Kael Review

Kael is a Rare Attack Magic Champion from the Dark Elves faction in Raid Shadow Legends. Kael is one of the 4 starter champions (Athel, Elhain, Galek) that you can select before you begin your game! He is well-known for his Poison skills as it’s immensely valuable for boss raiding, especially at Clan Boss, Dragon, and Ice Golem. Dark Kael is his successor who can only be unlocked by collecting fragments of him by clearing Normal Doom Tower Secret Rooms!

Dark Bolt (A1 Skill) is Kael’s default attack that can apply Poison debuff on a single target enemy. It’s useful in taking out a champion who has vast amount of Health and Defense as Poison damage ignore all defense and deals damage based on their MAX HP. Kael requires Accuracy stats to inflict Poison debuff, so ensure he has sufficient amount of it. Otherwise, it will be resisted by the enemy! (Required Accuracy = Dungeon Level x 11).

Acid Rain (A2 Skill) is Kael’s Aoe Attack that hits all enemies on the battlefield. This skill provides an additional 15% Critical Rate, which means having at least 85% Critical Rate on Kael allows him to deal critical damage to wipe out enemies instantly. All starter champions (Athel, Elhain, Galek and Kael) have this unique passive Critical Rate boost on their AoE attack to give them an edge among all Rare champions! The exceptional part of this skill is Kael will gain a 25% Turn Meter boost per enemy killed. This allows him to quickly take his turn again if he manages to kill multiple enemies simultaneously!

Disintegrate (A3 Skill) is Kael’s signature Poison skill that inflicts a more deadlier Poison debuff. This skill deals lesser damage compared to all of his other skills if there are multiple enemies around, but deals a high amount of damage to a single target in total. If you are mainly using Kael as your primary Poisoner for boss raiding, kindly visit the Clan Boss guide to learn more about the required stats to optimize his build!

Last but not least, he has a Health Aura that can be used in all areas, which helps boost your champion survivability early game. Overall, Kael is one of the best Rare champions that is worth taking to Level 60. His role can be customized based on your game progression, either as a debuffer (early-mid game) or nuker (late game).

Kael All-Rounder Build

Here are Kael artifacts and masteries by Ayumilove, optimized as an all-rounder champion to tackle Campaign, Clan Boss, Dungeons, Faction Wars and Normal Doom Tower content! Kael is equipped in Lifesteal Set to heal himself during battle, especially when speed farming campaign along with 3 fodders. This artifact set is recommended for early-mid game players for survivability, as you will be lacking in Health and Defense stats to tank the damage. The stats to prioritize on Kael for early-mid game are Health, Defense, Speed and Accuracy. Kael’s damage output will be mainly from Poison debuff. Hence, it’s advisable to make him beefy to be able to take a few hits from enemy, while inflicting Poison debuff on them to deal damage based on their MAX HP! Once you reached late game, you can build up his Attack, Critical Rate and Critical Damage for more damage output from his skills!

Kael Arena Nuker Build

Here are Kael artifacts and masteries by Skratch, optimized as a damage nuker for Arena. Kael is equipped in Cruel Set and Speed Set. Cruel Set provides additional Attack stats and ignore a portion of enemy defense, while Speed Set provides additional speed stats. The stats to prioritize on Kael to maximize his damage output are Attack, Critical Rate, Critical Damage and Speed. Accuracy is not required as you will be solely relying on raw damage to knockout the enemy instantly rather than a long battle with Poison debuff.

Kael Full Review

Kael Purpose

  • Kael is able to inflict high amount of damage with his “Acid Rain” skill on multiple enemies, which makes him an excellent speed farmer in Campaign to level up fodders (food champion) quickly.
  • His basic attack A1 “Dark Bolt” and A3 skill “Disintegrate” has the ability to apply Poison debuff on enemies. This allows him to deal high amount of damage on high HP enemies especially Clan Boss and Dungeon Bosses such as Dragon with low stats gear. However, it requires Accuracy to apply Poison debuff or else it will be resisted by the enemies.
  • When Kael is build for maximum damage with high Attack, Critical Rate and Critical Damage, he can do large amount of damage to his opponents. This makes him one of the most for formidable champion in Arena when tuned properly.

Kael Synergy

  • Kael is flexible champion who can be utilized in various team setup regardless of the area, which makes him one of the best Rare champions to use when starting early-late game.
  • He is great in a Speed Nuke Team Arena setup where he goes last to do the finishing kill after his allies buff him with Increase Attack and lays down Decrease Defense debuff on enemies. If Kael manages to kill multiple enemies on his turn, he will be able to go again quickly to clean up the remaning enemies.
  • Kael can also be utilized in speed tuned counterattack setup in Clan Boss to deal high amount of damage by filling up the Clan Boss (Easy, Normal, Hard, Brutal) with Poison debuff.

Kael Limitation

  • Kael A1 ability “Dark Bolt” applies 2.5% Poison debuff on enemies instead of the 5% Poison debuff. Hence, if he is paired with another Poisoner champion who provides 5% Poison in Clan Boss team, he will become a damage bottleneck by filling up the lesser Poison version as all enemies including bosses have a limit of 10 debuff capacity.

Kael Champion Lore

Kael is a black sheep among Dark Elves: he is not a cynic. He began his road away from nihilism at a very young age, when he fled Durham Forest and went to one of the Free Cities, where he made a favorable impression in one of its foremost academies and secured permission for a permanent post. There Kael gained something that would change his life: access to a massive library of knowledge not curated by the Dark Elves. By the time of his return to Durham Forest, Kael could hardly recognize his home. The place had swiftly become a pit of infighting, exploitation, and competition, and the struggle for power and influence was life-and-death for many. It was a life Kael wanted no part of.

Kael proved to be an enigma to his people. Knowledge and contacts among Humans he gained gave him considerable leverage and he was an undeniably capable mage, yet he – inexplicably – did not strive for power like a proper Dark Elf, with exploitation and murder. Even worse, as his research bore fruit he had become a High Elf ‘sympathizer’ – he even dared suggest that the High Elves and the Dark Elves were far more alike than different.

Though those beliefs could have cost him dearly, Kael was unbothered by any of the consequences save one: access to the peace talks between the Elves. Even then, he initially had not been concerned — while he would have liked to interview some High Elves, he had little hope the negotiations were any more than an opportunity for politicians to shout at each other, with little hope for constructive dialogue. But then he learned of the cave networks that ran beneath the capital city of Aravia. They were incredibly ancient — some reaching all the way back to the Gray Age… and perhaps beyond. What secrets could they hold? He had to find out. He spent favor after favor, and he finally secured a position in the next conclave. It was a choice that would reshape his life forever.

Thank you for these helpful ratings. I just beat Void Keep with
Kael, Decan, Oella, Madam Seresa, either stag knight or Giscard i cannot remember. but yeah i was trying to counter poison instead of just dealing massive damage and couldn’t pass the last level, went for it and got it with no champs down.

  2. maurizio

    ma kael non ha benedizione

  3. stenbric

I wanna add onething about best starter: Use promo getudk and you’ve got UDK as starter and now after 7 days, Artrak. I got Kael, Elhain, Atel and Galek and only one I’ve taken to lvl 60 is athel but she will be replaced now by Rhazin that I got yesterday.

  4. Computer

Elhain truly is the best starter for a simple reason: the vast majority of your time for months will be grinding campaign. That’s so much time saved with her because she has two AOEs. Kael does not. Kael and athel might be better at clan boss, but who cares. Clan boss loot sucks until you get higher up, by which point you’ll probably have replacement for all the starters. There’s really no justifiable reason to pick any starter but Elhain.

  5. Maser Wu

Kael is a boss gang trust me put your books in him he wont let you down a very solid rare and yes i feel he is by far the best starter champ. Kael takes on most challenges with out to much fuss invest in him he should be your first 6 star champ.
Kael is a boss he just does it all easier than the other starter champs trust me gang a well built Kael is a great champ to have so versatile. He should be the first champion you book out and 6 star.

  6. Kadavrette

    I freaking hate this SOAB

  7. corina1989

where can i get kael where i didnt choose him as my starter hero???

  8. JANNAT ARA MUNNY

Awsome kaek will be help me.

  9. GrugTheRuiner2

I just pulled my third kael should I max all 3

  10. Sd25

I also have both Athel and apothecary 60 fully booked, so not sure which Kael would be best with them

  11. Sd25

If I already have a nuker (Athel) which mastery list would benefit me most?

I’d love to use Kael in clan boss AND arena. So stuck between the two. Or which would you suggest the better route would be?

  12. Ayumilove Post author

@EvilLoynis: Kael uses his A2 skill Acid Rain that deals AoE damage to enemies, which makes it the first skill to be on skill cooldown. When that happens, the Charged Focus mastery will not benefit his other skills such as A3 Skill Disintegrate that applies Poison debuff on enemies. For Campaign and Dungeon farming where players will be mostly using him there often compared to Clan Boss (which Kael can be easily replaced at higher Clan Boss difficulty), this makes Charged Focus less valuable in the long run.

Hence, the next best mastery option would be Exalt in Death, which grants him additional Health upon the first enemy killed in battle. This improves his survivability a lot as the first and second enemy wave will perform their nuke attacks, so it would be good to quickly heal up. For players who does not have a dedicated healer in their team, this could help out along with Life Steal set.

If you feel the masteries does not suit your play style, you are free to opt for a different mastery based on your team needs/preference. The recommended masteries shown here are based from my extensive usage of Kael in all areas in the game after testing various combination and spending gems resetting masteries a couple of times to find the best for most players usage.

  13. EvilLoynis

For Support Masteries, wouldn’t Charged Focus be better for Clan Boss, and even dungeons?

Exalt gives to little I would think.

  14. Shawn C Merrill

Regarding leveling 2-star champions; 1 XP levels them to 10 and not 7 and one successful run from 12-3 brutal takes to them 6 at the most.

  15. Yash

@Laika People sometimes don’t care about the set bonus if the individual piece has really good stats. For example the daze pieces are both 6-star and give hp% and crit rate, which are very sought after in primary stats.

  16. Laika

In the picture equipment is 4 lifesteal and 2 daze. Is that a mistake? Because daze is a 4 piece set or am I missing something?

  17. Stephen Michael Dirse

Nice site thanks for all the hard work.

  18. Migue Blanco

hola buenas noches me gustaría que pongan todos los campeones en orden por facciones y a un costadito ponen su valoración de S, A, B etc. si no es mucha molestia así estaría mejor ordenado

  19. Felirah

Kind of think his rating on Nether Spider might be a little higher? I’m new in DT, so on Floor 30 with NS and Kael can solo the boss in Lifesteal Gear, so long as you manual his Acid Rain and it is strong enough to kill the add spiders in a single hit and heal him to basically full, then Disintigrate right after from the turn meter boost tops him off. I’ve solo’d him with Kael from about 50% hp down to 0.

  20. fso86

by far the best champion for new players,i’m mid game and i’m still use him.

  21. RelativeNewbie

    I meant Brutal, not Nightmare.

  22. RelativeNewbie

@Spinni, Elhain is probably the best in the very beginning of the game because you don’t really need much more than a solid nuker for campaign farming on Normal. She falls off the table very quickly after that. I know this because I have Elhain as well and struggled a LOT on Nightmare until I pulled a Kael. He quickly started outdamaging her right from the start. Elhain also brings nothing to the table in Clan Boss or Dungeons except in the waves, which Kael is good at clearing as well. And Kael’s Disintegrate is perfect for boss fights. You might be able to make Elhain’s usefulness last a bit longer by giving her a savage or toxic set, or bloating her HP up and using her in a shield set in Arena, but it’s like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Kael is just naturally stronger in so many areas and has end game viability because of this.

  23. Spinni

I don’t know why everyone thinks Kael is the best starting champion. I have him, Elhain, and Galek, plus Athel on a second account, and I think Elhain is still the best.
First off, Elhain is an amazing nuke with an A2 that has an extra chance of crit, hits one enemy hard, then hits all of the opponents. She is just a pure damage dealer, and all you have to work on is her speed, crit rate & damage, maybe lifesteal and health to keep her alive.
Kael is just like a Galek, but instead of all the speed buffs and def decreases that Galek has, Kael has poison, and on his A1 he only applies 2.5 percent poison debuff, which is useless.
Although Athel doesn’t have two nuking abilities like elhain, or spread out damage like Kael or Galek, she has an increase attack buff and def, which lets her survive more and clears her of champions like Spirithost or Battlesage if you want to use her in a speed nuke team. Not to mention that that has an extra turn.

  24. Antonio Gomez

@spinflight. I use a Lyle 60, fully booked Dark Elhain as my Arena Nuke. She takes out Kael easily. I run High Khatun, Tayrel, Warcaster and Dark Elhain. It seems to work pretty good. I don’t have a lot of the really good champions that I see people talking about. So I have made do with what j have.

  25. Antonio Gomez

Would a Toxic Set work on this champion or will it be a redundancy to is poison debuff?

  26. Guilliman

@Spinflight I agree Soulbond is a fantastic Arena champ I use her as well in my comp because her Tm reduction and Ignore armor are heavy hitters for Rare. I started with Athel so I get the “Kael is annoying” feel. Honestly I have not been able to wipe him out utilizing a specific force rare I just can’t seem to get one that is a powerhouse. What I do have is a very strong Athel who I actually had to slow down cuz I had insane speed on her for my levels. Gorgorab is my Speed Aura and a 50% buff for all, then Warmaiden weakens, then Athel drops A2 and of all the mobs on the list to kill, Kael is usually the first to die to that AOE. It is just a “be faster than them” scenario.

  27. Spinflight

Given that every other Arena team has a lv60 Kael who would be the best Kael killer for such?

I’m struggling to find a force rare or uncommon with enough Alpha to take him out. I find that Soulbond Bowyer does an excellent job in oneshotting the obligatory Warmaiden on every other team, though is inevitably then oneshotted by the obligatory Kael.

  28. JeoMima

Thank you for this site! I build my F2P account literally following this site’s guidance.
One question please, I have 2 champs already maxed at *6 – Kael & Miscreated Monster.
Soon, I’ll be able to maxed rank another champ for *6. any suggestion for which one I shall maxed out?

    *5 :
    – Legendary : Saito & Lanakis
    – Epic : Skullcrown, Doompriest, Skullcrusher, Jizoh, High Katun, Warmaiden

    *4 :
    – Epic :Relickeeper, Hordin, Vogoth, Jareg, Sandlashed Survivor
    – Rare :Coldheart, Soulbound Boyer

There are still other champs aside from above list, but I’m not seeing them worth mentioning yet.
For additional info, I would like to build a team for clearing the campaign first. so the next *6 will be focused on this area.
please if there any suggestion, appreciate it a lot.
    Cheers.

  29. BruDog1970

@Ayumilove – Thank you for your detailed reply! I love this site and the work put into it. I wasn’t sure if the videos may have been more recent than your mastery charts. Your reply makes it clear that it is a playstyle/gear difference.

  30. Ayumilove Post author

@BruDog1970: The mastery shown in the guide above is based on my experiences using Kael from early to a late-game player. The Campaign, Clan Boss and Dungeons mastery would benefit players who are in the early-mid game. The Arena, Faction Wars and Doom Tower mastery would benefit players who are using Kael as a nuker champion rather than a debuffer.

The mastery that Hell Hades and Ash chooses is based on the areas used and how it compliments the gear they are using with them.

For most players, Life Steal Set is used for Kael during their early game progression to help them survive/sustain in all areas of the game. Hence, the masteries from other guides will not suit this kind of playstyle. Also, some of the masteries they choose may not be beneficial too. Take for instance “Charged Focus”. It will only benefit Champions who uses their debuffing skill first on Auto. However, Kael always uses his A2 skill “Acid Rain” to inflict AoE damage to enemies, which blocks the “Charged Focus” from providing additional Accuracy to Kael’s A3 skill “Disintegrate” or A1 Skill “Dark Bolt” since there is 1 skill on cooldown. Lore of Steel benefits Kael who are using basic sets (e.g. Life Set, Speed Set), but since Kael is mostly using Lifesteal Set, it would not benefit him much. A better suitable mastery for him to take advantage of his high damage skill will be “Cycle of Revenge”, which benefits him as a Campaign Farmer to reduce his A2 and A3 skill cooldown.

There are lots more going for the masteries but you can use this as your reference and make the best judgement on how you build your champion based on where you will use him. You can learn more about how the masteries work at https://ayumilove.net/raid-shadow-legends-champion-mastery-guide/

@Rich: Kael’s damage multiplier is available on the page. If you aren’t able to view it, kindly clear the Internet Browser cache to view the latest changes on the site!

  32. BruDog1970

I love this website and the work you do – it is my only “go to” for Raid. I happened to notice the below and wonder if the Masteries should be changed on the Kael page.

The two videos that go into Masteries (ASH and Hell Hades) both use the following:
    Offense:
    1) Deadly Precision
    2) Heart Of Glory, Keen Strike
    3) Single Out
    4) Bring It Down
    5) Methodical
    6) Warmaster

    Support:
    1) Pinpoint Accuracy
    2) Charged Focus
    3) Swarm Smiter, Arcane Celebrity
    4) Lore Of Steel, Evil Eye
    5) Sniper, Master Hexer
    6) NONE TAKEN HERE

  33. Rich

    What’s the damage multiplier?

  34. Ayumilove Post author

@MageExia: You could keep another copy of Kael if you do not have any better Rare champions for Faction Wars to deal high amount of AoE damage. There are 2 builds you can go with for Kael. The first build is high Accuracy to land the Poison debuff, whereas the second build focus more towards high Attack to deal as much damage as possible.

  35. Ayumilove Post author

@oXLukeXo: I’m currently updating all the champions to include how-to obtain the champion information 🙂

  36. oXLukeXo

you can also get kael from shards

  37. MageExia

@Ayumilove I have 3 of him is it worth keeping and leveling all 3 or keep one and use the other 2 for skill upgrade?

  38. Ayumilove Post author

@Maluco: When you are just starting out, you will be hindered by lack of equipment to select for your champion. Therefore, I would recommend using any gear you have on him until you can find the right primary stats for it. For instance, if you do not have a Speed Boots but only have HP Boots, then use HP Boots temporarily as a placeholder until you can find a decent Speed Boots.

Kael is an attacker champion and it would be best for him to be able to perform many attacks as possible within an enemy turn. This is achieve by having a Speed advantage over the enemy. Using HP Boots will not allow him to make full use of his potential. This applies to all areas in the game, whether its Arena, Faction Wars, Dungeons, etc. For your situation, I would recommend prioritizing farming Dragon’s Lair dungeon for Lifesteal Set, Speed Set and Accuracy Set as they are very useful for beating higher level Clan Boss difficulty.

If Kael is your primary damager for Dragon and you do not have any Revive or Healer champions, I would prioritize on using Lifesteal Set with the primary stats of HP% chestplate, Critical Rate glove, Speed Boots, Defense Ring, Defense Amulet and Accuracy Banner to Poison the dragon effectively and efficiently. He will be able to heal from his Critical Attack and Warmaster (Tier 6 Offense Mastery). Once you summoned better support champions, you can slowly convert those HP% chestplate, Defense Ring, Defense Amulet to focus more on Attack and Critical Damage to speed up the dungeon runs.

  39. Maluco

I have a general question about equipments, in early-mid stage of the game (Nightmare campaign, Bronze4-Silver1 arena, Stage 13 dungeons). Where I don’t have unlimited amount of equipment to choose from with best stats:

4* speed boots vs 5*HP boots?
    4* Atk% chest vs 5*ACC chest?

etc. How should I approach this – go with max stars, grind for 6* in the future, or apply best boosts for stats I want, but with less effective equipment (4*)?

  40. Ayumilove Post author

@Sev: I would build him with high damage (4000 ATK, 100% Critical Rate, 150~250% Critical Damage, 170~190 Speed). No need for Accuracy to apply Poison in Arena. I would put him in Savage Set and Cruel Set, pair him with a Decrease Defense champion such as Warmaiden / Bellower / Stag Knight (Speed 190~210).

  41. Ayumilove Post author

@Angadur: Early-Mid game, you will be using your starter champion in all places (farming Campaign Dungeon and raiding Clan Boss), so those masteries are very useful during that time. You will have very little resources to level and ascend a champion to Level 60, so its best to make him an all-rounder. The mastery above is still being used for my Kael. Your first 5 core champions (Level 60, 6 Star fully ascended) must be fully capable to handle most Dungeons 1~14. From there, you start building specific champion to tackle each Dungeon to reach Dungeon 20 more efficiently and effectively.

  42. Ayumilove Post author

@Toby Sling: The stats shown in the equipment guide are the ones that are top priority, not in any particular order. There are 3 stages in the game (early-mid-late). Early game you will focus more on damage, because most enemies does not have much Defense and Resist. Mid-game you will focus more on defensive/tankier-build, because enemies become more difficult (e.g. more HP/DEF/ATK/RESIST). Kael being an attack role champion would not be able to survive easily unless you have very good equipment to sustain him in battle (e.g. buying 6 Star equipment with cash). Late game you will be farming lots of high quality equipment with very good substats from Dungeon 20. From there, you will focus on both, with slight priority to DEF%/HP% if you are using Kael in Clan Boss. If mostly used outside Clan Boss, you can prioritize for higher ATK%/ACC.

  43. Toby Sling

Why do you have defense percentage as the top priority when he has lifesteal? he has to do damage in order to steal life, correct? Isn’t it based on the amount of damage he does? With defensive and health percentages as a top priorities, how can he do that? I followed your guide and it seems pretty useless for him and he is at level 50. You know a lot more about this game than I do but I’m just curious. Also, if you say poison is his main weapon then why isn’t accuracy higher on the list. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Lastly, I have him at level 60 on another account with divine life and speed and he seems to be a lot better all around champion.

  44. Destroyer39

He is much better then that in Fire Knight (4), Spider (5), Spirit and Magic both 5.

  45. Sabbib Xiam

Why Kael is not S Rank Champion? He is the Best Starter. and best in Rare’s Champion too. I think Kael should to get S Rank.

  46. Maximara1945

I’ve found that having kael with a a 1 regeneration set 1 offensive set turns him into an effective one man army with the 1 regeneration set healing him through most damage.

  47. Angadur

@ayumilove – Masteries Kill streak and Blood Shield seems pretty useless in CB and almost as bad in arena, Methodical seems much more reliable. Ant thoughts?
    Thanks for a grand job!

  48. Sev

What would you suggest for equipment on an Arena only Kael? I just got my third one and thought I should specialize.

He makes a decent Arena champ. I was thinking of going through a Flawless Execution with 2 offence and a crit rate set (or speed if I can’t get him fast enough with substats).

  49. Yeti

    @MKHASA green and blue

  50. MKHASA

    @odd_cow got it thanks.

  51. MalseRakker

@zog CB (and other bosses) are more about the long game, so the damage from kael is mainly from poison effects (ACC) while he stays alive (HP%/DEF%)

  52. Odd_Cow

MKHASA, his affinity is Magic, which mean he will be in green or blue but not void. Void only give Void Affinity Heros

  53. MKHASA

Hi There, I’m new to this site and to the game so sorry if this has already been answered. How can I get Kael? Is he only available from void shards? Or also green and blue? Thank you.

  54. Timotres

    @Solanis understood, thx 😉

  55. Solanis

@Timotres any of the advanced sets are fine replacements for the base sets. I.e. Cruel instead of Attack or Divine Life instead of Life, etc

  56. Timotres

Instead of using an offense set, couldn´t you use e.g. a cruel set?
It also requires 2x artifacts per set and gives the +15% ATK bonus as the offense set, but as a bonus you get one more stat (ignoring 5% enemies DEF).

  57. Zog

Hi there, thank you for your great site, it provides so much infos on the game, really great work !
I probably missed something, but how do you output dmg on clan boss or even regular mobs, with only DEF%, HP%, SPD, ACC artifacts, as recommended in the equip guide ? I don’t understand… Thanks.

  58. Shaaw

Even off affinity, Kael should be higher than 2* for force keep… His poisons bypass the boss’ high defense…

  59. Xe0n

Hi, i’m looking for the best replacer for Kael, for campaign farming AND CB, and obv if the char is good in Fire knight, it could be worth, What do you think about it, Here is a Supa Saiyan Kael ?

  60. Darek

Hate this guy. Everyone have it, but I don’t. My Elhain 60 lvl with 4K attack and 50% attack buff can’t kill 50 lvl Kael in one shot, but he one shot my full team on arena most of the time even on lvl 50 without any buffs. It seems like there are hidden annoying multipliers for skills that makes me cry sometime.

  61. Alkahalik

You have to keep in mind, that the masteries are for Clan Boss AND Dungeons. Not just an exclusive CB build. The idea behind it is Kael will also be Campaign farming for you as well.

  62. Niko

@Deadpool Oh, I see what I think your point was. Take away -Killstreak- and -Blood shield-. Pick -Methodical- and -Sniper-. Path to -Warmaster- remains.

  63. Niko

@Deadpool Killstreak is needed in order to pick Warmaster.

  64. Deadpool

@ayumilove I don’t know that I agree with the Clan Boss/Dungeon Masteries. It seems almost pointless to use Blood Shield on bosses, especially the Clan Boss, as you would only get that shield for the first two rounds in a dungeon battle and you would never get the shield in the Clan Boss fight. I fell like you would get much more benefit from using Methodical since you are almost guaranteed to use his A1 at least 5 times and the 10% damage boost is always a plus. I also think that it would be more beneficial to use Sniper rather than Kill Streak. Granted, this one is more of a user preference thing, but Kael is an awesome Clan Boss champ and you wouldn’t get any benefit to using Kill Streak on the Clan Boss. Now using him in the dungeon, that probably makes sense.
I almost feel as though having a separate Mastery chart for Clan Boss and Dungeon would make a lot of sense for this champion. The reason for this is because of the aforementioned Kill Streak/Sniper Mastery and another one would be Shield Breaker, not very useful against the Clan Boss, but probably great against the Magic Keep. It’s honestly a toss up on which of the remaining two offense masteries one should use, but both would be better for the clan boss.
By the way, thank you for putting this site together, it is very helpful and greatly appreciated

  65. Xelset

    @Araviel:

Lifesteal also works on warmaster proc, healing your champ to full

  66. JCal123

Imo the Shield Breaker mastery isnt worth it. If you are using him in arena hes most likely going last on your team after your debuffers and such. The opponents heros shouldnt have much if any shield left at that point by the time Kaels turn comes. Heart of Glory feels like more of a garuantee to do extra dmg on avg than Shield Breaker to me.

  67. BilliBill

    @Araviel;
Because while you hit CB he will hit you too, and CB hit harder and harder the more you attack him.
To get more points you want to stay alive longer, and the HP/Defence substats help you to stay alive longer.
The Lifesteal just refills your HP, not ‘keep you alive’ , the harder the boss hit you the more HP/Defence you want…

  68. Araviel

For clan boss, I don’t understand the point to a full hp defense substat WHILE using a lifesteal set… if someone clan enlight me please

  69. Dr.hog

I also was wondering about those. They dont seem quite accurate.

  70. Alex Mulcahy

    Why not Lifesteal?

  71. Carbunc

Also charged focus over exalt in death for cb

  72. Carbunc

Why shield breaker on CB mastery list? CB doesn’t shield himself seems like heart of glory would be better for overall dps

@RastalRahl: Kael isn’t effective and efficient in Fire Knight Dungeon as his A1 skill is only a 1 hit. I have already tested this out in Fire Knight Dungeon 15~20 with my Level 60 Kael (6 Star Fully Ascended, Fully Geared with Accessories).

  74. RastalRahl

Why just 2/5 in Fire Knight’s Castle?

  75. Ayumilove Post author

@Gorthor: Six star Kael first. He excels in almost all areas compared to Luthiea, and he is easier to get fully skill booked since Rare Skill Tomes are easier to obtained compared to Epic Skill Tomes.

  76. Gorthor

Who should I six star first? Kael or luthiea?

  77. j4zss

    @frantennis
    The maths is ATK * (1+C.RATE) * (1+C.DMG)

Moreover, Kael ends up with something like 3k ATk with artifacts and ascend

So the +75 ATK are insignifiant

  78. frantennis

@Aeolwind but I gess you can also get the 100% C.DMG with your set, so the overall is the same, but you end having more damage with +75 ATK

  79. Stefan

    Hello “Collecter”

Thy for this very special guide. Just read a part of all, but…wow.
    Greeting from switzerland.

    Stefan

  80. Aeolwind

@frantennis I think the fact you can get over 100% crit damage & 100% crit rate is what scoots it in that direction.

  81. frantennis

I have 1 question about the first mastery point in the ATK branch. In my opinion you should put the point on +75 ATK and this is why:

You can calculate your average damage as: ATK*(1+C.RATE*C.DMG). For Kael at lvl 60 we have: ATK = 1200, C.RATE = 0.15 and C.DMG = 0.57. With this, the average damage is 1302. If we put the first mastery in +75 ATK, we obtain 1384 average damage. If we put the first mastery in +0.05 C.RATE, we obtain 1337 of average damage, so, it is obvious that +75 ATK is better than +0.05 C.RATE.

My question is, am I missing something?

@BigTimeGames: There are no nerf implemented by Plarium. Currently, the ranking are being reworked using a more systematic rating score table, rather than based on the one extracted from the in-game ratings. I discovered that it is somehow inaccurate as players may just score all 5 stars without testing him in all the fields first.

  83. Ayumilove Post author

@Gaggle7722: The ranking is based on evaluating all the fields he performs. Kael is God Tier in some areas but not all of them, therefore Kael is given a lower overall rank. It’s just a reference to indicate whether the champion is good everywhere or less areas. I personally have a Level 60 Kael and have tested him in Dungeons, Clan Boss, Campaign and Faction Wars along with the other 4 starter champions 🙂

  84. Ayumilove Post author

@Logan: I own 4 starter champions (Galek, Kael, Athel and Elhain) and have tested them. Galek is the rank lowest among all the starter champions when evaluated in all fields (Clan Boss, Dungeons, Arena, Campaign). Galek is mostly used for fast single-attacker takedown enemy champions. His usefulness quickly diminishes as you progress further in-game. Reason being, his debuff inflicts 30% Decrease Defense and requires a pre-condition to trigger the 60% Decrease Defense. In addition, other champions can provide Speed Buff to keep the team in sync, with Turn Meter increase, etc. However, Galek can still be used in Faction Wars if there are no good Orc champions in your belt to play with.

  85. Bawsax

Also….Thank you to the creator of this amazing site. I would have been so lost without it’s guidance and logical layout. Awesome work!!!

  86. Bawsax

Nerfed so hard. F2P original char nerfed to rebalance other chars and make way for new ones coming. Sad for us who have spent time and in some cases money to get Kael and the others to a good level. Can I take his armour off for free now he is crapola? Nope. I mourn him and the other victims in my collection. I Love this game as hard as Kael was nerfed x

  87. Logan

    you have the best website
is kael the best starter because I do not now becouse someone said is galek
so can you get in touch 😉

  88. Gaggle7722

I think he should be put in god tier

  89. BigTimeGames

Several Champs (including Kael) dropped out of God Tier as of Jan4.2020, nerf or reworking numbers?

  90. Heavy10mm

I just can’t thank you enough for all of the work you’ve put into this “Encyclopædia et Dixisse”. You’re amazing!
