Dune Herald Zaharis Overview
Dune Herald Zaharis is a master of speed manipulation and battlefield control, wielding the winds of the desert to empower his allies while dismantling his enemies. This Legendary Support champion from the Barbarians faction commands an army of hawks that not only protect his team but also disrupt foes with precision and ferocity. His presence on the field grants unparalleled speed boosts, debuff resistance, and strategic advantages through buff-stealing mechanics. Whether you’re battling in PvE or PvP scenarios, Zaharis shines as a versatile support unit capable of turning the tide with his unique skill set. In the following paragraphs, we’ll delve into how his abilities make him indispensable for countering enemy strategies and enabling swift turn cycles.
Zaharis’s utility truly comes alive in modes where speed and crowd control are paramount. With his Booming Voice skill, he places an Intercept stack on a targeted ally, shielding them from crowd-control effects while simultaneously granting Block Debuffs and a substantial Increase Speed buff to the entire team. This dual-layered protection ensures that key champions can act without interruption, making him invaluable against teams reliant on stuns, freezes, or other disabling effects. Moreover, the speed boost synergizes beautifully with 2 to 1 speed tuning setups, particularly in Demon Lord Clan Boss battles where maintaining momentum is critical. His passive skill, Wings of Victory, further amplifies this advantage by applying Increase Accuracy buffs at the start of each round, ensuring your team’s debuffs and damage-over-time effects land consistently. Additionally, every time debuffs expire or are removed from enemies, Zaharis gains Turn Meter, allowing him to cycle through his skills rapidly and maintain pressure throughout the fight.
In addition to defensive prowess, Zaharis excels at offensive disruption, thanks to his The Herald Speaks ability. This skill steals all buffs from a targeted enemy before redistributing them to his allies via Buff Spread – a mechanic that proves devastating in both PvE and PvP environments. By stripping essential buffs like Block Debuffs or immunity effects from high-priority targets such as Hydra Heads or enemy supports, Zaharis cripples their effectiveness while empowering his own team. Simultaneously, he applies Block Buffs and Block Active Skills debuffs to the target, shutting down their ability to counterplay effectively. His basic attack, Hawstrike, complements these tools by spreading two random debuffs across all enemies, creating opportunities to amplify existing crowd-control measures or weaken enemy defenses en masse. Together, these skills establish Zaharis as a champion who thrives in dynamic combat situations, offering equal parts protection and aggression to shape the flow of battle decisively.

Dune Herald Zaharis Champion Lore Synopsis
As war erupted across Teleria, the Arbiter saw the need for unity among the people. With her support, a formidable warrior-chief named Greggor rose to power, uniting the Krokhan Nomad Clans under his leadership as the Dune Lord. The first to join his cause was Zaharis, the leader of the Circling Hawks Clan, whose support lent credibility to Greggor’s coalition. Zaharis, known as the ‘Voice of the Dune Lord,’ played a crucial role in rallying others to their shared vision of a powerful and unified Nomad force. His influence set the stage for a growing movement that inspired smaller clans to follow.
Greggor and Zaharis were bound by a common belief that the Nomads could achieve greatness if they abandoned their long-standing divisions. When Greggor sought an alliance with the Circling Hawks, he and Zaharis spoke passionately through the night, recognising their aligned goals. The next morning, Zaharis declared their unity, drawing upon the imagery of the hawk that soars above the desert, seeing all as one land without borders. The significance of the Circling Hawks’ support was not lost on the other Nomad Clans, many of whom swiftly pledged their allegiance to Greggor’s banner, strengthening the growing army.
While Zaharis was best known as Greggor’s ally, he was a formidable leader in his own right. He was renowned for his calm judgement, sharp strategic mind, and commanding presence. Though not naturally sociable, his deep, resonant voice captivated vast audiences, and his words carried weight in both counsel and battle. Before his alliance with Greggor, Zaharis had already achieved remarkable feats, including the defeat and assimilation of the feared Lurking Scorpions Clan and the victorious hunt of the notorious Fellwolf of the Dune-Wastes. His ability to inspire and lead made him indispensable to Greggor’s campaign.
On the battlefield, Zaharis’ true power was revealed. He was a competent warrior, but his talent for strategy and leadership defined him. His rallying cries steeled the hearts of his warriors, and his keen mind shaped key victories, such as the Battle of Bloody Ridge, where he urged Greggor to seize the high ground against the invading Demonspawn. When a brutal sandstorm threatened to scatter the Nomad forces, Zaharis’ powerful voice and towering banner became the beacon that allowed them to regroup, turning the tide against their disoriented enemies. His unwavering presence kept the coalition strong through the war’s most perilous moments.
Despite their victories, the Nomad alliance could not withstand the pressures of peace. Divisions emerged, and outside influences tore at the unity Zaharis had fought to uphold. Though he and the Circling Hawks remained loyal, Greggor ultimately dissolved the coalition, recognising that their dream had crumbled. Zaharis, believing the failure was his own, relinquished his leadership and wandered the desert alone. In time, the Arbiter found him, revealing that Greggor had also struggled to find a new purpose. She offered Zaharis the same path—to stand at her side. Humbled and grateful, the Voice of the Dune Lord accepted, leaving behind the sands of the Krokhan Desert for a new chapter in his journey.
