Joan The Luminant Overview
Joan the Luminant enters Raid Shadow Legends as a Mythical Magic support champion of the Banner Lords, a figure whose presence radiates both serenity and divine wrath. Her lore ties her to Lumaya herself, standing steadfast during the Great Divorce, embodying the courage of a warrior who once wandered peaceful lands before becoming a beacon of hope. In her base form, Joan wears regal blue and white armor trimmed in gold, a radiant tabard, and a shield that recalls the protection she once offered to the Firstborn. When she transforms, her alternate form emerges almost celestial: glowing eyes, ceremonial plates reshaped into radiant armor, and luminous blades floating behind her like wings. This duality defines her role in Teleria, a champion who begins as a guardian stabilizing her allies, then shifts into a punishing executioner who turns Resistance into raw damage. Joan is not simply a warrior; she is a myth brought to life, capable of adapting to the battlefield with divine precision.
In her base form, Joan’s skills are centered on restoration, cleansing, and resilience. Her Sacred Lance (A1) strikes a single enemy while healing all allies, with the healing scaling from their Resistance and Max HP. This attack carries a chance to spread buffs across the team, ensuring that protective effects ripple outward to strengthen the entire formation. It is a deceptively simple strike that sustains allies while amplifying their defenses, making Joan invaluable in prolonged encounters. Her Symbol of Hope (A2) elevates her role further, cleansing all debuffs from allies before placing powerful Increase ATK and Increase RES buffs for three turns. She also fills their Turn Meters, ensuring that her team maintains momentum even under heavy pressure. These abilities make Joan a cornerstone in battles where survival and tempo dictate victory, her presence turning fragile lines into unyielding bulwarks.
Her restorative power reaches its peak with Faith Restored (A3), a skill that revives a fallen ally with 75% HP, grants them Unkillable for two turns, and immediately provides an instant turn. This ensures that allies return to the fight not as liabilities but as immediate contributors, often swinging the tide of battle. Supporting this is her Eternally Adored (Passive), which increases allies’ damage against enemies with lower Resistance by 15%. More importantly, it reacts to enemy revives by instantly triggering Faith Restored on a dead ally, or Symbol of Hope if none are fallen. This makes Joan uniquely suited to counter teams that rely on resurrection, punishing their attempts to prolong combat. Together, her base form skills embody her lore as Lumaya’s steadfast protector: a champion who cleanses, revives, and empowers, ensuring her allies endure even the harshest trials.
When Joan shifts into her alternate form, her identity transforms from guardian to executioner. Her Radiant Blades (A1) attacks all enemies individually, dealing single-target damage to each foe rather than a traditional AoE strike. With every counterattack, she increases the Ignore DEF effect of this skill by 5%, stacking up to 25%, and deals double damage when counterattacking. This makes her a relentless punisher in drawn-out fights, striking harder the longer she endures. Her Pierced By Light (A2) continues this offensive momentum, stealing 25% of each enemy’s Turn Meter before attacking, an effect that cannot be resisted. The damage scales further against enemies with lower Resistance, and Joan shields herself with Block Damage for two turns, blending offense with survival. These abilities allow her to dismantle defensive teams and control the pace of battle, ensuring that foes cannot stall her advance.
Her finishing power lies in Seraphic Swoop (A3), a devastating triple strike against a single enemy that ignores Shield, Block Damage, and Unkillable buffs, while also bypassing 35% of DEF against targets with lower Resistance. If the target is slain, Joan places a Block Revive debuff, denying resurrection; if the target survives, she gains an Extra Turn, allowing her to immediately continue the assault. This execution skill is supported by Lumaya’s Glory (Passive), which reduces incoming damage from enemies with lower Resistance by 15% and grants her a protected Counterattack buff at the end of her turn. Combined with her transformation skill Metamorph, which allows her to shift forms and gain an Extra Turn, and her powerful Resist Aura that increases ally Resistance in all battles by 80, Joan becomes a champion of duality. In her alternate form she embodies divine retribution, punishing enemies who rely on defensive buffs or resurrection, and ensuring that once she strikes, her foes remain fallen. Joan the Luminant is thus both protector and executioner, a Mythical champion whose adaptability and divine presence make her one of the most formidable figures in Raid Shadow Legends.

Joan the Luminant Champion Lore Synopsis
Joan the Luminant began her life wandering a peaceful world filled with clear rivers, gentle hills, and thick forests. She delighted in everything Lumaya and Siroth had shaped and felt a deep devotion to both gods. When Siroth rose against Lumaya, her heart broke. She rushed to stand at Lumaya’s side and fought without rest throughout the Great Divorce. On the battlements she shone with radiant light, lifting the spirits of the Firstborn around her. Even as she clashed with the followers of Siroth, she carried no hatred and saw only the sadness of a conflict that should never have happened.
When Lumaya and the Arbiter sealed the Firstborn within the Halls of Eternity, Joan felt as if a part of her had been taken. She longed for Teleria and Kaerok, the lands she cherished. The Halls seemed dull and empty, and she drifted through them without joy. Many years later the Arbiter reopened a path to Teleria, calling the Firstborn back to resist Siroth’s growing power. Joan volunteered at once, ready to serve again beside Lady Noelle and Sir Nicholas.
Her return to Anhelt filled her with delight. She breathed in the familiar air and listened to birdsong, yet the scent of smoke and the cries of the frightened made the danger clear. This was the Age of Hellfire, when Demonspawn and Undead ravaged the land. Joan travelled across Kaerok for two centuries, cutting down Siroth’s forces and lifting the hearts of everyone she met. Even those who had lost everything felt hope stir again when she smiled at them. A brief pause came before the Second Great War, though Joan sensed no suggestion of the storm that would follow.
During the long war that followed, Joan fought from the very first clash to the last. She never strayed far from the front, restoring courage to broken soldiers simply by standing with them. Her presence eased the minds of those driven close to madness by the horrors of Anathraad. Alongside Lady Noelle and Sir Nicholas she carved through waves of Undead and Demonspawn, and their bond grew even stronger. Away from the battlefield she devoted herself to the wounded and the frightened, visiting camps and makeshift shelters with gentle compassion. Her kindness inspired even a few Demonspawn to abandon Siroth.
Long after victory was won, the Red Crusade began. Joan, angered by the Sacred Order’s cruelty toward other peoples of Anhelt, left the Order and nearly returned to the Halls of Eternity. At the final moment she stayed, realising Teleria still needed her. She lived quietly from then on, guiding refugees and fighting hidden threats. Though she slipped from sight, her memory endured. Shrines honour her in secret, and parents across Kaerok still name their daughters after the champion they have never forgotten.
