Loki the Deceiver Overview

Loki the Deceiver is a sly and unpredictable champion in Raid Shadow Legends, making his grand entrance during the epic Asgard Divide event in August 2024. One of the mighty quartet of Norse legends alongside Thor Faehammer, Freyja Fateweaver, and Odin Faefather, Loki is obtainable through the thrilling Loki Chase daily login event. With a devilish mix of debuffs, Turn Meter manipulation, and slippery evasive tactics, Loki is more than just a trickster – he’s a game-changer. While not your dungeon-farming champion, he thrives in high-stakes battles, especially in Arena and against bosses, where his clever ploys can completely flip the script on your enemies.

Loki’s skill set revolves heavily around the Veil and Perfect Veil buffs, which not only enhance his abilities but also introduce the new “Evade” mechanic through his Mist Step passive skill. This passive allows Loki to dodge incoming attacks, making him hard to pin down, especially in the Arena or challenging PvE content like Ice Golem’s Peak. When under Veil, Loki becomes even more dangerous, as his skills gain additional effects. For instance, Bandit Flash (A3) allows him to steal all buffs and Turn Meter from an enemy without needing accuracy, making it ideal for controlling bosses like Fire Knight or disrupting enemy strategies in the Arena.

Deceiver’s Gambit (A2) offers both offensive and defensive versatility, placing Block Active Skills and Block Buffs on enemies or healing and buffing allies, with the potential to spread these effects under Veil. However, the randomness of the buff/debuff spread can be a limitation, especially in auto-battle scenarios like Hydra or dungeon runs, where specific targeting is crucial. Despite this, the ability to cripple key enemies or support allies makes this skill highly valuable in many situations.

Overall, Loki is a powerful and strategic champion who excels in niche roles where his unique skills can shine. His ability to extend debuffs, steal crucial buffs, and evade attacks makes him a versatile asset in both PvE and PvP content. While he may require careful management of his Veil states to fully realize his potential, Loki’s presence in any team can be a game-changer, particularly in high-stakes battles where control and manipulation are key to victory.

Loki the Deceiver Champion Lore

One of the last Fae created in the Dance of Darkness, Loki emerged as innumerable monsters and malign forces were brought into the world. Far from horrifying him, however, their sheer variety fired his imagination. Possessed of a deep sense of mischief and a thrill-seeking nature, he taunted the seemingly endless stream of new hideous creations at leisure until the Dance of Darkness suddenly stopped. Disappointed, Loki set out to see the world.

He found peoples, lands, nations, flora, and fauna. When Loki was not entertained by them, he entertained himself. He transformed into different people and creatures to fool those he encountered, leading them on wild chases into the middle of nowhere, or tricking them into believing he was a friend or family member.

Loki was content only with his own company for many years. He had no desire to belong to any society he saw their laws, guidelines, and codes, and sneered in disgust. Many people he saw claimed to be free, but he knew that with all their obligations to lords, land, and families their chains were merely invisible. For Loki, Teleria was to be enjoyed without moderation.

During the Great Divorce, Loki watched the torturous meatgrinder that was the Firstborn-on-Firstborn battle. Not even the Great Trickster could find delight in what he beheld — for the first time, he realized that the creators of Teleria had just as much power to destroy as to make. After, as centuries wound on, Loki witnessed unimaginable slaughter dealt in the gods’ names. Meddlers. Rule-setters. That’s what they were. They couldn’t leave well enough alone and seemed content with destroying the world Loki loved to experience. The gods had to be removed. Should either win, he believed, they would assert their will over Teleria without challenge.

Until he found a way to ensure the gods could no longer influence Teleria, Loki fought to maintain their stalemate. In conflicts such as the First Great War, he shapeshifted into commanders and gave false orders. In battles, he changed sides multiple times, slipping between the ranks to kill powerful warriors or sabotage war machines to tip the balance. With a nigh peerless charm and charisma, he won nobles, chieftains, and warlords over easily only to give them ruinous advice
and turn them against their most loyal followers and associates.

Loki tried to find the gods’ weaknesses all the while. He shrugged off ideas about opening closed portals to Anathraad, for they helped Siroth too much and, given they had been closed before, could be closed again. He considered freeing Hellrazor the dragon, but knew such an act was too small to draw the attention of the gods. Frustrated, Loki journeyed to the Redspike Mountains to rest his mind. There, quite unexpectedly, he discovered an entire Fae civilization, based at a great
hall-keep called Asgard. All the Fae there were older than him, with different knowledge and perspectives. Loki listened to them all closely.

As much as he could talk with Freyja Fateweaver about the beauty of the world, the two never bonded. Part of the fun of life was its unpredictability, and her future-scrying was incompatible with that. Loki however enjoyed the company of Thor, a stern, chest-thumping hulk of a Fae, though he didn’t quite know why. A being so different to him, with an overwhelming sense of duty, shouldn’t have been a friend, but he was. Loki should have found the humourless Fae quite insufferable, but they had a shared love of adventure. There was something amusing in how unalike they were, the Trickster decided.

Loki had almost forgotten about his desire to unseat the gods until a chance moment in a conversation with Odin, leader of the Redspikes Fae. Loki learned about the Fire Knight, the Waters of Life, and the Painsmiths during his travels and conversations with other Fae. But then Odin pondered what might happen if the Waters of Life, frozen by the Arbiter in the Age of Hellfire to prevent Siroth tapping into the Darkness at Teleria’s core, thawed. Such an act, Loki realized, would be the first in a chain that would guarantee the gods’ intervention and, if he made the right moves, their defeat. With the Painsmiths, he could free the Fire Knight and together, they might have the brute strength, technical ingenuity, and magical power to melt the frozen Waters. His mind racing at what he saw as the ultimate mischief, he left Asgard without a word of warning, barely containing his glee. Little did he know it would take centuries for his plans to come to fruition. Even then, he had a feeling his deeds would not escape the notice of Freyja once they were put in motion, who would waste little time in alerting Odin and Thor. He would need to prepare.

@Mark F: I highly recommend leveling up Deacon Armstrong as he is easier to be built and he is an all-rounder. Loki has specific niche-usecase (Arena and Hydra Clan Boss) making him not ideal especially for early-mid game players. Deacon will help you to progress further and faster compared to Loki. Don’t fall into the trap to power up all the Legendaries you obtained from summon or fusion events. Focus on champions that can help you unlock higher difficulties to reap better rewards.

  2. Mark F

I am very new. Loki vs Deacon Armstrong, In general, Which one would you raise from 5 to 6 stars first? I only have enough to raise 1 now and the other in about 3 months when I have 5 more chickens or equivalent.

@DonPonKO: I have updated Freyja’s masteries, previously it was a placeholder until I had time to update it during the weekends.

  4. DonPonKO

why exact same masteries for loki and freyja ??

  5. josi1

ist hoffnungslos überbewertet. 5 sterne bei feuerritter? bei hard führt er die A3 ( zugmeter) nicht aus somit da unbrauchbar

In game reviews are nuking him. Any update? should I 6 star and drop 10mill on him?

  8. Goingnowhere

Just got hold of him yesterday and levelling him up. Holding back on gearing other than a defence ring. Have seen him steal buffs and spread lock skills debuff at Level 9 FW, even without gear. Pretty good.

Hoping da put him in demon lord team with Ninja and hopefully Drexthar to keep HP burn going. Thoughts?

Hi Ayumi, if you can, please provide us his A1 Damage multiplier number soon? Waiting on that as final factor to decide on gear. Greatly appreciate your website as a great reference for the game!

Found him much better then 2 stars for Fire Knight, used him to spread Counterattack there. My max before Loki was Fire Knight lvl 15, now its lvl 20. I need to play manual fights but for now this is enough.

AOE Counterattack was so rare but Loki change that as we all have Jizoh (just be sure in target you choose so shield can be destroyed before you spread buff).

If you find Counterattack buff spread interesting like me, look detailed comment on Crusher (uncommon).

  10. Moizevitch

I think it’s early, but I believe this rank will change to S. He’s based on attack; maybe mastery in attack and support? Thanks Ayumi!

Seems like my previous comment was not saved so im writing again:

For sure he is 4/5* in CB as he can spread unkillable. Tested Gnarlhorn with him, both at 3:2 to CB. All other buffs are ok but must be 2 turn duration on Gnarlhorn. This way he have only unkillable when targeted with Loki’s A2. Used third hero to have veil/perfect veil on Loki when needed. His A1 have +x% chance in skill upgrade and Sniper will work to have up to 75% chance for increase all debuff duration by 1

His passive perhaps can be heavy abused on easy CB, with 361+ speed he is 4:1 to CB and once at less then 50% HP he is not going to take any damage from CB ever again. I don’t have gear for this speed so i can’t test.

  12. BTTest001

Im sensing fast nerfs for him…
Immediately 4/5* on CB please as he can spread unkillable allowing for stupid unkillable teams like Loki+Gnarlhorn (at 3:2). Only condition is that source of unkillable does not have any other buffs and that Loki can have veil/perfect veil at times needed. That alone is 4* for sure and for 5* he brings A1 with up to 75% to increase all debuffs duration by 1 (Sniper will work as skill description says +x% chance).

Also if he is 4:1 to CB (possible for low difficulty) he can always have 100% evade (just don’t heal him), but this is not tested by me as i can’t hit that speeds yet. If someone can test him at 361+ speed vs easy CB, please let us know.

As always, thank you for the detailed information, and more so on Loki, as he was just released today!
