Kreela Witch-Arm Champion Lore

Kreela Witch-Arm was born in a small village in the Lost Isles, under the stars her clan believed signified sorrow and ancestry. The first star proved true all too soon, for Kreela’s mother died in childbirth. The second star marked her as one with ‘Hallowsight’: a connection and ability to commune with the Orc realm of spirits. Soon after Kreela’s birth, a Shaman called Tellok arrived in their village demanding the girl be handed over to her, so that she may be properly trained in the spiritual practices the Orcs of her home islands had observed for generations. Facing losing both his wife and daughter in a matter of days, Kreela’s father refused. Furious, the Shaman cursed the child, and vibrant fuchsia, mauve, and lilac flames erupted from Kreela’s left arm, forever marking her as one who refused the call of the ancestors. Fearful of provoking Tellok any further, the village elders banished Kreela and her father.

Kreela’s father sought shelter for them among other Orc clans. They roamed from village to village, isle to isle, and the response was always the same: a firm refusal to welcome the child with the witch-arm. Realizing that she would never be accepted, Kreela’s father accepted life as an outcast, and did his best to raise his daughter with love and optimism for a better life to come. Though their existence was harsh, Kreela grew into a happy, headstrong, and fearsome young Orc, skilled with any weapon, and adept at hunting, fishing, and surviving in the wilderness. When she was old enough to understand, Kreela’s father told her of Shaman Tellok, and how, despite the curse, they would build a better life together. However, a time came when the star of sorrow proved prophetic once more. As Kreela was on the cusp of adolescence, a terrible sickness claimed her father’s life. She wailed and howled for hours until exhaustion overcame her. Kreela collapsed beside her father’s body, and fell into a deep and mournful sleep.

After opening her eyes, it was clear to Kreela that she was no longer in the cave in which she was raised. The landscape before her seemed to shift, images appearing then disappearing in mists as if drawn and erased by some spectral illustrator. It was unlike anything she had ever experienced, and though she may only have been dreaming, Kreela thought that somehow she had passed over into the ancestral plane. Unsure of what to do, or what was expected of her, she stood up and inspected this dreamlike place. As she explored, the landscape continued to blur and change, until she saw two Orcish figures, holding hands and walking toward the horizon. She chased quickly, eager to speak, but as she ran the figures seemed to become further away. Then, just as they were almost out of sight, the pair turned. Kreela’s heart almost jumped out of her chest as she saw they were her father and an Orc that looked just like her, except older and without the cursed arm. The stranger gave her a tender smile and Kreela knew she was seeing her mother for the first time.

At that very moment, Kreela sat bolt upright, now back in the cave. Filled with immense grief, yet fizzing with a newfound purpose, she knew that she had to find Shaman Tellok and learn from her, so that she may again visit the ancestral plane and speak with her parents. Though it pained her to go to the one who cursed her, the one whom her father had lost everything to keep her away from, Kreela knew that she had to forge her own path, and accept the fate that the stars had laid out for her at her birth. When she found Tellok in a remote hut on an otherwise unpopulated island, the Shaman wasn’t surprised to see the adolescent Orc standing there, for the spirits had told her of Kreela’s coming moons prior. They began training immediately, Tellok keen to make up for lost time, and Kreela eager to learn.

Years passed, and Kreela honed her craft and widened her understanding of the rituals, spells, and practices passed down from Shaman to Shaman. Over time Kreela’s power outstripped Tellok’s, yet despite countless attempts, she could not reach that dreamlike place where she had seen her parents. With the old Shaman unable to teach her any more, Kreela set out on her own, desperate to find any clue or magic that might allow her to once again find her family. Lost and alone, she uses her gifts to seek something she may never find, her travels most recently taking her to the pirate port of Bleakhaven. Perhaps one day Kreela will snap out of her introspection, and she will find a new purpose looking outward to the future, instead of inward to the past.

Kreela Witch-Arm Storyline

As a daughter of a dying tribe, Kreela’s early life was marked by loss and hopeless struggle. Her people were driven from their lands again and again by their rivals, by the neighboring humans, even by the restless dead that at times rose amid the sands of the Krokhan Desert. When her parents fell to the blades of slavers, she found herself chained and dragged away with the rest of the ‘cattle’. Her fate was uncertain and grim. But there was yet a glimmer of hope, for an elderly orc Shaman saw the potential in a desperate and malnourished girl. Though the slavers were loath to give away one of their captives to the old man, they could not argue with the demands of their tribe’s spiritual leader without incurring severe consequences. Thus they relented, and Kreela became apprenticed to her saviour. For years she had undergone gruelling training and learned both the art of combat and the means of communion with the beings Beyond. Through the use of meditation, chanting, and carefully brewed herbal concoctions, she could reach out to the Spirits of the land and the long-dead orcs. She walked among them at times and channeled their otherworldly strength to empower herself and the warriors in her charge. But Kreela had never forgotten the evils done to her and her kin, not even when she was accepted as a full member of the tribe. Long had she waited, plotting in secret and greedily gathering every bit of knowledge she could in the service of her mentor. It was not until he passed away that she struck, for while her blood demanded vengeance, she too had to honour the Shaman’s kindness. Kreela gave a speech upon his funeral pyre, calling for unity and expansion of the tribe’s domain – the Spirits had ordained it, she claimed. In reality, she sought to enact her own will rather than follow dreams and visions. With the help of younger tribesmen loyal to her, she orchestrated a series of ‘omens’ that all led to her designs being fulfilled. Slowly, she gathered the honoured and elder warriors – all of whom she knew were in the raiding party that captured her all those years ago – and set them to a task she knew was impossible. The signs that Kreela claimed to have seen were false, and the warriors fell upon a much greater foe with no hope of success. Many perished in the attempt, and those who survived were slain by Kreela’s own minions as they retreated. Back in the village, Kreela manipulated events to see the families of the slain ruined and left with no means to survive. They were taken into servitude under the new Shaman’s own authority, and though it was much less cruel than what she had endured, her vengeance was nonetheless complete and ruthless. It was then Kreela finally turned her gaze to expanding her influence. And while she was not above manufacturing her own prophecies when need be, her shamanic foresight remained no less genuine for it. With her revenge complete, nothing stopped Kreela from sending her tribe to battle the barbaric human neighbors that vied with them for territory and limited resources. To further cement her reputation, Kreela led the raiding party herself. She used her arcane abilities to empower the orcish warriors and drive them to greater heights of brutish courage and violence. Though the Norr they had faced on that day were mighty in their own right, the orcs proved to be stronger. They overcame the defenses, cut their way through the Barbarian fighters, and cheered when Kreela herself had slain the enemy Shaman in a duel of blade and magic. The sight of her standing over the fallen foe, her arm covered in blood and burning with eldritch fire, was what gave Kreela her moniker – Witch-Arm. It was under that name she became known to all surrounding tribes, and it was that name that inspired fear and respect among her fellow Orcs in equal measure.

I got Kreela from the event early into my account and she carried my account with relatively bad luck with shards. However, I wish Plarium would have done different with her skill cooldowns and future champions that matter. She prioritizes A3 first on auto, which makes her 3 turn CD A2 essentially 4 turn CD as well. Booking the A2 CD feels like a scam, not that I’m surprised after playing RSL for so long.

  2. fr34kyg

So I guess I’m extremely lucky to have gotten her within my first 30 days of playing? Shard pull IIRC. I got her before I even got High Katun on my first ever F2P account.

Unfortunately no legendary books for me so far. So I’ve only ascended her and done some of her masteries. 5 star right now.

Seems to work well with my Athel main but not sure where to go from there.

@Bobby: The rating here are updated but the ranking list isn’t updated yet as I have to go through each of the champions to update their rankings there 🙂

  4. CPC464

She’s clearly God tier, lesson here Bobby is don’t believe everything you read online! She’s an amazing nuker for arena, her ally attack skill is amazing in almost all dungeons and on cb, she even works well in a team of aoe attackers for spider.

  5. Bobby

I am comparing her with all the other champions in the B tier and she’s seems to be much better (5* on almost everywhere). I I wonder why she is not in the A tier? Can you explain me why 🙂 Thanks.

  6. Vladvarg

    Ok, thanks a lot SereneGilt ! 🙂

  7. SereneGilt

Vladvarg: Its pretty hard to guess. But there is few differences between those two:

A2 Kreela has 1 turn shorter cooldown and Attack first alone with change to stun enemy. Lanakis on the order hand speed up allies.
A3 Kreela buffs every 4 turns for 3 turns with huge AOE (Mine does about 30k dmg) and Lanakis buffs for 2 turns every 5 turns – with a chance for extra turn.

I would suggest to choose what suits you better (I like kreela more for Arena as she nukes along with buff). Though in your case I would propably choose by the faction you need boost more in FW.

  8. Vladvarg

    Hello !

I am ftp and I got Kreela during the fragment event but not built and leveled her up yet. Buuut I just got Lanakis today.
I read their skills and can’t decide which one is best.
I watched the Hellhades and Chosen tier lists and I see that Kreela is higher than Lanakis. But I don”t understand why.
    Could you explain me ?
    Thx 🙂

  9. SereneGilt

I am still beginer (Day 89) and I have fully booked and fully ascend Kreela. Its definately my most belowed champion and I use her almost everywhere.

I am extremely far from having ideal gear for her. But she gives me a great result even when I did not touch it generaly since I fused and equiped her.

I have her in Relentless and speed set. HP 34k ATK 2900 DEF 2600 SPD 201 Crit 46% Crit dmg 156%

On CB she usualy goes about 6 times in 4 usual turns (2 are procs from Relentless). I think it procs much more than 18%. Especialy with my strategy based on Vizier + Frozen Banshee, she gives me enough attacks to keep debufs for whole fight and I am able to 4 key Nightmare CB (11-14 Mil). (Sure its not great achievement but you should see my account. I generaly do not have much luck with great characters)

Krella is also keeping me in Gold IV arena, helping a lot in spider 15, fire knight 15, dragon 17 dungeons. I generaly put her aside only for Force keep.

  10. Rukohard

@WileyMan In my opinion Kreela is way stronger than LB in CB.

    1. She hits hard. My Kreela is not full maxed and she does 80k + warmaster = 150k. with his A1.
    2. Her ally attack is 3CD and she attacks twice (2 attacks from K + 3 allies = 5). LB attacks with 4 allies (LB + 4 = 5).
    3. She brings +30 crit and +50 atk for 3 turns which is huge. You can build up your other champions with only 70 crit rate.

  11. Ayumilove Post author

@CPC464: I have updated Kreela Witch-Arm rating after testing her at Level 60 fully ascended.

  12. CPC464

You obviously haven’t used her on Fire Knight, her A2 ascended ability is perfect for smashing large chunks out of his HP

  13. WileyMan

@Ledriel: Her only debuff is the stun, which is useless for CB. All you would get from the Support Tree that would benefit in CB battles would be some accuracy, the slight boost in shields and the LOS set bonuses. I would go with Defense myself.

  14. Defence tree supporter

    @Ledriel

Unless you need accuracy, then defence tree is almost always better than support for the CB. Provides greater defence, damage mitigation and chance to counter for more damage.

  15. Ledriel

    Hey @WileyMan,

I do agree that in most of the case LB is better. My previous setup was: LB, Rotos, Frozen, Jareg and SC. This resulted into 4 key UNM (sometimes 3 key). In that case. LB was a gift to pull and completed my setup.

Now that I pulled dracomorph, there is a bug when the CB already has a weaken, he will not apply his debuffs (previously I heard that bug existed with Dcr Def but now they change it I assume).

Since I no longer need weaken, I can skip this and go for incr.Att + incr. Crit rate. In addition her ally att is on 3 turn CD. If I change my setup to Kreela, Draco, SteelSkull, Jareg and SC, I will have all the buffs and all debuffs up for the whole time. I do believe that Kreela can be better only for the people that have draco or venus, that means in very spesific cases.

    So, my question still stands.
Do you think the support tree may bring more value to the table for CB, or should someone building her should go with defense?

  16. WileyMan

@Ledriel: Why would you replace Longbeard w/Kreela for Clan Boss. Kreela is better than LB for Arena and LB is better than Kreela for CB.

LB’s Ally Attack Brings your entire CB team to the party and they each get a 20% boost to damage. Kreela will leave one of them sitting on the sidelines and there is no boost to damage, so, even though her booked Cooldown on Ally Attack is one turn shorter than LB’s, you will do more damage with LB:

    (1) His is Attack. She is Support. His A1 will do more damage than hers.
    (2) He puts up a Weaken that can do 100% uptime when booked.
    (3) He brings 4 allies with him. She only brings 3.
    (4) With LB, those Allies get a 20% damage boost

Kreela’s Ally Attack includes a stun, which is useless against CB but fabulous in Arena, and then it includes 3 random champs against a random enemy….so you will stun one enemy and then depending on how you build your team, you will either (1) AOE all enemies or (2) Kill whichever enemy is randomly selected….leaving you with at most two enemies to fight after Kreela’s turn.

I currently use Longbeard in the Arena, but I will build Kreela for Arena to take his place and re-gear LB for Clan Boss.

  17. Ledriel

I am building her for CB at the moment to replace my LB.
I was wondering if the support tree would be better in CB than the defensive one.
It will help on keeping the buffs active for longer, gives 5% of reducing the cd by 1. The bonus on the shield is just a small plus.

Do you believe this can outvalue the defensive tree?

  18. Kyle Jones

The stun can be avoided with resistance. Accuracy ensures the stun will land.

On a side note. This is my first legendary and I feel like her ratings are pretty low. Are they compared to other Legendary champions or ALL champions? Because she is way better than anyone on my current team.

  19. Dylan Digby

Why accuracy on banner? She has no abilities which require debuff chance? Wouldn’t HP be much better?

    BTW love this website

  20. Taanze

    @Chunchkr

I sure hope there will be chances to earn her fragments later. I’m not going to make it in this event, but I sure would like to get her.

  21. Chunchkr

I just started playing this game. (Now level 47). Am I right to assume that if I don’t get all 100 fragments for this champion un time, then the fragments are useless. Or, will there be a second chance towing/buy fragments later? This is a great site by the way, thanks for all your work and guidance.

  22. Mikael Bock

Considering the shield, wouldn’t it be more beneficial to put on a lot of HP rather than attack?
She’ll lack out on DMG sure, but teaming her up with some heavy hitters and with her Blinding Glow ability, I could imagine the pay-off being worth it..

  23. Perico

I’m not sure if it’s a bug or it’s how the skill works, but A1 shield doesn’t add to the shield the champion already has on it, so you can’t put a shield of 20% of Kreela’s HP on a champion.
    I hope they fix this.
    It’s a fun champion.

  24. Ayumilove Post author

@WileyMan: I have updated the fragment calendar for Kreela Witch-Arm at https://ayumilove.net/raid-shadow-legends-champion-fusion-guide/ – It would be a much more enjoyable experience if Plarium had made all the fragments rewarded for each tournament and event spread out evenly. Reason being, if you missed out one of the events that has the most bunch of fragments, its an inevitable failure to get Kreela, whereas using the suggestion of spreading them out, allows player to skip some of them (due to work/family related activities where they could not play during that time).

  25. WileyMan

She looks like a solid arena champion. Her ally attack has a shorter cooldown than Longbeard or Lanakis. It isn’t quite as reliable being 80% and a random enemy, but you also get a single enemy attack w/stun and the ally attack is 100% when booked…I am not sure what they are thinking though. Having everyone w/Kreela will likely push Arena even more toward the speed meta, which is what needs to change if Arena is going to change.

Plus, they just added more fragments to the event list today, so she looks a lot easier to get than with the original event list.

  26. Joshua M.

Got her from pulling a Legendary shard. My fusion efforts are pointless right now. lol Thanks Plarium!

(I really hope she’s worth it. Can’t say much for her right now other than I finally got a Legendary for a looooong time!)

  27. Kennon Marshall

Having a very hard time deciding how hard to push for Kreela. I think she may be a very good ally attack character, very nitchy. Will she actually add anything to my team now that I am late game? I am not sure…
