Hope Storyline
Sister Hope does much to honour her name, both on the battlefield and by her kind deeds. A simple miller’s daughter, she was orphaned at a young age by a brutal orc raid. It was only a timely intervention by the Sacred Order outrider patrol that saved the girl from sharing the fate of her family, although starving to death was not a much better prospect. Fortunately for Hope, her plea did not go unheard and she was adopted into one of the Order’s abbeys, there to be educated and trained. Crafstmen and caterers of all sorts are always in demand, and it is to everyone’s benefit if orphans and the destitute that the Order cares for repay their debt by a life-long dedication. But it was not a life of peace that Hope sought. Her experiences have molded the young woman and drove her to excel in the ways of war. She swore a mighty oath to Lumaya, pleading the Goddess to give her strength, so that by Hope’s hand atrocities such as what has been inflicted upon her family can be prevented. Whether it is Lumaya’s grace indeed or the strength of Hope’s own conviction, but she has forged her path as a champion of the innocent ever since. She does not flinch in delivering ruthless justice to the unholy and the lawless, but it is her kindness and selfless devotion to her allies that make Hope a boon for any band of Champions. Her faith alone can serve as a powerful shield to those at her side, yet her wrath is terrible to behold as well. Her blade can do much more than simply break armour and rend flesh. By the power of faith, it dispells protective magic that many-an-enemy uses, exposing them to Hope’s fellow Champions.

I use Hope agains Scarab King paired with Valk. She extends Valk’s sheild and counter attack so it’s always up, and places a block buffs on the scarab king so even if he removes any buffs, he can’t steal them. I have her acc up high, but not high enough for DT hard (My gear isn’t OP).
@Potloodje Yes, I meant Kyoku’s a3. And Hellborn Sprite is a LOT slower than Hope so how could it be any better? Also, none of Hellborn Sprite’s other abilities scream CB either. So what’s the difference besides Hope being a LOT easier to keep alive? And besides Hope being able to also help out with a shield? You ask me, Hope should be rated higher.
@RelativeNewbie I think you are Talking about Kyoku’s A3. That’s basicly a 3 turn CD for a 2 turn buff. You have to run hope way faster then some other champs with a buff extend on a 3 turn CD. Her other skills don’t really scream CB if you ask me. You would be better off with Hellborn Sprite.
I’m thinking she would be even more useful than 3* in Clan Boss with the right companion champs. I have Kyoku, for example, so that a2 of Hope’s pairs really well with Kyoku’s a2, making sure that it always stays up regardless of whether you’ve booked Kyoku or not.
. . . and of course you need to have her ascended to at least 3* in order to get her the buff removal ability. If you get her fully booked and ascended, and give her plenty of ACC, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed any more.
@Laguna Gu: How much ACC do you have on her? Which level of magic keep boss: could be the boss’s RES is higher than you expected, hence you need more ACC? Do you have her A3 fully booked?
I’ve geared Hope as above and try and try again she NEVER debuffs magic keep boss. She is my most infuriatingly hated toon.
I would like to make a correction… Sniper only works for her chance to place a (block buffs) debuff. so maybe not as useful as i thought it would be lol. So master hexer seems like the better choice, but my other choices remain the same, will update if i decide i don’t like the choices i made lol
I am taking a different approach to the Support tree.
1. Pinpoint Accuracy
2. Shield Bearer and Exalt in Death
3. Healing Savior and Rapid Response
4. Merciful Aid and Lore of Steel
5. Lasting Gifts and Sniper
I use her on scarab, but she has only a 2 turn shield with a 4 turn cool down. So you need enough resistance to not get provoked…. Her 1 turn extension on all buffs on her A2 needs to be on A3 for a better performance. Valerie does this better…
Anyone tried Hope against the Scarab King?
Very interesting, everybody. I’ll have to take another look! This is good news, as I WANT to like this champion.
Her Level 3: Buff/Debuff Chance is not +5%, it is +10%
This is great as she can potentially (fully booked) have a 50% chance to block buffs on an enemy for two turns.
Honest Review Time: Because This champion is so Underrated it isn’t even funny.
Hope has always been a B Rank Tier Champion to me and with the Last Patch. She is Easily A Tier Now, next to Warden who is honestly my other second Favorite who used to be an Under-ranked Champion.
Credentials: Been using Hope for over a year now. She was my first 6* Epic, Fully Booked, Full Mastery.
Hope’s Kit is amazing in the form of Utility her only glaring flaw is the fact she Scales with ATK instead of HP but honestly, despite that She still does respectable damage in Arena and in Dungeons.
Her A1 Giving Buff Block now at 50% Is amazing and in Line with most Debuff Kits like that. With Counter attack builds, or even Being Provoked. You quickly shut down Enemy Teams.
A2: Especially After the Buff, This is one of nicest A2’s Shielding all Allies at 30% Booked ~ AND Extends ALL Buffs by one turn. This is massive people. It doesn’t effect Revive on Death etc. But it does Extend ALL Champions that have that Massive 50% Atk up for 1 Turn, Speed Buffs, Debuff Block, Ally Protect, Cont Heal.
–Keep in Mind people she is one of 6 Champions in the entire game that can do this
This fixes the issue of having gaps in Buffs in battles and Especially in CB when you are one shot often if your buffs expire, (Buffer Is Froze/Stunned for a Turn even if they can rotate as fast as the buff lasts) The cooldown is a little lengthy but its a Massive 30% Adding Tens of Thousands of Shield on a Hero that Mine Currently has about 68k Without Aura.
A3: Deals Damage to All Enemies and 50% (75%) Full Buff Wipe on a 4(3B) Cooldown? Don’t have to tell you how many times this come’s in handy in Arena Alone and any Dungeon with Stubborn Buff Boss’s. Compared to the Epic Champions with this Skill?
–Serris 100% Chance on 6 Turns (4B) Hope Wins that unbooked and is mathematically even Booked at 75% 3 Turns)
–Seer- 6 Turn (4 B) And.. also Strips your Allies buffs too mind you.
–Sikara 5 Turn (4 B) Strange Application, hits enemies and 40% (60%B) chance to strip 1 buff each hit. 3 hits.
—Ranking vs What Site Has—
Campaign she easily is a 4 star. Wiping buffs every round alone is a major utility and her in a Shield Set + Her A2 Make’s even Nightmare Mode a breeze through every Chapter as an OffTank Support.
Faction Wars: Absolutely 5 Star. She Solos up to Second Floor Boss
Spiders Den: This one is Strange, The Fact she Shields and Protects the entire party on top of having an AOE Attack that on a short cooldown to Clean up Left over Spiderlings alone Deserves a 3 Star. Her Attack is Respectable enough and she can Tank Spiderlings without any effort. If you are judging on clearly Spiders and Killing Spider Queen as fast as Possible from a DPS Perspective than obviously She’s a 1. If you are talking about enabling the people like Cold Heart, Venus, etc to do that job without dying extremely Easy? Then her rating is ALOT Higher.
@Amon: I have revised Hope’s rating for Magic Keep (4 to 5), Faction Wars (3 to 5), Arena Offense (3 to 5) and Arena Defense (3 to 4).
Shouldn’t hope have 5* in faction wars and magic keep as she can act as a great debuff stripper like Seer

This is one of those disappointing champions with excellent art. I kind of wish there would be a better match between how great the modeling is and how great the champion is in general. Hope, Witness, Pitiless One, Hexia, Frostbringer, Slayer, Ox, Elder, Woad-Painted, Seducer, Adjudicator, Deathless, etc. … all meh but look great (I could go on). BigUn, Maneater, Apothecary, Rhazin, etc.–wtf? These guys need to look better.
@Androgamer – Dunno how you think Hope is anywhere near Sethallia.
I wish they would buff Hope as well as she’s my first fully booked epic and it would not be that tough. Maybe make her attacks scale off HP, decrease CD on the shield or increase buffs after or have it scale of max HP.

just pulled Hope from a random ancient shard, after checking her skills i was surprised with how good and underrated she is. i have sethalia and after the buff she is 5 star in most areas, the thing is hope has similar skill set to sethalia. a1 Sethalia hp burn, Hope block buffs (lower chance). a2 Sethalia aoe heal and 1 target remove debuffs with possible turn meter boost, Hope aoe good shield with aoe buff extension (better skill). a3 Sethalia aoe remove buffs with some turn meter manipulation, Hope aoe attack with aoe remove buffs (lower chance but with aoe attack).
so i think she should be rated as high as sethalia and she is an epic easier to get and book 🙂
@GoreTaint: Thanks for your comment! I have updated Hope’s equipment guide to be a more of a Supportive champion role with more Defense and especially more HP to take advantage of her A2 skill.
Sorry, but I don’t understand your gear setup on her. She needs HP for her A2 and you give her 2 Offense sets? With the ratings ok, because her A1 is terrible but I guess it’s important to give her life for her good support skill(A2). With the ratings I’m with you, because she needs too much accuracy, speed and life to be effective – even tough I can understand the ratings on her. With her, you have a better chance to survive in the arena, if you don’t have Gorgorab.
Her A3 has a 50% chance of removing all the enemy buffs.
@trey: you have to ascend her to rank 3 to get the “remove all buff” improved version for a3.
Why is Hope so highly rated in the game (lowest rating is 4.1 in the Fire Cave) but so low rated here?

A3 got a huge nerf – I don’t know when. Right now it is not to remove all buffs it’s to decrease all buff uptime by 1 turn.
