Modo of the Peal Overview
Modo of the Peal is not just another Legendary Orgryn Tribes champion in Raid Shadow Legends; he is a symphony of destruction and control, forged by isolation and tempered by newfound freedom. Born into solitude within the bell tower of Lutetia, Modo’s existence was defined by his duty to ring the cathedral bells – a task that masked his true potential. His transformation from an outcast to a protector of the oppressed mirrors his role on the battlefield: a beacon of relentless power who thrives when paired with Esme the Dancer. What sets him apart is his unique blend of crowd control and damage output, capable of dominating fights through sheer force or strategic precision. Whether it’s shattering defenses or silencing foes, Modo embodies both resilience and adaptability, making him a compelling addition to any team.
At the heart of Modo’s prowess lies Ear-Splitter, an AoE skill that places a Stun debuff on all enemies while dealing devastating blows to those already stunned. This synergy creates a domino effect, where each stunned target becomes fodder for even greater devastation. With Esme at his side, this ability reaches its zenith – ignoring 20% of enemy defense ensures that no foe can withstand his onslaught. Meanwhile, his passive, Beloved Companion, elevates him further by punishing enemies who dare to gain turn meter after he secures a kill. The Stun debuff placed on the highest-turn-meter enemy disrupts enemy momentum, cementing Modo’s status as one of the most formidable crowd control champions in the game. These mechanics intertwine seamlessly, turning every fight into a calculated cascade of chaos. Complementing his toolkit is Skull Clapper, a single-target attack that strikes twice and has a chance to apply a Decrease Defense debuff. Though not as flashy as his AoE skills, it weakens key enemies, setting them up for devastating follow-ups.
While Modo excels in controlling the battlefield, his utility shines brightest with Peal of Breaking, a skill designed to dismantle tanky adversaries. By ignoring Shield buffs and amplifying damage against Stone Skin buffs, Modo dismantles defensive setups with ease. If he manages to break one or more Stone Skin buffs, he gains an extra turn, allowing him to maintain pressure without pause. However, Modo’s full potential hinges heavily on having Esme alongside him. Her 50% RES ignore buff reduces his accuracy requirements, while her Intercept stacks protect him from counterattacks. Without her, Modo remains powerful but loses some consistency, particularly against enemies resistant to stuns. Together, they form an unstoppable duo, blending raw strength with tactical finesse. Modo’s journey from a lonely bell-ringer to a harbinger of justice mirrors his gameplay – a tale of empowerment through partnership and precision.

Modo of the Peal Champion Lore Synopsis
In the grand city of Lutetia, few knew the identity of the person who rang the famous cathedral bells. Their sound was unmatched, marking the passage of time with perfect precision. Travelers journeyed from far and wide to hear them, but whenever they asked the priests who was responsible, they received only vague answers about the blessings of Lumaya. Behind closed doors, however, one man did know the truth. Vadalk, a senior clergyman, had inherited the knowledge from his predecessor, Bertha, a kind-hearted woman who had taken in an abandoned Ogryn child despite his protests. She had named the child Modo and raised him in the bell tower, away from the prying eyes of the city. When Bertha passed away, Vadalk continued to protect Modo but never offered kindness, constantly reminding him that his very existence was flawed in the eyes of Lumaya.
Modo, now fully grown, had one task—to ring the cathedral’s bells. The original clappers were broken, so he wielded a massive hammer of his own design, ensuring the bells continued to toll as they always had. Though Vadalk refused to acknowledge his skill, he took full credit for the flawless sound that resonated through Lutetia. Isolated in his tower, Modo found solace in his work, accepting his loneliness with quiet resilience. His only human contact came in the form of Vadalk’s infrequent visits. Despite the harsh words, Modo clung to the idea that Vadalk was his brother, just as Bertha had once described. However, he dared not ask for freedom, knowing full well that the city would never accept him.
One day, Modo’s world shifted when he saw a street performer unlike any he had ever encountered. A woman dressed in foreign attire, moving with grace and joy, captivated him from his perch. Her name was Esme, and though she was human, she was treated with the same cruelty Vadalk had warned Modo he would face. Crowds jeered at her, throwing insults and objects until the abuse escalated to violence. Modo, deeply shaken, remembered Bertha’s teachings about protecting those in need. Acting against everything he had ever been told, he descended from his tower for the first time, hammer in hand, and fought his way to Esme’s side. Together, they escaped the city and fled to the encampment of Esme’s people, the Dust Spirals, a nomadic Krokhan Clan.
Safe among the nomads, Modo faced a painful choice. Esme urged him to join her people, but Lutetia was the only home he had ever known. Though he longed for freedom, fear held him back. His hesitation ended when Vadalk arrived at the camp and publicly disowned him. With nowhere left to turn, Modo left with the Dust Spirals, venturing into the vast and unknown Krokhan Desert. In time, he formed friendships, experienced the world he had only dreamed of, and discovered a happiness he never believed possible. As a symbol of his newfound life, the Clan’s pyromancer enchanted his hammer, igniting its head with a flame that mirrored the fire of justice burning within him. At last, Modo was truly free.
