Prince Kymar Champion Lore

According to legend, Prince Kymar is one of the oldest of those Demonspawn who were not born directly of Siroth’s dark power. Once an Elf noble of Aravia, Kymar was prone to hedonistic pursuits, and many of those who valued Aravia’s strength and stability were relieved that he was far from the direct line of succession.

Over time, the prince grew embittered at the fact that he was not set to assume the throne, and frequently quarreled with his older brothers and sisters. Derided as indolent, he was caricatured as a noble only concerned with spending his lavish wealth and hunting or feasting with his cronies. Some Elves pointed out that Kymar did at least try to become learned in matters of statecraft and leadership, and had even dabbled in the magic arts, but the stereotype of a foolish and arrogant dilettante prevailed.

Relationships between Kymar and the rest of his family continued to deteriorate, until there was an irreparable rupture between the prince and his eldest sister, Alandra. At this point, Siroth made his move, for he had followed the prince’s faltering progress from afar, his dark consciousness attuning to Kymar’s bitter dreams. Siroth orchestrated a plot in which an assassin made an attempt on Alandra’s life. It failed, but saw Kymar framed for the crime. The prince flew into a rage at the accusations leveled against him, and when guards were sent to arrest him, he slew them with his bare hands. Cursing his family, he fled into exile.

In those darkest hours, Kymar decided Siroth was his only hope of seizing what he believed should have been his all along — the crown of Aravia. Deep in the wilderness, he sought out a portal to the nether-realm of Anathraad. When he eventually unearthed it – in a dormant state – within a long-forgotten shrine, he had no hesitation in using what magics he had learned to awaken it with his own blood. In stepping through, Kymar became one of the first mortals to voluntarily pass into Siroth’s realm since the Sin of Dragons.

Siroth welcomed Kymar like a long-lost son. For Kymar there was relief – his fears of being met with Demonspawn and all manner of horrors to gain the Shadow God’s attention left him. Instead he marveled as Siroth took him on a tour of his infernal, unnatural kingdom. Kymar did not intend to submit wholly to the forces of darkness, but had hoped rather to bargain with them. Kymar was a being of ambition and intelligence, or so Siroth claimed, and if Kymar were the king of Aravia, Siroth was certain a fair agreement could be made between the two of them. The question that Siroth posed to Kymar was simply this: did the prince have the strength to take back his homeland?

Kymar was convinced he did, and intended to prove as much. Siroth promised that, if Kymar became King of Aravia, he would give him back his soul in full, but until then, he would have to accept the Shadow God’s benediction and take on the aspect of demonhood. Confident in his eventual triumph, Kymar did so, and joined the ranks of the Demonspawn.

With a darkening sense of purpose, Prince Kymar led an army of Demonspawn in a campaign against Aravia. At the battle of the Silent Vale, he met his elder sister, Alandra, in the thick of the fighting and, after a wrathful exchange, slew her. Only when her body lay broken in his hands did he experience one last moment of regret. It passed quickly. Alandra would have had him executed, of that he was sure, had he remained in Aravia. All that mattered now was that he was one step closer to the throne.

Despite Alandra’s death, Silent Vale was a defeat for the treacherous prince. Siroth was enraged by Kymar’s failure. For a long time Prince Kymar wandered in despair, abandoned by both his kin and the god he had sworn himself to. Only with time did he find purpose again — he realized that, being immortal now, he had all the time he needed not only to conquer Aravia, but to make himself king of all of Teleria. In an effort to recover his standing following his defeat, he set about slowly building a base of power among his fellow Demonspawn, where his cunning and charm proved most effective. Sometimes, among mortals who have taken up Demonhood, Kymar’s name and title are finally spoken with some of the respect he knows they deserve. If his ambitions are realized, a day will come when he’ll cease being merely ‘Prince’ Kymar, and become the king he has always intended to be.

    Best Arena Blessing?

  2. Healy

Why is Kymar only 3 star for Astranyx? As long as Kymar is your fastest champ and you disable his A3 for the waves, it means even on full auto all your champions are guaranteed to go before the mirrors – not only that, they all will have fully refreshed cooldowns so you dont have to worry about essential skills on cooldown from the waves making Astranyx MUCH easier to build teams to farm.

Welche Setteile wären für ihn am geeignetsten?

  4. Khan

    @Stephen
The advice is correct and that’s because of the counterattack buff on spiderlings that can heal the Nether Spider. But Prince Kymar’s buff strip ability neutralises that threat and you can use champions with multi-target A1

  5. Stephen K

Not sure that the Nether Spider rating is right. Your advice is to avoid champions who has the ability to attack multiple enemies on their default attack (A1 Skill)

    That’s Prince K.

  6. Isarma

I meant to say he “resets” and it’s rinse and repeat…

Thank you Ayumi for the great site, it’s very useful for us new players!

I was lucky enough to get Kymar early on (I think he was my first Legendary) and I’m still pretty early on in the game (still not 50 yet.) With the introduction of Deliana to the game, it gave me two Legendries that work very well together.

As a newer player, I’ve got a Arena team of Kymar, Deliana and two Athel, and I set the team priorities to fire the AoE’s first line, with either Poison or Abyssal Gaze from Kymar depending on the enemy teams champs, Know Your Place from Deliana, and Higher Blessings and Divine Blades from the Athels. With a nice speed boost on Kymar, he goes first, applies the poison or removes the buffs (even if the sleep doesn’t stick,) and *if* the other team is still alive for a second round, he rests and it’s rinse and repeat. There’s rarely a third round, at least at the level I’m at so far (there’s always a bigger fish out there though.)

Like David says below, for at least early players, it’s really a game changer. Those four are pretty good in early levels of dungeons too, especially the Minotaur, where I can pair almost anything with them and get those scrolls for the 5th champs pretty quick and easy. Tonight it was Infernal Baroness, which I was also lucky to get, so I definitely wanted to get her up as quickly as possible. Since Deliana was a give away (summer of 2022) to anyone consistent enough to log in, I thought I’d mention teaming them up for anyone like Nehemiah and Jo below and myself who’ve been lucky enough like me to pull him fairly early in the game. It really helps to have that little bit of an edge to keep up with the players who’ve played longer and have much beastlier champs so you don’t get discouraged and quit after getting whoomped in PvP every day. 😛

Can someone please tell me how you can adjust your mastery skills. I dont really understand it. When upgrading skills you can make it a higher chance to get the better skill on whatever hero you want? Thank you

  9. Nehemiah

Im new to this game. Enjoying it a lot. Thank you for your site. It really helps for newbs especially.

“I really wish they didn’t program him to start off with A3 at very first round…..”

Couldn’t agree more. Though at least in many situations you can set up teams with instructions. I’ve got him using Abyssal Gaze [ATK] in most situations which give the other guys on my team to at least get off their most powerful buffs before he resets the clock.

I get that the mastery suggestions for campaign and arena are designed for short burst attacks, while those for dungeons and clan boss are designed for long term survivability in a protracted battle. But what do you choose if you don’t yet have the luxury of specializing your champions and need most team members to do both?

Why Flawless if amulet isn’t crit damage? Shouldn’t crit damage be favored when choosing Flawless execution?

  14. Vino

I really wish they didn’t program him to start off with A3 at very first round…..

@SancDage: Lore of Steel increases the stats of artifact sets that improves the champion’s base stat such as Speed Set. The improvement is small but it’s there. (+12% Speed x 15% Lore of Steel = +13.8% Speed)

  16. SancDage

Lore of steel perk says it affects artifact sets that increase base stats by 15%. Speed sets increase base speed by only 12%, so does it still benefit from lore of steel mastery perk?

  17. WarToad

Anyone use him in a Reflex set? Seems a good fit, like with Bad-El.

  18. TheoCGaming

Actually, I’m not really sure what to put where swift parry used to be…

  19. TheoCGaming

Whoops! I meant Divine Life, not Swift Parry. I thought swift parry was a 2-set.

  20. TheoCGaming

@Ayumilove Going off of the armor guide, I have equipped Kymar with:

Weapon: Divine Speed with ATK as the main stat
Helmet: Immortal with HP as the main stat
Shield: Immortal with DEF as the main stat
Gauntlets: Divine Speed with DEF% as the main stat
Chestplate: Swift Parry with DEF as the main stat (Not ideal)
Boots: Swift Parry with SPD as the main stat

  21. TheoCGaming

@Ayumilove What gear would you (and others) recommend for Kymar?

  22. Divine

@WhatsInANamex I use him to reset septimus A2 at Celestian Griffin.

  23. RaiTheNoblesse

this is still the most accessible Raid (tier & info) Site out there!.. thanx for the effort Ayumilove^^

  24. WhatsInANameX

He is my first champion above rare that has a 5* for Spider Den, so building him up for such. (Thank you – building him up according to this website). Can I, or should I, use him for any of the Doom Tower bosses – if so, which bosses?

  25. Ayumilove Post author

@jet martinez: Yes, you can use Perception Set crafted from the forge. If you are out of forging materials, you can farm Accuracy Sets for the Dragon’s Lair dungeon or campaign area “Felwin’s Gate”.

  26. jet martinez

hi ayumilove! let me just say that your site is the best , helps me a lot esp . with what to gear my heroes! now my question is can i use PERCEPTION set ( from the Forge) in my price kymar? since it is with accuracy and speed?

  27. Ayumilove Post author

@Tom: A champions power level is determined based on Critical Rate and Resistance. If you can get his Resistance high and Critical Rate high, his power level increases substantially. However, Prince Kymar does not need Resistance but Accuracy for his skills to work! Build the champion based around his skill kit, so he can unleashed his full potential!

  28. Tom

How do you make Prince Kymar powers goes up? I had him at level 60 with 6 stars and all top artifacts, but only at 17,766 power!

  29. Sillak

What would happen if you had dual Prince Kymar? You could just go mass seal of magic right?

  30. Daach

Anyone else having issues with him not using his A3 first round when he goes last? My spider 20 team with 2 RGs was working fine and now he is using his a2 first for some reason. Thanks

  31. MrShovel

Could you cycle an infinite block damage with 2 kymars and a roshcard?

  32. David

For arena, maxing his speed and accuracy allows his A2 (use first) to remove all buffs and put all opponents to sleep for the entire first turn. This is huuuge !
it allows some of your slower single target attacker (i was lucky enough to get turvold) to pop the squishier/most dangerous enemy without it them being protected my mountains of buffs and/or killing you first.
You can then use the prince’s A3 at turn 2 or 3 to give your team some ability to keep using their strongest spells again.
He is very very good as a support/debuffer.

  33. Ayumilove Post author

@Vikingchief: For Arena, you will want to build for a short burst battle (nuking). Outside arena, you want to choose masteries that can be used for a long battle (survivability or in nuke team where champions are using ENEMY MAX HP skills).

  34. Ayumilove Post author

@billybo: Oops, there is an error on my side. Sniper is not required as long as the debuffs are guaranteed to trigger. I’ll update Prince Kymar’s mastery for Arena.

  35. Ayumilove Post author

@Matinho02: Thanks for the correction! I have updated Prince Kymar’s total skill tomes from 14 to 9.

  36. Matinho02

maybe there was a change in the past but currently he requires 9 Tomes not 14.
Thank you for the Great site!! Cheers!

  37. billybo

Is Sniper mastery needed if his debuffs are already guaranteed, assuming ACC is sufficient.

  38. Vikingchief

If you build Kymars masteries towards arnea, he will still be pretty useful in dungeons right? I will go towardsm arena, but just curious 🙂 Thanks for an aweome site, and the help you provide 🙂

  39. Jo

I’ve just got crazy lucky and pulled 2 legos out of 5 ancient stars. The first one was Kymar and the second turned up to be… another Kymar. I hated it at first, but now i’m thinking that these two may be very useful as they can keep the CD abilities of the rest of the team available all the time. Do you think it’s a good stategy? And who are the carachters that would benefit the most from spamming their CD?

  40. Ayumilove Post author

@Raayna: Thanks for your input! I have updated Prince Kymar’s equipment guide to fit as a Defensive/Supportive champion.

  41. Raayna

I don’t understand why most primary stat recommendations are offensive based? Especially when he is a support champ that excels in arena. Isn’t survivability and being tanky a priority for him?

  42. Ayumilove Post author

@Eric: Without accuracy, Prince Kymar will not be able to successfully land his debuff on his enemies if they have high resist. If you plan to build him purely for resetting skill cooldowns, then you can substitute Accuracy stat for more ATK to deal more damage or DEF to reduce incoming damage.

  43. Eric

Why do you list Accuracy as an important stat?
