Inquisitor Shamael Skills

Wreak Revenge
Attacks 1 enemy. Has a 50% chance of decreasing the duration of a random buff on the target by 1 turn. Counterattacks with this skill each time an enemy places a debuff on an ally. These counterattacks will only deal 50% of the normal damage and cannot be critical.
Level 2: Damage +5%
Level 3: Buff/Debuff Chance +5%
Level 4: Damage +10%
Level 5: Buff/Debuff Chance +10%
Level 6: Damage +10%
Level 7: Buff/Debuff Chance +10%
Level 8: Damage +15%
Damage Multiplier: 2.9 ATK

Cow the Horrors (Cooldown: 3 turns)
Attacks 1 enemy 3 times. Will ignore 25% of the target’s DEF. Will ignore a further 25% of the target’s DEF for each buff on this Champion. Places a [True Fear] debuff on all enemies for 1 turn if this attack kills an enemy.
Level 2: Damage +10%
Level 3: Damage +10%
Level 4: Damage +15%
Damage Multiplier: 2 ATK

Dauntless (Passive)
Each critical hit fills this Champion’s Turn Meter by 7.5%. Whenever an ally receives a [Fear] or [True Fear] debuff, this skill will instantly remove the debuff and fill the ally’s Turn Meter by 15%.
This passive skill boosts the turn meter of a teammate at the front of the team lineup (like the Leader Position). If the ally in the front is out of action, it’ll target the next Champion highest in the team position instead.

Aura
Increases Ally ACC in Doom Tower battles by 60.

Inquisitor Shamael Review

Meet Inquisitor Shamael, a formidable epic champion hailing from the Sacred Order Faction in Raid Shadow Legends, boasting an eye scar that rivals even the infamous Scar himself.

Prior to the introduction of Hydra in Raid, Shamael possessed a remarkable ability to single out and obliterate a chosen enemy’s HP bars. This was achieved through his awe-inspiring A2 skill, which enabled him to bypass 100% defense when facing opponents with fewer than three buffs. To maximize this devastating potential, one can employ a Bloodshield accessory alongside an Immunity or Shield Artifact set. By implementing this strategy, all that is required is an Increase Attack buff. The initial attack grants a miniature shield in addition to the shield set, allowing the second and third strikes to effortlessly ignore 100% defense. For those seeking an extra dose of amusement in the arena or formidable waves in the doom tower, fielding two Shamael champions promises an exhilarating experience.

Following the introduction of Hydra, Shamael discovered a new role by capitalizing on his passive ability. When the Head of Torment is in rotation, Shamael ensures that no fears ever take hold, simultaneously fueling his own Turn Meter and that of your leading champion. To unleash colossal damage numbers, consider employing an Area of Effect (AoE) champion such as Cupidus or Ma’Shalled in the lead position. Undoubtedly, Shamael stands as one of the finest epic champions within the game, warranting substantial investment.

Inquisitor Shamael Champion Lore

Despite the bright white of their garb and the pretty words of their magistrates, the Sacred Order’s chief purpose is war. The Sacred Order peddles death, but it is an immutable fact that those who live by the sword will often die by it. And so the Sacred Order must always grow, lest it bleed itself dry before it can kill all of its enemies.

Manyjoin the Sacred Order willingly, entering its territorial realm, the Lands of Rebirth, to cast off their old names and old sins, becoming someone new in exchange for ten years of service. But volunteers alone are not enough to keep the ranks full. Sacred Order recruiters regularly march out of the Lands of Rebirth to Kaerok, Frostheim, and the Free Cities, and while they try to find the best and brightest in all of Teleria, in hard times they will take anyone. When they found Shamael as a young child, however, they were anything but disappointed.

Many people of Anhelt assume that the bizarre tests the Sacred Order recruiters employ are entirely contrived. Onlookers have no idea whether or not words or actions of the young children examined are ‘good’ or otherwise, and the Order always seems to take who it wants. On occasion, multiple children have even responded entirely differently to the same test, and yet all have been taken regardless. But those tests must measure something real, because when a group of Sacred Order knights tested Shamael, they were visibly shocked and thrilled. They demanded that he depart with them immediately. His mother resisted – if she were to let Shamael be taken, she might never see him again. Her resistance was useless. Shamael was pulled from her arms, and the soldiers left her weeping behind them, begging them to show mercy.

Shamael was too young to remember much of what that felt like – to be kidnapped, have one future ripped away, and another forced upon him. He was encouraged to forget. His memories of home faded quickly, and before long they lingered only in his subconscious and his dreams. As he grew older, he held a private longing for a woman he could not quite recall – a woman with tear-filled eyes, but whose face was only a blur. But he did not have much time to devote to these thoughts.

Shamael’s life became one of relentless physical training, rigorous study, and unfailing religious devotion, and his potential lived up to the promises of his early testing. He was a quick study in both the martial and the scholastic arts and he amazed his tutors in every field. His excellence alienated him from his peers, leaving his station atop his class a lonely one — until the day he met Athel.

@mike – cause he sucks in toxic gear! I tried him in toxic and he just dies all the time and is always in the lowest in damage. I put some really good pieces on him as well. He sucks intoxic gear. I’m going to put him in reflex gear so he’s constantly hitting that a2 and doing some damage

  2. Turok

How does shamael not have a hydra rating. He has to be the single handed most valuable character on a hydra build.

  3. Mike

Why is there no mention of shamel in toxic set. I have amazing results.

  4. Kratos

I was just wondering if anyone has an all-rounder build of this guy???

  5. Moontramp

    @kp
Pretty sure that your very true comment was meant for @Floyd, not @David.
Nevertheless, your advice was spot on.

    @David
    Never chicken a epic void.
Never chicken a epic for that matter.
Use up all your dupes in the guardians ring, then start booking the dupes into a single epic.
Only then when you’ve got all your guardians filled and atleast one epic fully booked can you chicken them.

Why is he rated so low for Nether Spider? His passive counter punched holes straight through Agreth because he counters every time she (or a spiderling) places poisons. He was MVP for getting me though hard DT Nether Spider. As long as you have the cleanse & revive to keep him alive (which you need anyway for that boss), I personally think Shamael should be rated at least a 4/5 stars for Nether Spider because he racks up MASSIVE damage countering all those poisons.

  8. WileyMan

To those wondering about Sniper as a Mastery, Sniper would add an extra 5% chance to extend the debuff on his A1. By design, he uses the A1 a lot, and Sniper makes it an 80% chance (Vs 75%). I am sure that is why Ayumi selected Sniper.

  9. David

They are in the process of nerfing the mastery deterrence, specifically because of this champ and effect or it against the Hydra. Be sure to factor this in if you’re currently building him. He’ll still be very good, but not the carry people got used to for Hydra.

  10. Floyd

Dude I chickened this guy cause I didn’t like him, now I realize my mistake.

  11. Perico

He is OP on Hydra with his passive against the head that places fear. Really useful.

  12. Butrdtost

@Mike Lyman I can confirm that he DOES counter Multiple times when getting debuffs from CB. I’ve also tested WM and it doesn’t proc more than once, HOWEVER Giant Slayer DOES 😀 5 chances of getting Giant Slayer every 5 turns is pretty sick 😀

  13. Vedrex86

Just pulled this guy on a fairly new account, can you reach a half decent potential with this guy without having incredible gear on him? He does seem very gear dependant but i’m hoping with a few buffs on him he’ll stick rip stuff apart? (currently doing the main dungeons at around 13-16)

  14. darwin180985

honestly yes I see it with scarab king. but after i found out you can just put blood rings on all your champs the scarab goes down easy no matter the level. Just need to stick out a few clan v clan wins….But along that same line he looks like a bomball mvp. I am having a huge issue with bomball right now and honestly…the second I pulled him it *looks* like a match made in heaven yea? the boss is throwing bomb and hp burn debuffs out there like candy and I can only imagine he will absolutely crush there. The only way these counterattacks will make him worth it tho is if he procs giant slayer with his counterattacks…if not then the only other way for him to do real damage i’m thinking is to put him in a toxic set. Not the greatest gear…but 10 x 2.5% poison debuffs adds up with how often bomball takes a turn/extra turn. We’ll see!

  15. GΩD ΣΔTΣR

Is nobody seriously seeing synergy between him and scarab king ? This prawn boss puts true fear and fear every 3 turns and this champion counters it. On top of it he counters for every debuff placed by enemy with ability that has 75% chance to decrease duration of buffs that are potentially stolen, and scarab king places debuffs according to presence of shield and other buffs.

  16. Timbo 23

Methodical would also be a good choice since he will be using default ALOT!

  17. Ayumilove Post author

@Lane: I have corrected Inquisitor Shamael mastery image to use Spirit Haste instead of Sniper. Thanks!

  18. Lane

Why does the top Mastery chart show Sniper but list Spirit Haste?

  19. Timbo 23

What about a Retaliation set? Counter attacks when hit, counterattacks every debuff, and still get his own attacks. Gonna give it a shot

  20. Karbin

    @Gary Barnet

I think you are correct. Sniper is useless as a mastery for this champ with the gear that is recommended. If using the support tree, then Spirit Haste is the only usable mastery on the 5* line.

  21. Argon

I’ve got Opportunist and Harvest despair masteries on Shamael and it works quite well. He usually kills someone with his A2, so 60% to place Leech isn’t bad IMHO and +12% damage to targets under True fear either.

  22. KodiakCS

Shamael will kill your party if you do not resist the Nether-spiderlings!

  23. thomas

An alternate build for this dude is to stick him in a stun/sleep set and let him try to debuff enemies when he gets one of his many counter attacks.

  24. Gary Barnet

Don’t understand why you have “sniper” in the masteries.
His only debuff is true fear and simper does not improve the chances of this debuff – so it does nothing.
I would prefer the speed mastery next to it.

Can anyone please explain where I am wrong??

  25. Picachu

Why he does not appear on ranking list? he should be S tier i guess

  26. Mike Lyman

Has anyone tested if giant slayer procs multiple times on cb when he counter attacks?
