpiling grain and recruiting troops. Others called her paranoid.

Sethallia was right again. The repercussions of the debacle at the Council took time to propagate, but like an avalanche triggered by a distant quake, backlash was inevitable. The Council’s verdict had been an affront to the Church in Frostheim, which had long ago integrated Skinwalkers into their canon, deeming them part of Lumaya’s divine plan regardless of the origins of their curse. The Free Cities found themselves under lightning attack from the north as Frostheim warriors and their Orc auxiliaries poured across their borders. The lords of Kaerok’s Free Cities were largely unconcerned with culture and politics outside their realm, and so failed to realize exactly how high the tension on their border had been ratcheted. They paid dearly for this.

As the northernmost cities fell, many lords saw the chaos as a gainful opportunity. Many paid off the invaders, creating a bidding war whose loser was overwhelmed and sacked without assistance from the others, enriching and empowering the Frostheim coalition in the process. The Free Cities were defeated in detail, and Sethallia’s warnings finally gained credibility. The lords styled themselves knights, but they had no leader to rally them all together and direct their strength toward the true threats that surrounded them. Long and grinding years of war and raiding passed while the Free Cities slowly coordinated a coherent defense. Landsrell, fortified and prepared, withstood wave after wave of attacks, proving to be a keystone in the defense of the realm overall. If Sethallia’s realm had fallen, the unity of the others would likely have disintegrated and Kaerok as a polity would have ended then and there. Instead, she endured, rallying support from the flagging lords, until the man emerged who godfathered the Kingdom of Kaerok as a new political entity: Acelin the Stalwart.

If Acelin, first King of Kaerok and Knight of Knights, was the godfather, Sethallia must be accounted the godmother. Due to the evolving contours of the war she could not coordinate extensively with Acelin, and met him only once, at his coronation. But she was one of his first and greatest advocates. Respected for her foresight, she helped justify Acelin’s growing consolidation of power. Acelin went on to unite the Free Cities and drive the Frostheimers back, establishing borders of Kaerok that have persisted more or less unchanged through the present. He later entered into a political marriage as part of the process of rebuilding Frostheim and Kaerok’s relationship — a fact that was said to have left Sethallia quietly heartbroken.

@Campa: Champions who has the ability to strip away (aka remove buffs) are able to remove buffs from a champion including Stone Skin buff, provided they have sufficient Accuracy to overcome the Resistance on the target. However, Stone Skin set has the ability to block buff removals or buff steals at a 50% success rate. You can find more details regarding Stone Skin set and other artifacts/accessories in this page: https://ayumilove.net/raid-shadow-legends-artifact-and-accessory-guide/

  2. Campa

Question: can someone confirm whether or not Sethallia’s buff strip removes stoneskin?

If it doesn’t, I don’t think she’s worth 5 stars in Classic Offense or Defense, considering the current meta.

    Thanks Ayumi!

  3. Ayumilove Post author

@Campa: If you need a lot of Accuracy stats, then you can equip an Accuracy chest along with Accuracy banner while using Accuracy/Perception Set, which boosts her Accuracy significantly and helpful for Arena, Hydra, and Hard Mode Doom Tower. The mastery recommended earlier is mainly for PvE. Maybe I’ll add in a PvP mastery for her that uses Eagle-Eye.

  4. Campa

Why not accuracy on her chest?
Doesn’t she need accuracy to remove the debuffs or stone skin from high res teams?

Along those lines, why not Eagle eye as the 6th mastery?

Best raid site ever, Ayumi! Thank you!

  5. RTB

Any advice on what Blessings to work towards for Sethallia?

While you’re at it, why not add a Blessings section to all of the RSL characters.

One of the best sites for all my RSL needs, keep up the good work!

@Ayumilove: I was surprised to see your response, so thank you.

Considering my Hydra teams are very much “lacking”, lol, I am sure Sethallia can help. I have lots of good champs, but not the time to figure out 3 teams that synergize well together against the different heads.

My main focus is getting my Tag teams set up to get into G1 for the future mission, currently in S2. The plan is for Sethallia to be part of my second “go 2nd” team. (Kyoku lead, Sethallia, Magnarr, Sandlashed) With that in mind, wouldn’t it be better to go defense and support for her masteries? Her A1 has a nice 5.4 multiplier, but with stat focus of HP, Def, Sp, and Acc, Offense tree is probably not optimal. What are your thoughts?

@Raider808: It’s really easy to identify whether a hero will be useful for your Hydra team or any particular team in general (e.g. Dragon, Ice Golem, Spider, Fire Knight). Identify what your team is lacking. Does your team need a cleanser to remove debuff? If yes, would it be beneficial for having a single-hero cleansing or AoE cleansing? Does any of your heroes in your team depend on HP Burn debuff to improve their damage output or be able to spread debuff? Alternatively, check out the Faction Wars or Doom Tower enemy formation. The game developers drops some hints there on how to setup a powerful team formation synergizing Sethallia to give players an idea on how to use her too if you’re able to pick it up 🙂

First post, thanks Ayumi for your work on this site, it has been a great help.

    Anyone use Sethallia in Hydra?
Clan mate pointed out how all her skills would help, and he was going to use her there. I never build mine but thought to use her on a Tag Arena team. Now I think she could really be helpful against the Hydra head that steals our buffs, to go along with her cleanse and healing.

  9. Bahi

Hi all. I would like to say something about her.

I think, Sethallia is really great.
Seth is most used champion from all champs I have.
I have her in SPD/divSPD sets and I have some gear triplicated for her. (chest & banner for sure).

In that case, she has range of stats:
    HP: 41k – 50k
    DEF: 4000 – 5000
    SPD: 300 – 345
    RES: 200 – 350
    ACC: 200 – 350

depends where I use her right now.

For me Sethallia is AA or 5* champion.

    Regards Bahi

    @Indivix
While Cycle of Magic is valuable mastery for prolonged battles, this particular champion is most often used in Arena, where on higher tiers(G4, Plat) battles are instantaneous it all comes down to so called “speed race” where having more speed than your opponent gives you huge advantage. Having that in mind and fact that Sethallia needs lots of accuracy, 100% chance to cheat a bit with enemies speed outweighs 5% chance to reduce cooldown of random ability by 1.
Also, on higher difficulties of Clan Boss you don’t want any random form of turn meter’s boosts or cooldowns decreasing.
The best gamers endeavor to eliminate randomness in their playtroughs. That applies not only to turn-based games but to games in general, especially E-Sports.

  11. Indivix

Why is Evil Eye chosen over e.g. Cycle of Magic by most builds? I am aware Turn Meter manipulation is essential in turn-based games, but having a (small) chance to reduce skill timers could be more beneficial when fights last quite long (which they can in Clan Boss, Doom Tower and such). Having a chance to get her skills back up quicker is considered of lower value than the one-time per target TM reduction?

  12. OtterHalf

While I’m at it, here’s Hell Hades’ arena build (also accuracy-heavy):
-Offense: Deadly Precision, Keen Strike, Heart of Glory, Single Out, Life Drinker, Bring it Down, Methodical
-Support: Pinpoint Accuracy, Charged Focus, Swarm Smiter, Lore of Steel, Evil Eye, Sniper, Master Hexer, Eagle Eye

If you want something more well-rounded and less Arena-focused, swap Eagle Eye for Warmaster.

  13. OtterHalf

@calderstrake, here’s StewGaming’s Sethallia masteries (accuracy-focused plus defense to keep her alive)
-Support: Pinpoint Accuracy, Charged Focus, Swarm Smiter, Lore of Steel, Evil Eye, Sniper, Master Hexer, Eagle Eye
-Defense: Defiant, Rejuvenation, Improved Parry, Resurgent, Delay Death, Retribution

  14. Drackstorm

    Hello Aumilove!

I think this is the best character for doom tower.

She can solo defeats the crab and both spiders.
it seems to me there is simply no other such character in this game.

I didn’t even have to change items for her, she defeats all the bosses in the normal, and the lower floors in the hard difficult.
If you need a proof i can do it. I want see 5* Nether Spider, Frost Spider and Scarab King. But ofc she useless for MagmaDragon. 1*
    Thx for Attention

  15. Steve Norman

    Doom Tower
Sethallia 60 maxed with regeneration and Devine Speed will solo Frost Spider and Scarab King
    Ignatius 50 \
Coldheart 60 \ to clean stage 1 and 2 then die on 3.
    Armiger 50 /
    Vrask 50 /

  16. Drackstorm

    Centurion_Dregg
I use her on CB, but i’m ~middle-gamer. She have very good heal and fills Turn Meters.
Her A1 allows her to do some damage

But i think if you have a good unkillable pack, she is useless

  17. Centurion_Dregg

Can someone explain to my why is she 5* on clan boss?

  18. GôTô

I find the mastery very Dungeons and CB oriented.
For Arena I would go for Timely Intervention and Cycle of Revenge

  19. rakschas

Sethallia is only decent at CB if you havent reduced her a2 cooldown, otherwise she will be off of CB turn order to purge stun and you can only use her if you play the whole thing manually.

The suggested masteries are, if at all, ONLY decent in clan boss. For Arena and FW you would go with defense and support tree combiations. Possibly for dungeons too, she’s just not a nuker and it is just wrong to force her into that role.

You have to decide if you want to focus more on her healing ability or her ability to purge buffs off of the enemy team. To be fair, there aren’t too many decent guides out there for her.

  20. WFH

Does anyone know if she uses her a3 on auto on clan boss? Just got her and I am using a double counter attack team atm…

  21. Arc

Hi, thank you for these guides, I’ve found them very useful. I just pulled Sethallia, as my 1st legendary.

Can I ask, while she has decent base attack, Sethallia mostly seems to be support, so is it really worth investing in offence masteries, rather than doubling down on defence?

Is there a particular offence master that’s useful, or is it just that defence can be sufficiently covered by artifacts, to the point you’d get diminishing returns?

Also, I’m wondering whether to replace High Khatun with her, or to run them together for even more turn advantage.
I’ve put relentless & immortality on her, as I don’t have many good speed artifacts with the suggested stats.

Also, (you don’t need to answer, it’s not specific to this champion, but) I’ve been running Kael/Doom-Priest/Tayrel/High-Khatun/Coldheart for 1.8M damage in normal clan-boss and I’m not sure whether to replace DoomPreist or High-Khatun; though I guess I should just level her and then test.

  22. calderstrake

Please add a mastery tree for Stew’s 2.0 video.

  23. Saw

Can she replace apothecary anywhere? What order should her turn be? Full speed build or speed and accuracy?

  24. Conradations

@Ayumilove great, she turned to be the great winner in this patch 1.13. I used her only in clan boss, now she is in my Arena and spider den team too.

  25. Ayumilove Post author

@Conradations: I have re-updated Sethallia’s skills based on the patch 1.13. Her ratings and masteries are updated according to the reworked skills.

  26. Conradations

    She`s 5* in everything after 1.13 hahahaha

  27. Elbert

Oi mas qual equipamento vocês recomenda para esse heroi?

  28. Ayumilove Post author

@Hero Uli: 5 star rating is given when that champion excels in that area effectively. How long does it take for Sethallia to clear Campaign Brutal at highest level and Minotaur Level 15 by herself?

  29. Hero Uli

    Minotaur only 3 Stars?
“Correctly” configured she manages stage 3 of Level 15 alone.
I guess that would be worth 4(-5) stars.
In campaign I use her as the one for leveling 3 other Champs at highest level in brutal.
In arena she stands often as last one winning against 2-3 six stars (without important healing), because over 54k health, high healing, some attack and somehow fast enough.
(My one has defense instead of offensive mastery.)
