Rector Drath Champion Lore

Few acolytes of the Cult of K’Leth ever see the headquarters of the Knights Revenant, the cursed isle of Perdition. A bleak place of mist and cold stone, it is the nexus of the Cult’s operations and the home of Losan K’Leth himself. Common cultists yearn to make a pilgrim’s journey to its craggy shores, hoping to receive the favor of the great K’Leth himself, but most know that only their children stand a real chance of one day seeing the place.

Among the jagged buildings that bristle across the barren isle is a school, named Umbral. It is a place of stone columns and perpetual shadow, the scrape of quills on parchment and the clack of slow, armored footfalls the only noises permitted in its grim halls and dormitories. Here, children of the cult who show particular promise — be it academic, magical, or military — are brought, ostensibly to be further educated in the ways of K’Leth, though there is an even more vital purpose to their work.

Umbral is administered and maintained by a dedicated group of Knights Revenant, and only a few among their ranks are more infamous than Rector Drath. She ensures discipline in the institute, while she can also benumb flesh to dull pain and fuse broken bones with her magic, allowing her to act as a physician. It is said that she once ran a similar institution for orphans maintained by the Sacred Order, and that she was one of Losan K’Leth’s first converts. The structure of Umbral does indeed seem to be based on the Sacred Order’s foundling institutions, but the things taught within could not be more different from Lumayan dogma.

Drath is unstinting in her duties. Besides regulating the institute’s discipline, she instructs various classes herself, most of them martial in nature or relating to the histories and heraldries of the Knights Revenant. She readily lashes the bared palms of the wayward or inattentive with a switch rod, or strikes them with the haft of her scepter of authority, making no attempt to conceal her natural cruelty. The mere sound of her footsteps accompanied by the swish of her black and gray dress is enough to quell most mischief-making.

Rector Drath is feared and hated by her charges, though the youths of Umbral also have reason to be thankful of her constant presence. The dead do not rest easy on Perdition. Umbral has been attacked by reanimated corpses or unquiet spirits, often the dead of shipwrecked vessels who drag themselves up from the icy, crashing waves, hungry for warm flesh and blood. During such assaults Drath plays her part in the defense, for she has many skills in the art of necromancy. With her booming, matriarchal voice she can master the ghosts of the lost and force them to obey her, while the scepter that acts as her badge of authority doubles as a heavy mace – with it she smashes the skulls and breaks the bones of any who would violate the institute. She can also part ways with her own body, taking on a spirit form and walking the halls unseen, ensuring none break Umbral’s strict curfews or violate its grounds.

Umbral helps secure the future of the Cult of K’Leth, but its secret and most vital function is as a testing ground to discover potential future Soul Shepherds. Like the other overseers of the institute, Drath is always monitoring her pupils for those who show arcane aptitude. The dreaded Rector singles out worthy candidates and removes them from their classes. Only then can their true training begin.

@Narantang first of all you overlooked 14 from the gauntlets
then the boots give 40 as main stats
and for the rest gauntlets plus chest are speed set, 12% of 109 (her base) are 13
these 13 get multiplied by 1.15 bc of masteries, so another 1 or 2 speed

maybe it works now, i dont know what you mean by 6 come out of FG, bc i dont know what FG means

Ayumi, THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING. Your site is a reference for all. You are appreciated!!!! 🙂

Just pulled Rector last night and I’m pumped! She’s always been a pain to go against in the Arena.

I’m a F2P about 90 days in and play mainly for the Arena.

I now have a dilemma as to who to 6-star next.

    My options are:

    1) Uugo
    2) Miscreated Monster
    3) Rector Drath

My current team is Deacon Armstrong (Lvl 60), Ronda (60), Tagoar (60), and Uugo (50), which has gotten me to Gold II.

Any thoughts on adding a second healer/reviver in Drath over maxing out Uugo?

Also, assuming you will use Speed boots, does anyone know for sure what the best combination for tankiness is out of the options below?
    1) OPTION A: HP% on Gloves and Chest
    2) OPTION B: Def% on Gloves and Chest
    3) OPTION C: HP% on one item, Def% on the other

    THANKS ALL!

Very good video on Rector Draft. Thanks!

    Dear ayumilove , I like your site i’ts very helpfull for me . But after 1 year + with this game & you I noticed lots discrepancies between hero stats & equipment stats. Speed – 109 base + 131 , but gear speed is 16+4 +15+10 +17 =62 +6 from FG =68 . 63 speed missing !

You listed one of her primary stats being ACC, but it should be RES. yes, she has a dec atk on a1, but primarily she would benefit more from not being stunned/CC’d/Dec def so she can focus on healing other champs

  7. Fizban

what blessings would you suggest to this char.

  8. BitPull

The word “Passive” should not be written with a double “aa”. 😉

@Steved25: If your team can survive without requiring any Reviver, then I would recommend going with Apothecary as he will help you in progress much faster compare to Rector Drath when building a speed farming team. Rector Drath has a long healing skill animation, which slows down the run. She is mainly used for sustain battle or a battle where you use to clear difficult stages by 3 starring it such as Faction Wars.

  10. Steved25

Rector Drath or Apothecary? Who should I get to 60?

I could use help on my whole team. Right now only have Athel at 60 fully booked.

I have Rector Drath, Apoth, Ninja, Kael, Coldheart, Elhian, Fenax, and Aleksander all ready to level up.

    Any help/suggestions would be appreciated

    @Ayumilove I LOVE YOU!!

  12. Zer0

@Ayumilove there is a new video ash made about Curing set on Rector Drath and is very helpful.

  13. Mammamia

Since her passive’s healing amount isn’t based on her own max hp, is it worth it to use a curing set for some extra healing for vailed champs?

@Sagar Belbase: I have updated Rector Drath’s skill tomes from 13 to 11. Thanks!

  15. Sagar Belbase

Tomes required are 11 not 13

  16. Luke

I recently pulled Rector Drath. Combined with Duchess, she is a beast. 3 starring Nightmare campaign at only level 18 (rank 5) with no masteries or books yet only ascended, albeit a long run but worth it.

  17. Michiel Ecker

    Hi Ayumi,

What is your opinion on Godseeker Aniri vs Rector Drath?

Currently I already have my Godseeker maxxed out, but just recently pulled Rector. You have Rector as S rank while Godseeker is just below at A rank. As a F2P player I’m really hesitating on how much it would be worth to really invest in Rector as well..

    Thanks

  18. Arkedias

I was looking at how to improve my team and I’m wondering if a Healing Set and a Speed or Precision set would be good for Ms. Drath here. Anyone try this?

  19. Vino

Fighting FW21 with her being the only reviver in the entire faction does making me pull my hair out. Not totally her fault for my entire FW21 team is Force aff which cannot be a worse setup. Not my choice I jsut never got the luck to pull a Miscreated or Faceless or Crypt Witch… RNG is RNG so what can I do? I do hope her revive is 2 instead of 1. I am jsut not reviving fast enough to sustain the crazy damage all the Spirit champ dropping on me. Don’t get me wrong, as a healer she is great. As a reviver she sucks compare to others. But in terms of her faction, IIRC there is no other healer at the moment.

  20. dani

Crazy healer, i was stuck on mino 14.but she carried me to 15 easy job

  21. teacup

Try Relentless set on her, HP gloves, Defense BP, will keep your team alive in Hard DT

  22. Raqi33

You don’t recommend to boost ACC, but in Clan Boss, her Decrease ATK is very useful. It’s only 50% chance (when booked) but for an A1 she’s gonna do a lot, it’s actually decent and procs quite a lot. She does decrease attack, and this way I don’t have to use a specialist for this, and can use the spot for another damage dealer/ poisoner. Thanks to this ability, I’ve considerably improved my clan boss score.
So a perception set on her (to not compromise too much on the speed) isn’t a bad idea!

  23. Ayumilove Post author

@MtgJedi: I have added your video into the page above!

  24. Magnus47

@Morgan – You are right that everyone can be targeted if they are all under Veil. That doesn’t make it bad though. Her Passive only works on Champs under Veil, plus everyone takes less damage while under a veil.

  25. Zugz

Hands down, the best support I’ve ever gotten. Game changing, for sure.

  26. Morgan

Really like this champion but the perfect vail on all(inc herself), is a bit pointless as it then means anyone can be attacked. Cancelling out the benefit of PV apart from the 15% decrease of AOE

  27. Paul M

Thanks for the wonderful site mate. Regular visitor first time poster. Given she is so new, I thought I would start this discussion off as not many will have had a chance to play with her.

Rector just got me past the first Nether Spider on Hard DT. I had tried 20+ combinations of my troops. It was a 6:50 run, but as below, completely fresh barely leveled.

She was just… freshly 5 starred, level 27, level mostly 12 gear, (no amulet, no Necklace) with no masteries, only Ascended to level 3 to unlock Master of Ghosts. I concentrated on SPD 188, will be 16+ more once I level boots and use runes. Then targeted HP, then Def. Speed, Resilience and Perception sets used (simply the sets that had the right stats for me).

NOTE: I am completely F2P so none of the gear on her is uber good like the video posted above by HH, another person and now website I follow.

Rest of the team makeup were with fully leveled: Arbiter and Scyl of the Drake for resurrections, with Rotos and Ultimate Galek to bring the pain.

The additional resists, make her better than I thought she would be.
