Seeker Review

Raid Shadow Legends – Seeker is an Epic Defense Magic affinity champion from the Undead Hordes faction where he can be obtained from Ancient Shards and Sacred Shards.

Champion Purpose

  • Seeker has many useful abilities that make him a great candidate in many areas. There are multiple equipment setups to enhance his utility in those areas based on the type of role (e.g. Defender, Attacker, Supporter).
  • Seeker’s A1 skill “Devour” is able to provoke an enemy with a high success rate, which makes him a great candidate against a dangerous enemy champion who can potentially wreck your team with high AoE nuke damage or AoE crowd control debuffs/effects. This skill is helpful against Kuldath the Magma Dragon as he is immune to all crowd control effects except for Provoke debuff. Equipping Seeker with Relentless Set gives him multiple opportunities to Provoke the boss when the Extra Turn from the set triggers and also quickly refreshes his skills on cooldown.
  • Seeker’s A2 skill “Tailwind” enables him to increase allies Turn Meter and apply Increase Attack buff. This skill is very valuable in facilitating your team to go first in battle such as Arena Offense and deal extra damage against enemies with the Increase attack buff. It is also used in speed tuning Ultra Nightmare Clan Boss for Unkillable Setup 2:1 (your team doing 2 turns of a single Clan Boss 1 turn) to 1~2 key to get the best reward chest!
  • Seeker’s A3 skill “Dark Blood” is one of the superior passive skill, which applies Increase Defense debuff on all allies whenever he gets hit critically. This is beneficial in Arena where most of the enemy champions have high Critical Rate. This provides added survivability to your team in case you are not able to go first in battle. If you are mainly using Seeker for Arena as a defender, you could opt for Shield Set to grant your team an extra layer of HP to survive the enemy nuke. Take note that the Increase Defense buff effects is instantly applied to his allies that are below his sequence.

Seeker Reference

Arena, Doom Tower, Faction Wars

Below is a reference of the artifacts equipped on Seeker used for Arena, Doom Tower and Faction Wars. The mastery and equipment selection is customized to handle Doom Tower Boss “Kuldath the Magma Dragon” (Hard mode). Seeker is equipped with Relentless Set and Speed Set. These artifacts have high HP%, DEF%, C.RATE, ACC and SPD stats. Speed stat allows Seeker to begin the turn first to boost all allies Turn Meter, so they could start the turn first before the enemy. In addition, Speed stat enables Seeker to go multiple turns of 1 enemy turn, which allows him to reduce his skill cooldown much faster than the opponent. Accuracy plays an important role to allow Seeker to consistently Provoke an enemy for every successful proc. This is crucial especially against Kuldath the Magma Dragon to prevent him from damaging your allies with AoE nuke damage. Seeker does need a high amount of HP% and DEF%, so he could tank the damage from the enemy he provoked. Critical Rate is a bonus stat to allow him to inflict a large amount of damage to the enemy he attacks.

Seeker Champion Lore

To become a vampire is to surrender oneself to Siroth. In return for eternal youth, strength, and power, the individual in question will be condemned to drain the blood of the living forevermore. This thirst for blood cannot be denied for long; even the strongest of wills can do nothing save crumble before the all-consuming desire. For those who do resist the compulsion, the only reward is madness… or worse.

Without blood, a vampire devolves into a feral nightmare; a maddened hunter, driven by a hunger it cannot control. Their body deforms, becoming animalistic, and their mind follows suit. Their spirit dwindles to a mere flicker and the newborn ‘Seeker’ forgets all that they were, becoming little better than the beast they resemble. They take to the night, hunting for prey. The Seeker feasts night after night, glutting themselves as they refused to do while still in possession of their sanity.

Many Seekers hunt until they are destroyed. Others find themselves pressed into the service of another vampire or a necromancer. Their twisted, bat-like forms are clad in serrated armor, and they are unleashed to battle the foes of their new master.

Such was the fate of Vargalis the Maw, one of the most monstrous Seekers to ever exist. Vargalis was once a mighty and feared gladiator of Velyzar, before his death in the arena. As his lifeblood seeped into the sands, Vargalis was offered a chance to live and fight forever by Siroth, who saw in him a being capable of causing much useful mayhem among the living.

Once Vargalis learned of what he must do to maintain his new existence, he felt some regret, and kept his feeding confined to those he considered unworthy of life. But on occasion hunger broke even his iron will, and he was sent into a frenzy of slaughter. It was after one such unfortunate incident that Vargalis swore never to taste flesh again. He took himself to a Lumayan monastery, high in the Cloudspire Mountains, and had himself confined to a penitent’s cell. The monks were initially reluctant to entomb a stranger, but Vargalis used his vampiric charms to convince them to accede to his wishes.

For long months, Vargalis writhed in agony in his cell, matching his will against his desire. But his suffering was to no avail. His body became twisted and monstrous, and his mind shattered beneath the awful weight of his unholy hunger. He broke free from his confinement, and butchered and drained every monk in the monastery. But his hunger, denied for so long, was not sated. He descended from the mountains, killing anything and everything in his path, gorging on the blood of Dwarven patrols, bandits, and whole villages.

A necromancer, following rumors of the Seeker’s rampage, tracked the beast to a ruined Dwarven outpost and bound the once-proud gladiator to her will. She arrayed the creature in a twisted parody of the armor he’d worn as a living man, and sent him to slay one of her foes, a servant of the Sacred Order. Vargalis butchered many warriors of the Order until he finally located his quarry and tore him apart, slaking his thirst on the man’s blood before succumbing to the weapons of the survivors.

I just wanna say that putting the updated version of the Faultless Defense blessing is doing GREAT for Seeker when used vs Hydra. His passive puts Inc Def on everyone, and then a bunch of damage to the entire team is getting reflected back on the heads. AND he’s doing a bang-up job of keeping Provoke up!

  2. Inoeth

anyone tested seeker in reflex gear?

  3. ArcticF0X

Just cleared 110 Hard Magma dragon with Seeker. He’s completely crucial. This hideous creature is so incredibly useful in all the hardest parts of the game – DT, Demon Lord, Hydra, Arena.

    Promote to S-Tier NOW!

  4. ArcticF0X

@paciokino Getting a second Seeker is a good thing, as builds for Arena and Clan Boss require different speeds, gear and masteries.

  5. ArcticF0X

This champion should be in S-Tier. For Arena Defence and Offence he is surely the strongest non Void epic. He is a cornerstone of ‘go second’ teams.

Then, given his usefulness in CB, Hydra and Faction Wars he deserves a promotion.

  6. Drauku

Seeker should really not have the Rapid Response mastery taken when creating a Clan Boss build, as the extra Turn Meter boost can throw off speed tunes. Swap that mastery out and take either Life Drinker or if you really want increased speed for Arena, take Arcane Celerity, since none of his natural debuffs land on the CB.

  7. Jennifer

Has anyone tried building him in a frenzy set for arena? It seems to only work half the time. I am not sure if it’s because he is a defense champion so he is not taking as much damage and his turn is not speeding up fast enough after the 1st hit or what it is. The are other times he gets destroyed. I thought he would be a great candidate for it instead of focusing on speed. I am in gold4 arena.

  8. Mason

Seeker is one of the strongest arena leads there is. I started a new account (2 1/2) months old), and I barely get beaten in Silver IV. My seeker is only level 50 at that. He replaces a speed lead, or you can use him with a speed lead. The increase ATK is monument for your nuke or nukers and if you build him 200+Speed high HP high DEF dont worry about damage or crit. That’s not what hes for, you’ll make it to gold easy. I can never beat a seeker team no matter how terrible the team on my main account and I have some very strong champions on that one, but no seeker.

  9. Jeff

why only attack A1 of this defense champion is based on ATK, and why it is still defense champion. seems not make sense.

  10. paciokino

Should i keep a second seeker? any use?

  11. gphx

Retaliation could be considered if you value tanking more than an extra buff once in a while.

His continuously spamming the Provoke on his A1 means he gets hit a lot. Getting hit a lot makes maximum use of Retaliation Counterattacks.

The enemy would probably get tired of seeing him coming at them and throw their phone against the wall.

‘@#$%! There he is again! What the @#$%!?!’

  12. Rpbban

One Seeker. Lvl 60. My team couldn’t take him out. The battle never ended.

    I totally hate him!

@Mewnoz: Shield Set would be an excellent choice for Seeker in Arena Defense if you are using him mainly for his passive skill Increase Defense debuff and utilizing his high HP to generate a large shield via Shield Set. This strategy is useful against high speed and nuking Arena Offense composition such as Hegemon. However, you will need to pair him with a champion who can reduce the incoming damage (e.g. Krisk, Ursuga Warcaller) and a nuker to finish off the enemy team after the enemy completes their turn. This method may not be suitable against enemy Arena team who has buff remover (e.g. Madame Serris, Gurgoh the Augur, Rae) as the Shield will be stripped off.

  18. Kevin

Rejuvenation or Mighty Endurance? One is shown, the other listed below for Arena.

  19. Tom Chapman Barros-Wing

@Mewnoz Depends where you are in the game. His HP seems pretty decent, and a Shield set could really help early-mid-game in Arena, and probably throughout the game elsewhere, particularly if you have Shield pieces with lots of hp% on them. In end-game Arena, though, I hesitate to think that shield would be as useful as, say, more Speed.

  20. Mewnoz

Do you think having a Shield set on Seeker is a decent way to buff with shield, or is it waste on him due to not having insane HP etc?

  21. Erny JRC

Please make a savage-crit seeker build

  22. Joseph

    @Dave

That’s not how lore of steel works. It increases the base stat bonus by 15%. It’s just worded in a confusing manner.

Speed set bonus will go for 12% to 13.8%, roughly.

  23. Dave

Why is one of the recommended masteries Lore of Steel?

It boosts artifacts with a 15% bonus. But the recommended artifacts (speed, relentless) boost 12% and 18%.

So it seams like that wouldn’t really do anything.

  24. Olly

Would seeker be a great alternative to running warmaiden and spirithost in an arena team? For the increase attack buff and decrease defence debuffs

  25. Cortiz

I messed up the masteries and started with Offense (Blade Disciple) and Defense (Tough Skin). Any advice on where to go with the masteries now for this champion? I want to use him to round out my Arena team.

  26. Faction Wars?

    Faction Wars?

  27. Jesper Nielsen

I think Seeker deserves more stars for Force keep. His TM + attack boost is great, and his defense boost when the guardian crits him is nice too.

  28. Reeve Rahl

    @Pedro

Seeker is incredible versatile! And a great safety net if it comes to your Nuke Team failing to one hit the enemy.

  29. Pedro

    Is he good?
