Fenax Overview

Hailing from the esteemed Sacred Order, Fenax is an Epic spirit affinity champion in Raid Shadow Legends. His reputation as a formidable foe is well-earned, primarily due to his unique skill of blocking enemy revivals with his primary attack. His strikes are not just powerful, they’re like thunderbolts from the heavens, leaving enemies wondering if they were hit by a sword or a meteor!

Put Down (A1 ability) is Fenax’s signature skill as it is a game-changer in Ice Golem battles, effectively neutralizing the pesky sidekicks and ensuring they don’t come back for an unwanted encore. In the arena, he’s a nightmare for teams relying on resurrection tactics. His Stern Partner (A2 ability) attack is a spectacular display of area damage, which, when paired with Tallia, is like watching a choreographed dance of destruction, albeit a dance that might not win any awards at the “Battle Arts Festival”! Last but not least, his Sow Feebleness (A3 ability) inflicts Decrease Defense and Decrease Speed debuff, great for slowing down bosses and enabling your team to deal more damage to that opponent!

Strategically, Fenax shines brightest when he’s part of a team that can trigger his primary attack more often, like those with Counter Attack or Ally Join Attack abilities. An interesting trivia about his Block Revive skill – it’s as accurate as a cat landing on its feet, requiring no accuracy to be effective. It’s as if he says, “Revive? I don’t think so!” and the enemies just agree. Remember, in Fenax’s world, “No Revival” signs are always up, and they’re not just for decoration!

Fenax Champion Lore

Fenax was born the youngest son of a destitute noble family in Kaerok. He was placed into the household of his father’s lord as a squire at an early age, to be fed as much as to learn to be a knight. But knighthood held little interest for young Fenax; instead, he found himself more inclined to seek the company of his new lord’s daughter, Tallia. The two children soon became fast friends, and rarely a day went past that Fenax didn’t duck his squire’s responsibilities in order to spend time with Tallia.

Nonetheless, Tallia’s father saw in Fenax the potential to be not just a knight, but a great one. Despite his disinterest in it, Fenax excelled in his training, displaying great skill with a blade and in the saddle. And while Fenax was never the wisest of squires, and his foolishness often led to trouble, he nonetheless showed a certain amount of wit, as when he talked his way out of a duel with a knight he’d inadvertently insulted or when he was captured by bandits and convinced them to spare his life by giving them the location of a ‘great treasure’ far away.

But as time went on and Fenax and Tallia approached adulthood, their friendship evolved into something more intimate. Too late, Tallia’s father realized that their relationship had deepened into love, and though Fenax would soon be a knight, he was not a worthy match for the daughter of a lord of Kaerok. Rumors about the two were already flying, and could endanger Tallia’s chances of finding a partner of suitable rank.

Tallia’s father sought the counsel of one of his advisors, a priest of the Sacred Order. The priest, seeing an opportunity to add another soul to the Order’s ranks, advised his lord to send Fenax to the Eternal Citadel, ostensibly as a messenger. Once there, Fenax would be forcibly inducted into the Order as an Armiger. While the Sacred Order preferred volunteers, it was not above taking on reluctant converts when the opportunity presented itself. The priest assured Tallia’s father that once Fenax saw that his options were limited, he would surely become accustomed to his new role.

Fenax was sent on his mission the next day, as far as he was concerned to deliver a message to the Order on behalf of his lord. By the time he realized his lord’s duplicity, it was already too late. His days soon blurred into a punishing regimen of training and catechism, as his new masters sought to break him of any hope of returning to either Kaerok, or Tallia.

Fenax had never been one to accept defeat; he charmed his new superiors with his wit and skill, gained their trust and worked out a plan of escape. But on the day he’d chosen for his attempt, a new recruit arrived at the Citadel. A familiar one, at that.

It was Tallia. When Fenax greeted her in overjoyed amazement, Tallia smiled and said that she intended to share his life, wherever it might take them. When he’d asked her how she’d known his whereabouts, she replied that Lumaya herself had shown her the way. Fenax, not so foolish as to look a gift horse in the mouth, said that if Lumaya had reunited them, then they had best repaythefavon

The two have served the Sacred Order well in the years since, and together, they have battled the forces of Darkness on dozens of battlefields. Their service has taken them throughout Anhelt and most recently into Peltas, and they have rarely left one another’s side.

Need to ascend for a1 to work

  2. mike

I just got him and his A1 did not block revive.

  3. Juddstar1

He still has block revive on his a1

  4. mac

not sure what happened, but fenax no longer has block revive. did they mod it out?

  5. Will

is it just me or does he look like jared leto

  6. Shivaprasad Savagave

He is my main block revive champion for arena and other battles. He has good A1 attack with extra hit.

  7. Lisa Collins

I have dup of this guy and no luck with either in different gear. He is horrible for me. Oh well. 😂

  8. Krego

@Ian Judd I have notice that as well… Romero’s avatar image is a spitten image of Jamie Lannister from Game of Thrones.

  9. Bob

    Shield (Attack)
Didnt know there was such an artifact.

  10. Toetag

@Ian, Chancellor Yasmine is a very obvious Yasmine Bleeth tribute (portrait)

@Xandina: I have updated Fenax rating for Fire Knight from 1 star to 3 star for his multi-hit and high damage on his A1 skill, paired with the long skill cooldown for the Decrease Speed. Other than that, he does not have much use for other skills.

  12. Xandina

Fenax 1 star fight knight with a 2 hit A1? What planet are you on?

  13. Ian Judd

There’s lot’s of images in Raid Shadow Legends which are clearly based on actors… And this guy looks so much like Sharlto Copley from District 9 (and it looks clear that this was taken directly from Maleficent)!

What other characters can you see looking like real life people?

  14. Ayumilove Post author

@Jon: Fenax has a long skill cooldown, which makes him not so effective in battle, except for his Block Revive skill for specific usecase.

  15. Jon

In my eyes Fenax should be S teir. Why you rank him so low is weird

  16. Eddie

You need to specify what kind of champion you are looking for. Post questions on Reddit or Discord. Most likely to be answered there.

  17. Thomas Fredriksen Berg

What is the best epic and legandary heroes to use the arena???

And the same who is the best to use in fireknight caste…please tell me more than 5 so I have someone to chose betwin thank you😊

  18. Craig

He’s worth having simply for his A1.

  19. Drewquo

Oh, I see: Block Revive is not a Debuff but a passive skill. My bad!

  20. Drewquo

Fenax is listed as a “Block Revive” hero, but I don’t see that among his skills.

  21. Mark Graven

Fenax for Fire Knight is really good. He can take down the waves and has a double hit on his A1 (Boss always has many debuffs). I use him on my team for FK20, really solid champ overall

  22. thomas stadler

Awesome champion and super valuable for the Stage 21 Faction Boss. His A1 will permanently kill the bosses minions meaning with time you can defeat the henchman and only have to deal with a now relatively weaker faction boss.

  23. Arim

@BlueBird I think he looks just like Joe Manganiello. Look up his pic and you’ll see what I mean.

  24. Cryonisis

Worth going down defence tree now that [Block Revive] can activate after target death?

  25. Tom Chapman Barros-Wing

FINALLY pulled Fenax today, after 2 years of playing. He was my first epic in my old abandoned F2P account, and my favorite champion overall. Back then, I didn’t understand how the game worked, so I loaded him with ATK and whatever happened to go with that as an afterthought. He was a BEAST, especially with Tallia also 6-starred. Oh, those Ice Golem runs and Gold IV Arena teams just melted under that bastard sword. Can’t wait to build up one in my real account now, all this time later.

  26. Ayumilove Post author

@Omge: You can use Savage Set, Offense Set, Cruel Set to boost his damage to guarantee a kill to Block Revive the enemy on his A1.

  27. Omge

I feel like nearly every champion here lifesteal is listed as the gear of choice for those fighting in dungeons or cb. Is this defaulted for some reason? What other great can we use if we run out of lifesteal?

  28. Sewersidle

@Ayumilove That’s great, thank you for your advice 🙂

  29. Ayumilove Post author

@Sewersidle: Interesting luck you have there to obtain six Fenax-es. For me, I received five Knight-Errants out of so many Epics found in this game from Ancient Shards. I would keep a copy for Champion Fusion (if Plarium still decides to use this method or use champion fragments for Champion Fusion).

  30. Sewersidle

So, by some wonderful luck I have ended up with no less than six Fenax-es 😛 Is there an merit to keeping more than one or can I use them for skill ups? Thank you!

  31. Mk2017

@Ayumilove I wouldn’t either but sometimes there isn’t much of a choice. It works most of the time especially if you are facing warlord siphi rotos comps. I know he’s green but he can counter rotos comps especially when you are running him alongside 3x shield champs. There aren’t many slower comps that will successfully counter warlord siphi set ups, Foli can but he will most likely get locked out and won’t even guarantee to get of his a3. This is by far the best option when it comes to countering rotos in 3v3 is to run someone like a high resist Ghostborn in shield and 2 other fat HP champs in shield. Fenax can still one shot Rotos even if one of his hits is a weak hit. As long as there’s any debuff on rotos and often times there is since he steam rolls with his extra turns he isn’t that hard to take out. A comp I’m running is MM as lead for shield and fear, ghostborn with 500 resist to not get locked out by warlord, fenax in immunity with 2 divine speed items and jack. All in shield sets, Fenax is last to get targeted

  32. Ayumilove Post author

@Mk17: I would not use Fenax against Rotos the Lost Groom. He will deal less damage against Magic Affinity champions. I build my Fenax with high speed and high damage. He goes after the champion that casts the Decrease Defense debuff, before performing the finishing Block Revive Skill using his A1.

  33. Mk17

@treeFiddy He is insanely underrated in the arena against rotos, siphi, tormin. As long as you know what you are doing and have the right champs you can easily manipulate the AI in 3v3 arena to counter siphi/rotos set ups.
I’ve been testing him a lot and currently have him in immunity gear. Hp boots/hp chest with hp/crit/crit dmg and attack. As far as rotos counters go, I usually roll with at least 2 fat utility champs in shield sets and third is usually ghostborn or serris. Alternatively, you can also run Fenax with 1 ca champ and someone like Hope/Sandlashed also in max shield set and then throw in a debuffer

  34. treeFiddy

Fenax is squishy in the same way that Coldhearts or Royal Guards are. The glass cannon types of heroes just have to be protected, just try to shield, heal or revive them. Teams well with any unkillable hero, Valkyrie or Cardinal (best budget revive). On the upside, he hits so damn hard and his block revive is so much fun in arena it earns him the “poor man’s Rotos” title from me. Aim for >4k ATK, full crit, >120% CDMG and ahap RES, whatever you can muster in HP and DEF. Great against double reviver teams in arena, or if you can protect him long enough even against Rotos/Foli/Zavia.

  35. Ayumilove Post author

@GameKills1188: Yup, he is definitely squishy. Fenax needs to be paired with a Tanker or a good fast healer.

  36. 20Twenty

In the Fire Knight’s castle, although Fenax is inadequate on his own merits – hence the 1 star rating – I find that he’s worth including alongside Tallia (who *is excellent* in there) in order to enable the bomb feature which makes Tallia even more deadly. It’s arguable because he takes up a slot which might be better filled by a better champion, but he’s also useful for clearing the mobs on the way to the boss so I have no regrets in using him there so far (FK 12) and that’s only with both of them at level 40, unbooked If they were ranked & levelled higher than that I’m confident that they’d be too much for the FK boss to handle.

So although the 1 star FK rating is understandable, I think it’s a little misleading so perhaps a footnote could be added to say that he’s 3 or 4 stars if Tallia is with him?

  37. GameKills1188

He can hit pretty hard but very squishy.

  38. LordTegwyn

@BlueBird – that just made my day! May have to make “Sexy Jesus” my new in-game handle.

  39. BlueBird

Absolutely nothing to do with the game, but is it just me or does the hero thumbnail kind of look like Jon Hamm as Jesus? My friends and I have started calling Fenax “Sexy Jesus”. I guess that is what the H. in Jesus H Christ stands for: Hamm.

  40. Ayumilove Post author

@Brayvar: My Fenax who is Level 60 Fully Ascended, I have him equipped with HP% Chestplate and DEF on the Accessories to make him a little more tankier, so he can survive few hits from the enemies. You will need to pair these squishy champions with Healer and Tank (e.g. Miscreated Monster who has Ally Protection to mitigate the incoming damage). I replaced Fenax with Rotos the Lost Groom since he doesn’t have the survivability issue when he steals ENEMY MAX HP.

  41. FishChriser

Attacks 1 with A1. Sorry I’m still learning how to read…

  42. Brayvar

I levelled him to 60 for Ice Golem and didn’t notice how low his base hp and def end up. Very squishy

  43. GatsuBerserk

I have/had Warmaster for my Fenax.
If WM hits, block revive doesn’t.
It’s killing me how awful that trade off is outside CB.

  44. Ayumilove Post author

@Cristian Dalmeida: Fenax is Spirit Affinity who is weak against Magic Affinity. When Fenax goes in battle against a stronger affinity (Magic), he deals less 20% damage (regardless if its a Critical or Normal Hit) and has 35% chance of inflicting a Weak Hit (deals -30% less damage and cannot inflict a debuff unless it mentions cannot be Resisted). In short, he is not suited for Magic Keep although he has the skills to allow him to do the job. His skill will be rendered useless by going against a stronger affinity.

  45. Cristian Dalmeida

Why would you rate Fenax as terrible for Magic Keep when he can block buffs?
