Though not her daughter, Maria bears a chilling resemblance to the Dark Fae, her three floating mirrors echoing Astranyx’s five portals that drift ominously behind her like a crown of shadows. Born from a tragic tale of obsession and deceit, Maria was once a mortal bride whose fascination with fate and numbers led her to the edge of madness. Through cursed mirrors enchanted by a treacherous seer, she was drawn into the realm beyond her reflection, her soul fused with the crimson energy that now fuels her wrath. Thorn Golem, the Epic guardian required for her summoning, guards the path to her rebirth, a molten sentinel whose vengeance mirrors her own. To summon Sanguine Maria is to awaken the spirit of vengeance itself, wrapped in blood, glass, and the haunting power of three.

In battle, Sanguine Maria turns her obsession with threes into a deadly rhythm. Her Hematic Blades (A1) strike three times, each blow carrying a chance to grant her an Extra Turn, keeping her relentless pace. Gorescream (A3), her signature attack, strips all enemy buffs and becomes irresistible against targets protected by buffs divisible by three. When Maria herself carries the same number of buffs, she gains an Extra Turn, chaining her attacks with eerie precision. This synergy rewards careful setup and timing, letting players unleash her full potential against buff-heavy teams that crumble under her mirrored fury.

Her Sanguine Fissure (A2) is where timing meets devastation. Normally slicing through a third of her target’s defenses, it transforms every third turn into a near-unstoppable attack, ignoring almost all defenses including Stone Skin and Block Damage. When this ability kills, it punishes survivors by extending all their skill cooldowns. Skilled players who align her turns correctly will find Sanguine Maria a fearsome weapon across both Arena battles and PvE content, capable of dismantling even the most fortified foes.

Her passive, Say Her Name, cements her identity as an unrelenting spirit. Each hit she lands boosts her power while dulling the force of incoming attacks until she reaches her peak. Attacks 1 enemy 3 times. Each hit has a 33% chance of granting an Extra Turn. Cannot gain more than one Extra Turn.

Sanguine Fissure (Cooldown: 4 turns)
Attacks 1 enemy. Will ignore 33% of the target’s DEF. Will ignore 99% of the target’s DEF, [Stone Skin] and [Block Damage] buffs instead if this skill is used on a Turn number that is divisible by 3. If the target is killed, increases the cooldowns of all enemy skills by 3 turns. This effect cannot be resisted if this skill is used on a Turn number that is divisible by 3.

Gorescream (Cooldown: 4 turns)
Attacks 1 enemy. Before attacking, removes all buffs from all enemies. This effect cannot be resisted by enemies with a number of buffs that is divisible by 3. Will attack all remaining enemies with less than 66% HP. Grants an Extra Turn if this Champion is under a number of buffs that is divisible by 3.

Each subsequent hit from this Champion deals 33% more damage (stacks up to 99%). Resets after the 99% damage bonus is applied. Each subsequent hit this Champion receives deals 33% less damage (stacks up to 99%). Resets after the 99% damage reduction is applied. Whenever an enemy is revived, revives this Champion with 33% HP and 66% Turn Meter. After being revived, places a [True Fear] debuff on all enemies for 2 turns. This debuff cannot be resisted or blocked.

Most dismiss it as superstition, yet the legend hides a terrible truth. Once, Maria was a gentle and anxious young woman preparing for an arranged marriage. Overwhelmed by fear of the future, she sought guidance from fortune tellers and mystics, searching for comfort in their words. Among them, one man stood out, a mysterious seer named Khulan, who claimed he could read the secrets of fate through numbers.

Maria’s life seemed bound by the number three. She was born on the third day of the ninth month, during the third year of King Acelin’s reign, and her wedding was set for the ninth day of the third month. Even her vanity table held three mirrors, symbols she began to view as signs of destiny. Seeing her fascination, Khulan cast a spell on the mirrors, telling her that she could reach him through them whenever she wished. Grateful and desperate for reassurance, Maria began to confide in the mirrors daily, believing she spoke with Khulan. Yet the voice she heard was not his, and the power behind it was something far more dangerous.

Khulan’s true motives were darker than Maria ever imagined. Obsessed with unlocking eternal life, he tampered with forbidden magic that defied natural law. In his reckless ambition, he connected Maria’s mirrors to an ancient force beyond his control. Unaware of his deceit, Maria poured her every emotion into the mirrors—her fear, her sadness, and her longing—until they consumed her entirely. She stopped eating, sleeping, and engaging with the living world, her soul now bound to the unnatural magic Khulan had awakened.

On the day of her wedding, Maria appeared calm, her serenity unsettling everyone around her. Her father, relieved by her composure, accompanied her to the chapel. Before the ceremony began, she asked for a few private moments to pray. When she emerged, her transformation was complete. Her skin had turned pale as porcelain, and her gown was drenched in her own blood. With knives in both hands, she slaughtered her father, her bridesmaids, and every guest who crossed her path. None could escape the frenzy of her blades. Within minutes, the chapel was silent, filled only with the dead.

When the massacre ended, Maria returned home and approached her vanity once more. She stared into the three mirrors, the source of her torment and power, until they drew her in. From that moment, her spirit became one with the reflections, forever trapped within their depths.
