I recommend building him for CB. Turn off his A2 and throw in a Toxic set for extra damage. Works great in my Unkillable team.
This dude deals an insane amount of damage on Clan Boss.
He hits for about 222k on my account.
He is hard to build if not using an unkillable comp.
I have him in Stalwart + Perception,
Speed about 170
Crit about 50 to 60 (working on it)
Crit Damage 270
Attack 2900
Defense 2100
Ally Protector in the lead is Kyoku,
So Rugnor here gets ally protection a fair amount of the time.
Gonna use Doomscreech to supercharge Kyoku even more than I have her right now so that Ally Protection is on all the time, as well as pumping Rugnor up to about 3500 defense.
Farming Dragon 20 for better six star legendary Stalwart,
and trying to build better perception gear also to increase his defense in Stalwart gear.
Tbh I think rugnor is a really bad champion in general, only under very specific circumstances is he okey/good, and definitly not in all content.
Best Set on him is definitly Frenzy Set.
He´s not an S-Tier epic, A Tier yes, but not S.
Was lucky to pull him 🙂 even not mentioned. He is AWESOME³ in Regeneration Set + Speed Set. His selfkilling skill does not matter in this eq 🙂
Apparently Rugnor’s passive only executes once per turn or hit. Still a great champ, just means he won’t refresh his passive when one hit takes half his life.
It’s also important to note that his A2 will not kill him if he has an unkillable buff.
I was a little disappointed in the HH video. He’s correct for the most part, but there are a lot of other things you can do with Rugnor that were never mentioned. He’s not a champ you want to throw onto your dragon team and farm on auto. He is a great champ for DT or CB, but you will want to manual him unless you have something really specific you are setting him up for. For example, you can turn his a2 into a full free turn by putting him in a frenzy set, which will also synergize with his passive to keep his debuffs on a boss or cut in arena. There are a lot of ways to use this guy.
I think Rugnor is great. His kit allows options when you play him manual and he can adapt to fit different situations. He’s excellent against scarab, but also great for dt floors that are pushing my champs’ limits.
I’d like to try him out on an unkillable comp on UNM CB. In theory once he starts taking 45% of his life in damage each turn, his a3 will always be available so his a2 is never triggered. That also means he can hit for well over 100k and put up dec def and weaken every tun. He should work fine on auto after a few turns as long as his passive can trigger multiple times in a turn.

Isn’t his whole kit designed to be used for Scarab when equipped with a destroy set, yet he’s only rated 4 stars there?
@PokoPika %5 file gain is okay, but the point is that it reduces the cooldown of Gleam of Avarice. Because of the 75% turn meter increase your next turn happens almost immedieately, and because of the 15% life loss, Dire Grudge is triggered. So it shortens the cooldown of Gleam of Avarice by 2 turns at the cost of 25% turn meter. So even though Gleam of Avarice looks like it has a long cooldown, it ends up being available almost all the time.
I’m sorry, but whats the A2 good for? Just the 5% life net gain?
@Mandozz: If you have the A3 fully booked and are not consistently applying the debuffs, you should look at your Accuracy. Standard advice by the experts like Ayumilove or the major Content Creators is to have a minimum of 220 Accuracy for UNM CB and L20 Dungeons. Even with that level of Accuracy, your debuffs will be resisted by a Boss about 5% of the time.
It looks like even with A3 fully booked he doesn’t apply Def Down every time. As you’d think this is a major issue for spider 20
I disagree about him being added to that list, since he only increases his own turn meter. Functionally it’s like an underpowered gain an extra turn mod on the A2 instead of being a real increase turn meter skill that would effect other champions.
I use him in CB, Spider, and lots of single target situations. His A3 hits HARD.
He should be added to the “increase turn meter skill” champion list I believe.
Could anyone offer any decent stats for a build for him for nightmare CB & FW’s?? Eg. Hp , def, speed, crit rate , etc. Would be a BIG help going to put him with s.sentinal, bad el, f.banshee, stag knight or apothecary.
For his a3, does the chance to place the decrease defence go up as well as weaken, or is it just the weaken that goes up to 100%?
